It's about giving back to others and helping them succeed wherever and however they want to succeed. “If I have knowledge and experience that I can share, I'm gonna share it…”Nikki talks briefly about getting both Profit Share and Growth Share, and explains that Growth Share is what it's called internationally and is paid out quarterly (among a few other light differences).Nikki and Linda tell the story of how they met and how their journey has intertwined since 1994, which led to them attending the first Megacamp together. Boise Real Estate Market | Put in the Legwork By her late twenties, Christina Ward had already established herself as a premier agent in the Boise real estate market. But it was a hard fall when the great recession of 2008 hit. For all of us, the recession was a test of will—but Christina saw an opportunity to let her grit and determination to shine through. Instead of wavering in self-pity, Christina nearly broke the bank to attend a professional development seminar. She went from zero closes in five months to seven closes in one month; proof that whenever you’re feeling stuck, you can always invest in yourself! No Substitute for Grit and Determination We all know what we could be doing or should be doing to grow our businesses, but it will only make a difference if you put in the legwork. Christina has been relentless on the phones; she hired a coach and an assistant; she stayed in touch with the database to remain top of mind. By identifying a strategy and team configuration that worked for her, Christina built a powerful presence in the Boise real estate market and doubled her business in a year. Sometimes we are the only thing in our way, but there are measures you can put in place to move past that. Simple Rules As you know, we are big fans of ‘simple rules’ here at Pursuing Freedom. Christina designates what she is going to do and when she is going to do it, leaving space to ebb and flow instead of filling every hour to the brim. Unless it is an emergency, Christina doesn’t take appointments in the morning and she doesn’t do business development activities on Wednesday or Friday so she can spend time with her kids. We all got into this to attain time and financial freedom—putting a small amount of structure and discipline in place will help you maximize both, while simultaneously increasing revenue-producing activities! The age-old adage could not be more truthful: work smarter, not harder! It is the reason Christina dominates the Boise real estate market. About Christina Ward As a top producing agent in Boise, Christina has excelled in helping buyers, sellers and investors meet their goals. In 2013, she was named one of Real Trends Top 3 individual agents in Idaho. Christina also received the Idaho Business Review 40 Under 40 Award in 2011. She is currently the Team Leader of Christina & Company at Keller Williams Realty Boise. In 2017 the team was ranked in the top 20 real estate teams in the state by Real Trends. Christina and her husband Lane were #1 in KW Cares contributions (a charity that helps their peers in need) in their market center in 2017. Christina has closed over 800 transactions in her 13 year career with more than 570 of those closing in the last 5 years. 85% of her team's sales come from referral or repeat business. Christina was a college athlete who loves to win, while also serving her clients and sharing what she learns with others in the industry. In addition to her many professional endeavors, Christina is married to Lane Ward and has two kids, Spencer and Emma. Without consistency, it’s hard to get to the next level and stay there. Why is it so important to lay out your goals and know where your business is going to come from? How can consequences move you closer to your goals? How can we be both students and teachers? On this episode, Tony Baroni shares his journey to freedom in his business and talks about creating a life and business by design. If you're coachable, your coach will take you where you want to go. -Tony Baroni Three Things We Learned From This Episode Your numbers are important Be clear on your numbers. Know where the money is coming from, how much you’re using, and what is left. When you have the numbers, including your salaries, it gives you a metric of where to land in those categories to ensure success. Sometimes fear of a consequence can be motivating When it comes to setting your goals, one of the most powerful incentives you can set is a consequence for when you don’t do what you need to do. For Tony, that was donating $1,000 to KW Cares whenever he didn’t give his coach is 4-1-1 goals. Leverage often means firing yourself from a specific role so someone else can do it more efficiently Tony ended up doing all the work in his organization, including taking photographs and doing the listing of the properties. Being a great photographer, he thought he could do it. His coach challenged him to “fire” himself from this role so he could hire someone else and leverage his business. Giving is awesome, and it feels great. Make sure you have it in your budget and your business plan for 2018 to be able to give back to your community. The following are some ways that we like to give back. In 2013, devastating tornadoes hit our neighbors in Moore, Oklahoma. They hit so close to home that at that point in May, we chose to, as a team, donate $100 of all the rest of our closings that year back to the relief efforts in that area, including the food bank, the Salvation Army, United Way, and so on. That felt really good; we got to give back about $4,000, which really makes a difference. As a team, we chose to continue with that feeling of giving and charity. Since then, for every closing that we have, we call up our client after closing and thank them so much for allowing us to help them choose which organizations we can give to in their name. “WHEN PEOPLE GIVE, IT MAKES THEM FEEL GOOD, AND THEN WE ALL FEEL GOOD.” Honestly, those are the best conversations ever. When people give, it makes them feel good, and then we all feel good. Another way we give as a team is on our green sheets. If you’re with Keller Williams Realty, we have distribution authorizations that pull donations out of our money at closing automatically. Our team gives to the Keller Williams Kids Can organization, as well as KW Cares. Don’t forget that there are ways to give that are mindless and easy, and just feel great. Let me know what ideas you come up with! I’d love to hear other ways that you’re giving. And guess what? If you already have this in your budget, when disaster strikes our country, you’ll be able to be first on call to give back. I look forward to hearing from you.
When Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Houston, it brought with it over two feet of rain and left in its wake tens of thousands of displaced people and hundreds of thousands more without power. I recently had the opportunity to travel down to the Houston area with my Keller Williams colleagues to lend a hand to homeowners whose homes had flooded due to Hurricane Harvey. Overall, this experience has been incredibly rewarding. I got to help a lot of families, but there are many more people who still need help. “Overall, this experience has been incredibly rewarding.” Rebuilding these areas is going to take more than a couple of weeks, so it’s important that we keep the energy going in the coming months as we help people get back to their normal lives. Please consider donating to our Red Relief program. Your contributions will help us supply food, water, clothing, and building supplies to these communities. If you have any questions about KW Cares, the Red Relief program, and our ongoing disaster relief efforts, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. I appreciate your support as we work to help others through this difficult time. Sincerely, Seth DaileyOperating Partner at Keller Williams Gateway

KW Cares is a 501(c)(3) public charity established 11 years ago to help agents and their families when they are confronted with emergencies that are beyond their control. Most agents contribute with every transaction and the totals add up quickly. The charity allows agents a safety net should something unexpected happen to them or their families. Whether it's cancer, medical emergencies, accidents, or natural disasters, KW Cares is there to contribute to various agents' medical bills when they start to pile up.Essentially, this program provides help when it's most needed. By having a pool of funds to help people in moments of crisis, KW Cares lets agents know their backs are covered. It's a great program, so we thought we would share a few highlights.
