Hello everyone and welcome to The Greatest Thing About The Marvels... The most recent MCU entry, all the reworking of The Marvels might make even more sense to the MCU as it was probably re-jiggered along with the plans for Deadpool & Wolverine. We are all much bigger fans of The Marvels than its reputation that quickly set in at its release; that I think you can safely say was carried out by some bad faith actors. So consider this the beginning of the reclamation of The Marvels! Let's go! Download. Listen. Enjoy! General Thoughts And Context For The Marvels... (0:00:00) Diving Deeper Into What's Missing... Plus, then for our main topic we're ranking all the Marvel movies, shows and special presentations from 44 to 1. This week it's 20 through 11. Thanks so much for listening. We hope that you're enjoying the podcast. If you are, there are a few ways that you can support us. Welcome to another episode of Morgan Hasn't Seen with Jeannine Brice & Morgan Robinson!! Series two of the show begins as Jeannine forces Morgan to watch some Keanu Reeves movies. In honour of the release of John Wick Chapter 3 this month, they will be discussing all three John Wick and finishing the month talking Point Break. In this episode, Morgan gets his first taste of "gun-fu" as they talk the first John Wick film and also spend time going through their individual rankings of the Marvel Cinematic Universe; which naturally causes some raised eyebrows. More Game of Thrones S8 talk and the usual silliness is also not forgotten!! Remember to join "Our Wonderful People" by leaving a five star review and a loving tweet of support and we'll read it out on a show with a huge thank you!! One of the Mikes was without power since a tornado hit. The other was binge watching “Friends.” So this episode opens with a whole lot of pent up nonsense. Some rants are more metta than others, but nothing we say could compare to the maximum metta of the merc with the mouth (alliteration fans, permission to GO WILD!!). Having just completed our 10th episode on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we could not avoid nor resist this movie event. Both of us loved the first Deadpool, and we did have some high expectations. Our Oscar lense segment makes compelling arguments for and against the award chances for Celine Dion’s original song “Ashes,” as well as the visual effects, and maybe even the adapted screenplay. We then review the soundtrack, score, cinematography, and performances before dancing around the plot to give you a spoiler-free review of the script. There’s a non-dubstep musical interlude to indicate the spoiler section, and we break down all of the schtick filled plotlines. Some immediate carryovers open with some surprising production nuggets, the what could have beens of the post-credit century perhaps. Then we break down most of the plot in our long lists of worst and best scenes. It’s one of our more balanced reviews in awhile, filled with all the gushing and heckling you’ve come to know and love from these movie event reviews. In a fun twist, we decide to add the 2 Deadpool films to our recent ranking of the entire MCU, and we conclude the episode with some intriguing questions about the effects of this metta masterpiece (alliteration fans, feel free to golf clap). We hope you’re enjoying our Oscar Off-Season as we’ve reviewed the films of the MCU, as well as movie events like A Quiet Place, the streaming world of Netflix, basketball movies, and of course, our halfisode series on the music of Oscar. Do check out those five short episodes covering Best Original Song categories of the Academy’s past. For what we may lack in musical knowledge, we make up in awesomely bad singing voices. Stay tuned for more of what we’ve done most. We have another Oscar retrospective planned, the 1989 Best Original Screenplay category featuring Dead Poets Society, Do The Right Thing, When Harry Met Sally, Sex Lies and Videotape, and Crimes and Misdemeanors. We’ll also have another Hollywood Hot Take episode covering the latest in the early Oscar race from the Cannes film festival including a preview of Spike Lee’s Black Klansmen. Feel free to contact us on social media. We’re on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, and Gmail. We’ve taken some pivotal steps to design our upcoming website, mikemikeandoscar.com, and we have grand plans for youtube as well. If you enjoy our work, do please leave us a review on iTunes, like/follow/subscribe/retweet and share our podcasts when you can to help us spread the word about our show. When reality sucks, do watch movies with us. We’re Mike, Mike, and Oscar!
