While student loans are easy to get, they aren't easy to understand or easy to pay off. It doesn't help that interest rates keep the balance growing despite consistent payments. It is predatory and unfair. Natalie Jean-Baptiste (@slaystudentloandebt), a wellness advocate and student loan relief attorney, who got her start by getting her own $120,000 in student loans discharged in bankruptcy. Today, she helps other borrowers manage and eliminate their student loans. We talk about bankruptcy, the new loan repayment programs, loan forgiveness, and one-time account adjustments, and so much more. About My Guest:Natalie Jean-Baptiste is a financial wellness advocate who works with student loan borrowers to manage and eliminate debt. Prior to launching her consumer bankruptcy practice, Natalie worked for many years in the music industry where she handled various contracts for superstar acts like Alicia Keys & Janet Jackson. Her personal struggle with student loan debt led her to become a bankruptcy attorney. After nearly a decade in private practice, Natalie joined The Legal Aid Society as a Staff Attorney where she represents low-income New Yorkers burdened with debt. Natalie is committed to economic empowerment and advocacy for student loan borrowers. She has had a lot of success with discharging student debt in bankruptcy, which is notoriously difficult to do. Natalie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Fordham University, where she majored in Communication and Media Studies and minored in Business Administration, and her J.D. from New York Law School. When she's not advocating for student loan borrowers, Natalie enjoys event planning, the beach, matcha lattes, 90s R&B, traveling and spending time with friends and family. The very first interview with a guest on The Audacity Academy is with one of my best friends in the whole world, a Soul Sister, Natalie Jean. She is such a badass, y'all! She's an anthropology student, artist, writer, single mother and she also does divination and spiritual guidance for others. We talk all about how people-pleasing and boundaries have impacted her life as an Empath and spiritual guide, as a parent to her son who is on the spectrum, in her romantic relationships, as a student, and in life in general. This conversation was so fun! I hope you enjoy it and get as much out of it as I did. Hi listeners and welcome to another edition of Weekdays with Murph. Today on the show, we welcome super talented, Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Natalie Jean to the show. We’ll talk with Natalie about her career, music, and anything she’s working on that she can talk about, as well as her win for Entertainer of the Year at the 2018 KICMA Awards. This should be fun
Natalie wanted to be an attorney just like Claire Huxtable when she grew up. After getting her Bachelor’s in Communications, she enrolled in law school believing that taking out loans to pay for school is “good debt.” Later she learned, there’s no such thing! Natalie ended up filing a Chapter 7 Petition under the bankruptcy code and learned a wealth of information related about student loans on her journey. I learned a wealth of information from Natalie! Listen to the episode to find out more about how you might want to tackle your student loans in bankruptcy court. Or if you're interested in the types of bankruptcy options available and how they might work to help you get back on track! If you enjoy the Lifelong Learning Podcast you can do 2 things to help the podcast grow & reach more people: #1 - Tell someone else about the show! Word of mouth is the best way to share podcasts you enjoy! #2 - Leave a rating and review wherever you listen to the show.
Natalie Jean Baptiste is an attorney who found herself in the uncomfortable position of having to declare bankruptcy due to over $200,000 of consumer and student loan debt. Natalie shares her reasons for declaring bankruptcy, why it makes sense for some people and how the whole experience prepared her for this next chapter in her life where she’s helping others conquer their student loan debt burdens. My biggest takeaway is to never let others tell you something is impossible. As Audrey Hepburn said, “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I’m possible.” I truly believe with enough faith and courage, anything is possible. If you want to find the show notes as well as links to Natalie, you can find them on my blog http://financially-blonde.com If you have any topics you would like for me to cover on this podcast, I encourage you to email me to Shannon@finblonde.com or tweet to me @blonde_finance or join the private Martinis and Your Money Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/martinisandyourmoney

Today’s guest is a break from my usual – my guest today is Doctor Linda Stirrup who is a dentist as well as an author of a children’s book series featuring a young girl named Natalie Jean. Up on My Tippy Toes, beautifully illustrated by Reginald William Butler, is the story of a young girl whose resolve to take up ballet begins to crumble when she finds her first class challenging. Will she gain the resolve to return?

In just the last two months alone she has gotten an array of nominations. She performs extensively in the mid-Atlantic states and has even authored a book in addition to being a songwriter.
Natalie Jean sits down with Ben to discuss her work as a stunt person in the film industry.
