It's the long-awaited return of YOU DON'T KNOW DICK and we've got a barn burner of an episode featuring cinematic podcast royalty Mike White (from The Projection Booth) joining us to chat about the raucous 1980 comedy USED CARS /w Kurt Russell, Jack Warden, Deborah Harmon, Frank McRae and Gerrit Graham! But before that we go deep on what the heck happened to Robert Zemeckis, and how USED CARS came about - and how it was turned into a mid-80s TV show (briefly). All this and, of course, a close look at Dick Miller's (brief) appearance, and it's NON-STOP LAUGHS. Trust US! The post Episode 267 – You Don't Know Dick – Used Cars (/w Mike White) first appeared on Cinema Smorgasbord.

This week on The Pod Charles Cinecast, presented by The Prince Charles Cinema, our hosts Jonathan Foster and Fil Freitas get transferred to Gateway Prison, where they witness the evil warden subjecting a fellow inmate to some hard time because he previously broke out of another prison under his watch, which resulted in him being forced to run this horrible prison... or something...It's the penultimate episode of the BREAKING THE LAW, BREAKING THE LAW arc, and we are looking at the forgotten Sylvester Stallone prison film, LOCK UP (1989), also starring Donald Sutherland, Tom Sizemore, Sonny Landham, Frank McRae and a cameo from Danny Trejo. It's kind of like Rocky but set in prison, and not nearly as good. Join us, as we talk the silly plot, a random football scene, building cars and more Sly Stallone bombs, as we near the end of our prison sentence. It's actually a pretty fun film, that was lost in the shuffle of the late-80s, where Sly also released another more successful film that had some prison sequences with Tango & Cash. Don't sleep on it for a good laugh... "Your body has to be here, but your mind can be anywhere."If you enjoy the podcast, leave a Rating and Review! Jason Teasley and Mark Radulich present their 48 Hours/Another 48 Hours Movie Review. 48 Hrs. (pronounced 'forty-eight hours') is a 1982 American buddy cop action comedy film directed and co-written by Walter Hill, co-written by Larry Gross, Steven E. de Souza and Roger Spottiswoode, and starring Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy (in his film debut) as a cop and a convict, respectively, who team up to catch two hardened criminals. The title refers to the amount of time they have to solve the crime.Though it is predated by Richard Rush's Freebie and the Bean, the film is often credited as being the first in the "buddy cop" genre, later popularized by films such as Lethal Weapon, Bad Boys and Rush Hour. 48 Hrs. was Joel Silver's first title as a producer. Its supporting cast features Annette O'Toole, James Remar, Frank McRae, David Patrick Kelly, Sonny Landham, Jonathan Banks and Brion James. The musical score was composed by James Horner.Released by Paramount Pictures on December 8, 1982, 48 Hrs. was one of the most commercially successful films of 1982, and it received widespread acclaim from critics. It launched Murphy's film career, and earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination for New Star of the Year – Actor. A sequel, Another 48 Hrs., was released in 1990, also directed by Walter Hill, with Nolte and Murphy reprising their roles.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsosnapchat: markkind76FB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulich
