After 25 years, detective Frank Washington teams up with his old partner, Joe Marshall, to investigate a bunch of gang-related deaths.Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance is the sequel to Samurai Cop, which was a movie that we absolutely loved. It was hilarious in all the best ways and very entertaining. Although Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance didn't provide the same level of engagement, it was still a fun film in how crazy it was. It brought back all of our favorite characters from the first movie, played by Mathew Karedas and Mark Frazer, and added Tommy Wiseau. Watch the movie and catch our review. In this thought-provoking episode of Conf T, hosts Bryan Young and Tom Porto sit down with Joe Marshall, also known as Rooster Cogburn. Joe, a Senior Security Strategist with Talos, brings his expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning to the table. AI vs ML: We kick off the episode by addressing a common confusion - what is the difference between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML)? Thanks to an enlightening explanation from ChatGPT, we now know that AI is the broader concept of machines being able to carry out tasks in a way we would consider 'smart', while ML is a specific subset of AI that involves the idea of training machines on data to learn and make decisions. AI Confidence and Source Citation: A deep dive into the issues surrounding AI's confidence and its lack of source citation. We discuss why it's so important for AI to cite its sources and how it can be improved. Ethical Guardrails in AI: Joe gives an insightful perspective on the ethical guardrails in place for AI and how they can potentially be circumvented, sparking a thoughtful debate on the ethical use of this technology. AI Sentience: Is AI sentient? This question sparks a fascinating discussion about the nature of sentience and how it applies, or doesn't apply, to AI. AI and the Dark Web: We explore the sinister side of AI with a look at its use on the Dark Web. How is AI being leveraged by those operating outside the law, and what can be done about it? AI for Phishing and Other Nefarious Tasks: We delve into the concerning issue of AI being used for phishing and other malicious activities. What are the implications, and how can we defend against it? AI Pranks: On a lighter note, we discuss some of the more amusing uses of AI, sharing anecdotes about pranks and other humorous applications and even pulling one live on the show on Mr. Porto. Combating AI-Driven Cybersecurity Threats: Joe gives his expert advice on how to go on the offensive against AI-driven cybersecurity threats. Using Failure to Determine Personhood: An intriguing concept is presented - using failure as a way to determine whether an entity is a real person or AI. Future of AI: Finally, we contemplate the future of AI, now that the barrier to entry has been drastically lowered. What's next on the horizon for this rapidly evolving technology? Tune in to gain some valuable insights into these topics and much more. Whether you're a tech enthusiast or a professional in the field, this is an episode you won't want to miss.

In 2017, Michael Gove called Brexit an ‘unfrozen moment' which would allow ministers to address long-standing criticisms of the EU Common Agricultural Policy and free the government to radically reform the way it supports farmers. So will redirecting England's £2.4 billion annual farm budget deliver a substantial Brexit dividend? Will reforms bring about everything farmers, environmentalists and taxpayers expect? And can those changes be delivered while the sector is coping with labour shortages, rising energy prices, new trade deals and post-Brexit regulatory changes? And how can policy on food, farming and land use help the government meet its ambitions on net zero, levelling up and tackling obesity? With post-Brexit agricultural reforms the subject of a new IfG report, Agriculture after Brexit: Replacing the CAP, this event will discussed what needs to be done to ensure a better future for food, farming and land use in England. On the panel: Jonathan Baker, Deputy Director in the Future Farming and Countryside Programme at Defra Minette Batters, President of the National Farmers' Union (NFU) Sue Pritchard, Chief Executive of The Food Farming & Countryside Commission (FFCC) Beccy Speight, Chief Executive of the Royal Society of the Protection of Birds (RSPB) This event was chaired by Joe Marshall, Senior Researcher at the Institute for Government. Is Your Marriage Necessary? What do communication, accountability and unity look like in your blend? We'll talk about that and more in Episode #66!In today's episode, we meet Joe Marshall and learn of his passion for loving people, how he got from the US to Australia, and God's called to the missionary life. Not unlike many of you when Joe received direction from God, he wasn't so sure God had picked the right guy (or the right place). Fortunately, there's a lovely woman involved in Joe's story, who was key to God's calling.Joe shares examples of cultural differences between what he grew up experiencing and the cultural norms he's been living in for the past two decades in Australia. Some of those cultural shifts include language barriers, societal shifts, and everyday church life activities. Hey, if you're in a blended family, you can definitely relate to cultural shifts because as you know, oftentimes it can feel like you're living in another country as your new family blends.Find out more about Joe Marshall!New Beginnings Baptist Church | FacebookNew Beginnings Baptist Church | WebsiteLike this episode? Nearly a year on from the end of the Brexit transition period, Jill Rutter, James Kane, Jess Sargeant and Joe Marshall from the IfG's Brexit team and UK in a Changing Europe's Professor Anand Menon, look back at how the UK is adjusting to life outside the EU and what to look out for in the UK-EU relationship in the year ahead. The Northern Ireland Protocol, Anglo-French fishing disputes, the Brexit opportunities agenda and the UK's post-Brexit trade deals are just some of the items on the festive menu in this special joint podcast between the Institute for Government and the UK in a Changing Europe. Thanks for joining our weekly show where we talk about all of the random films our listeners suggest for us! This week's movie is the 1991 cult classic Samurai Cop! It is a very problematic "film" and we had a LOT to say about it. Joe Marshall and Frank Washington are two tenacious police detectives who seek at all costs to stop the Katana, a renegade Yakuza gang composed of violent and sadistic killers who want to lead the drug trade in Los Angeles. Be sure to check out our website for pictures, videos, and timestamps that we reference in the episode.
