They discuss how big of a win this is for the Pacers and what the Knicks need to do to bounce back in Game 2. They will also give their thoughts on the Oklahoma City Thunder's blowout victory in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. Ben Ennis and Brent Gunning kick off The FAN Morning Show on the Leafs' impressive win Saturday night against Kyle Dubas' new team, the Pittsburgh Penguins. B&B breakdown what was the most stunning part of the night: the team putting on the offensive show they did without Auston Matthews or Martin Jones getting the shutout. They discuss players that had a major impact in that game like Knies and Domi as well as wonder if the team should ride the play of a hot goaltender in Martin Jones that maybe nobody expected. Next the morning duo turn their attention to the NFL and the weekend action (37:50). They wonder if the Bills and Niners proved that they are the cream of the crop in their respective conferences, what playoff-bound teams could be frauds and who the League MVP is at this point of the season. The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliate.

The Miami Dolphins reached the bye leading the AFC East with a record of 6-3. While the rest of the division is in action this weekend, the Dolphins will rest up after falling to the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 5. Looking ahead to the final stretch of the season, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa currently has the fourth-best odds to win NFL MVP — what needs to happen over the final eight games for him to secure the award? Tagovailoa leads the league in passing yards and touchdowns, and wide receiver Tyreek Hill leads the league with 1,076 receiving yards on the year. On top of that, Raheem Mostert leads the league with 11 rushing touchdowns. Would continued success for Hill and Mostert diminish or build Tagovailoa's case for MVP? John Murry has never had it easy. Although he is currently the reigning league MVP in Morocco and accomplished a Cup Championship in his first season in the league, it was a long uphill climb to reach that level. John joins us to tell his story. He starts by detailing his unique high school to college transition. John was nearly an ineligible and un-recruitable high school senior due to fraudulent prep schools that he attended not getting the proper accreditations. Instead of graduating high school and being able to join the NCAA, John was forced to get his GED — an alternative high school equivalency diploma that comes from a series of tests & not a school or high school curriculum. This meant that John had to take the Junior College (JuCo) route in order to fulfill his dreams to play D1 basketball — which he did. After 2 seasons at Austin Peay, John went pro. His pro journey also started off rocky. John cited getting injured and cut multiple times within the first few years of his career. John found himself working his way up the ranks, starting from the bottom and clawing his way to higher level leagues each season. Currently, John is in his second season in the Moroccan first division following a very impressive introduction to the league, winning the league MVP & Cup title. John takes us along his journey every step of the way and shares insightful lessons he learned from all the ups and downs. Episode Title Does winning league MVP three times in a row make you an all-time great player? For example, LeBron James has won four NBA MVP awards and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. Winning league MVP awards is certainly an impressive feat, but it does not necessarily make a player an all-time great. Other factors such as regular season and playoff success, longevity, and influence on the game all contribute to a player's legacy and their status as an all-time great.Tune in Monday starting at 8 PM ET for "Simplee Sportz" with two of the best comedic sports commentators RG (@rgainesii) & 1MIC (@iam_1mic).
