Tonight, on this explosive episode of Light ‘Em Up.If you are hearing this episode, it is a miracle from God. Believe me!About a week ago with no advanced warning, we suffered the most serious catastrophic equipment failure that we've ever experienced — thanks to Windows 11. The Security settings on Windows 11 cancelled our access to our “drivers” which support our show. We scrambled; we researched the problem day and night, tried one of everything and troubleshot the issue until we were asleep on our feet.Long story short, we're back! Bill Gates can't keep a good show down!Tonight, we focus our investigative reporting skills with the intensity of a surgical laser on better understanding officer- induced jeopardy, which also can be referred to as officer- created jeopardy."Officer-induced jeopardy" refers to situations where a police officer's own unreasonable tactics, actions, or decisions prior to a force encounter unnecessarily create or escalate the danger, increasing the likelihood that force will be needed. The phrases of “officer-induced jeopardy” or “officer-created jeopardy” describe actions taken by police officers that increase the risk of injury to the officer and escalate the probability of use of lethal force by officers, which may have been avoided had the officer not placed himself or herself in a self-created dangerous situation.Be clear in the fact that this action stems from willful actions taken by the officer that put the officer and the person of interest or suspect in danger … such as:— rushing in without backup,— poor de-escalation skills and tactics,— or standing in front of a fleeing vehicle, which may have been avoided.Officers rarely are but can be criminally prosecuted for using force when their actions led to escalation during contact with subjects. However, the facts bear out that fewer than 3% of killings by police result in officers being charged with a crime.Recently, a fan of the show contacted us and informed us of an incident where their family — in their home -- became inadvertent ear and eyewitnesses being directly next door to where the Akron Police Department had terminated a vehicle pursuit — barricading and cornering a driver in his vehicle and ordering him to exit his vehicle while at gun point: More than 10 officers with their weapons drawn and pointed at the person who had previously committed what would amount to minor misdemeanors. The family that contacted us were concerned because they were in the direct line of crossfire if the officers decided to fire. This unnecessary contact with a 66-year-old black man (the suspect) could have easily turned into a “contagious fire” incident, with many of those shots coming from high-powered, military style assault rifles. In this explosive episode, in order to further our understanding about officer- induced jeopardy — as a case study we'll examine Barnes v. Felix, 605 U.S. ___ (2025), which is a recent Supreme Court decision which assesses whether an officer acted reasonably in using force under the Fourth Amendment, and that a court must consider all the relevant circumstances, including facts and events leading up to the climactic moment. And we'll touch upon a few brief case summaries and instances that support our topic …As well as:— How the use-of-force management training has changed over the course of the last decade.— How has the use of less-lethal tools and devices changed? And …— What we feel law enforcement agencies in the 21st Century should focus more on when it comes to officer- induced jeopardy and the use-of-force continuum. All this, pero mucho más aquí y solamente aquí — on Light ‘Em Up!The search for the truth and justice begins RIGHT HERE … and RIGHT NOW!Tune in for all the explosive details and our sponsors Newsly & Feedspot! We want to hear from you!Support the show

In this episode Jeff tears apart the latest assassination attempt against Donald Trump and the staggering security failures that allowed it to happen. From an armed suspect getting dangerously close to the president to the laughable claims that the system “worked” Jeff explains why this was a complete disgrace and why the response afterward was even worse. Jeff then breaks down the war with Iran and how what started with clear objectives quickly unraveled. Bad advice, unrealistic expectations and a fundamental misunderstanding of the enemy have led to a situation where Iran is now dictating terms. Trump's focus on markets and public perception over actual victory has turned a position of strength into an avoidable mess. The bigger problem is what this moment represents. Jeff argues this was likely the last real chance to cripple the world's leading terror regime and instead the United States blinked. The result is a stronger more emboldened enemy and a future that looks far more dangerous than it needed to be. Receive new episodes directly in your inbox: https://beyondthelegallimit.com/subscribe

It's time for our annual 420 special — and things are getting elevated. In this episode of Live, Laugh, Larceny: A True Petty Crime Podcast, Trevin and Amanda celebrate with chaotic stories, munchie-fueled dilemmas, and drug-related petty crimes. Trevin's taco night dilemma leads to a surprising discovery: mini taco shells might be the ultimate munchies snack. Amanda brings the cravings too, diving into the new McDonald's K-pop meal and lamenting a missed sauce opportunity. For a special one-time segment, the crew shares their dream blunt rotation — from Kid Cudi to a mix of comedy and music influences that are nearly impossible to narrow down. Amanda's story follows Afroman (Joseph Foreman) and the fallout from a police raid on his home, the music it inspired, and the legal battle that followed. Trevin takes us to the UK, where Ian Cloughton turned Home Alone into a criminal blueprint — using booby traps and DIY security to protect his drug operation. From raids to ridiculous decisions, this 420 episode proves crime and creativity don't always mix.

Joseph Duggar faces charges across two states with vastly different legal consequences. In Bay County, Florida, he is charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under twelve and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person over eighteen — charges classified as a life felony carrying a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years upon conviction. According to the arrest affidavit, a now-fourteen-year-old girl reported to investigators that Joseph allegedly harmed her during a family vacation when she was nine. The affidavit states he allegedly admitted to the conduct when confronted by the victim's father and again during a call monitored by a Tontitown detective. Joseph posted $600,000 bond, had filed a written not-guilty plea and jury trial demand from custody prior to the hearing, and returned to Arkansas the same day. His Florida arraignment is scheduled. In Arkansas, both Joseph and Kendra Duggar were each charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment — misdemeanor charges carrying a combined maximum of eight years. The charges reportedly stem from investigators discovering locks on the exterior of children's bedroom doors during a home search connected to the Florida case. Kendra reportedly retained the Duggar family's longtime attorney for her own representation. She has vacated the family home with the children. The institutional context is unavoidable. Josh Duggar is serving twelve and a half years in federal prison for receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material — conviction upheld by the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, certiorari denied by the Supreme Court. Bill Gothard, founder of the Institute in Basic Life Principles, has faced accusations from more than thirty women with zero criminal charges filed. A federal judge found Jim Bob Duggar's sworn testimony not credible in writing during Josh's proceedings. The Tontitown Police Department has described the Arkansas investigation as active and ongoing — language that signals the scope of what investigators are pursuing may not yet be fully reflected in current charges.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Two arrests. Two states. Two distinct charging frameworks. The Duggar family is now navigating simultaneous criminal exposure in Florida and Arkansas — and the legal specifics of each case matter in ways that most coverage failed to separate. This week on True Crime Today, Tony Brueski and criminal defense attorney Bob Motta break down the precise legal architecture of both cases.Joseph Duggar faces two Florida life felony charges — molestation of a victim under 12 and lewd and lascivious behavior by a person 18 or older. Each count carries either a life sentence or a minimum split sentence of 25 years followed by lifetime probation and community control. The charges originate from a forensic interview in which a now-14-year-old girl alleged repeated abuse during a 2020 family vacation in Panama City Beach when she was approximately 9 years old. Per the Bay County Sheriff's Office arrest affidavit, Joseph allegedly admitted his conduct to the victim's father, and then again to a Tontitown police detective who was placed on the same call. Joseph has waived extradition and is awaiting transfer to Florida where the alleged offenses occurred.Kendra Duggar was separately arrested in Arkansas on misdemeanor charges — four counts each of endangering the welfare of a minor and false imprisonment — tied to the four Duggar children currently in the home. These charges are legally distinct from the Florida case and originated in the mandatory home study that Joseph's arrest triggered under Arkansas law. The Tontitown investigation is confirmed to be ongoing. The two cases share a family but not a charging theory, not a jurisdiction, and not a legal standard. Bob Motta walks through how defense counsel manages simultaneous multi-state exposure, what the extradition waiver signals procedurally, and how the alleged pre-arrest admissions — made without counsel present — factor into the evidentiary picture going forward.Josh Duggar's statement through counsel characterizing the allegations as sensationalized fiction — issued while Joseph had allegedly already made documented admissions — is addressed in full. As is the fact that Josh Duggar has now retained new high-profile legal counsel to challenge his own conviction, a detail that speaks directly to the behavioral pattern Robin Dreeke identifies running through this entire family system. Two cases. One legal breakdown. All of it here.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Sue William Silverman TEATIME SEASON SEVENGuest Feature: Sue William Silverman EPISODE TITLEWriting the Unspoken: Memory, Truth & The Courage to Tell Your Story CORE TOPICThe healing power of memoir writing, reclaiming voice after trauma, and transforming lived experience into literature that awakens truth and connection. FULL EPISODE DESCRIPTION (YouTube / StreamYard Long Form)In this powerful episode of Teatime with Miss Liz, we welcome award-winning author and memoirist Sue William Silverman for a deeply honest conversation about writing the unspoken. Sue has built a literary career around exploring memory, trauma, healing, and the courage it takes to put truth into words. Through memoir and personal narrative, she helps others understand that telling one's story is not about reliving pain — it's about reclaiming power. Together, we explore:• The healing potential of memoir writing• How memory shapes identity• Moving from silence to voice• Writing through trauma responsibly• The difference between exposure and empowerment• How storytelling creates connection and collective awareness. This Teatime is for anyone who has ever wondered:“Is my story worth telling?”The answer may be more powerful than you think. OPENING INTRODUCTION (Miss Liz Style)“Welcome back to Teatime with Miss Liz — where we serve conversations that awaken awareness, one cup at a time. Today's guest carries the kind of courage that doesn't shout — it writes. There are stories we whisper.Stories we bury. And stories we are afraid to name. But what happens when we give those stories language? Joining us today is award-winning author and memoirist Sue William Silverman — a woman who has dedicated her life to writing the unspoken and teaching others how to do the same. Sue, welcome to Teatime.” TRANSCRIPT EXCERPT (For Description Box)Miss Liz: “When someone begins writing about painful memories, how do they know they're healing rather than reopening wounds?”Sue: “Healing happens when the writer gains perspective. When you can shape the story rather than be shaped by it, you begin reclaiming ownership. Writing allows us to transform memory into meaning.”Miss Liz: “So storytelling becomes empowerment?”Sue: “Yes. When we name our experience, we take back our voice. And voice is power.” CLOSING SUMMARY (With Takeaway)“As we close this Teatime, we're reminded that our stories do not exist to trap us — they exist to teach us. Sue has shown us that writing is not about perfection. It's about permission. Permission to speak.Permission to remember.Permission to reclaim. Navigating Domestic Violence and Assault Charges in El PasoIn this episode, attorney Carl DeKoatz joins the show to provide an in-depth look at how he handles domestic violence and assault cases in El Paso, Texas. Whether you are facing a misdemeanor or a serious felony, understanding your rights and the legal process is critical to protecting your future.Key Discussion PointsInteracting with Law Enforcement: If you are a potential defendant in an assault case, DeKoatz advises against communicating with the police at the scene. He emphasizes that officers are there to gather evidence rather than judge the situation. By explicitly stating you want to talk to a lawyer, you invoke your Fifth and Sixth Amendment rights, which legally requires police to stop questioning.Your Rights at Home: You are generally not required to answer the door for the police. However, DeKoatz notes that officers may enter without a warrant under "exigent circumstances," such as hearing yelling or suspecting an immediate safety threat. The Cooling-Off Period: Following an arrest, there is often a 30-day protective order attached to a bond. DeKoatz views this as a necessary cooling-off period and strongly advises against any direct or indirect communication with the other party to avoid picking up additional charges.Preserving Evidence: To build a strong defense, it is vital to preserve all digital evidence, including texts and emails from the other party. This information can be used to provide context to the prosecution and show that an alleged victim's story may be inconsistent.Levels of Assault Charges:Simple Assault: Generally handled in misdemeanor courts.Third-Degree Felony: Charges escalate significantly if "impeding breath" or choking is alleged.Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon: This involves putting someone in fear of death or serious injury with a weapon, such as a knife or gun, often seen in high-conflict domestic disputes or road rage incidents.Self-Defense in Texas: DeKoatz frequently handles cases where clients were simply defending themselves. In these instances, the court uses both a subjective and objective standard to determine if a reasonable person in the defendant's shoes would have felt the need to use force. The Path to Resolution: The firm's goal is always to protect the client's record and prevent a single mistake from defining their life. While some cases go to trial, many are resolved through deferred supervision or dismissals based on the history of the parties and the strength of the evidence.Local Court InformationDomestic violence and assault cases in El Paso are typically handled in the "big glass building" located on San Antonio Street. Misdemeanor courts are generally located on the 7th and 8th floors, while felony charges are heard in the District Courts.Contact InformationIf you are in need of legal assistance for an assault or domestic violence matter, you can reach the Carl DeKoatz at:FIRM: Carl DeKoatz Law FirmAddress: 718 Myrtle Ave, El Paso, TX 79901Phone: (915) 577-0913Website: HTTPS://DeKoatzLaw.com

Shawn P and Big Rupe return after a long break to discuss the legality of recent American Military actions taken by the 47th President, and implications they have on global stability in the future.
OA1226 - We begin with a review of the unprecedented lawsuit that Minnesota has filed against ICE with the extreme leftist radical demand that they obey the law and U.S. Constitution. How much power do states have to limit federal operations, and what are the chances a court order might put some guardrails on the largest enforcement operation in ICE history? We then consider the legal and political merits of articles of impeachment filed against Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem. Finally: we honor the passing of civil rights hero Claudette Colvin, whose bravery as a 15-year-old on a Montgomery, Alabama bus nine months before Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat put the final nail into the “separate but equal” justification for racial segregation established by the Supreme Court in Plessy v. Ferguson. State of Minnesota v. Noem, complaint filed 1/12/2026 “House Resolution 935: Impeaching Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense for the United States for high crimes and misdemeanors,” Rep. As we start a new year and new resolutions we decided to dive into this comprehensive read about what actually is in the food many of us eat every day. In this episode, Jeff points out the ridiculousness of the belief that President Trump has brought peace to the Middle East with the ceasefire agreement he got Israel and Hamas to sign. There is a mountain of evidence which makes clear that this ceasefire is simply a lull until the next war. In the meantime, the leftists/terrorists are making massive inroads into America and our failure to cut off the head of the terror snake will be our country's greatest failure in the not so distant future. In other news, Bruce Cutler has passed, at one point the most famous lawyer in the world. Bruce also was the lawyer who had a large part in getting Jeff to drop Pre-med in college and go to law school. In this podcast, Jeff recounts some very funny Bruce stories from years past. RIP Bruce.
Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip!This week Pip is joined by the bold and awesome director JUSTIN TIPPING!Maybe here and there you've heard rumblings not unlike the ones Pip cites up top on the intro, but in a time when creativity can even be treated and regarded as a rebellious and awesomely unique act, you can also take said rumblings with a pinch of salt and just engage in some powerful cinematic moments. This could be the suggested move with Him, Justin's new movie made with Jordan Peele's Monkeypaw Productions, which sounds like a very beautiful piece of thrilling sport-centred action.Expect to hear Justin touch on such menu items as being cautious of dropping the ball (pun intended) with Monkeypaw, the consideration of budgets, how different the reception is to his other projects and the undertones within some of those (many lines in which to read between...), the importance of visual style, lookbooks, intesive training for everyone's sake (including SFX), and working with comic actors. So much in not a huge amount of time. A wonderful chat - forget the noise out there, just jump in for heck's sake. You know the name Woody Allen. Everyone does. He's made some of the most acclaimed films ever made: Annie Hall, Hannah and Her Sisters, Crimes and Misdemeanors—he list goes on and on and on. He's made an astonishing 50 movies. You see his influence everywhere, from sitcoms to stand-up to just about every rom-com made since Annie Hall premiered in 1977. And in the process, he turned himself into America's most unlikely leading man: short, thinning hair, bespectacled, and exceptionally neurotic. Now, at age 89, Allen is out with his first novel, What's With Baum? Its protagonist is an anxious, smart Jewish writer with a messy personal life who gets himself in a great deal of trouble. Yes, it's like a Woody Allen movie in book form. It's also funny and delightful, and touches on a major theme of our age: the idea that an accusation, once made, is as good as a conviction. Allen knows something about that. In 1992, his longtime romantic partner Mia Farrow discovered that Allen had begun a relationship with her adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn. Allen was in his 50s at the time, Previn was just 21. All hell broke loose, with Farrow accusing Allen of grooming and preying on her daughter. The scandal became fodder for tabloids and late-night talk shows but soon took a much darker turn, with Farrow accusing Allen of molesting their 7-year-old daughter Dylan in August 1992. The charges were never proven in court—indeed they were twice dismissed—but the court of public opinion was another matter. Today on Honestly, we get into everything about Allen—from the accusations to his subsequent cancellation in the MeToo era to his childhood in Brooklyn and his climb from Flatbush to the commanding heights of American comedy, film, and culture. We delve into how he's changed and the many ways in which he hasn't. We talk about his marriage to Previn, which is still going strong after 28 years. His thoughts on President Donald Trump, NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, The New York Times, and American politics more broadly. We'll hear what he thinks about life, death, and aging as he approaches 90, and much, much more. In this podcast, Jeff discusses the assassination of Charlie Kirk by yet another deranged leftist shooter. As disturbing as the shooting was, the celebrations from the left — which included professionals, teacher and health care providers — were even more troubling. Jeff discusses what needs to come next if we are to avoid sliding into the abyss as a country.
A chilling look into Charlotte's justice system, where political deals and vote power allegedly allow violent offenders to walk free. Drawing from years of crime reporting, this segment reveals how Democrat prosecutors, city council influence, and restorative justice policies created a “felony freebie” system—letting first, second, and even third violent felonies slide. With homicide rates doubling since 2019, and offenders with dozens of priors still being released, the discussion exposes how partisan politics and voter blocs perpetuate a cycle of crime, corruption, and tragedy in North Carolina and beyond.
Fox News Host turned top prosecutor in DC, Jeanine Pirro, engaged in gross prosecutorial overreach by urging multiple grand juries to charge protestors with felonies when the facts plainly warranted only misdemeanor charges.Fortunately, the grand jurors, sitting as the conscious of the community, refused to indict the protestors of felony crimes. So Pirro directs her prosecutors to charge the protesters with less series misdemeanor offenses.Given how Donald Trump treated the "protestors" who attacked the US Capitol on January 6th, 2021, versus how Trump's DOJ is currently treating these two protestors, Glenn says they'll have one heck of a selective prosecution defense at their misdemeanor trials. For nightly live Law Talks, please join Glenn on Substack: glennkirschner.substack.comIf you're interested in supporting our all-volunteer efforts, you can become a Team Justice patron at: / glennkirschner If you'd like to support Glenn and buy Team Justice and Justice Matters merchandise visit:https://shop.spreadshirt.com/glennkir...Check out Glenn's website at https://glennkirschner.com/Follow Glenn on:Threads: https://www.threads.net/glennkirschner2Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/glennkirschner2Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/glennkirsch...Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/glennkirschn...TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/glennkirschner2See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Today's Headlines: Newly confirmed CDC director, Susan Monarez, was “officially removed” by HHS Secretary RFK Jr.—even though she insisted only the president can fire her, making The CDC mess even messier. Meanwhile, RFK Jr's ally Jim O'Neill has been tapped as acting director, prompting dozens of CDC staff in Atlanta to walk out in protest. Over at the Surface Transportation Board, Trump is trying to oust a Democratic member just as the board weighs a huge merger between Norfolk Southern and Union Pacific that could essentially create one mega-railroad controlling freight across the U.S. At the same time, Trump is also closing the “de minimis” loophole, meaning imported packages under $800 will now get slapped with tariffs ranging from 10–50%—and several countries, including Japan, Germany, and Mexico, say they'll stop sending packages here altogether. In Minneapolis, police gave more details about the horrific school shooting that killed two children and injured 18 others. Officials say the gunman plastered his weapons with over 100 hate slogans and had been openly posting about his plans for weeks, though law enforcement somehow missed it. And in DC, the infamous “sandwich thrower” who hurled lunch at a federal agent during Trump's new troop patrols has been charged only with a misdemeanor after prosecutors couldn't get a felony indictment. In this podcast, Jeff talks about his trip to Italy and love of Italians — and notes the many similarities between Italians and Jews and one glaring difference. Italy was great but the constant content making of young people in Capri annoyed him. Only this dopey, lazy mentality could drive the success of Zorhan Mamdani, a Socialist Hamas supporter, in the NYC mayoral race.

We lead this week's show with a few short news announcements, including new menu items from McDonalds to excite John, and the debut of a new podcast competitor: Hadley Arkes and his merry band at the James Wilson Institute have launched "The 'Natural Law Moment' Podcast," surely goaded by our constant mangling of his central arguments. WE hope to have a crossover episode with Hadley at some early opportunity, if we can ever get our difficult schedules sorted out. This round-robin format episode features a vigorous discussion of whether Obama and the Deep Staters (sounds like a bad bar-band, no?) are vulnerable to criminal charges for their obviously bad faith behavior in creating the Russia Hoax back in 2016, whether Obama is immune from prosecution because of the ruling last year of Trump v. US, and whether these actions properly rise to the level of "treason" as is alleged by DNI Tulsi Gabbard. Our second segment reflects on a pair of articles Steve and John wrote for a Civitas Outlook symposium last week on "Statemanship and the American Presidency." John Yoo's entry slobbers over the legacy of Andrew Jackson, whileSteve's entry, "Taming the 21st Century Prince," is a more philosophical exploration of the issue, and, contrary to the careless calumnies and reckless imprecations of John, does not contain a single reference to the Clean Air Act!And our final segment delves into a recent bold law review article by a young lawyer friend of ours, Deion Kathawa, entitled "'We the People' Are the Last Word on the Meaning of Our Constitution." His argument is bracing: Congress, because it is the political organ closest to the people, should have the power to override Supreme Court decisions. While agreeing with Kathawa's premise about the ultimate constitutional sovereignty of the people on account of the first principles of the Declaration of Independence, we're skeptical about his proposed remedy. What do listeners think? (We hope to have Deion on as a guest at some point soon to defend himself.)Finally, some new AI generated 3WHH custom poetry, and more revenge bumper music.
