If you've ever felt like there's a bigger reason you came to exist on this planet... and just can't figure out what exactly that is, then you're going to love today's episode! Perhaps your purpose is hidden in plain sight - in your everyday life, in your knowledge and experiences... Or maybe it's in your heart and you already know deep down what it is but haven't taken action on it yet. On the ethical side of the Influence Continuum, we invite an expert to discuss preparing how to do ethical parenting. Julie Hartman is a Certified Birth Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor, and New Parent Educator. She supports families in the perinatal period through support groups and teaching classes on living with a newborn. Most importantly, she is the mom of three adult children and can connect with the people she works with through shared experiences. We discuss what a doula and lactation counselor is, as many people are unaware. Julie tells us a birth doula is often confused with a midwife, but they are different. Whereas the role of a midwife requires formal medical training, birth doulas support the family before, during, and after birth. They assist the family in empowering and speaking up for themselves so that they can advocate for their needs in the birthing process. Birth Doulas also help educate families on the decisions that could need to be made during a hospital birth so there are no surprises and families can think those options through before they are in the heat of the moment. Julie shares her expertise in ethical, positive parenting techniques. Learn more about Steven Hassan and Freedom of Mind Resource Center. Visit freedomofmind.com Learn more about your ad choices. Elizabeth King is a Certified Fertility Health Coach, Master Certified ICF Life Coach, Birth & Bereavement Doula and New Parent Educator. Her mission is to help people from all backgrounds conceive a healthy baby and carry to term. Infertility is actually very common but it just isn't talked about.  Infertility in the US is 1 in 8 and in Canada is 1 in 6 and miscarriage are 1 in 4.There is the whole other language and terminology attached to fertility or infertility issues and how do you even know how to translate it.It is important to know that not all OB's study infertility.  It isn't part of the curriculum.  So it's important to find someone who has specific training and education and experience. If you are experiencing fertility issues and are talking with a therapist or coach, you are 55% more likely to succeed.  You can eat all the right things, and do all the right things, but if your mind isn't in the right state, it is signaling to your body that it isn't the right place to be.Find tools that ground you, it is different for everyone.  It could be anything, but here are a few...- Meditation- Affirmations- Adult coloring books- CookingCreate a "Fertility Team" to help you through this process.  It may include:- Doctor specializing in infertility - Acupuncturist- Supportive foods- Exercise/yoga3 Things You Should Know from This Conversation...- You are not alone- Talk about it and be open about it to a trusted spouse, friend or coach.  Someone that gets what you are going through- It will be ok.  If you have the knowing, we can get you there.  There are lots of options, it just may be a different path than you originally saw it.Podcast link. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-soulful-mind/IG: angelevangerfb: angelraleyevangerFind out your intuition SUPERPOWER!  Use this link:www.angelevanger.com/quizwww.angelevanger.com/meditationsElizabeth KingSet up a Free 10 Minute Callwww.elizabethking.comig: elizabethking_coaching fb: elizabethking_coachingPodcast - Pretty Little Tribe

It's hard to have babies. No matter what stage of life you start trying to have a family, it rarely goes to plan. And dealing with infertility doesn't just mean figuring out how to start a family or have a baby, it's often an emotional journey that can impact things far beyond that. This week we are digging into the topic of infertility with two guests who also experienced it themselves and now dedicate their work to helping others start families. My first guest is Ali Prato, the host of the podcast Infertile AF. Brooklyn-based journalist and mom-of-two. Ali, who went through secondary infertility and IVF herself, talks to women—and some men—about the messy, frustrating, painful, heartbreaking, absurd and sometimes hilarious journey to have a baby. Or in some cases, to not have a baby. Ali covers all of the outcomes in this safe, non-judgement zone: the happy endings, the soul-crushingly sad ones, and the ones still in limbo. She's also the founder of Fertility Rally. Elizabeth King is a Certified Fertility Health Coach, Master Certified ICF Life Coach, Birth & Bereavement Doula and New Parent Educator. Elizabeth tells Ali about her journey to becoming a mother over 40 to her three littles. Along the way: Freezing her eggs when she was single in her 30s, meeting her husband at 39 and feeling ashamed, guilty and broken when she wasn't getting pregnant on her own. She also discusses her fibroid surgery, her two miscarriages, the two babies she got pregnant with naturally, and the third baby she had after doing an IUI. Today, Elizabeth is a fertility coach, so she shares the tools she's learned for anyone going through infertility or using ART to build their families. EPISODE SPONSORS:FERTILITY RALLYNo one should go through infertility alone.
