Serial killer movies follow a typical approach. Furnishing gruesome murders executed in cold blood, they try to depict sociopaths as those who just can't help themselves when presented with an opportunity. To make matters even more horrific, these slayings are often committed without any remorse. Luckily, these crazed killers usually have an eye for a particular kind of victim which eventually helps narrow down their profile. But there are films where these serial killers don't stick to a definite MO and their victims don't share a common profile either. And for fans of such serial killer movies, today's Lost and Found is dedicated to the 1995 thriller Copycat.
Buffy tries to figure out what to do with her new lease on life. Should she go back to school? Work construction? Or retail? The Trio's shenanigans threaten to derail her new life plans before they've even started. Spike cheats at kitten poker. Author Kendare Blake joins us again to talk about why this episode is a light in a dark season. Hear us discuss… Not the Scoobies gaslighting Buffy again The show was really worried its sexism in the workplace would be too subtle Go, mummy hand, gooooo! We rank the Trio's attempts on our own scale Drunk Buffy is a sight to see Trigger warnings Alcohol use, sexism

Gilmore Girls S6 E5 "We've Got Magic to Do"/Buffy S6 E5 "Life Serial"While Buffy and Paris are forced into blue-collar jobs, Rory is coerced into white-collar event planning. Buffy and Rory must face their demons: for Buffy, literal ones per ushe, and for Rory... the Huntzbergers. While 3 childish boys throw a series of trials at Buffy, a group of caffeinated children throws fistfuls of glitter at Lorelai. Tiffs ensue when Lorelai suggests Luke go camping alone and Spike drags Buffy along for poker night. Both episodes end with poignant glances from the girls' current father figures. Emily delivers an epic monologue. And we say sheath a lot.Want more content? Sing up for our Patreon! Mark Twitchell was an aspiring filmmaker with a successful cult film, a wife and a young child. But he harbored a dark secret, the inexplicable desire to become a serial killer, partly inspired by the fictional character Dexter from the eponymous show. This week, Savannah explores how Mark was able to catfish two unsuspecting men from dating sites into his makeshift "kill room," which ultimately led to him murdering Johnny Altinger on October 10, 2008. Savannah also explores the many manifestos he wrote that make it clear that, had investigators not caught him, he would've certainly killed again. Love Killer Instincts but hate the ads? Twenty-two years ago, Stuart Knight did something courageous, daring and uncommon. He listened to his heart. It told him that too many people were not living up to their potential, and he decided to do something about it. At the ripe age of 24, with no money or experience, he wrote an inspiring theatre show for teenagers. Within a short amount of time, it was picked up by Coca-Cola and toured nationally for three years. From there he decided to become the first Canadian ever to write and star in a musical that he produced in his own loft. No small feat considering he couldn't play an instrument. It became the longest-running play of its kind, and A-list influencers lined up to witness sold-out shows in a theatre Stuart not only built, but also lived in. During that time, some of the world's biggest business leaders recognized Stuart as a visionary who could help their organization reach new levels of success. Since then Stuart has been flown around the world, speaking in places such as Sydney, Malta, Edinburgh, Mumbai, New York, Frankfurt and Las Vegas helping Fortune 500 companies learn what it takes to be the best. As Stuart Knight's success flourished, he wanted to do something that would help raise thousands of dollars for charities around the world and decided to create the Top Ten Event, which is now one of Canada's biggest speaking extravaganzas. The event has quickly grown into one of Canada's must-see events, garnering over 30 million media impressions and has starred such names as Jim Cuddy, Deepa Mehta, Mary Walsh, Steven Page, and two-time Oscar Award Winner Jane Fonda. On top of all of this, Stuart Knight is an award-winning entrepreneur, a critically acclaimed author of two books, an expert panelist on numerous television shows, the host of a hit radio show, has a sought-after podcast, and has over twelve thousand people from around the world tuning in each week to watch his thought-provoking videos online. As a disrupter, thought leader, and maverick, Stuart Knight has inspired over one million people to reach greater success, find deeper joy, and to ultimately boycott what they thought. In this episode, Stuart joins Paul to share his ideas on a number of topics including how to make the best of this COVID19 pandemic. For more on Stuart, be ready to boycott what you thought and visit his websites at: www.stuartknight.com https://toptenevent.com/
This is gonna be great. If loving Jonathan and Andrew is wrong, AND IT IS, then Noelle and Lani have some serious inner work to do as they talk about Life Serial (S6.05).
JustLeah and JoshPrime are stuck in a time loop where they must record this episode of the podcast until you are satisfied. Or Josh's computer broke. Either way. This is a fun one where Buffy can't be a construction worker, or a student, or a shop clerk. Maybe she should look into food service.Support the show (https://shop.spreadshirt.com/JandLWatches/)

“Mist...cemetery...Halloween. Should end well.” Stephanie Graves is back with me to discuss two more episodes of the Happy Funtime Show, otherwise known as Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 6. In episode 605, “Life Serial,” we get some genuine laughs as the show finds the humor in young adults struggling to find their way in the grown up world. There’s ANOTHER damn numbered shirt; Jonathan has a magic bone; and the second most important character in the entire series (after Spike) finally shows up: CLEM! And then, in 606, “All the Way,” Tara’s not much into timber; Giles cleans his glasses; and Dawn goes parking. Next: it’s gonna be an all-singing, all-dancing podcast extravaganza as we finally get to the Big Show...episode 607, “Once More, With Feeling.” (Note: I will not actually be singing or dancing.) “Every night I save you.” Clearly I’ve set my listener expectations in terms of my Season 6 feelings. So to keep myself honest, it seems I have decided to frontload those discussions of Depression: The Series with avowed superfans of said season. Following on the heels of last week’s talk with Season 6 expert Elizabeth Rambo, this week I’m joined by possibly the most passionate Sixer I’ve ever met, former Hollywood script doctor and Buffy scholar Faith Currant. After I get over the shock of her methods for introducing new fans to the world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Faith and I go on to discuss Jungian psychology, the Buddhist idea of the bardo state, the disambiguation of “Normal Again,” and why, despite my troubled history with this era of the Slayer saga, “After Life” has always been and will always be one of my favorite episodes in the Whedonverse. (Hint: I like Spike. Surprise!) Next: PhD student, author, and Mr. Pointy Award-winner Stephanie Graves returns to discuss episodes 605, “Life Serial,” and 606, “All the Way.” THE CROSSOVER Angel 305, “Fredless.” This episode ends with Buffy going to meet Angel. “Fredless” opens with Angel coming back from that meeting. At this point in production, direct crossovers, with actors appearing on both shows is forbidden by the competing networks. Season 6 episode 5 and we are getting silly! Which one witchy woman finds to be a nice change in pace. But Buff seems to be struggling with it. I would normally try and use some fun words to describe serious stuff. But everything has an air of...absurdity? Buffy throwing back shots with Spike who is playing a seedy poker game with a motley crew of nasty baddies. Buffy being Groundhog Day'd in a first day of retail work. And the caricature of the devil is bopping around, harmlessly glitter bombing folks. Weird. Thanks for listening!
In the 89th episode, hosts Ian Carlos Crawford and Adam Sass discuss the Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 6 episode "Life Serial" with special returning guests Kimberly Ann Southwick and Emily Nussbaum. Ginny’s finally excited to talk about both episodes this week! Is “Life Serial” a nuanced take on toxic masculinity? We think it’s accidental, but it works super well 18 years later! Also, Buffy’s friends should definitely be paying rent, right? On Angel, Fred makes a decision to stay in LA and be part of the team, and we meet her charming parents.
Chelsea and Bob discuss Buffy facing the challenges of finding a direction for her life, while being harassed by the Trio.
Here are some ho-hum episodes of Buffy. The jackass crew tries to gaslight buffy some more. Also Dawn gets her first kiss on Halloween.

David and Michaela get way too caught-up in the specifics of the time-distortion effects in "Life Serial". This episode features the introduction of Clem (though he's not really Clem-like yet), more numbers on shirts (what do they mean?!?!?) and some wacky hijinks courtesy of the resident nerds (no, not the hosts, the other nerds). In this episode (our Season 4 opener), we talk about movies inspired by real life serial killer Ed Gein!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!! It was originally recorded live on October 29, 2017. Here are the films: Psycho (1960) Motel Hell (1980) Texas Chainsaw 3D (2013)
In "Life Serial", the bills are due and Buffy needs a life plan. So she takes turns shadowing each of the Scoobies to see what fits. But when she audits Tara's class, evil lint sends her on a time jump to crazy-town. And while she excels at construction work, the damage caused by her fighting demons results in a swift termination. And at the Magic Shop, that dang mummy hand makes the tedium of retail even more repetitive. A woeful, drunken Slayer teams up with Spike to discover who's been messing with her all day. Kristen and Mike discuss this season's treatment of "nerd culture", and try to figure out what the evil lint actually does. Happy Halloween! In "All the Way", Xander finally announces his engagement to Anya. During the ensuing Engagement Party, Dawn leaves for some teenage mayhem with *gasp* boys! Their adventure quickly escalates from eggs throwing, to creepy old neighbors, and finally surreptitious smoochies. When the Scoobies learn that Dawn's gone AWOL, they rush to find her while she fights off the advances of a hormonal teenage vampire. We discuss the quickly discarded creepy neighbor, and how the script could have been altered to make it feel less formulaic. PLUS! Your kitten poker puns and "parking" stories.
Join us as we discuss Angel season 3, episode 5, “Fredless” and Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 6, episode 5, “Life Serial.” Superfans: Natalie and Maj Newbies: Ariana and Kristen Fun Facts: Natalie is having internet issues and she is so over it. More of a not-fun fact. Kristen had a night of nine-year-old fun with her niece last night and it was just what she needed. Ariana was a bridesmaid in her friend’s wedding and had a ton of fun. Maj has two fun facts: She got to pick her own bridesmaid’s dress last year from Asus and she just saw Wonder Woman. Angel season 3, episode 5, “Fredless”: -Synopsis -The gang theorizes about what happened between Buffy and Angel during their little rendezvous midway between Sunnydale and L.A. -Why do we think the show didn’t show or tell us what happened between Buffy and Angel? –Angel the show is tired of being Buffy‘s little brother. -Yet another conversation about Angel and his “moments of perfect bliss” (AKA his sex life). -We take a poll: Did we all think Fred’s parents were evil? -Fred the Texan physicist. -Lorne gets a whole storyline, so he seems to be more of a fully fleshed-out character. -Lorne advised Fred to keep running, that she “hadn’t run far enough.” Sad Lorne is sad. -Fred was pretty happily in denial about her Pylea life, but is forced to confront it by her non-evil parents. -Mom runs a bug over with a bus! -Fred leaves. Sadface. -But, wait! She comes back to save the day! -We are all weirded out that Gunn forgot that demon head wasn’t a prop. -Fred finds her place at Angel Investigations and she gets a fresh start after painting over her walls. -Is Fred still crushing on Angel? Or is this fresh start a completely new one? -A few trivia items for this episode! -Fred grew a lot in this episode, and it’s important to see just what she has to offer to the team. -Wesley is the liberal arts kind of smart, while Fred is more math and sciences. -Favorite Scenes -Favorite Lines Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 6, episode 5, “Life Serial”: -Synopsis -Everyone has expectations about what Buffy should do with her life now. -Team Tara is awkwardly trying to keep things together. -Buffy entered college without a good idea of what she wants, and that’s perfectly okay. (Natalie explains how different it is in Australia.) -This episode’s antagonists, The Trio: AKA JAW/WAJ/Prime Lords of Sunnydale? -Jonathan is spells, Warren is technology, and Andrew is… unclear. -What is with the Trio? What do they want? -First Spell: Time fast-forwarding device? What? Disorienting, just like Willow’s classes. -Second Spell: Jonathan summons demons for Buffy to fight at the construction site. -Third Spell: A time loop while she works at the Magic Box. -Fourth Spell: Red Demon thing? Drunk Buffy still beats him up. -We all agree that the first spell is the worst and freakiest, but the time loop was frustrating and stressful. -Buffy and Spike hangout time. -We all weigh in on our Spike/Buffy feels. -What do we think Buffy feels/thinks about hanging out with Spike? -Why does she choose to hang with him? -Buffy solidly hands Giles his parental unit card when she compares him to her mother. -Favorite Scenes -Favorite Lines Listener Feedback: -There is no Ariana hate. Only love. -Buffy should *totally* be getting paid. -We are already at two years of Buffy/Angel! What could possibly be next? -Would a chance Buffy was in hell outweigh the possibility of heaven? Do they want her around? -Will Cordelia forever be the "what Fred isn't" point for the show? -More Cordelia and Angel flirting scenes, please! -Caitlin does not care for body-switching episodes -Angel has a superbody -This episode is so pervy and weird and uncomfortable -What do homosexual clothes look like? -Angel and Wes - the ship that never sails -Lilah and Gavin are making their way back into the plot -Shouldn't the episode end with Angelus! I mean Buffy is alive! -Why did Willow call Angel? -Favorite Scenes -Favorite Lines Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 6, episode 4, "Flooded": -Synopsis -#notmyship -There is a literal flood! Unlike Buffy, Alli and Mary enjoy our whiskey for this week's episodes, Life Serial and All the Way. On the discussion docket this week is Los Angeles' ridiculous rental prices, college music department drama, the scoobies continued cluelessness and how we were NOT nostalgic for more teen antics, so why are they happening again?
