Canada ranks 60th out of 187 countries when it comes to the representation of women in politics. Why are women underrepresented and what needs to be done to 'change' the 'lopsided' statistics? We spoke with Shari Greydon, CEO of Informed Opinions for insight.
We had the privilege and honor to speak with Greydon Clark - a screenwriter, director, producer, and actor that has earned a permanent place in the hearts of fans of late night and straight-to-video fare starting with 1973's Tom through 1998's sci-fi Stargames starring Tony Curtis. Greydon has so many stories to share that this episode is thirty minutes longer than our normal one. We touch on such films as Psychic Killer and Without Warning, and many others. Sit back and enjoy our conversation with the long-time great Greydon Clark. Also, new on the Creature Feature Show - Agent X2 : underwater adventure 1966 . Go ahead on, it's your move! The History and Legacy of “Mystery Science Theater 3000”, Chapter 13: Sunset on the Satellite.Mitchell returns for a surprisingly less fun cop movie: "Final Justice" starring the dyspeptic Joe Don Baker and directed by Greydon Clark, who last attacked your eyeballs and common decency with "Angels Revenge"!We'll dissect the Maltese Tourism Board's decision to let this gross crime thriller represent their country, discuss future topics in the form of Greydon's RiffTrax "classics", and analyze the cathartic potential of slob jokes.Plus, Mike tries to escape the Satellite over a bad JDB movie and leaves the bots a plaque honoring "Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo". This starts a huge Detour into the Herbie the Love Bug franchise. Keenan Wynn returns to scream like a feral lunatic, nasty stereotypes are around every turn, and many important questions are raised, namely:If Herbie is alive, are all cars alive? If cars are alive, what is humankind's place in the universe?Join your wonky yet affable host on this theological can of worms. Greydon talks into a microphone in his bathroom.
This may be a clickbait title but it applies to the episode since it ends with Greydon becoming that which he can't stand most--the person who says "I can't believe you haven't seen that!?" That's right folks I am the uncultured swine who has never seen Star Trek and rather than watching an episode now I am writing this description. So maybe I should change that. Anyway, enjoy the episode we do talk about Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs early on and stoicism from the ancient roman philosopher Seneca. We listened to Greydon's song ascension before diving into this episode and talk about the afterlife. Imagine being judged on your skill in your passion. Does that not give your life meaning immediately? If you're judged for a purpose then there can be no denying that you were put on this planet to fulfill a specific purpose. What's fascinating is this can play into freewill and predeterminism philosophies too. You can find a passion and pursue it to the point you declare it your church or you could be sent here to fulfill one purpose beyond your control. Also in typical Grey & Gold fashion we steer into hot button topics—today's topics include fascism, the confederate flag, and inhumane experiments by totalitarian governments. The mainstream rap and hip hop communities are known not only for a way with words and penchant for controversy, but also for occasional drama. Rapper Greydon Square is no exception. On this week's episode of Skepticality, Derek and Swoopy hang loose with Greydon and talk about his musical influences, being embraced by the atheist community — and why this Compton native (raised as a legal orphan by the Department of Children & Family Services of California) refuses to be a product of the system.
