Chadi became a real estate agent in 1997 when his son was born, but during those early years Chadi realized he was missing out on all of life's magical moments with his son, and so he realized he needed to make big changes to his business… and his mindset. During our conversation, Chadi discussed why getting clear on what he wanted from life was the first step in shifting his real estate mindset and really moving the needle. He moved from Michigan to California and tackled real estate with clarity and purpose, and he booked over $100,000 in commissions in the first 30 days and took his first listing in the first 24 hours! If you're feeling stuck and not making the progress you want for your business, perhaps it's time to get clear on your goals and change your real estate mindset. Shifting Your Real Estate Mindset Step one for Chadi in shifting his real estate mindset was clearly envisioning and defining what he wanted his life to look like. As Chadi explained in our conversation, the key is found in “speed of implementation.” It's about swiftly putting into place the right strategies and systems that will help you get closer to that perfect future vision. Chadi suggests an exercise: think about what 2022 would look like if it were as good as it could possibly be. What would your day-to-day life look like? Next, write a letter as if it were December 31, 2022, and you were wanting to tell someone all about your successes for the last year. What would your letter say? Get detailed and super specific about your goals and intentions! The Power of “Believe” As Chadi explained, the word “believe” is the most powerful word that can change your future. If you know exactly what you want the future to look like, and if you focus on believing that you will have exactly that ideal future, you create a powerful real estate mindset that will inspire and energize you to get there. I got into the real estate industry in 1997 when my son was born because I wanted to give him a life full of abundance. However, for the first two years I struggled like most agents do, and instead of spending more time with my son, I spent day and night building the business. Chadi grew up in Dearborn, Michigan, where he saw his father work tirelessly to make ends meet. He says that he always had this thing inside of him that said that he going to be a game changer. He got involved in real estate around 1997, while working other part time jobs as well. He started doing well in real estate, but life wasn't the way he envisioned it to be. Then, he was exposed to Mike Ferry, and Chadi started to think differently in ways he'd never thought before. His goal was now to make a hundred thousand dollars a year. He decided to move to Newport Beach, California. He got to work right away and got to the six-figure mark in the first year. There, he was doing one-on-one coaching sessions as well, and being around these masterminds broadened his horizon as well. He started thinking to himself, what would it be like to make a hundred thousand dollars a month? Chadi got a six figure raise from Mike, but he decided to part ways and start his own real estate business. He took his first listing in the first 24 hours, and secured over a hundred thousand dollars worth of commissions in his first 30 days. From there, he started coaching again, something that had become his passion. Since then, he has been on over 30,000 one-on-one coaching calls. Chadi adds that the decision to leave a high paying job, to start his own business was scary, but that meant that on the other side was his freedom. He trained his mind to believe that on the other side of his fear is the freedom, but alongside that, he had the right mindset, skills and tools as well. He adds that being around great thinker, they're constantly injecting you and changing your DNA and you can't help yourself but to level up to just try to get to that level. He says that your environment, and what is around you has a significant impact on you, especially the people that you choose to go out there, hang out with. Being in a mastermind group helped him form a routine, something he did not have previously in his life, and that changed everything for him. He says that we're a product of our rituals, something that he practices in his daily routine to change his peak and state. Chadi adds that you would get a lot better results if you are feeling good, as opposed to when you are forcing yourself to do the same. He says that there is no substitution for your work ethic and you doing the work. Talking about what can help agents improve their real estate game, he says that the single most important thing to master is the listing presentation. Then, you got to identify where the sellers are. Chadi then goes on to share the five steps that will help your listing presentation. Step number one is, is the introduction. You have to master because your first impression as it is going to dictate the remainder of the listing presentation. While talking to the potential client, you have to use the assumptive language patterns. Step number two is to reconnect and motivate, again using assumptive language patterns. Step number three would be the pricing part of the presentation. Step number four is to close; nine out of 10-times listing presentation ends right there. Step number five is your marketing plan of action. If you need that, as a backup, share it with them. Chadi shares the formula and the process that agents should go through before they actually get out of their car to walk through the property, to get them in the right state and to be able to transfer, showcase their confidence, authority and expertise, and get that listing. He adds that the power of visualization can change your state and energy, and you would walk in feeling completely better, and that'd increase your odds of communicating at a higher level that gets the contract signed. Talking about the different markets, Chadi adds that you can't control what's going to happen in the external market. You have to focus on the internal market. He adds that regardless of what happens in the market, keep on working on you being the best version of yourself, and your craft to make sure that you're able to service your clients and community at a higher level than everyone else in the marketplace, and as the marketplace does what the marketplace is going to do, it's not going to impact your income. Chadi says that the next wave of opportunity is going to be ‘for sale by owners' and ‘expireds.' So, you got to get your skill up right now while there's few of them. He recommends REDX, Vulcan7 and Espresso Agent for finding those listings. Talking about if he could change one thing that would have gotten him success much sooner, he says, it would be hiring help. He says that one mistake that people make when they begin to hire is that a lot of times, they hire a buyer's agent before they hire an assistant. To help people take action, Chadi says that try the following exercise. Grab a piece of paper and a pen and audit yourself, but not audit yourself, looking for all the negative flaws that you possess, because we all have those. Take inventory of all the beauty that already lies inside of you and start looking at that. He says that what you will discover is that you're much more beautiful than you think to be. You're much more creative than you think you are. You are much more powerful than you ever imagined you could be. It's just that your mind has been clouded looking at things from a different angle and a different lens. Create a plan to get through the next ninety days. Do the hard work once. Most people identify struggles and look for shortcuts. Instead, overcome the struggles. There are many reasons that you should not shut down right now. Consider the power of creating content right now. In every crisis, there's an opportunity. Keep yourself healthy and sane and then strategize on how to keep the lights on and how to thrive when opportunities open up. Chadi shares advice for people on the listing agent side. He reminds listing agents to be human and compassionate. They need to have conversations that are in the client's best interest. It's ok to lose a deal right now. Don't lose the client. Don't call expireds to list the property. Call to answer questions they may have about how they've been impacted by the crisis. They could be picked up as a lead. Get creative and be strategic right now. People are being forced to adapt to technology. The real game-changer is going to be psychology and understanding how people make decisions. Chadi is spending time with his clients developing sales skills. Once you've mastered reading people, you become a very magnetic person. Chadi discusses how he uses neurolinguistic programming (NLP) skills when communicating. Figure out what is best for the client and find the right words to help them realize what is best. Building rapport is a skill that you've got to learn. NLP is more advanced and requires a foundation in the sales process. Chadi learned NLP through his extensive training with the Ferry brothers. It took him five days a week for eighteen months in a row to master it. Two things got him to where he is now. He changed his environment and got around people who wanted to improve. He also radically changed what he was doing with his alone time. You have to want to be better. Changing your environment is the quickest way to create lasting change. Invest in yourself. Nice and Simple Common Sense, just to show you how smart I really am. (LoL)   I would definitely call everyone in my database, dont let it be a business call, this is A how are you doing call, A can I help you with anything during this time kind of call, personal, not business. FSBOS, well guess what, fsbos are freaking out now, they dont understand real estate and market conditions like you do, so now they need you more than ever. CALL THEM. and if things get back faster, they are going to remember that you were the one there for them during this time. EXPIREDS, the ones that still need to sell, way less people are calling them, less competition. STAY AWAY from the people who are treating what is going on like its the end of the world, dont let their fears become your fears. Love one another and let your words of wisdom become their strength to think better, act better, feel better and become better so they too can get through this.   That is it, see how smart I am.   As far as ME.   I am avoiding all things that distract me. (way WAY less Social Media Browsing) (Way WAY more Marketing-Everyone is online) I continue to feed my mind positive things so I can best serve you and my family. Eating healthy like usual and keeping my immune system strong. And doubling down on my business. I only think about and do things that are within my control. The doubts and fears we have about ourselves are blinders that distort our experiences and actions. What daily exercises can we use to start lifting the blinders so we can see opportunity instead of difficulty? How does belief impact our ability to generate more listings? How do we engineer more confidence in ourselves? On this episode, Chadi Bazzi joins me to talk about how we can start achieving more by simply changing what we think and what we say. You’ll learn a practical exercise to add to your morning routine and a trick for helping you believe.   The secret has absolutely nothing to do with lead generation. The real secret is the belief and the desire. -Chadi Bazzi   3 Things We Learned From This Episode How to create a positive belief system We might not always believe in ourselves or our capabilities, but we can trick ourselves to do it. “Every liar eventually believes their lies”. So we can engineer a belief by telling ourselves things that support us in becoming the ultimate version of ourselves.  The more that we say good things, the more we believe them and the more we become them. Build affirmations on your deepest doubts Daily affirmations are an important part of changing the beliefs that drive our actions. A simple exercise we can do is to identify the thing that we don’t believe to be true about ourselves that we wish was true. That is the secret ingredient to take you and your life to the next level. The power of writing goals in present tense When we set goals for income, we often make the mistake of writing it down in future tense, but it’s a lot more powerful to write it in the present tense. So instead of saying “I want to make $100,000 this year”, we should say, “I attract and earn $100,000 this year.” This makes this an active thing instead of something we will only do later.   Getting more listings and generating more leads starts in our minds, with the things we believe about ourselves and abilities. We have to learn to nurture a mental and emotional state that helps us achieve our goals. That means being clear on our goals, constantly telling ourselves we’re capable of anything, and having the desire to get to the next level. When we have this, and boost it by connecting with people and being good at what we do, we become unstoppable. The majority of the population is made up of followers. -Chadi Bazzi Three Things We Learned   How to get instant credibility as a new agent As a new agent, the best way to increase your credibility is to gather endorsements from the people who already like you. Your mentor (if you have one) can also help you with endorsements. This works even better since now you can leverage their credibility. Why it's better to lose a sale than stain your reputation Agents who only chase the commission and don't have their clients' best interests in mind make the industry look bad. You have to do the opposite if you want to build a reputation and stay in the business for years to come. This may even mean that you'll have to advise your clients against your interests and tell them that it's not the right time to sell or buy.   To change somebody's mind, you have to know how they think first Leads are easy to get, especially in the digital age. But conversion is where things get tricky. If you want to impress during the first meeting, you have to do more than qualifying the potential client for wants and needs. You need to find out how they process information and what their mindset is. Once you know this, you can speak their language.   To become a top agent, you need a routine that keeps you on track. And the routine starts with shifting your mindset and actually working towards your goal even when it gets hard. Writing down your top 3 goals, having at least 4 affirmations, finding reasons to be thankful for your life, and making note of your accomplishments in the present tense are just a few ways you can stay motivated and energized on the daily basis.
