Grown and Growing is a relatable, safe space for women who are growing in their 40s and beyond. We discuss relationships, kids, health, career, sex, travel - and everything in between. It’s not an advice podcast…it’s a fun, casual conversation about life
The Grown and Growing Podcast is an absolute gem for anyone, particularly women, who are navigating life in their 30s and beyond. Hosted by Sonia, this podcast exudes authenticity and relatability, making it a must-listen. From the moment I started tuning in, I was captivated by Sonia's ability to share her own experiences and challenges in such a graceful and inspiring manner. It's evident that she has overcome so much in her life, and her wisdom shines through every episode.
One of the best aspects of The Grown and Growing Podcast is how incredibly relatable it is. Whether you're a woman or a man, you'll find yourself nodding along to the conversations and insights shared on this show. Sonia and her guests tackle a wide range of topics that are relevant to anyone in their 30s or beyond. From personal growth and self-care to relationships, career advancement, and everything in between, there's something for everyone in each episode.
Another standout aspect of this podcast is the diversity of voices that are featured. Sonia brings on guests from all walks of life, ensuring that different perspectives are represented. This not only adds depth to the episodes but also allows listeners to gain insight from various lived experiences. It's refreshing to hear from individuals with different backgrounds and expertise sharing their wisdom on navigating adulthood.
While it may be challenging to find any drawbacks to The Grown and Growing Podcast, one small critique would be that some episodes could benefit from more in-depth discussions on certain topics. Although the episodes cover a wide range of subjects, occasionally there might be room for deeper exploration. However, this minor critique does not detract from the overall quality and value of the podcast.
In conclusion, The Grown and Growing Podcast is a true treasure for anyone seeking guidance, inspiration, or simply a relatable voice during their journey into adulthood. Sonia's authenticity shines through every episode as she shares her own experiences and invites guests to do the same. The diverse range of topics and voices make this podcast a must-listen for women and men alike. I can't wait to hear more from Sonia and continue growing alongside her on this incredible podcast.
It's the last episode of this season, and we're discussing a tough question as we enter the summer months. With everything going on in the world, is a “soft life” realistic? Is it responsible? We wrestle with what it means to pursue peace and rest in a world that feels anything but soft. We explore how Black women, in particular, can give themselves permission to step back without ignoring the reality around them. Is it possible to protect your peace and still stay engaged in the world? We don't have all the answers—but it offers a thoughtful, honest look at the balancing act.Like. Follow. Share. If skincare hasn't been a priority for you, maybe it's time to reprioritize. Having a consistent, healthy skincare routine in your 40s can set you up for great skin in the decades to come. My guest this week is Carolyn Cyprian, a licensed esthetician and medspa owner. We live in a chaotic world. That's why I feel it's the perfect time to have my next guest, Celine Kheir @celine_kheir_, on the pod to talk about how we can relieve ourselves of overthinking, procrastination and anxiety. Celine takes us through her journey and shares techniques on how she achieved a calm mind, which is detailed fully in her book “How to Calm Your Mind: The Ultimate Guide to Overcome Overthinking, Procrastination and Anxiety.” About My Guest:Celine Kheir is the founder of Celine Kheir Life Coaching, the author of How to Calm Your Mind and Declutter Your Home, Declutter Your Life, and an advocate of female empowerment through self-care. In the past, Celine was trapped in a cycle of overthinking, procrastination, and anxiety. As an overthinker, she was obsessed with planning every detail of her life. Procrastination prevented her from carrying out her plans and when plans failed, anxiety and depression took over. The sheer weight of her anxiety caused her heart to pound and made it hard to breathe. Celine explored various tools and techniques to start calming her mind and took back control of her life. By taking what she has learned from her personal life and combining it with her professional training and qualifications, Celine wants other women to gain the same empowerment as they discover the root causes of their chaotic minds, reveal their inner strengths, find inner peace, and lead a fulfilling life.Connect with Celine Kheir:https://www.celinekheir.com/pages/homeInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/celine_kheir_/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100091482481916Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/281194654001257Buy book: How to Calm Your Mind: The Ultimate Guide to Overcome Overthinking, Procrastination and AnxietyGrown and Growing Podcast -- Like. Confidence. It's a trait that I've pondered over so many times in my life. I've read books on it. Took trainings on it. Talked about it in therapy. Prayed about it.In this episode, I'm breaking down what I believe are the three layers of confidence, and how we can tap into each layer individually or collectively to get through any stage of life. My previous weight loss attempts were based in vanity. I wanted to fit into a specific size and look good in my clothes. I was chasing the 20-something version of myself. This year, though, I FELT like crap. My blood pressure was borderline high. And I was tired of trying different diets. Then I met Coach Netra Shettleworth, owner of Butterfly Transformation Nutrition Coaching, and decided to try something different. This week, Coach Netra and I talk about my experience doing her 15-week nutrition and wellness plan. Can I call this episode new-ish? This week, I'm revisiting episode 1: Fear After 40. Though I recorded this episode a year and a half ago, I needed to hear it again. It reminded me I have a blueprint to move past fear, and sometimes - even at this big age of 45 - I need to be reminded. Hopefully, it will bless you like it blessed me. We're all familiar with the saying the only constant is change. This is true, but knowing this doesn't help deal with the changes that life throws our way. Now that I'm older, I'm trying to deal with life changes in a completely different way. It doesn't mean the process is less difficult or stressful -- I just have better coping mechanisms. Today, I'm sharing.Grown and Growing Podcast -- Like. Follow. Share. Did you know that 1 out of 2 adults admit that they're lonely on a regular basis -- and this was before the pandemic. Why is this? There's so much time spent dissecting and critiquing romantic relationships, but do we place enough value on platonic relationships? I'm talking about it on this episode.Grown and Growing Podcast -- Like. Follow. Share.
