We review the weirdly satisfying Tingus Goose mobile game. It's created by SweatyChair with illustrations by Master Tingus. It's an idle game where you grow a goose tree out of a person to reach a certain height. It's weird but satisfying? We also have been dropping a lot for democracy in Helldivers 2. With our cumulative 100+ hours in the game, we share 10 things we wish we knew before starting Helldivers 2. Hopefully there are some tips we share you may not have been aware of too!We also talk about NetEase's new game Marvel's Rivals. It's very much going after the Overwatch market with a 6v6 hero-style shooter. Will it outrival Overwatch or will it fall short it delivering the experience we all want to play? Finally, Suicide Squad released Season 1 of their game featuring the Joker. Unfortunately, it's not what we expected and even more so there isn't really any new story content. There is a battle pass though (actually 2!) and it was enough to make us want to jump back into Arkham Knight.Show Notes:1:03 - Housekeeping2:14 - Tingus Goose Review15:15 - 10 Things We Wish We Knew Starting Helldivers 255:34 - Marvel's Rivals: Will It Outrival Overwatch?1:15:51 - Suicide Squad Brought Us Back to Arkham Knight1:44:20 - Upcoming Video Game Releases Become a part of the conversation! In Show 24.0, Mark and Jeff revisit the show topic of the Premier Episode of Gameopolis: our Top Ten Games lists. After 3-and-a-half years of podcasting, it was apparent that these lists needed to be revisited. Before going into our Top Ten lists, however, we satisfy tradition by opening up a Dusty Old Box. Mark presents Jeff with a Dusty Old Box from his past, and we discuss an overview of the rules, and the things Mark finds most memorable about the game. After the Dusty Old Box segment, Mark and Jeff do a coin toss (specifically, a dubloon toss) to determine who kicks-off the Top Ten lists. For each game, we give a brief description and then chat about the elements of the game that landed it on the Top Ten List. In our Sign-off, we briefly discuss the role IOS games have played in our recent gaming lives, and we extend the invite to our listeners to join us for some virtual gaming. You can find us on Game Center as "stinkytom" and "Funky-Bass-Jeff". Ethan and Matthew discuss the importance of iOS titles in their gaming diet and why the supposed “time killers” have made their lives more pleasurable. The Cursed Checkpoint is a topical video game podcast focused on discussions and interviews about a single video game, genre, news headline, or industry story. It features a rotating cast of up to 3 members of the Horrible Night writing staff and/or video game industry professionals. Episode Background The rest of the Horrible Crew keep making fun of Ethan’s enjoyment of iPad games, so his big littler brother shows up to make him feel better by agreeing with his stance on the subject. Focusing more on the iOS platform in general, they do a pretty solid job staying on topic but eventually get distracted about halfway through. Regardless, you’ll get a very good idea of the best places to play iPad games and why the Moses boys are having so much trouble with their feet falling asleep.
