Radio International's David Mann went to Belgium in 2017 and met up with Fabian Feyearts who represented Belgium at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Amsterdam with the song "Abracadabra" which came 5th in the Heineken Musical Hall which now is called AFAS Live. David caught up with Fabian some five years after he took part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. What has Fabian been up to?  Let's find out in this interview when David met Fabian Feyearts in 2017.     Eurovision Spotlight - The History of Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest: The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 was won by Nemo who represented Switzerland in Malmoe, Sweden this year with the song "The Code". With that victory Nemo took the contest back to Switzerland where it all begun in 1956 with the late Lys Assia from Switzerland being the first Winner of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Refrain". Celine Dion from Canada represented and won for Switzerland with the song "Ne partez pas sans moi" in 1988 giving Switzerland three victories. As a tradition the Team of Radio International reviews all the Eurovision entries of the upcoming host country and this week Chris Poppe continues the series in the Eurovision Spotlight taking a look at the Swiss entries to Eurovision. Testament's work ranges from spoken word poetry, playwrighting and composition, to essay writing, live beatbox show to radio presenting. Testament's work has received praise from Lemn Sissay, graphic novelist Alan Moore, actor and writer Patterson Joseph, BBC presenter Lauren Laverne and the progenitor of Hip-Hop himself DJ Koolherc. Testament's work as a rapper includes the celebrated Hip-Hop album Homecut: No Freedom Without Sacrifice, as well as several spoken word performances for BBC TV and BBC Radio (1xtra, Radio 4 and 6Music). In 2019 he was Channel 4 Writer in Residence at Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester. As a playwright Testament has written for theatres such as The Royal Court, Leeds Playhouse, The Globe and Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester among others. Testament's work for screen includes clients such as Netflix, Disney Plus, BBC and Channel 4. Over the years Testament has worked with a diverse range of people from Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Grammy winner Corinne Bailey Rae, Ray Parker Jnr, jazz legends Joe Lovano and Jean Toussaint, Mercury nominee Soweto Kinch and he won the BBC Urban Music Talent Award in 2007. Kendra Rinaldi has her own podcast called Grief, Gratitude, and the Gray in Between. She lost her 19-year-old sister when she was 21, suffered a miscarriage, and her mom died of Pancreatic cancer 4 years ago. She is all too familiar with grief. She started her podcast in March 2020 and has been interviewing people in all different walks of grief: loss of a spouse, friend, parent, and children. Her podcast “is about exploring the grief that occurs at different times in our lives and the gratitude that can come from growing through it.” She has been able to find gratitude in her own grief and wants to provide grievers with tools to help them through their grief as well as the knowledge that they aren't alone on their journey.
