We are asked to inquire into who we are and how we exist. Some of the most powerful teaching on Enlightenment by the world's greatest teacher, not heard until now. Laodicea – (7 of 7) The seventh and final letter dictated to John, in Revelation, addresses the final type of waywardness exhibited in the churches. When believers in Jesus were on fire with love they were like tall, flaming torches boldly announcing their faith to everyone around and, in particular, to their enemies, both Jews and Romans. But by blending in, they were less noticed, less hassled. The seduction to stay active but in a non-spiritual, non-threatening, way was great. The wealthy commercial hub around the Laodiceans was a perfectly convenient environment in which to swim ‘under the radar.' Revelation 3:14-22 1. v. 14 – Jesus claims his role ____________________________________________ 2. vv. 15, 16 – Jesus expresses ____________________________________________ 3. vv. 17-19 – Jesus proposes ___________________________________________ 4. vv. 20-22 – Jesus ______________________________________________________
In this class we talk about the very first followers of Jesus and what they believed and practiced, what's in the gospels of Thomas and the Gospel of Truth of Valentinius, what Paul of Tarsus taught, how the Church formed, the Council of Nicea and destruction of the original Church. From Steven Sadleir's books Looking for God and Christ Enlightened, the Lost Teachings of Jesus Unveiled.
Philadelphia – (6 of 7) The letter to the church in Philadelphia was most likely the one received by all seven churches with the greatest enthusiasm, the greatest encouragement. Each letter was a kind of Kingdom report card or something akin to an employee's annual review and was received with a measure of trepidation. But this letter! Not just ‘E' for effort, but a full-on congratulations for the way the members faced trials and persecutions and dug deep wells of joyful worship to sustain them in their holy faith. Philadelphia's was, and continues to be, the archetypal church. Revelation 3: 7-13 1. v. 7 – Jesus claims Truth, Holiness, and ________________________________ 2. v. 8 – Jesus _________________________________________________________ 3. v. 9 – Jesus _________________________________________________________ 4. v. 10-13 – Jesus _____________________________________________________ Joy is our portion in his fellowship. . . It is his joy . . . a robust joy, with no small element of outright hilarity in it. For nothing less than joy can sustain us in the kingdom rightness that possesses us, which truly is a weighty and powerful thing to bear. Dallas Willard ----------------------------------------------------- Joy is a celebration of the ‘crowded kindnesses of God' in daily life. Alexander Maclaren
Sardis – (5 of 7) From the very beginning of the church Jesus birthed through his disciples, there were wobbles, some discouraging, some devastating. Sixty years along in this tendency, Jesus found it necessary to address these problems to reset the then-current course and to set the bar for future generations of his church, including, and more importantly for us, those in the 21st Century. His judgments are just and his love is impeccable. Revelation 3:1-6 1. v. 1a – The Lover of our Souls __________________________________________ 2. v. 4 – The Lover of our Souls ___________________________________________ 3. vv. 1b-3, 5,6 – The Lover of our Souls ___________________________________
Thyatira – (4 of 7) On this first Sunday of Advent, 2023, focusing on the theme of Hope, there is evident, a startling contrast between the sweet Babe in the manger, the serene young couple gazing on their newborn, and the towering, fearsome and fiery, image of the victorious forever, risen Son of God, who has been given the Name above all Names. It is He, ‘the One whose voice was like the roar of many rushing waters' (Rev. 1:15, TPT) who dictates this fourth of seven letters to His church. “Ask me to give you the nations and I will do it, and they shall become your legacy. Your domain will stretch to the ends of the earth. And you will shepherd them with unlimited authority, crushing their rebellion as an iron rod smashes jars of clay!” Psalm 2:8,9 TPT. Revelation 2:18-29 1. v. 18 - The ‘Babe of Bethlehem' ____________________________ 2. vv. 19, 24,25 – The ‘Babe of Bethlehem' ____________________ 3. vv. 20-23 – The ‘Babe of Bethlehem' ________________________ 4. vv. 26-29 – The ‘Babe of Bethlehem' ________________________ (Isaiah 9:2, 2 Peter 1:19, Rev. 22:16)
Pergamum – (3 of 7) “. . . Jesus, the Anointed One, unveils the truth wrapped in tender mercy.” John 1:17, TPT “Your Word is truth!” John 17:17, TPT The prophetic image of Jesus with a double-edged sword coming from his mouth, might have been terrible were it not for the Word's healing instruction. It was a visual of the double-edged beauty of truth and mercy surgically piercing hearts to clear the way to wholeness. The Lover of our souls now dictates a third letter, this time as the One who is holding the purity of his beloved to the highest standard, that of truth. And this, so that he might see everyone come to repentance and belonging. His supreme invitation to his purified bride, his beloved, is to the wedding feast. Revelation 2:12-17 1. v. 12 - The Lover's _________________ 2. v. 13 – The Lover's _________________ 3. v. 14-16 – The Lover's _____________ 4. v. 17 – The Lover's ________________
Smyrna – (2 of 7) As the ‘firstborn from the dead,' Jesus is literally the victorious, living proof of life after death. He is Lord of Lords and King of Kings! He is the Alpha and the Omega, the author and finisher of Salvation, the Lover of souls now his. Now and for all eternity, he stands in enemy-annihilating power and beyond-describing majesty. “[Jesus] is destined to reign as King until all hostility has been subdued and placed under his feet. And the last enemy to be subdued and eliminated is death itself.” (1 Corinthians 15:25,26). The vast scope of Salvation enfolds the whole Church securely in its love-oozing embrace. Revelation 2:8-11 1. v. 8 – the Lover's _______________ declaration 2. v. 9 – the Lover's________________ declaration 3. v. 10 – the Lover's ______________ declaration 4. v. 11 - the Lover's ______________ declaration
Ephesus (1 of 7) Jesus introduced the Kingdom of his Father to as many as he could reach. He demonstrated it through miracles and parables and his own lifestyle and taught all who would listen. He intentionally put himself in harm's way rather than compromise the purity of his love mission. Driven by that love, he submitted himself to arrest, false accusations, beating, crucifixion and death. He rose triumphant as the ‘firstborn from the dead' gaining the right to intercede for, and lead, his church-about-to-be-born, then and now. Revelation 2:1-7 1. v.1 – the Lover's all-seeing ____________________________________________ 2. vv. 2,3,6 – the Lover's sincere _________________________________________ 3. vv. 4,5– the Lover's ___________________________________________________ 4. v. 7 – the Lover's elaborate ___________________________________________
Within the first ten years there were divisions in the Church which caused the suppression of Christ's word. Here we look at what we lost and what has happened since. These are the Last Days, prophecy is being fulfilled and we are being called to enlighten via the Word. Just listen, it's rapture. Message from the 10am service held on Sunday 6 November, 2022, by Ps Adrian Buggs.
Are the seals, trumpets, and bowls spoken of in Revelation the end times? Or is the manifestation of Jesus in a people revealed in pictures?
This seventh chapter of Steven's autobiography begins with his research on first century Christianity, the Lost Books and a visit to Israel and concludes with the publication of Christ Enlightened, the Lost Teachings of Jesus Unveiled. Followed by stories on the writing of his other books Money & Power, The Secret History, The Theory of Existence & The Science of Consciousness and The Natural Health Handbook. Steven's books are on AMAZON More on this at www.EnlightenmentTV.com
We conclude with the missionary work of Paul of Tarsus and a brief history of the Church and end with Revelation and the fulfillment of Prophecy. From Steven Sadleir's books Looking for God, a Seeker's Guide to Religious and Spiritual Groups and Christ Enlightened, the Lost Teachings of Jesus Unveiled.
The New Testament in summary. Over half of what Jesus said and was recorded in the first century was omitted from the New Testament, so Steven includes the Gospels of Thomas, James, Philip, Mary and other scriptures most people have not yet heard. Wait until what else Jesus said, it will enlighten you. From Steven's book on Amazon: Christ Enlightened, the Lost Teachings of Jesus Unveiled
John's first vision begins with the stunning sight of the risen Jesus. Behold him afresh and worship Him with passion!
The Merriam-Webster dictionary/description of the word "transfiguration" reads as follows: "The Gospels relate that one day Jesus took three disciples up a mountain, where they witnessed his transfiguration into divine form: his face shone like the sun, his garments became brilliantly white, and a voice from heaven proclaimed that this was the son of God. Transfiguration was first used in English as the name of this biblical event... So the word has always kept a somewhat religious—and almost always positive—tone. A face may be transfigured by joy, and an "ugly duckling" may be slowly transfigured into a radiant beauty." ---------- This Sunday, Frank shares from a passage in Mark chapter 9 that is often simply titled, "The Transfiguration." But what did seeing Jesus in this light/manner do for his disciples? What does it do for us when we consider the purpose and meaning of this event? ---------- We hope that as you join us and hear the Word of God taught, that His Spirit would guide you into an understanding that helps you to grow in wisdom and in truth.

This is the greatest story never told about the greatest story every told. After writing Christ Enlightened, the Lost Teachings of Jesus Unveiled, a Hollywood producer asked Steven to write a screenplay based on the new findings outlined in his book. This is the story how Steven was guided by God to first write Looking for God, then Christ Enlightened and then the Screenplay. One miraculous story after the other, and the screenplay will blow your mind.
In this finale episode, I ask bestselling author Keith Giles some of the questions that I've heard most often from folks who are deconstructing. Why did Jesus have to die? What happened on the cross? What do I do with the resurrection? Where did this monster version of God come from? What does it mean to be born again? And many other questions. Near the end of the conversation, Keith turned the tables and asked me a few questions about my experiences creating The Messy Spirituality Podcast and what it feels like here at the end of that journey. Keith Giles is a former pastor who left the pulpit to follow Jesus. He is the author of the bestselling "Jesus Un" series which includes: "Jesus Untangled", "Jesus Unbound", "Jesus Unveiled", "Jesus Undefeated", "Jesus Unexpected", and his latest release- "Jesus Unforsaken". Keith is also an insightful teacher, podcaster, and Patheos contributor. In this third in the Bible Secrets series, Steven Sadleir dives into what is in those books that were not included in the New Testament, specifically the books that the actual Jewish Apostles were using in the Holy Land, including: The Book of Thomas, and the Gospels of James, Thomas, Philip and Mary, among others. Listen to what those that walked with Jesus recorded and said what said, but most have never heard. From Steven's books Looking for God, a Seeker's Guide to Religious and Spiritual Groups of the World and Christ Enlightened, the Lost Teachings of Jesus Unveiled. On Amazon.
In this second episode or sermon on Bible Secrets, Steven Sadleir explains the composition of first century Israel and the various sects, including the Essenes who wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls, which he goes over in class. He discusses John the Baptist's role and how the Way to find the Kingdom that lies within involved meditation, introspection and prayer in a form we call The Kabbalah. Steven reads from the Zohar and other texts that help explain how Christians in first century meditated, reflected and prayed. In this heartfelt and moving conversation, author Keith Giles and I discuss his transition from holding a view of eternal conscious torment (burning forever in hell) to annihilationism and then to his current view of patristic universalism. We also discuss common objections to ultimate redemption. Keith is one of four co-hosts of the insanely popular Heretic Happy Hour podcast. He has written several excellent books including Jesus Untangled, Jesus Unbound, Jesus Unveiled, Jesus Unexpected, and literally wrote the book on the subject we're going to be talking about today: Jesus Undefeated: Condemning the False Doctrine of Eternal Torment. He is one of four co-hosts of the Heretic Happy Hour podcast, writes a popular column for Patheos, and teaches a variety of courses that help lead people away from toxic theology and towards freedom. His new book, Jesus Unexpected: Ending the End Times to Become the Second Coming, releases on August 25th. The Mind Renewed : Thinking Christianly in a New World Order
Would many of today's churches be recognisable to the earliest Christians? Did Jesus envisage cathedrals with mitre-adorned bishops or megachurches with suit-wearing pastors? Or has something important been lost—or, at least, obscured from full vision—over the centuries? We are joined by Keith Giles—author of the well-known "Jesus Un..." series—for a bracing conversation on his challenging 2019 book, Jesus Unveiled : Forsaking Church as We Know It for Ekklesia as God Intended. Keith, "who abandoned the pulpit to follow Jesus", shares with us from his experience how it's possible to recapture "being church" through taking Jesus at His word and together encountering Him directly. "Keith Giles is a former pastor who abandoned the pulpit to follow Jesus and ended up founding a church where 100% of the offering is given away to help the poor in the community. He is the author of several best-selling books including Jesus Untangled, Jesus Unbound, and Jesus Unveiled. He lives with his wife, Wendy, in El Paso, Texas." During the first century there were many books being read and studied by the Semitic Christians living in the Middle East while those in Europe were following St. Paul. There were many books read dating to first century or early second, still over 100 years before the New Testament was compiled, that share more deeply what Jesus was teaching. These include The Gospel of Thomas, Book of Thomas, Gospel of James, etc. Come listen to what else Jesus was reported to have said. All from Steven's book Christ Enlightened, the Lost Teachings of Jesus Unveiled.
In this Satsang Steven provides a brief overview of the history of the Jews and the Bible leading to the Maccabean revolt and restoration of Judaism we celebrate as Hanukkah. This also provides the background for the Gospel. What led up to the advent of a/the Messiah. For episode two of our new raw and uncut series "Messy Conversations", I spoke to my friend "Jesus Undefeated" author Keith Giles. We talk about the three dominant afterlife doctrines of the early church, Keith's own evolving views, why it matters what we believe about the afterlife, and how Keith handles very public (and often, mean-spirited) criticism. Keith is a co-host of the Heretic Happy Hour Podcast. Check out Keith's blog here. Keith writes incredible books that challenge, educate, and inspire us to follow Jesus more closely. I highly recommend Jesus Untangled, Jesus Unbound, Jesus Unveiled, and his latest (and possibly, best) book, Jesus Undefeated. In this lecture, Steven first goes back to Moses, the commandments and the Torah, and then dives into Babayonian and Sumarian accounts of Adam and the Flood. Then to the Dead Sea Scrolls, the world's oldest written Old Testament along with the Apocrapha and tables speaking on the Essene sect of Jews in Qumran, John The Baptist and the early Jesus movement. We take a moment to go over the first and second century Semetic Gospels that the Apostles were reading, such as the Gospels of Thomas, James and Mary, and then explain Paul of Tarsus and his evangelical movement, coming up to the first compilations of Biblical verses and collections of chapters, the Council of Nicea and a hundred years of deciding what to take as faith. Coming up to The Dark Ages, the Reformation, and the first English Bibles and how it changed the face of Christianity. By the end of this lecture you will know more about Christian history than most priests. It's all for the love of God. Just wait until to hear what else Jesus said. Learn more from Steven's book Christ Enlightened, the Lost Teachings of Jesus Unveiled.
Do we live in the End Times? Is Judgement Day upon us? Are we entering an Age of Enlightenment and about to destroy most of the Earth and create Heaven on Earth? Many Jews, Christians and Moslems believe it, and other too in some form or another. Steven draws upon his years of study on world religions for his best-seller Looking for God, A Seeker's Guide to Religious and Spiritual Paths of the World, and Christ Enlightened, the Lost Teachings of Jesus Unveiled, as well as current events to provide an in depth look at our Age and the times. Steven goes over 20 Prophesy's that either appear to have been fulfilled or are being fulfilled. Drawing from the Old Testament and New, and the Quaran, an amazing about of things were foreseen thousands of years in the past, were recorded, and either have come about or look like they may...any day. See for yourself. If we are entering the Age of Enlightenment, if Jesus is coming, or any calamities to come, it would be good to know about it. Bless you. THINK 2019 | Revelation | Session 3 | Jesus Unveiled by King's Church London
What kind of book is Revelation? How are we supposed to make sense of it, and what is it fundamentally about? Andrew opens our new teaching series on the Bible’s last word. “Revelation is an unveiling, an unmasking, a disclosure of the powers at work behind the scenes. The world looks like a sequence of material causes, until the spiritual dynamics behind them are revealed.” “Jesus says to John: you have absolutely nothing to fear. I am the first and the last, and the living one. I have been through death, and I will live forever, and I have the keys of the grave in my pocket.”
In this forth talk on Jews and Jesus in the first century, Steven Sadleir continues drawing upon the new discoveries discussed in his book Christ Enlightened, the Lost Teachings of Jesus Unveiled. Excepts from the Gospels of Philip and Mary, the apostolic fathers, the church fathers, and the development of the New Testament over the first four centuries, including Constantine and the Council of Nicea. Learn what else Jesus had to say. He was showing us the way to find the kingdom of heaven that lies within us. This is the revelation.
Steven Sadleir talks about the other codex's that have been found from the first and second centuries that were not included in the New Testament. These include The Dialog of the Savior, The Thunder Perfect Mind, The Gospel of Thomas, The Book of Thomas, the Gospel of James, Philip and Mary. What is Gnostic, and why is it important to know what is in these ancient books? Why has this been kept from people? Learn more. Here, Jesus is showing us the Way to find the Kingdom of Heaven that lies within us, which is Enlightenment. Steven reads from his book on the subject: Christ Enlightened, the Lost Teachings of Jesus Unveiled (on Barnes & Nobel)
Next in this series on the early Church, Steven shares who the first Christians were: The Essenes, the God Fearers, the Aramaic Gospel and church, the Gnostics, Valentinius, the Apostle Paul, the Greco-Roman world, Mitra, the Lost Gospels of Jesus, Constantine and the Council of Nicea. Steven reads from his book Christ Enlightened, the Lost Teachings of Jesus Unveiled, and shares what Jesus is reported to have said as recorded by his own Apostles, but which we have not heard. Christ was showing the Way to find the Kingdom of Heaven that lies within us.
In this series of lectures based on Steven's book Christ Enlightened, the Lost Teachings of Jesus Unveiled (on Amazon), Steven explains the various sects of Judaism, what the Roman Historians recorded, what is in the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Kabbalah and the Essenes. The most recent science and reconstruction of history provides us even greater clarity to what Jesus was actually teaching. The Kingdom of Heaven lies within. This lecture explains what this means.
