Hi, I'm Cha Wilde, and today we're practicing at the beautiful Khus Farm Bali eco-resort in Indonesia. This session is all about slowing down, tuning into your breath, and connecting deeply with yourself in the serene surroundings of the jungle. 00:00:18 Introduction and Setting I introduce myself and invite you to immerse in the peaceful sounds of the jungle here at the Yogashala. The constant hum around us is like the ocean waves, a reminder of nature's steady rhythm. 00:01:48 Butterfly Pose (Baddha Konasana) We start with the Butterfly pose, also known as Baddha Konasana. I encourage you to move gently, like the beautiful black butterflies fluttering around us in the jungle, and to feel the stretch as you twist and press into your knees. 00:03:34 Slowing Down and Feeling Slowing down is essential. The slower we move, the more we can feel and heal. It's okay if slowing down brings up uncomfortable feelings. Embrace them, knowing that you don't have to rush or change everything at once. 00:07:26 Straddle Pose and Breath Work As we move into the Straddle pose, I guide you to focus on your breath. Drag out the inhale, slow down your breathing, and connect with any part of you that resists this pace. Remember, all parts of you are welcome here. 00:10:43 Happy Baby Pose (Ananda Balasana) We then move into Happy Baby pose. Yoga is about finding comfort in these poses, and through practice and patience, we can discover ease and joy in the journey. 00:14:03 Transitions and Fluidity As we transition between poses, it's natural to stir up thoughts and emotions, just like sediment in a pond. Aim for a smooth, fluid flow, maintaining clarity and stillness as you move. 00:18:28 Closing and Gratitude We finish with Shavasana, followed by Sukhasana. I express my gratitude for your practice today, for spending time with yourself, and for allowing this experience of slowing down to bring healing and connection into your life. ------------------------ ✨ Welcome to Cha Wilde's YouTube channel dedicated to healing. We're chatting beer festivals Helli has attended and Charlotte's first week at her new job, along with the usual chaos of dark chocolate, knot tying expertise, Godzilla facts and Helli's microphone dying halfway through (sorry!) Sometimes something has become so habitual and easy that it becomes second-nature to underestimate or undervalue the skills and knowledge you have. Whether it's planning a strategy, the ability to be organised, being a polyglot, creating content or even hobbies you do in your spare time. It takes a lot of effort to make something look effortless and it can become easy to lose sight of the value or authority you bring to the table. We feel like we should know how to do everything and yet especially as women we feel the pressure to be humble about our achievements, but what seems normal and easy to you, is a valuable skill to someone else and you don't realise the value you what you know. As a mom, we're the thermostat for our family - how we show up and respond to each situation directly influences the way our family does as well. Motherhood can feel so heavy, and even more so when we're sleep deprived, burnt out, and can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. My guest on today's podcast interview, Mica Deshaw, is a brilliant pediatric sleep coach who GETS IT. We have both had our fair share of sleep deprivation and we've been where so many moms are at when it comes to infant and toddler sleep. But it doesn't have to be this way! So often, we accept sleep deprivation as the norm. As if it's a non-negotiable component of motherhood that you have to endure, like it or not. That's so far from the truth. Mica speaks all about what sleep training actually is, their signature method at Rested Mama, Happy Baby, how quality sleep can more positively impact both mom AND baby, and a huge opportunity for you to explore future career opportunities as a mom that support your ability to put your family first! There's something for everyone in this episode and we know you'll love getting to know our new friend, Mica. Mica Deshaw of Rested Mama, Happy Baby is on the show today. Mica is a Certified Pediatric Sleep Expert whose mission with Rested Mama, Happy Baby is to give families the rest they need to enjoy their time in the world of parenthood in a way that is responsive and holistic with their unique Association Fading Sleep Method that is trademarked. In our conversation, Mica shares how becoming a mom herself is what catapulted her into the world of sleep. She was someone who read all the books and did everything by the book so when none of that seemed to have prepared her for the realities of motherhood, she was shocked. She felt completely lost in the world and it was all because of a lack of sleep.Mica shares what sets her and her business partner Chelsae's sleep training method apart from the others that are out there and what finally getting sleep did for her life. And spoiler alert, she is a mom of two now so she did make it through those early stages of sleep deprivation that can make you feel like you never want to do this parenting thing again!Follow Mica on Instagram: @rested_mama_happy_babyrestedmamahappybaby.comSupport the Show.Connect with Ashley: Website: https://dovetaildesigns.coSupport AND/BOTH: Help us offset production costs while we're growingDovetail® Schedule Academy: https://dovetaildesigns.co/dovetail-schedule-academy Caregiver by Dovetail® App: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/dovetail-co/id6449788093 Social:Instagram: @dovetaildesigns.co TikTok: @dovetaildesigns.coFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/dovetaildesigns.coLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ashleyblackington/
We're already on our last episode of Season 11, and I can't wait to bring you more episodes as we head into season 12 really soon. But we wanted to round out this season on a high and I think we may have achieved it... What a total and utter joy it was to interview this week's guest. A dream podcast interviewee, I spoke to Giovanna Fletcher, author, mother of three boys and host of the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast. She's also married to Tom from McFly so if you're a millennial mammy like I am, that's probably significant. But back to Giovanna. As the presenter of a parenting podcast, this was like speaking to royalty!! We spoke about lessons we've learned through talking to so many people about parenting, and how the main takeaway is that whatever you're going through, you're likely not alone. We talking about the importance of getting out in nature to fill your cup, and how the idea of "having it all" is a myth – she spoke about that with Geri Halliwell, no less. A SPICE GIRL. The episode is, like Giovanna, just full of kindness and empathy and words of advice, so I hope you enjoy. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
In the final part of this stomp, Giovanna Fletcher shares how her podcast ‘Happy Mum, Happy Baby' has made waves in the parenting community.Giovanna shares how the Princess of Wales's words to her still resonate, why people are reluctant to talk about baby loss and Dr Alex shares a fascinating fact about why we're all born water babies.Follow @mrsgifletcher and the podcast on Instagram @thestompcast And don't forget to check your breasts, pecks or chest. In this podcast, we've cycled through myriad models and maps in the spirit of self-inquiry, all in service of seeing the threads of connection. In this episode, we explore the life that's lived between Tadasana (Mountain Pose) and Sivasana (Corpse Pose), as a reflection of the work we do on the mat and the life we live off the mat. We touch on the mythological symbolism behind Tadasana, and laugh about our limits with challenging poses, which ultimately lead us to personal growth. We return to the concept of the Heroic Journey as part of this process, as it shows up, not only in the effort we make to meet various challenges, but also in our mindset and emotional reactions to our own behaviors.Do you love Happy Baby, Crow, and Child's Pose? Can each one be challenging in its own way? Having discussed the koshas, are you better able to recognize in which layer the pose is offering its service? We emphasize the significance of Sivasana as a way to embrace mortality and prepare for death. We encourage listeners to practice Sivasana in a meaningful way, as they move along the path of impermanence. This does not have to be morbid, rather an opportunity to check in and be still with Self.In this episode, you will be able to:Glimpse the vital balance between groundedness and creativity for a transformative yoga practice.Uncover the mythological meaning behind Tadasana and its connection to the heroic journey.Look at your limits with challenging poses and be curious how you're practicing and why.Explore the acceptance of life's natural cycles, including death, using your yoga practice as a tool.Cultivate mindfulness and self-awareness for a tailored and personal lifestyle yoga experience.Points from the show to consider:Start your yoga practice in mountain pose to connect with the Earth and your personal power.Use Tadasana as the basic alignment for every other pose and focus on feeling grounded and alive.Remember that every new moment is a fresh opportunity to practice and get to know yourself better.Let go of the stuff you carried into your practice and become present, focused, and grounded like a mountain.Take the Heroic journey from Tadasana to Sivasana, experiencing discomfort, trials, and tribulations, meeting mentors and teachers on the way, ending back at your Mountain.Notice how hard it is to let go during Sivasana and prepare for the impermanence of life.Explore the Koshas to see where your asana practice is calling you to lookSourced in the Episode:Myths of the AsanasBKS Iyengar's actual quote about Tadasana: This link contains the quote and so much more."Once we can master 'tadasana' then all the other poses come." In this episode, Liz speaks with Shazi Visram, entrepreneur, children's health advocate, and investor best known for founding Happy Baby Organics, a company that was ahead of its time. Instead of retiring after selling Happy Baby as initially intended, her mission to optimize early childhood health was reignited by her son Zane's autism diagnosis. Now, with her new company, Healthybaby, she's investing in a new standard for clean baby products. In this conversation, Shazi discusses her unusual path to entrepreneurship, gets real about the impact raising a child diagnosed with autism can have on parents, and offers research-based advice on how parents can create the safest, healthiest environments for their babies.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

While she was a student at business school, Shazi Visram ran into an old friend—a new mother of twins. The friend confided she felt like a bad mom because she had no time to make her kids healthy meals. That gave Shazi her initial idea: why not make organic pureed baby food, and sell it frozen instead of jarred? People told her she was crazy to take on Gerber, but she convinced dozens of friends and family to invest in Happy Baby. Nearly 20 years later, the brand is known as Happy Family Organics and reportedly makes more than $200 million a year.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Josh Innes and Jilly open the show discussing Josh's negative experience with Crumbl cookies. Almost instantly Josh felt sick and still feels sick as the podcast is being recorded. Do other people have this issue? Josh found a list of ways to save money on groceries and is astounded by how idiotic it is. Could Deshaun Watson be kicked out of the league for life? Does it matter that he hasn't been criminally charged with anything? Why does he like his taint fondled? Josh thinks the Texans are in no way responsible for Deshaun's predatory ways. Tony Buzbee disagrees. He is dragging the Texans in this mess. Jack Del Rio apologized for referring to January 6th as a "dust up".
Empaths have a tought time in this world. They are very different. It is difficult/impossible for those who are not empaths to understand them. Introverterted----empaths are easily overwhelmed by their internal and external environments: loud noises, large public venues, bright liights, high and low temperatures, unfamiliar odors, heat, humidity, cold, strangers, crowded spaces like elevators, brash extroverts, parties, weddings, formal dinners, densely populated noisy public events. Empaths hide inside of themselves for protection and solace. They cry in private---tears run down their faces like tiny salty rivers. Empaths have very few individuals in whom they can confide. Empaths intuit the family secrets. They remain mute on this subject, knowing that they will be dismissed as histrionic, overly0sensitive or psychologically disturbed. Empaths are very gifted at "reading" individuals they meet, even strangers passing by. This is a great gift that they possess from their earliest days. They know if someone is greedy, secretive, craven, vile, enamored, scorned, fulminating, tawdry, crooked, scheming, cheating, unsavory, enlightened. Don't expect others, even individuals you know uite well to understand your high sensitivities, clear perceptions, your need for solitude and rest. Self kindness activities for the empath include: Move at your own pace; don't let anyone rush you. Many children are herded around and forced to move quickly by other family members. This is particularly stressful to empaths, whose nerves are frayed, stomach roiled when they are forced to hurry mindlessly. It is distressing and disorienting. Develop daily routines that work well for you and that orient you into the parasympathetic nervous system and out of the fight or flight sympathetic mode. The practice of diaphragmatic breathing offers you an entree into the parasympathetic state. Diaphragmatic breathing activates the vagus nerve, one of the longest nerves in our system. The awakening of the vagus nerve puts you into the parasympathetic--the calming, healing, restorative part of the nervous system. Learn to appreciate your solitude, unedited writing, beautiful music, basic yoga poses like Happy Baby, movement and exercise that works for you. Writer Stephen Elliott was once a bonafide member of the independent literary scene. In 2009 he founded the literary site The Rumpus, which helped launch the careers of writers like Roxane Gay and Cheryl Strayed. His eight books include the memoir The Adderall Diaries and the novel Happy Baby, which draws from his experiences in the child welfare system as a teenager and his subsequent involvement in the BDSM community. Both of those books were adapted into films, one of which he directed. He also wrote and directed the film “After Cherry” and made a web series. In 2017, Stephen was among more than 70 men whose names appeared on the so-called “Shitty Media Men List," an anonymously sourced Google document that accused the men of various levels of sexual misconduct. Stephen was among those accused of rape. He eventually decided to sue the list's creator because, he says, he was in the “unique position of knowing not only that I didn't rape anyone, but that there was no one out in the world who believed I had raped them.” In this conversation, Stephen explained what he means by that and what he hopes to accomplish with the lawsuit. But the interview is not really about the lawsuit or the list. It's about Meghan's favorite subject, the mid-career pivot, and how Stephen put his life back together after being about as cancelled as it's possible to be. They talked about how Stephen managed to become a real estate investor with very little startup money and about his “Self Help” newsletter, which he's dubbed “financial advice for poets.” Stephen shared his belief that literary writers are especially likely to participate in social media mobs and also offered his biggest piece of advice for anyone: buy a house. This interview was originally recorded on video for the podcast's Unspeakeasy video series. A partial version can be seen on the Unspeakable YouTube channel. The full version is available to Patreon supporters of the podcast at Patrreon.com/theunspeakable. Here to debunk some sleep myths that may have crept into your thinking is founder of Rested Mama, Happy Baby, Mica Deshaw. She provides one-on-one sleep coaching to create unique sleep plans to maximize sleep for families in under a fortnight. Mica is a pediatric sleep coach and mother of two who gets candid on today's episode about why there's so much unsolicited advice around getting your baby to sleep, and why you can go to all the hospital classes twice, and still not get the guidance you need. You'll hear how she is driven by passion and prioritizes supporting what you want and need as a mom, and why she believes that if you don't have a problem with sleep, you shouldn't seek out a coach. She tells us about the service she offers, educating new and expecting parents, and building personalized sleep schedules, and describes some of the topics that she covers, from sleep goals, to identifying overtiredness and under tiredness. She assures us that her baby is getting 12 hours of sleep, and jokes that she couldn't be a sleep coach if that wasn't the case, and emphasizes the fact that it's natural to want to sleep! Additionally, she lets us know that you can't spoil your baby in the first eight weeks, and all you need to do is survive, before you introduce healthy strategies as they grow. She explains why it is important to set your baby's expectations and make sure that they fall asleep and wake up in the same place to avoid startling them. As your baby gets older, deep communication of expectations and consequences needs to be introduced, and she lets us know why, if there's going to be a reward, it needs to be immediate. We hope you tune in to hear all this and more today! Key Points From This Episode:Why people offer unsolicited advice to new moms: they have been through it, but might not be educated on all of it. Why you can go to all the hospital classes twice and still not get the guidance you need. How Mica is driven by passion and aims to support what you want as a mom. Why, if you don't have a problem with sleep, you shouldn't seek out a coach. What Mica offers: education for new and expecting parents, building sleep schedules.Topics Mica covers: what to expect from your newborn, sleep goals, how much sleep they should be getting, signs of overtiredness and under tiredness, postpartum sleep plans. Why Mica couldn't be a sleep coach if her child wasn't getting 12 hours of sleep. How her own experience with a newborn caused her to explore sleep schedules. Why, even though it looks that way on social media, everyone else does not have it all.The first tip: don't feel bad about wanting sleep and be okay with knowing you deserve it.Another tip: the first eight weeks, all you have to do is survive, you can't spoil your baby. Why it is important for your baby to fall asleep in the same place that they wake up.The value of having a routine and a sleepytime phrase. How to avoid startling your baby by creating expectations for them.Deep communication of expectations and consequences with older children. Jessica Rolph is the Cofounder and CEO of Lovevery, a new child development company helping parents feel confident they are making the most of each learning stage of their babies life experience. Equipped with an MBA in Management from Cornell University, in 2005 she Co-Founded the brand Happy Family, an impactful organic baby food company she, and her friend Shazi Visram, took from concept to mega brand. In 2013 Happy Family was acquired by Danone, allowing the French food group to enter the US baby food market. After reading a doctoral dissertation titled ‘Current Research Findings on the Neurological Development of Infants', Jessica educated herself on baby experience as well as diet. This paper inspired Jessica, along with her business partner Rod Morris to create a second baby company, this time focused on brain development. The result is Lovevery, bringing academics, researchers, and practitioners from a wide range of disciplines together for a holistic approach to parent choices. Jessica joins us today to reveal how her interest in child diet and development lead to the creation of one of the most successful organic baby food companies in the country. We discuss the early days of Happy Family and how a failed attempt at frozen organics lead to a successful journey into organic dry foods and baby cereal.
