Does your baby have fussy evenings? Are you concerned about you baby or toddler's sleep ?If you are looking at the internet for answers, know that the Internet is flooded with inappropriate information about training babies to sleep. The various methods that include crying of the baby are suggestive of treating a baby , a whole human , like a machine, incapable of thinking for itself or feel in the least. This is not gentle and it is not developmentally healthy as well.In this episode, we sit down with our expert, Dr Sreenath, who walks us through some common questions regarding baby sleep, helping calm a fussy baby, reduce colic or working with nasal congestion , swinging , swaddling and holistically treating baby sleep. Dr Sreenath has done an extensive study on natural and indigenous methods that make parenting easier in the earlier days. Coming from his own experience of not being able to find a suitable and 'convenient' solution for sleep issues when he became a dad, he decided to find the answers himself and built Nasobuddy , a baby products company essentially started to solve Sleep Issues in Children and has now been helping women with other issues including breastfeeding. He also answers a few community questions ! If you answered to the insta poll and are a part of my community who sought an answer, hear this out now!About the guest:Dr Sreenath is an experienced dentist and entrepreneur with 16 years of clinical experience. He is the visionary founder of Nasobuddy®, a brand born from a simple yet profound idea: making parenting easier and safer. Along with Mr Giridharan, a childhood friend and MBA graduate, they started Nasobuddy®, which specializes in offering natural, evidence-based solutions to common parenting concerns, providing parents with peace of mind. He also holds the title of a sleep expert. His dedication extends to helping babies sleep better, further emphasizing his commitment to improving the well-being of families through his diverse expertise and innovative solutions. When he's not busy with all of that, Sreenath is happily married to Janani and is also a loving dad to an 11-year-old son.Support the showPrepare for Birth, explore Prenatal and Postnatal Preparation Classes, visit www.birthagni.comSupport the show: If you like what you hear, leave us a rating on Spotify app and answer the question at each episode! a review on Apple podcasts. Static white noise can be incredibly beneficial for babies, allowing them to fall asleep and stay asleep more easily, as well as assist to calm a fussy baby when crying. The gradual static sound of white noise helps to provide a barrier from louder outside noises and distractions such as barking dogs, sirens, construction or moving furniture. Research suggests that creating a rhythmic steady hum in the background helps to settle babies' brains from busy environments. In honor of Mother's Day, I'm sharing a compilation of reflective blog posts I wrote after my first child was born. Some of my parenting philosophies have changed, but these personal essays reveal the emotional struggle of a new mom with a colicky baby. My son, who is my firstborn, was a challenging baby to say the least. We spent hours soothing him. And it was during this time that I began a little blog called Counting My LITTLE Blessings. It was a way for me to deal with the emotions I was experiencing being a new mom and navigating postpartum with a fussy baby and a husband who was away for work much of the time. Since writing these posts, I have grown so much and learned so much as a mother and person. I have no doubt changed over the past 6 years and continue to do so. And now a mama of 3 littles, life sure is different. We are still in the weeds, as all mamas and daddy’s are when you’re kids are young and so dependent on you, but the advice and perspectives I share in these posts are worth revisiting as we approach Mother’s Day.If you are a mom to someone, keep doing what you’re doing. You’re making a difference in a child’s life, no matter how hard it can be at times. Inspire those around you and they, too, will inspire others.Highlights:{3:20} 12 Weeks Counting My LITTLE Blessings blog post published March 23, 2014{17:07} 3 Realities Counting My LITTLE Blessings blog post published April 6, 2014{28:58} Dear Huck Counting My LITTLE Blessings blog post published May 11, 2014{30:39} Encouragement for MamasJoin our community here.Rate or review this podcast on Apple Podcasts here. Having a baby is supposed to be one of the most joyous times of your life! So when guest Sheila Fell and her husband Joe learned that Sheila was pregnant, they were ecstatic. In fact, Sheila immersed herself in learning everything she could about pregnancy and new motherhood. However, once their son Arthur was born, reality didn’t quite match all those glorious expectations. The Fells learned firsthand about that dreaded word “colic" when their baby boy began to cry virtually nonstop. Sheila recounts how she was in a constant state of anxiety as a result. And despair. Because those days of unsuccessfully trying to calm an unhappy baby turned into weeks...and then months. New moms like Sheila are not only susceptible to postpartum depression, but to a whole range of emotions that can include PTSD and absolute rage. They are called perinatal mood disorders, and they are very real, affecting roughly 1 in 5 women after childbirth. They can be life threatening. The good news, though, is that there IS help available.
