From the moment my feet hit the floor, I'm juggling so many tasks—waking up my daughter, negotiating breakfast choices, and racing against the clock. The struggle of getting my daughter ready for school sometimes feels like a whirlwind of chaos. No matter how much I plan the night before, it seems there's always something that catches me off guard—a lost shoe, an unexpected meltdown, or even my exhaustion. There are days I question if I am winning this battle. But through all the madness, I have learned to find small victories. A five-minute head start, a pre-packed lunch, or even a moment of calm over breakfast makes the difference. I remind myself that every mom faces her version of this morning's madness, and while it may feel overwhelming, we're stronger than we think. The key is accepting that it's okay if things don't go perfectly every day. Each morning is a new chance to reset and try again. So, if you are out there, racing through your morning like me—know that you are not alone. Send us a textIn this episode, I am sharing how storytelling is not just a fun activity, it's about the gateway of Imagination and Critical thinking for my daughter. Storytelling is a powerful tool for both imagination and critical thinking. When I share stories with my daughter, I am not just providing entertainment; I am also helping her develop essential cognitive and emotional skills. Through stories, she can explore different worlds, understand diverse perspectives, and grapple with complex problems safely and engagingly. This process which always enhanced my daughter's critical thinking, let me share;1. Imagination: Stories can introduce any kid to new worlds and allow them to envision possibilities beyond their immediate experience. This imaginative exercise helps her think creatively and expand her horizons.2. Critical Thinking: As she follows a story's plot, she is learning to anticipate the outcomes, recognize patterns, and evaluate characters' decisions. Discussing why characters made certain choices or what might happen next can foster her ability to analyze the reason.3. Empathy: Stories often involve characters with diverse backgrounds and challenges. By engaging with these characters, my daughter can develop a deeper understanding of others' emotions and perspectives, which enhances her emotional intelligence.4. Problem-solving: Many stories feature problems that characters need to overcome. Analyzing these situations has helped my daughter think through solutions and understand the consequences of different actions.5. Language Skills: Through storytelling, she can encounter new vocabulary and language structures, improving her communication skills and expanding her ability to express herself.Encouraging her to create her own stories is incredibly beneficial. It allows her to experiment with ideas, structure narratives, and practice articulation, all while fostering a love for both storytelling and learning. Send us a textIn this episode, I am talking about “Am I good enough?” “Am I Worth Enough?” echoes through many mothers' minds. As a mother, you give so much of yourself every day, and it's important to recognize and appreciate your value. Motherhood is both magical and demanding. As soon as my baby was born, it felt like everything was essential. I was constantly thinking about what was best for my daughter, which led to a lot of stress because I was looking for everything that was best for her. Balancing work, and home life, and where I can feel like we're not doing enough. In this Motherhood journey, these elements will keep on reminding us that we are worth enough;Unconditional Love: Our love for our children is profound and unwavering. This love provides them with a secure foundation and helps them grow into confident individuals. That alone speaks volumes about our worth.Sacrifice and Dedication: The countless hours we spend caring for our family, whether it's through late-night feedings, school runs, or simply being there to listen, showcase our dedication. Our sacrifices are a testament to our strength and character. Role Model: By navigating life's challenges and showing compassion, we model important values for our children. Our actions teach them about perseverance, empathy, and integrity. Unique Qualities: Every mother has her unique strengths and qualities. Our personalities, talents, and experiences make us the perfect mother for our children. They are shaped by who we are, and that's incredibly valuable. Being “good enough” or "worth enough" is not about an unattainable standard of excellence but about the love and dedication we pour into our role as a mother. Our efforts, no matter how imperfect, contribute to the growth and well-being of our children. Seeing things this way can calm our inner critic and remind us that we are good enough.Request all of you to listen to this episode and share your views or if you have any topics or any thoughts about my podcast write to me at somathakur@gmail.com and follow me on Instagram @somathakur.mothercoach for more updates. Send us a Text Message. In this episode, I am sharing the idea behind "The Psychological Impact of a Kitchen Makeover for Mothers". A kitchen makeover holds the potential to significantly uplift the mental health of mothers, which I strongly believe for whom this space is the epicenter of daily activities, here I am every Mother will agree with me—from cooking and cleaning to preparing meals for all family members, including children and we completely agree how fussy they are every time they ask us to make something new something different. Ultimately, a thoughtfully designed kitchen isn't just about aesthetics; it's about creating a supportive environment that nurtures mind and body. A kitchen makeover becomes a powerful tool for enhancing the mental health and overall well-being of mothers, helping them find balance and joy in their everyday routines.I would like to share which elements I like to add to my kitchen are;Better Lighting: Bright, well-placed lighting reduces eye strain and enhances visibility while cooking. Good lighting helps you see clearly while cooking and preparing food. It can also help prevent accidents. Essential Oil Diffuser: This creates a calming atmosphere at home and helps to reduce stress. The essential oils used in diffusers can have a range of positive effects on your mood and well-being.New Chopper: Getting one for the kitchen that is sharp and convenient to chop veggies and other stuff always excites me. Always remember quality choppers and knives make cutting and slicing easier and safer.Safety Measures: Please choose childproof locks on cabinets and drawers to keep hazardous items out of reach of curious children, it's peace of mind for Mothers. These tools not only simplify meal preparation but also provide flexibility and efficiency, allowing mothers to cater to different dietary needs and preferences effortlessly. By incorporating these elements into the kitchen, mothers can effectively manage cooking pressures while maintaining a healthy balance in their daily lives. I believe every mother loves to see changes in the kitchen including me and it will work like a helping hand in our kitchen.Request all of you to listen to this episode and share your views or if you have any topics or any thoughts about my podcast write to me at somathakur@gmail.com and follow me on Instagram @somathakur.mothercoach for more updates. Send us a Text Message. In this episode, we are discussing how important our skin is and how we can take care of it, especially post-pregnancy. As mothers, we often prioritize the well-being of our little ones and sometimes overlook our own needs, especially when it comes to skincare. However, taking care of our skin is not just about vanity; it's about nurturing the body's largest organ, which plays a crucial role in our overall health and well-being.Post-pregnancy, our bodies undergo incredible changes, and our skin is no exception. Hormonal fluctuations, stretch marks, and changes in skin texture are common. It's essential to give our skin the attention it deserves during this transformative time.Natural skincare becomes particularly important because it minimizes exposure to harmful chemicals that can potentially affect both mothers and babies. Ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil, aloe vera, and natural antioxidants not only nourish the skin but also promote healing and restore elasticity. These elements are gentle yet effective, catering to the unique needs of postpartum skin.Hydration: Drinking plenty of water and using hydrating skincare products help maintain skin elasticity and suppleness.Gentle Cleansing: Using mild, natural cleansers helps prevent irritation and maintains the skin's natural moisture balance.Sun Protection: Shielding the skin from harmful UV rays with sunscreen or protective clothing is crucial for preventing pigmentation and premature aging.Nutrition: A balanced diet rich in vitamins and antioxidants supports skin health from within.Stress Management: Practicing relaxation techniques and getting enough sleep can improve overall skin appearance and texture.Request all of you to listen to this episode and share your views or if you have any topics or any thoughts about my podcast write to me at somathakur@gmail.com and follow me on Instagram @somathakur.mothercoach for more updates.Support the Show.Soma ThakurMother Coach, Lifestyle Educator & Mentorwww.somathakur.com
In this episode, I am having a conversation with Sally Lee Stewart, who is an amazing Mother, elementary education specialist & author, and also a wonderful oceanographer. Recently she published her first Novel " The Ange of Vanishing Stability" It's about Thea West, a Northern Californian teenager growing up in the late sixties and early seventies, who is one of five daughters trying to stay afloat amid the psychologically catastrophic dynamic between her parents—a covert and commanding mother and an ocean-yachtsman father. A talented sailor and businessman, Mr. West suffers from crippling alcoholism, with frequent rages that mask his fragility. Thea longs to know how to sail, but in her world, traversing the water is a skill that belongs only to men, and she's terrified to ask her larger-than-life father to teach her. Self-love and Self-discovery play an important role in everyone's life because it gives us immense strength to believe in ourselves and overcome any challenges.Sally is also an educator, As a clinician she always learned the background of a given child and then made a point to get to know them, their experience at school, and their likes and dislikes. One of her first questions was, when you feel anger, what do you do? One child answered, "Breathe." I was impressed. After her student surveys, she found the students felt trusting toward her and also respected her because she took the time to get to know them as autonomous beings with feelings, history, experience, and an opinion. Sally also loves to explore Ocean, She lives on a cooperatively grazed ten-acre farm in the coastal hills of Northern California and sails on the San Francisco Bay. For her upcoming expedition, she has already prepared herself and leaving tomorrow for her long water tour. In this episode, we are discussing, our distractions which we feel mentally every other day always fall behind in thinking the best for ourselves. Hence today's topic is “Focus on Our Goals – Attention Doesn't Matter” Mothers, often the linchpin of the family unit, find themselves pulled in myriad directions, tending to the demands of daily life. Amidst the chaos, it's essential to recognize that attention alone doesn't always translate to progress or personal fulfillment. Self-care goes beyond physical health; it encompasses mental and emotional well-being. Taking moments for relaxation, pursuing hobbies, or simply indulging in activities that bring joy contribute to a mother's resilience and ability to navigate the challenges of motherhood.Amidst the mass responsibilities, we mothers must actively carve out time for self-care. It could be as simple as dedicating moments for reflection, engaging in activities that promote relaxation, or seeking support when needed. Guidance is the compass that directs children toward positive values, empathy, and a sense of responsibility. Mothers play a pivotal role in shaping their children's character, instilling essential life skills, and nurturing their innate potential. Through love, care, and guidance, mothers can create a supportive environment where children can flourish emotionally, intellectually, and morally. In the delicate balance between family and personal goals, self-care and self-respect serve as cornerstones. In the episode I am sharing my thoughts and ways to overcome the scenario when we mothers fall sick or when the flu strikes. Just like everyone else, can fall victim to the flu, and the symptoms may vary. Fever, body aches, fatigue, and respiratory symptoms are common indicators. If we notice these signs in ourself, it's time to take action. The first step is acknowledging the symptoms and not brushing them off. Sometimes, we tend to downplay our health issues, thinking we can power through. However, with the flu, it's crucial to listen to the body and take the necessary steps.Mothers should not hesitate to share how you're feeling and what you need. Let your partner, family members, and friends know about your situation. Sometimes, loved ones may not be aware of the extent of your struggle unless you communicate it to them."Mealtime can be a challenge when we Mothers are unwell. As we know, simplicity is key. We want meals that are easy to prepare but still packed with essential nutrients. Consider soups or any other simple meal that requires minimal effort. These can be not only nutritious but also soothing for us."With mom under the weather, keeping the kids entertained and the household running smoothly becomes a team effort. It's a challenge many families face when moms are under the weather – keeping the household running smoothly and engaging the kids. "Sometimes, a bit of comfort can go a long way. We'll delve into natural remedies and comfort measures that can help alleviate flu symptoms, providing moms with a bit of relief during their recovery." Navigating motherhood when the flu strikes is no easy feat, but with awareness, self-care, and a strong support system, mothers can overcome the weather storm. In this episode, I am having a superb conversation with Valerie Cockerell, She is Confident, Self-made, ready to take any challenges, and always open to work in any position with great passion and pride. She is a keynote speaker and facilitates various workshops with her husband Dan. She loves to share her expertise and methodology in leading teams and has the ability to deliver outstanding customer service. Valerie was born and raised in France where she graduated from Institut Pitiot-Lyon II with a degree in Business hospitality. She participated in the World Showcase Fellowship program at Epcot in 1987/88. After working as an investment advisor for a bank, she eventually joined Disneyland Paris in 1991 as a retail manager and ran multiple merchandise locations in the Resort division. She eventually joined the Merchandise Buying Office and oversaw the assortment planning for all Resort merchandise locations at Disneyland Paris. With her new book "Manage like a Mother" Valerie brings a simple-to-understand and easy-to-implement take on leadership inspired by a mother's playbook. Using a mother's playbook, Valerie shares her no-nonsense approach to leadership by sharing stories and strategies that illustrate how leaders, men or women, can leverage "the wisdom of Mom" and enhance their leadership style. The responsibilities of a leader, much like ones of a mother, require consistency, diplomacy, a fair amount of patience, a long-term commitment, the flexibility to adapt to different personalities, and last but not least, the willingness to adapt and learn "on the job". A mother's approach to training, building a close relationship with her kids, encouraging and supporting them, providing coaching and guidance when needed, and dealing with crisis situations are just some of the many similarities that exist between raising children and leading a team effectively. Valerie's approach is easy to understand, relatable, and memorable. Her audience members can discover tools and tactics that are easy to implement so they can make an impact in their organizations. I am very happy to share with you all, that her book is now available for Indian readers and it's very much available on Amazon. In this episode I am sharing about the feeling of being an Imperfect Mother, which I personally love, and being like that is “Proud to be an Imperfect Mother”- I am embracing this tagline. Motherhood is an extraordinary journey filled with love, joy, and endless moments of self-discovery. As mothers, we often strive for perfection, hoping to be the epitome of nurturing, selfless, and patient caregivers. However, in this pursuit of perfection, we sometimes forget that it is the imperfections that make us human and unique. Grabbing our flaws and celebrating our imperfections is essential for not only our well-being but also for building authentic connections with our children. Being a proud imperfect mother is not a weakness; it is a source of strength, growth, and love.As mothers, we are bombarded with societal expectations and portrayals of "perfect" parenting. But in truth, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to motherhood. Each child is different, and each mother's journey is distinct. Embracing authenticity means acknowledging that we may not have all the answers, and that's okay. We learn and grow along with our children, making mistakes, and celebrating every success together.Being proud to be an imperfect mother means embracing the messy, chaotic, and beautiful reality of motherhood. It is about letting go of unrealistic expectations and societal pressures and choosing to love ourselves unconditionally. Our imperfections do not define our worth as mothers; they enrich our journey, teaching us valuable lessons along the way. By accepting and celebrating our imperfections, we cultivate a nurturing environment where our children can grow, learn, and flourish, knowing that they, too, are loved and accepted for who they are. So, let us wear our imperfections with pride and continue this remarkable journey of motherhood with authenticity, resilience, and unconditional love. In this episode, I am sharing the details about how Parental Conflict often affects Children's Mental health. This is a very important topic to talk about and discuss because we parents fight and take out all our frustration but think about those small souls who had done nothing but the impact on their minds is horrible and throughout their life, it keeps on effect. A child's mental health can be significantly impacted by their parents' bad relationship. The quality of the parental relationship is an important factor in a child's overall well-being and development But a few elements which hit badly in Children's Mental health are;Emotional distress: Witnessing constant conflict, hostility, or violence between parents can cause significant emotional distress for a child. They may feel anxious, scared, or helpless, which can lead to long-term emotional difficulties. Insecurity and instability: A turbulent relationship between parents can create an unstable and unpredictable home environment. This lack of stability can make a child feel insecure, affecting their sense of safety and ability to trust others. Going down self-esteem in Child is possible for various reasons, I mean to say if the children is in school and the teacher scolds them for their bad performance or nuisance their self-esteem becomes very low, but this starts always at home when they witness their parents fighting often and which in turn create a negative impact on them. Have you ever wondered why some kids behave very weirdly in front of people or even in school, you know why? because of their disturbing minds, or their behavioral problems? Starts from home when they are exposed to a hostile or unhealthy parental relationship and may exhibit behavioral problems such as aggression, defiance, or withdrawal. We being Parents always blame kids for not performing in school, but have you wondered what the reason behind this is, we always insist them concentrate on their studies but they fail to give proper focus On their work because of a disturbed mind and their struggle become double in the academic front. Better relationships at home with parents and Children create a very positive impact in kid's life. Because it helps kids to become open about their thoughts and share their potential ideas with parents and the world. But if they are Growing up in an environment with a bad parental relationship can shape a child's future relationships. How many of us really give thought to the Mental health issues of our Child: Prolonged exposure to parental conflict can increase the risk of developing mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The ongoing stress and emotional turmoil can have a lasting impact on a child's psychological well-being. In this episode, I am sharing about Motherhood challenges. Being a mother every challenges and struggles are unique and but how can we cherish those moments later by making these challenges less stressful? There are several challenges mothers are facing on an everyday basis, but a few I am listing down which I personally realized post Covid-19, · Digital addiction: Children of all ages are hooked to cell phones these days. We can't blame our kids, it's all about us, parents are also responsible for this act because we have always hooked ourselves to our phones and browsed through the day, then how come we can restrict our children from these gadgets? They find it really interesting when they watch us on phone. · Fussy eating habits: This problem is basically with 90% of the parents who are facing this issue on an everyday basis. Till the age of 02 years, kids are really fussy with their food habits. Even my daughter is a big-time fussy eater. The struggle started when my daughter started having semiliquid food and the process is still on. She is very fussy because of the taste factor. · Unwilling to study: this is also a habit that most of the kids are down with, their willingness to study is very less. It has a reason because they find it interesting to study together in class with their friends. They feel the joy of giving answers first and taking credit from the teacher. · Aggression: Aggression in kids is very common because when they grow their thought process changes so the demands for small things start, and they even don't have any idea. One thing which I have realized with my daughter is, she doesn't love the instructions, she loves to be a part of my work. She loves to help me in the kitchen. Discipline is a way of teaching and a way of enhancing a good parent-child relationship. Given the unique struggles that mothers face, it is essential that we learn how to manage our resources efficiently. Mothers can benefit from budgeting, seeking out support networks, and advocating for their children's needs. Additionally, we may find strength and solace in participating in social activities with other mothers in similar situations. With the right skills and resources, we can build strong, secure foundations for our children. Please listen to this episode and share your view also if you have any topic which you want me to cover on my Podcast please write to me @somathakur@gmail.com and you can also follow me on Instagram @somathakur.mothercoach for more updates.
In this episode, I am sharing about kids' fear, we feel it's very normal but it's not.Have you all seen one thing which is very common in our kids fear, they often fear small things. Have we ever wondered, if this fear is a natural behavior of a child or because of the surrounding kids getting this fear?I believe there are certain situations where we parents are also responsible for this fearful behavior. I have personally realized how my parents used to make me aware of things, like don't go near dogs they bite. And then stay away from dark places, something can harm you. I still remember I was very scared to check under beds at night, I used to fear far loud noises like thunder. Same time even the concept behind parents make us cautious about a few things definitely for our betterment but slowly it creates a fear space in our heart. What I have seen personally in my daughter when she was an infant is she needs me every time. She cries when I am away. I used to Comfort her by saying, "It's OK, you're safe, I'm here." Let our children know we're there to protect them. Give hugs and soothing words to help your child feel safe. Most kids cope with normal fears with gentle support from their parents as they grow, they get over fears they had at a younger age. Some kids have a harder time and need more help with fears. If fears are extreme or keep a child from doing normal things, it might be a sign of an anxiety disorder.Being parent what we can do is to make situations very normal for them and make them realize that if things are bad there are ways to handle them rather than getting panicked. We can calm down and solve every issue, it's not a matter to scare it's all about facing them with courage. Please listen to this episode and share your view also if you have any topic which you want me to cover on my Podcast please write to me @somathakur@gmail.com and you can also follow me on Instagram @somathakur.mothercoach for more updates.
In this episode, I am sharing about how to hydrate your skin in Winter for Mothers and Kids. Whenever Winter comes we rush to market to buy a branded Moisturizer or Lotions to soften and hydrate our skin including our Child. But is it really working or helpful to get rid of the dryness? Not at all, we need to start nourishing our body internally and have loads of those foods which is full of nutrition and have the power to hydrate. Here I am going to talk about those natural elements to add and have to take on a daily basis. The first natural element which is amazing and has healing properties is Coconut Water, which helps our body to hydrate and provides energy. Any season you can consume this on an empty stomach it has no sugar and is completely natural. Regular consumption of this water will help to reduce wrinkles, blemishes, and fine lines, acne. The second natural element which I love because of its benefits for babies to Old people is Ghee, which is very good for the skin and the overall body, in season 1, I mentioned Ghee's benefits for kids when they suffer from constipation, · softening and hydrate skin, provide a natural glow, lighten dark spots, repair dry or damaged skin, protect from cold, dry, windy weather and also treat cracked lips. No Lipbalm and any other lip dryness-restoring cream can beat this one. The third natural element which I love most and is very very good for our skin is fresh fruit juices, But definitely not the packed one which is available in the market, which has loads of artificial elements and sugar.Make your juices every day at home with fresh fruits and have those, every fruit is very good for our skin. Never use white sugar in your juices, natural sweetener in fruits is more than enough for our body. Forth natural element which is personally loved during this winter is Colorful Soups, we all crave hot soup, which has powerful nutrition which helps our skin to become healthy, why soup is healthy because we cook it less instead boil hence it's loaded with nutrition. The liquid form of food always helps our skin to be hydrated and to reduce dryness. This one we all know but I personally emphasize to everyone to keep in mind is to drink plenty of water which helps our body to be toxin-free, hydrating, and helps to digest food properly. Here before ending, I would like to offer you a magical homemade completely natural moisturizer that is completely safe for Mother and baby skin, take aloe Vera gel which works like sunscreen, then add coconut oil along with almond oil together and mix it nicely and before keeping it in a bottle add 04-5 strands of saffron and last, not the least don't forget to add 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oil for a nice fragrance. I love lavender, cooling water, and many more. And please don't forget to drink loads of water, Please listen to this episode and share your view and also if you have any topic on which you want me to cover on my Podcast please write to me @somathakur@gmail.com and you can also follow me on Instagram @somathakur.mothercoach for more updates.

In this episode, we are talking about Child Mental Health, and how important it is for a child to have a healthy Mind. In today's world, everything is in our access, all minute details our kids are well versed nowadays and they know very well if they need something the knows to behave accordingly in front of mothers. But one thing I always know is that Being mentally healthy during childhood means learning healthy skills and a child knows how to cope when there are problems. Mentally healthy children i have seen always have a positive quality of life, have a quality approach to mothers, and can function well in school and even at home. For example, it's my personal experience about my daughter that when she is having full faith in her, she performs well. She behaves well and she is having a full understanding of what she is thinking. But when she has doubt or confusion in her mind, or she has a confused mind, which keeps triggering her thoughts, she becomes completely a different person. Understanding what goes into her thought plays a very important role in order to support her mentally and helping her to be strong psychologically.Childhood has a critical stage of life for mental health. This is a time when rapid growth and development take place in the brain. Kids acquire cognitive and social-emotional skills that shape their future and also important for assuming what role they would be playing in future,Benefits of Kids' healthy Mental Health,The first and foremost thing which I have personally realized is their confidence level become high. if Kid's mental health is good, they feel strong and have the courage to face the world without any hesitation. Kids feel happy within and that reflects in their behavior. One more thing which I have to understand is they become strong in tough times, when things don't go the way they expect, they manage those situations very softly, Enjoying life becomes easy to flow for those kinds of kids who have a healthy mind, because when their thoughts are clear and they have proper ways how to enjoy life. Everything depends on my mind, if that is clear and anxious fewer things fall in place easily. The same thing happens with kids.Kids perform well in school and understand every bit of learning very easily. The study never gets cluttered for them and they absolutely enjoy the process.Even they will behave with friends and family and they get along really well with everyone. One more very important holding, which I have perceived is Children become so assertive, that they are ready to take on challenges and prepared to try new things. In this episode today I would like to talk about; What Parents Can Do for Children to Plant the Seeds of Lifelong Success,Give our child emotional support. "our job being a Mother is to love and accept our children for who they are. Even as we set limits for them, a child needs to feel loved through every emotion they have and through any behavior.Never shame our child. Avoid giving our children the message that they or their ideas are bad, especially with younger children. Every time not to control our child. Let me share with you this example whenever my daughter chooses to dress in mismatched clothing, I never say no it was bad or it doesn't look good on her, I just go with it. Otherwise, what I am doing here not sending her the message that "your own initiatives and decisions are not good. That can discourage her mentally.Avoid constantly correcting our child. if they put together a puzzle the "wrong" way, hold back from telling them they've done it wrong. Let them experiment and imagine a world where there is more than one right answer, more than one way to do something. "That's how our kids get to think outside the box. Think of the learning process as a series of experiments, not a series of tests. Kids especially young children don't define mistakes the way we do. "For them, it's all just a part of the process." For a child, if something doesn't work, it's an opportunity to learn and try again. Allowing our children to figure this out on their own teaches them flexibility and in turn, they can gather loads of confidence in themselves.Give children opportunities for engaging play, not just unstructured play. Kids need time to play in the outdoor world in whatever way they choose to. Let them discover things for themselves. This is how you nurture a creative and innovative thinker. Let them analyze and select how things have to be done.Teaching our child emotional balancing, but how does that happen. "It's our job to make our children happy but also we have to teach them to understand how to work through the bad times. We can't just neglect our child's feelings like sadness, disappointment, frustration, or fear, but what we can do is to help them recognize those feelings and educate them on how to deal with them. We need to be there with them, That's how they learn how to handle when things don't go the way we expect. "And that's how we'll raise a truly extraordinary human being. Please listen and share your view on this episode and let me know if you want me to cover any topic write to me at somathakur@gmail.com and for more updates follow me on Instagram @somathakur.mothercoach.
In this episode I am sharing thoughts about an important topic to talk about is increasing Constipation in kids, I am sure everyone must be thinking why today this topic. Since the summer season is on and sitting at home kids are not drinking enough water, and we all know how it helps food to digest properly and also helps to clear the motion. Not only liquid also roughage helps bowel movement, So 03 things which you need to include in your kids' routine are,1) offering enough liquid to kids, any kind of liquid which I have mentioned in my last episode.2) Any fruit which is seasonal like, in summer its mango, which we get easily in market and kids love to eat that. So without any hesitation offer them every day.3) Banana, it's the best for kids who are suffering from severe constipation. It's always recommended even for grown-ups to include this in their diet. But fortunately, most cases of constipation in children are temporary. Encouraging your child to make simple dietary changes and include a few things in their daily life can help them a long way toward alleviating constipation. Just we need to start making it a habit and things will automatically roll in. In this episode, I have been thinking to talk about this topic since summer is already here and the heat we can feel. I am sure lots of mothers will agree with me that we keep on thinking about, how we can keep our kids hydrated? Heat Waves are on and we really need to make sure that our kids are well hydrated, drinking enough water while traveling, even at home. Because the effects of kids not being hydrated are very harmful, let me tell you, how does it affect kids, First and foremost kids may feel fatigued, no energy in their body because the body needs a certain amount of fluids for cells. Since when they don't get what they need, they may feel tired or unable to activate themselves. The second reason is dark yellow urine – it happens and that's a reminder for mothers to understand that liquid intake should be more now. Constant yellow urine in kids is a sign of dehydration. The third reason is often you can see kids' dry lips, tongue, mouth, or throat. Kids even at home, have seen their lips are drying, sometimes definitely because of weather changes but most of the time it happens because of dehydration, that's why they feel thirsty often. The fourth important reason is that they may feel dizziness anywhere be in school or at home, so please keep a check on how much fluid intake is there for a child. So I request parents to keep a check on how much water they are drinking during day time. Even it also regulates body temperature.Especially during summer, kids don't feel like eating solid food, that's absolutely ok, but continuous fluid intake can help them for better functioning of their body and mind. Kids love to indulge themselves with refreshing juices, milkshakes, smoothies, and so many other health drinks. I think this is the best season for them to enjoy, let them create their own refreshments including loads of fruits, seeds and even other ingredients which can enhance the taste of summer drinks.Liquid intake during summer is very important and it not only help them to regulate the body system, but it also keeps jointly lubricated, prevents infections, and keeps organs functioning properly. Being well hydrated improves sleep quality and uplifts the mood of the child. Please listen and share your view on this episode and let me know if you want me to cover any topic write to me at somathakur@gmail.com and for more updates follow me on Instagram @somathakur.mothercoach.
In this episode, I am sharing about how Important to boost the Self-Esteem of a Child because a few days before I was discussing with one of my friends and she has shared how her 08 years old Son is always hesitating to express himself and finding it extremely hard to mingle with friends, people around and even in school.Because of their low self-esteem, he is not able to cope up with any mistake he does, not able to face the challenges, and not being able to believe in himself. His self-doubt always brings down and does not give to courage to involve in the activities. This is my personal recommendation to every parent, that after Immunity boosting if something is really important for kids is Boosting Self-Esteem. In this episode, I am discussing how women feel bad about their bodies post-pregnancy. The changes happen to our body giving us a few negative thoughts since so many changes we can feel in our body, we lose our skin glow and put on weight, sometimes becoming too bony. We always feel that we are no more beautiful the way we used to be before the pregnancy and we even feel we are not looking smart and good looking by wearing those dresses which we used to slay with. In this episode, I am sharing my thought on safe drinking water for Kids & families. Since last year we have been watching lots of changes in the world not to be ignored the COVID-19 and one more important factor is the Climatic Changes. I have been going through the world news and came to know that Europe, Asia and other parts of the world got highly affected with the climatic disruptions which include flood, hurricane, drought and severe Air pollution. Every corner of the world is facing challenges due to climatic changes and it directly hit on kids health. Due to these uncontrollable natural calamities, the most important element on earth which got affected is water. Water plays a very important role when it comes to living lives. A human being needs safe, unpolluted water to drink. In some of the African countries natural calamities are still a part of their daily life and due to that water gets contaminated every time and especially for school going children they are getting affected badly, stomach related infections developed and they are still carrying the pains. Pregnant mothers are finding it more challenging when it comes to safe water and since it directly affects the baby. Drinking unsafe water affecting the health of the baby and it may develop long term diseases. There are also some of the places where Water tanks are yet to get through the proper cleaning and testing process and which leads the families and the children to have trouble in their bodies due to a bad indigestion system. The first thing which got affected is kids' digestion system, because of constant consumption of unsafe water; they are finding themselves with lots of waterborne diseases. I have been finding this extremely important when it comes to clean drinking water not only for the children also for the grownups. We have no control over where the water comes, (the main source) but we can assure ourselves to drink safe water at home by taking few necessary steps which are easy and simple. but the question is how do we need to assure the water is safe? the only way I find it is economical and reliable is to boil the water. Boiling water doesn't mean using expensive equipment for boiling or cleaning which is available in the market, we need to simply boil it at home. But the question that must be arising in everyone's mind is Why do we need to boil? Why can't we just warm the water and drink, let me tell you, boiling water kills all the germs and bacteria completely and makes it safe to drink. Hence only warming water will not help, we need to boil it at least for 10 minutes. Please listen and share your view/thought on this episode and if you have any topic which you want me to cover on my show write to me at somathakur@gmail.com and follow me on Instagram @somathakur.mothercoach for more updates.
