You are going to learn so much from this episode. I know I did. David Schmidt is a Theologian, engineer, dad, and coach who has traveled over 5 decades with God and found Him faithful. It's been an adventure and time of growth the biggest wins are always experiencing God work when you trust Him and take Him at His word. God has blessed him by putting him into a Christian home and protected him from so many hardships and brokenness of this world. He is grateful and in awe of what goes on in the world. He was challenged to meditate on God's Word over 28 years ago and has always grown spiritually and in maturity when he would abide in God's Word and believes in acknowledging God in everything we do. Meditating on God's word will help you grow in your relationship with God. It takes effort, and work, like the man building his house on the rock, but well worth it. We talk about Biblical meditation, what that means, and the results that come from it. Biblical meditation is the filling of your mind with God's word, thinking upon it, understanding it, and ultimately being transformed by it. It is in stark contrast to the counterfeit meditation popularized today of emptying your mind. What Biblical meditation is: to dwell on anything in thought; to contemplated; to study, to turn or revolve any subject in the mind. Keeping God's Word (Keep is to watch...meditate) and benefits - John 14:21, 23, Eph 5:25-27 Tune into this empowering episode and share in the comments what you've received. My focus is working with up-and-coming executives in their 30s, accomplished leaders in their 40s, and established executives 50+ who are looking for a trusted advisor to help them make the right career move. My clients are highly intelligent, accomplished leaders who are making an impact on the companies they have worked for. But, when a private equity deal is done, a merger, or a new management team comes in, my clients turn to me for direction, accountability, and knowledge to guide them through the career search process. Since 2012, I've worked with over 1000 executives providing executive-level recruiting, career coaching, resume advice, interviewing techniques, writing business plans, and salary negotiations. Since 2007, I've been a life coach working with men who are struggling in life and providing one-on-one coaching to help them get unstuck. As a career coach, business owner, executive recruiter, real estate investor, entrepreneur, franchise owner, husband, father, and son I have had my fair share of life, business and career experiences. My passion is to help my clients find that perfect new job that will give them purpose. Making a career change is one of the most important decisions you will make in your lifetime. The 1895 Horseless Carriage Contest sponsored by the Chicago Times-Herald (aka "first" auto-race in America) - a peek into the WHAT, WHY. WHEN. WHERE, WHO beyond the auto history lore of a Duryea victory on a cold and snowy, Thanksgiving Day in Chicago. David Schmidt is a Director at the Society of Automotive Historians (SAH) as well as Panel Chair for the SAH Bradley Award. He is also a member of the Porsche Club of America and Fuelfed, a private club for enthusiasts of European cars. Born in Detroit, his father and grandfather both worked for GM at Fisher Body. Being a product of a certain generation he experienced the muscle car era first hand cruising the famed Woodward Avenue in the late 1960's. David received a BA from Michigan State University, MA and PhD from Indiana University and after a career in financial services retired from TIAA. As an auto enthusiast, he can be seen driving about town in a 1967 Volvo Amazon or 1989 Porsche Carrera. The importance of this event is perhaps best captured that same year by Peter Studebaker of the eponymous wagon maker who, with prescience, commended the sponsoring newspaper “... for transferring the manufacture of the motocycle (a term applied to the horseless carriage after a naming contest) concentrating the inventive faculties of the nation on this [horseless carriage] new departure.” ===== (Oo---x---oO) ===== 00:00 Introduction and Sponsors 00:16 The 1895 Horseless Carriage Contest Overview 00:37 Presenter Background: David Schmidt 01:21 Significance of the 1895 Race 02:53 Race Day Preparations and Challenges 07:10 The Thanksgiving Day Race 08:44 Post-Race Analysis and Awards 10:07 Impact and Legacy of the 1895 Race 10:43 Why the 1895 Race Was Held 11:29 The Role of the Chicago Times Herald 14:56 Rescheduling and Final Preparations 16:08 The Birth of American Auto Racing 16:28 Why Chicago? 18:18 The Bicycle Craze and Its Influence 19:44 Chicago: The Transportation Hub 20:30 Unsung Heroes of the Horseless Carriage 21:18 The Tragic Tale of Hieronymus Muller 22:06 Charles B. Imagine discovering that everything you've been taught to believe is a lie – having been drummed into you by a high-control cult since birth. When Dave came to this realisation in his early 30's, he recognised that the only way to be true to himself was to leave his past and start afresh. One of these companies, Advanced Applications Group, is a research and development center that specialized in energy-production technologies for both military and commercial applications. During his time with AAG, David developed new methods for producing hydrogen and oxygen, designed and prototyped multi-fueled, bladeless-turbine power generation systems, and constructed metal-combustion rocket engines. “Light therapy is unbelievably powerful and it certainly is the future of medicine,” says David Schmidt, CEO of health and wellness company LifeWave, who joins the Quantum Biology Collective podcast to discuss his X39 patch and its ability to completely change our current approach to anti-aging and, as a result, to fighting disease. Rather than injecting stem cells, exogenous substances or outside sources of light into the system, the patch works with the infrared light which exists inside of the body, communicates with the body's systems and sets changes in motion. On today's episode, David explains what separates his products from other forms of phototherapy and how his early work with the military and in cancer research led up to his work today. Nature and religion have also inspired David's research. He describes his findings from studies of flatworms, hydras and lobster—species which contain an abundance of stem cells, regenerate lost body parts and, as long as they are protected and properly provided for, are immortal. He also explains his belief that the equivalent of God's word is written in numeric form in the light frequencies of living species. In both nature and prayer, we can find the answers to our healing, David says. Join today's discussion to learn more. Quotes “I would say the single biggest difference between lifewave and other light therapy devices is that these products use modulated light which have information that can trigger a specific biochemical effect. (16:12 | David Schmidt) “As we age, the body actually emits more light, and this isn't a good thing because the cells are leaking. And when they're leaking this light, it interferes with the ability of the cells to be in homeostasis, be in balance. What we found with the energy patches when we did this back in 2008 or 2009, is that it decreases the light emission from the body to improve homeostasis. So, it brings the body back to balance and this is a very powerful anti-aging mechanism.” (21:40 | David Schmidt) “God, the Creator of the Universe, who created everything, put His fingerprint or signature, in numbers, in living species. And we can use that information to create new types of light therapy devices that can potentially stop and reverse human aging, not to mention treatment of disease.” (29:06 | David Schmidt) “The other reason, I think, to do this is to empower people, not just with information but with technology that they can use.” (39:57 | David Schmidt) “We're not injecting stem cells into the body; what we're really doing is getting the stem cells that are already in the body to act like younger cells. What happens is that we're tapping into the communication system that already exists in our bodies.” (48:09 | David Schmidt) Links To purchase the products discussed in this episode. Today's sermonette based on Matthew 4:12-25 is given by Rev. David Schmidt. This is a rebroadcast from September 27, 2017.
Richard Smith is unstoppable. The British fingerstyle guitarist has a grueling tour schedule, a busy Nashville studio that he recently adapted into a video studio, online music lessons, and probably a few projects that we don't even know about. But, mostly, he's got a lot of driving to do. In June, Richard stopped by the Fretboard Journal in between concert stops for a loose, caffeine-fueled chat about life on the road, the music of Chet Atkins, keeping your chops up, the brilliance of the house concert circuit, and so much more. We also talk about David Schmidt's piece in the Fretboard Journal #52 about learning "The Entertainer" thanks to Smith's online lesson and why Richard's goal is to be able to book 365 tour dates a year, but not play them. We packed a lot into the hour before his parking meter was up. It's a fun chat with one of the world's best guitarists. You'll love it. https://www.richardsmithmusic.com/ https://www.instagram.com/richardsmithmusic/ Love our podcast and want to support it? It's difficult to fathom how Benjamin Franklin accomplished so much in a single lifetime. It's equally difficult to imagine how to take such an incredible life and consolidate it into four hours of documentary film. In this episode, we cover both feats with writer Dayton Duncan and producer David Schmidt, two of the great minds behind Ken Burns' documentary on Benjamin Franklin. Dayton and David discuss Franklin's life, the work that goes into creating a historical documentary film, and their process for deciding the best way to tell an American icon's story in a pair of two-hour episodes. If you enjoy this episode, check out Ben and Bob's conversation with Ken Burns in episode #191. Are you interested in the patches? Please email patches@thewayfwrd.com In this episode, Alec sits down with David Schmidt, the inventor of LifeWave technology and founder and CEO of LifeWave. David's experience in business and product development spans over 30 years and includes a formal education in Management Information Systems and Biology at Pace University in Pleasantville, NY. David then went on to pursue several entrepreneurial endeavors and, as a result, owned successful companies involved in manufacturing and product development. One of these companies, Advanced Applications Group, is a research and development center that specialized in energy-production technologies for both military and commercial applications. As a result of his innovations, David was presented with an honorary doctorate by Dr. Alexander Marinaccio of the International Hall of Fame of Inventors. In addition, as a result of work performed in the design of emergency oxygen systems for General Dynamics and the U.S. Navy, David was invited to participate in the Navy's next generation mini-sub program. The LifeWave Technology was born out of three years of intense research by David into the concept of being able to naturally increase energy and stamina through elevation of fat burning, utilizing wireless communication to the human body via phototherapy. Globally, David is the holder of 94 issued patents, with many more being written. More than seventy of those issued patents are in the field of regenerative science and technology. One of his inventions, the Double Helix Conductor, produces a novel blend of electromagnetic and non-electromagnetic fields to improve the speed of wound healing that rivals that of stem-cell injections. This led to David realizing that phototherapy can be a means by which a person's own stem cells can be activated into a more youthful state as opposed to requiring an injection of expensive and potentially dangerous stem cells. Hence, after ten years of study, the X39® patch was born. Are you interested in the patches? The timber industry has always been a part of western life, especially where I grew up in Wallowa County. As a kid, there were 5 sawmills here, running 24/7. But due to harvest regulation changes, there were zero by the time I graduated high school. A lot of hard-working folks lost their jobs overnight and our local economy was in crisis. David Schmidt was the first to open a new mill in the county, but with a very different business model. David found the timber industry at an early age. After seeing bark beetle infested lumber wasted, he decided to go to Oregon State University to study Wood Science and Engineering. David wanted to figure out how to better use wood in forest products, which he did his senior year by making cross laminated timber. Now, with his company, Heartwood biomass, David is focused on restorative logging that maintains forest health, while still providing good paying jobs and quality wood products. In this week's Flightless Bird, David Farrier sets out to understand why America - despite all its advancements in innovation and technology - has decided to stick with the puzzling shower curtain. Why, while countries like New Zealand embrace the shower door, is America stuck in a long-term love affair with the fabric (or sometimes plastic) mistress? David calls his old friend Harvey from the Toilets episode to discuss American showering habits, before spending the day with the self-proclaimed “Glass Queen” who spends her days removing shower curtains and replacing them with glistening shower doors. He talks to professor David Schmidt about his complex mathematical simulations of shower curtains, to discover why the shower curtain insists on sticking to your body while you shower. Maybe this is a clue to why 66% of Americans shower daily, compared with 80% of Australians… and why 10 million Americans shower once a week or less.

How do we know what we know about Benjamin Franklin? We know historians, museum curators, and archivists rely on historical documents and objects to find and learn information about the past. But how does a documentary filmmaker present what they know about history through video? David Schmidt works as a senior producer at Florentine Films where he worked alongside Ken Burns to produce a 2-episode documentary about the life of Benjamin Franklin. The documentary is called Benjamin Franklin and Schmidt joins us for a behind-the-scenes tour of documentary filmmaking and to investigate some of the lesser-known details of Ben Franklin's life.
