When Stewart Johnson staged a one-man No Kings Day protest in front of the U.S. Embassy in Estonia, his image went viral. Stewart tells the story, and paints a picture of a the country he's fallen in love with. He also discusses government by oligarchs, the Singing Revolution, humor as an educational tool, and spins tales of being the first person to ever do stand-up comedy in a country. The creator of Estonia's first cancer comedy and first movie in English (*The Chuck Band Show"), Steward is also the author of the book Tales from Estonia. No Kings Day and The Role of the Media by The Indypendent
This week's episode dives straight into the No Kings protest, where nearly eight million people took to the streets to push back against Trump and the creeping rot of authoritarianism. It was the largest protest in American history, a moment that felt like the country briefly remembered what collective power looks like before the morning hangover set in. And on the other side, we had the tankies those chronically online, do-nothing leftists who spent the weekend insisting that protest is pointless. The same self sabotaging geniuses who told people not to vote in 2024 because “it wouldn't matter,” which sure helped Trump slide right back into power. They call it radical theory and praxis. We call it performative nihilism and contrarianism with WiFi.
After the smashing success of last weekend's No Kings Day/No Tyrants Day marches around the world, Trump's team was so triggered, they posted one of the most disrespectful AI videos yet. Let's talk about it. And thank you to everyone who showed up and supported No Kings Day in their own ways.Tune in to Episode 253 of The Bill Kelly Podcast for conversations in critical times. This episode was recorded on October 21, 2025.Don't forget to like, share, comment and subscribe to support Bill's work! The United States is in a politically turbulent time, one that calls for residents to stand up against injustice. We speak to historian Gerald Horne for this month's episode of The F-Word on fascism. And do voting rights for Black people discriminate against whites? We hear from attorneys who just argued a landmark voting rights case before the Supreme Court. Plus headlines on No Kings Day, Israel violates ceasefire and tortures prisoners, and more. The show is made possible only by our volunteer energy, our resolve to keep the people's voices on the air, and by support from our listeners. A burger run after a high school football game should be forgettable. Instead, teens were pulled from their cars, handcuffed, and taken to a station for violating a 10 p.m. curfew - no drugs, no fights, no vandalism. We follow that one night in LA County to its bigger meanings: how “law and order” becomes spectacle, how small policies teach big lessons about power, and how a first brush with policing can harden into lifelong distrust. From there we widen the frame. A leaked trove of messages from young Republican leaders celebrates Hitler, throws racist slurs, and jokes about rape. It isn't an outlier - it's an accelerant. We talk about what broke for some white Americans during Obama's presidency and why euphemisms no longer help. If you're tired of talking about race, imagine living with it daily. Allyship can't be a bumper sticker; it's the choice to speak up in rooms where it's easiest to stay quiet, to challenge family myths, and to back policy changes that stop criminalizing kids for being kids. There is light. Nearly every major outlet just rejected a Pentagon demand to sign a gag agreement, drawing a line for press freedom. Organizers are mobilizing for No Kings Day, a reminder that power answers to the people, not the other way around. We share practical steps: push for diversion over arrests, demand proportional policing, support local journalism, and rotate rest so burnout doesn't win. The throughline is simple: dignity should not be a luxury, and a late-night order of fries should never be a criminal act.If this conversation moved you, share it with a friend, leave a review, and hit follow so you won't miss what's next. Drawing on his experience as RNC chairman, Michael Steele offers a direct critique of the political machine, specifically addressing the deliberate uniformity of messaging observed at major rallies. His analysis culminates in a profound concern: the calculated use of language and messaging is actively contributing to the dangerous rise of a "kingship mentality" and centralized power structure within the GOP. Saturday is the second No Kings Day – it should be the biggest single day of protest in American history, with more than 2,500 events planned. Leah Greenberg will explain the preparations – she's co-founder of Indivisible, the group that called the first No Kings day, June 14 – five million people participated in that one, held the same day as Trump's birthday parade – the one no one came to.Also: there's “a forthrightly antifascist film” that critics call “wild and thrilling” -- of course, that's “One Battle After Another,” the Paul Thomas Anderson movie starring Leonardo di Caprio as a burnt out left wing bomber, targeted by an ICE captain played by Sean Penn. Segment 1: • “No Kings Day” raises deeper questions—do we actually want a King? • In a world of political chaos and rising persecution, Christians must remember: Jesus reigns. • America may reject kingship, but your soul was made to serve one. Segment 2: • Brandon Lake says it's time to ditch hymns—revealing our shallow view of worship. • Small churches are stronger in faithfulness; megachurches invite spectators, not soldiers. • The therapy trend among pastors points to a deeper crisis of biblical confidence. Segment 3: • Brandon Lake performs emotional worship on American Idol—but where's the theology? • Worship isn't therapy—it's truth that transforms. • Weak worship might be what's weakening the church. Segment 4: • Luther Seminary in MN is shutting down—another sign of theological decay. • A filed-away statement of faith is not the same as actually teaching truth. • Even when institutions collapse, Christ remains faithful. ___ Thanks for listening! The Royals just lost a homestand. Every game. All very similar as the bats are so silent you can hear yourself breath inside Kauffman Stadium. Is this the end of the 2025 season? Should the Royals be thinking about trading away players to build a better team down the road? Well, somehow they are still only 3 games back of a playoff spot so we think they'll be hanging on a few more weeks. But, man, its ugly. The US Open Golf Championship at Oakmont in Pennsylvania was a hot mess from start to finish but what a little known journeyman named JJ Spaun did on the 72nd hole is the stuff of legend. A guest columnist pens a nice piece in support of NKC being the best location for a new Royals Stadium. KU Athletic Director Travis Goff says KU will spend more of it's salary cap money for Bill Self's basketball team than almost any other school. Army 250 and No Kings Day made headlines this weekend. One was a celebration of American Greatness, the other a collection of misfits bitching about Trump being a King. And No Kings Day was plenty peaceful in KC but deadly in Utah and Minnesota. Pope Leo appeared on the Jumbotron at White Sox park for a special mass this weekend. Rand Paul may be on board with the Big Beautiful Bill and Fenway Park workers may go on strike.

This weekend promises to be a doozy with a military parade in DC and protests across the rest of the country. Plus, Donald Trump had some interesting words on the future of immigration, and get the latest on the scene in Israel after the country struck Iran overnight.
On this episode of “Sara Gonzales Unfiltered,” Democrats ramp up the rhetoric in preparation for the “peaceful protests” planned for the weekend. The protest event is called “No Kings Day,” and Democrats argue that Trump is a tyrannical king that needs to be opposed. Next, Democratic Governors JB Pritzker (Ill.), Tim Walz (Minn.), and Kathy Hochul (N.Y.) were grilled by House Republicans over their sanctuary cities. Finally, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) complains about white supremacy. Today's Guests: Sara is joined via Zoom by BlazeTV contributor Matthew Marsden. Today's Headlines: Nationwide protests against ICE raids are ramping up ahead of “No Kings Day,” a weekend of counter-programming to Trump's birthday military parade. Trump declared he “liberated” LA in a speech to troops, while California Gov. Gavin Newsom criticized the military deployment. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott followed by mobilizing the state's National Guard. Trump also announced a pending U.S.-China trade deal that would ease rare earth exports and partially lift U.S. export restrictions, though tariffs on Chinese imports will remain steep. Meanwhile, the U.S. is extending its tariff pause for other countries—contradicting earlier White House statements. Inflation rose just 0.1% in May, bringing the annual rate to 2.4%. Elon Musk publicly apologized to Trump after a reported intervention by GOP allies, seemingly ending their brief online feud. The U.S. is evacuating staff from parts of the Middle East as tensions with Iran escalate. Trump also urged Israel to halt its Gaza offensive and threats toward Iran. Domestically, the EPA is moving to repeal major pollution regulations on coal and gas plants, including mercury emissions. And in New York, Harvey Weinstein was found guilty on one charge of sexual assault, with the jury still deliberating on a third.
