Your meetings are costing you more than you think. Between time lost to bad notes, missed context between conversations, and documents that take days instead of minutes, the hidden tax of poor meeting intelligence adds up fast. Artem Koren, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at Sembly AI, is building the fix. His team started in 2019, well before AI was a buzzword, with one simple idea: if technology can understand what happens in a meeting, it can do a whole lot after one. In this episode, Shari and Artem unpack what it really takes to implement AI listening tools responsibly: How to vet AI vendors on security, and the questions that separate good tools from risky ones. Why transparency, not restriction, is the right answer to employee trust concerns. What a $100,000 investment in meeting AI actually returns, and why the number might surprise you. Artem started Sembly in 2019 with a straightforward premise: technology that understands meetings can do far more useful work after them. Today, Sembly's agentic AI builds a living library of meeting content, generates documents from entire interview pipelines, and has been shown to deliver a 25x ROI for its customers. Artem is a vocal advocate for transparent, consent-driven AI, and brings a product builder's clarity to the complex questions organizations face when adopting AI in the workplace. Brian #1: Using Django Tasks in production Tim Schilling shares how the Djangonaut Space website has been using Django's new tasks framework and some of the info missing from the official Django docs. Tasks require a third party package, django-tasks-db to actually run the tasks. Article walks through all changes necessary to get an email process running to notify admins of new testimonials. Cool simple example. With the db backend, you can monitor progress of tasks in the admin, to see which tasks are scheduled, completed, or have errors. Some wishes for the community to implement new tutorial in the Django docs Django Debug toolbar panel for tasks test/mock backend Great title for wish list: Thinks I'd like to see, but I'm too lazy to implement myself. Michael #2: Co-authored with Claude? Via Nik T. We don't put “executed on macOS”, “edited with PyCharm”, etc. in our commits. Why Claude? Seems like a growth hack to me, that I don't really care to participate in. Some projects that have formalized their thoughts on this: The Generative AI Policy Landscape in Open Source Adjust to turn off in ~/.claude/settings.json see the docs. { "attribution": { "commit": "", "pr": "" } } Brian #3: PyPI packages are increasing rapidly Artem Golubin There's been an increase of published packages per week on PyPI A pretty big increase in the last handful of months. 30% increase since 2025, clearly due to AI Artem is building hexora, a malicious Python code detector. Cool package too, it can: Audit project dependencies to catch potential supply-chain attacks Detect malicious scripts found on platforms like Pastebin, GitHub, or open directories Analyze IoC files from past security incidents Audit new packages uploaded to PyPi. Artem is using hexora to analyze recently published pypi packages and many are obviously vibecoded and trigger false positives for abuses of eval, exec, and subprocess Side note: I don't think that's necessarily a false positive. Not malicious, but maybe a stupid-code-detector? Lots are LLM related, Lots have bots contributing code Publishing rate is crazy, dozens to hundreds of published versions in a day is a bug, not a feature Brian's proposal, PyPI should limit releases per day for any package to something a sane human would do, even if they make a mistake on a release, to maybe like 2-3, definitely under 10, in a day. And if the repo has obvious agent contributors listed, maybe lower to the limit to 1-2 a day? Honestly, “move fast and break things” doesn't apply to breaking the commons. Michael #4: httpx2 More on the httpx, httpxyz, etc changes: Pydantic people started their own fork, httpx2. Michiel says “while we think httpxyz was definitely needed, we welcome httpx2 and think it should be the ‘blessed' fork.” Kludex, who is among other things maintainer of Starlette, was considering a fork As it stands, httpx2 is lacking the performance improvements they added to httpxyz. But it will not be long before they will add those, too. Also they already made some smart decisions: they are switching from certifi to truststore they are switching to compression.zstd on Python 3.14+, enabling zstd compression by default they merged httpcore and vendored it in their repository Discussion on Hacker News Extras Brian: The Four Horsemen of the LLM Apocalypse - Anarcat Django/JetBrains 2026 developer survey is open Pyrefly 1.0 : “meaning we are confident that Pyrefly is ready for production use.” Michael: Just about ready to release Python Web Security: OWASP Top 10 with Agentic AI course. Why does dentistry on social media look so perfect? Are those flawless before-and-after cases the reality of everyday practice—or just the highlight reel? And why aren't we talking more openly about the failures, frustrations, and imperfect outcomes that every dentist experiences? In this episode, Dr Artem Mkrtichyan joins Jaz for a refreshingly honest conversation about the realities of modern dentistry. Known for his candid and relatable social media posts, Dr. Artem has built a following by sharing what many dentists think—but rarely say out loud: dentistry is hard, results aren't always perfect, and social media often paints an unrealistic picture of the profession. https://youtu.be/uTKaeewgrgE Watch IC074 on YouTube Key Takeaways Social media has become a powerful tool for dentists to connect and share experiences. Mistakes in clinical practice are common and should be openly discussed. Rural practice may not always lead to higher income as expected. Success in dentistry is subjective and varies for each individual. Continuous learning and skill development are crucial for career growth. Financial freedom in dentistry is not guaranteed and varies widely. Networking and mentorship can significantly impact career progression. Social media can be leveraged to attract patients and build a personal brand. Artem Koren is the Co-founder & Chief Product Officer at Sembly AI, a company that develops AI-powered meeting intelligence technology, transforming conversations into structured insights and actionable data. He leads product vision and innovation, building tools that help organizations capture knowledge, automate workflows, and improve collaboration. With a background in systems engineering, enterprise consulting, and product leadership, he has held roles at EY and Visual Trading Systems and co-founded earlier ventures. Artem focuses on advancing human-AI collaboration by creating intelligent systems that enhance decision-making and productivity.  In this episode… Most work still resides in conversations — meetings, calls, and discussions where critical decisions are made but rarely captured in a usable way. What if every conversation could instantly turn into something actionable, eliminating the gap between talking and doing? Could AI finally bridge that disconnect and reshape how work gets done? Artem Koren, a longtime AI product leader and innovator, explains that AI can now transform raw conversations into structured outputs like proposals, reports, and workflows in real time. He highlights how capturing full meeting context allows systems to automate complex tasks, from identifying action items to generating deliverables without manual effort. The result is a shift from fragmented communication to continuous execution. By leveraging this context, teams can move faster, reduce repetitive work, and improve consistency across projects. He also notes that this approach enables smarter decision-making by preserving institutional knowledge. Over time, organizations become more efficient as AI continuously learns from their workflows. In this episode of the Inspired Insider Podcast, Dr. Jeremy Weisz sits down with Artem Koren, Co-founder & Chief Product Officer at Sembly AI, to talk about how AI is transforming meetings into actionable deliverables. They discuss automating sales proposals from conversations, using AI for real-time project reporting, and integrating AI into development workflows. Artem also shares insights on the rise of agentic AI and its impact on the future of work.

Ucrania: jóvenes aprenden a pilotear drones para poder elegir su destino en el frente

Enfoque internacional

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 13, 2026 2:54

"Personal branding is going to be exponentially more important moving forward. People aren't going to know who to trust. Is the information from ChatGPT real? They trust people. Send a textShould AI be in the room? Not "can it take notes" — but what actually happens when an AI system is listening to your leadership meetings, hiring interviews, and performance check-ins? When is that powerful? When is it a risk? And what guardrails do you need before you invite it in?My guest is Artem Koren, co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Sembly AI, a meeting intelligence platform he founded in 2019. Artem has spent years thinking about how AI can enrich the way humans work — rather than replace the human judgment at the centre of it.We dig into the "invisible colleague" problem — what happens to trust and psychological safety when people don't know whether AI is listening. We discuss why EU data protection regulations are making works councils push back against AI note-takers in performance reviews and hiring. And we unpack the hiring question: why most managers have never been trained to interview well, how AI can reduce bias and improve decision quality, and why AI should inform decisions but never make them.

Risk-based monitoring has been discussed in clinical research for more than a decade, yet many organizations still struggle to implement it in a meaningful and effective way. In this episode of the Clinical Trial Podcast, we sit down with Dr. Artem Andrianov, a leading expert in clinical data quality and risk-based quality management, to unpack what risk-based monitoring really means in today's regulatory landscape.  Artem has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and is the CEO and cofounder of Cyntegrity a company that specializes in data driven risk management in clinical trials. Together, they explore how the industry has evolved from traditional monitoring approaches to a more holistic model centered on risk-based quality management and quality by design.  Dr. Andrianov shares practical insights on common misconceptions, why simply reducing monitoring is not a strategy, and how technology and analytics can be used to proactively manage risk. The conversation also examines the changing role of CRAs, and the growing expectations from regulators and inspectors.

3486: Augury on Why AI Literacy Is Becoming a Core Skill for Every Worker

The Tech Blog Writer Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 15, 2025 31:42

What does it say about the future of work when AI competency starts to feel as expected as basic reading? That question sat with me throughout my latest conversation with Artem Kroupenev, VP of Strategy at Augury, who returns to the show with a perspective that lands with fresh clarity. Workforce costs remain high, industries are shifting, and the job market continues to reset its foundations. In that environment, Artem argues that AI literacy is no longer something ambitious candidates use to stand out. It is becoming a baseline expectation that employers will quietly assume. The way we talk about skills is changing, and the speed of that shift matters. Across our discussion, Artem reflects on how this transition is unfolding inside factories and industrial operations, where Augury has spent the last decade building predictive machine health systems. He describes a world where AI takes on tasks, not entire roles, and where the real opportunity for workers sits in judgment, collaboration, and the kind of problem solving that software cannot replicate. He highlights patterns from the SOPH 2025 data that show strong confidence across manufacturing leaders, yet also reveal a gap between optimism and real capability. It paints a picture of an industry moving quickly, yet still learning how to measure and translate AI value into outcomes people can trust. What struck me most was how Artem links mindset to readiness. Individuals who treat AI as a companion in their daily workflow, rather than a novelty to test occasionally, start building the fluency that future roles will quietly demand. Employers who approach AI simply as a tool upgrade often overlook the harder work of reshaping processes, KPIs, and expectations. And the organisations that fail to adapt risk widening the gap between AI empowered and AI hesitant teams, something Artem believes will show up in hiring, competition, and long term viability. This conversation looks beyond the usual headlines about automation and considers what the next five years might actually feel like for people joining the workforce or leading teams through change. If AI becomes as expected as reading and writing, what does that mean for education, career paths, and employer responsibility? I would love to hear your view.
