Episode 030 How To Know When It Is Time To Rebrand with Morgan Stapp Guest Bio Morgan is a branding and web designer who works with adventurers, artisans, and passionate small businesses owners. She helps her clients bring their best vision for your business to life through branding and website design that infuses who they are with what they do! When she’s not daydreaming on Pinterest, you can find Morgan exploring a new outdoor spot with her best four-legged adventure buddy Remi, cuddled up in front of the fireplace with some room-temperature coffee and a good book, or trying her hand at some new form of creative expression like pottery, watercolor painting, or photography. Key Takeaways How do you know when it’s time to re-brand? When you are no longer jazzed about handing out your business card or posting on social media. You just don’t feel like your brand aligns with the image you want in the world. Benefits of rebranding? After going through the DIY branding and working in your industry for a few years, you are feeling more focussed, invested and ready to level up. Therefore you are ready to invest in a more professional branding package that is a better reflection of your offerings and speaks directly to your ideal clients Can you just update a logo or will it be necessary to update everything? Your brand is not just your logo. Your brand is the representation of yourself in the world. So when looking to do a re-brand, it is important to consider your branding as whole and consider all the elements in a very careful and thoughtful way so that it can be something that can last a longer period of time. How can you choose the right professional to create your re-brand? Review the designers portfolio and see if their style resignates with your style and that of your ideal clients Review the sites of their clients Contact the designers clients and ask about their experience working with the designer Know about their timelines and process Willingness to work as part of your team such as photographers and copywriters Be clear about the deliverables including a style guide and logo files Does the designer speak your language the language of your ideal clients Understand the value for your investment Ask your network for referrals What areas need to be updated with your new rebranding? Website Social media and Professional Memberships, especially update all your profile pictures Update all print and packaging materials Obtain a professional email handle Brand your email signature including your logo, fonts and colors Items mentioned in this episode: Morgan Stapp Design website Morgan Stapp Design Instagram - @morganstapp_design Morgan Stapp Design Facebook Download the FREE Ultimate Branding Checklist Canva Linda’s Lenses Photography Eryn Morgan Success Strategist This episode is sponsored by: ErynMorgan.com/Evolution-Live
Episode 029 - How Your Inner Work Creates Your Outer Results with Kelly Ruta Guest Bio Kelly Ruta is a high-performance mentor for female entrepreneurs. Her style of coaching and speaking has best been described as Gary Vaynerchuk meets Brene Brown; ass-kicking with a heart. Kelly’s 20+ year career has been spent helping women rise above serious challenges and take back their businesses and lives. Her clinical and life experiences with diverse people and challenges make her uniquely qualified as an expert at helping people get out of their own way and rise up in todays entrepreneurial world. Key Takeaways What is mindset and how does it relate to making money? Mindset is how you develop your inner game Your inner game is all the inner work that you do in how you deal with your mind and emotions and how those two things come together in order to make decisions and get into action Bringing to the table your empowered mindset will have a direct effect on your bottom line in a positive way The issue of mindset manifests itself in both inner and outer working symptoms Outer working symptoms are not achieving the results you desire Inner working symptoms are constant feelings: frustration, struggle, and feeling like you have to constantly hustle and grind feeling guilty about raising your prices or paying yourself or even collecting on accounts receivable resistance to hiring a really powerful team to help you grow the business So we are both fans of Profit First and when clients come to me wanting to implement this system after having read the book, I typically start off our engagement by going through their financials and deconstructing their money flows and putting it into the different containers of Profit, Owner’s comp, taxes, etc and what I found as 2 of the common struggling areas is that 1. they are not paying themselves what they should and 2. they are not either charging what they should or not collecting what they should. And when I’ve addressed that with them, what I found is that their belief as entrepreneurs is that they are supposed to struggle and the idea of charging or collecting money seems in poor taste even though they know they are in business to make money - Can you speak to that? Women, in general, have been taught that our worth is tied up in what we do for others, so many women experience feelings of guilt and shame when pricing their products and services in alignment with the value they provide When we are making money in alignment with providing high value, we are then able to turnaround and do so much good for ourselves, for our families and our communities Worth vs Value Worth is a birthright not earned Value are the results, the outcomes, and transform that we either create or co-create with our customers How can overcome those limiting beliefs? Take stock in the work you have done over your lifetime, whether paid or not paid, and determine what service you provided Do not minimize the results you have helped people achieve already Get a hold on the imposter syndrome Place limits and boundaries the use of social media Have a focus, intent and purpose for being on social media Do not buy into competition but only compete and compare your results with yourself in the past as a way to benchmark your progress We set goals based on what we believe the having of them, the being of them, or the doing of them will make us feel So how can you get yourself into money mindset where you are comfortable charging what your worth and receiving the money? We are not 100% responsible for our clients results (this can vary depending on the industry) Do not promise something you can not deliver on if you provide done-for-you type of services If you co-create results with your clients, you can invite your clients to do the worth with you but you can not make them do the work so the price you charge is for the delivery of your expertise and the promise is in doing the work will attain results The key this success is selling from a place of service and integrity Saying no to non-ideal clients it opens up your ability to not only attract but serve your ideal clients Call To Action: Identify your emotional pain point related to business and begin to do the inner work to heal that Items mentioned in this episode: Kelly Ruta's website and resources This episode is sponsored by: ErynMorgan.com/Evolution-Live
Episode 028 - Reclaim Your Time With A Virtual Assistant with Laura Licursi Guest Bio Laura Licursi is the founder of Elite Virtual Assistants. EVA helps entrepreneurs and small business owners get back to doing what they do best by helping them delegate work that is keeping them busy working IN their business instead of ON their business. Laura was a Virtual Assistant for almost 20 years before starting EVA in 2015 with a vision to empower people to live a life that is rewarding and fun. Laura lives in Strongsville, Ohio with her husband, 3 children and 2 dogs. "Time is the most valuable thing that you have. You can spend it any way you'd like. But you can never get it back. So use your time the best way you possibly can." -Laura Key Takeaways What exactly is a VA? A virtual assistant can do anything that an administrative assistant can do that does not require an immediate presence A VA can act as a general administrative assistant or have one that can specialize in areas such as a social medial manager and website designer VAs can be utilized as on-demand staffing Are there benefits from hiring a VA through an agency vs directly? Agency - handles all the recruitment, hiring, placement process and can act as more of a relationship manager Freelance - you are responsible for the recruiting, hiring and firing process How would someone know whether a VA is right move vs just hiring someone directly? If they need someone they can contact multiple times a day to delegate tasks in real time then hiring someone directly and available onsite is probably more ideal If they are willing to work with someone in order to delegate tasks/projects and is comfortable communicating a few times a week then a VA may be more ideal What does someone need to consider before hiring a VA? Be willing to ease in slowly with smaller tasks Be prepared that it will take 2-3 months until an ideal work flow is established Thinking of a VA as part of your team The more engaged you can be with your VA the better the relationship will be What are the essential consideration that someone should ask when hiring a VA? Identify the top 5 areas that you need assistance (refer to Lisa’s interview about how to organize delegating tasks); What are your biggest time sucks? The 3 main areas where a VA can be most beneficial: Administrative - email clean up, calendar management, scheduling appointments, database management, follow up calls Social Media - schedule posts, content creation Digital Marketing - newsletter, blogs If you are spending more time on tasks that are taking away from you making money, then you should consider bringing on help The more systems you have in place the easier (and more cost effective) the on boarding but you do not need to have your systems in place and documented to bring on help What does the communication and workflow look like? Shared filles such as Google Drive or Dropbox Project management tools such as Trello or Asana Minimize email communications VA track their hours throughout and send a report on a weekly basis Be willing to empower the VA to accomplish the tasks set forth rather than micromanage the workflow Items mentioned in this episode: Contact Elite Virtual Assistants Social Media: twitter.com/evassist facebook.com/elitevirtualassist linkedin.com/in/laura-licursi-6863a32a instagram.com/elite_assist/ pinterest.com/evassist This episode is sponsored by: ErynMorgan.com/Evolution-Live

Episode 026 - Profit First Success Story with Dr. Belen Amat Guest Bio Dr. Belen Amat was born and raised in Mexico City, where she studied medicine at the Universidad Panamericana and graduated with honors. She decided to pursue a dual specialty in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at GRMEP in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she found wonderful people and a great city for her family. Ever since she was a child, she wanted to be a doctor and help people, especially when they were sick and needed help the most. She put her life-long love of science to work figuring out complex medical issues and preventing illnesses. After several years of working in large clinics and hospital networks, she decided to start her own practice with the idea of reviving the personalized attention she believes is the basis of a quality medical service. Her research into the Direct Primary Care model showed high rates of patient satisfaction and improved medical and wellness outcomes through increased patient access and communication, so she decided to adopt this preventative model of care. “I believe in patient care that is based on a personal relationship between a doctor and a patient, a relationship based in trust and communication. This is one of the reasons why I believe in spending more time with each person and listen to their needs,” Dr. Amat said. “I enjoy helping my patients prevent diseases and helping children to develop and grow healthy.” Dr. Amat volunteers for medical mission trips to Honduras and offers service in Spanish for the Spanish-speaking community. Key Takeaways Having health insurance does not necessarily mean you will have access to care Direct Primary Care is a membership based model of practicing medicine that takes the insurance middleman out of the equation and unites the doctor and patient in a 1:1 relationship Many entrepreneurs, especially physicians, fall into the trap of feeling entitled to a certain lifestyle without considering whether your business can sustain it Profit First organizes the cashflow of your business your business in such a way that is practical and intuitive Implementing the Profit First Method into her medical practice has resulted in having the funds available when taxes are due, reducing impulse buys by planning ahead for investment purchases, sets the Profit distribution funds aside as the reward for owning your business Profit First has allowed Dr. Amat to create a solid for organizing her cashflow, that it has allowed her to look ahead to growing her practice responsibly, sustainable and profitable. Episode 025 - Design Your Business To Run Like Clockwork with Mike Michalowicz Guest Bio Mike Michalowicz is the entrepreneur behind three multi-million dollar companies and is the author of Profit First,The Pumpkin Plan, Surge and what BusinessWeek deemed the entrepreneur’s cult classic, The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur. Mike is a former small business columnist for The Wall Street Journal and the former business makeover specialist on MSNBC. Key Takeaways Understanding your 4D mix - Doing, Deciding, Delegating and Designing The Queen Bee Role (QBR) is the single action that your business' success depends QBR is not a single person but rather a single role/function/task Once your QBR is identified, all other tasks need to be designed to Serve and Protect the QBR Clockwork suggests that rather than create the old standard operating procedures (SOP) manual, you simply capture your existing systems using his AC/DC method - Attract, Convert, Deliver, and Collect Items mentioned in this episode: Get your copy of Clockwork today Get your FREE Virtual Clockwork Kit Profit First Professionals This episode is sponsored by: ErynMorgan.com/Evolution-Live
Episode 023 - Objection Is Not Rejection: How to Overcome The 3 Most Common Sales Objections with Eryn Morgan Guest Bio Eryn Morgan is a success strategist who helps creative, multi-passionate, highly-skilled women transform into the leaders of their businesses (and lives). She functions as your coach, guru, and the business partner you’ve always wanted. She’s honed her skills in marketing, sales, mindset, operations, and motivating you to get stuff done, so you don’t have to be an expert in #allthethings. When she’s not obsessing over her clients and wearing her business coach hat, she’s fantasizing about being a private detective, drinking copious amounts of wine (while cooking!), being equally fascinated and terrified of birds, and watching her boyfriend play Madden on XBox and acting like it’s a “real game.” Key Takeaways The 3 Most Common Objections and How to reframe the question: Money - "Where is your prospect willing to seek the funds to invest in their transformation?" Time - this is more an opportunity cost objection; "What is the cost of not taking action now?" Need to talk with someone else before proceeding - help your prospect on how to have that conversation by showing them what they will look like after their transformation and therefore their conversation needs to be more about seeking support rather than permission Items mentioned in this episode: ErynMorgan.com Instagram: @erynemorgan ErynMorgan.com/Evolution-Live This episode is sponsored by: ErynMorgan.com/Evolution-Live
