We'll open with talking about fear and how that shows up in our dating and flirting lives - and what we can do about it.  We get into how to flirt with more freedom, how to have more fun, and answer questions like: Do I have to be funny to flirt? What if I hate flirting? What if this whole thing just makes me nervous? And most importantly, how do we step outside our comfort zones and create connections that actually feel good? The best adventures are often found when we embrace curiosity. That's a lesson that Tamron Hall has learned in her storied career as a cultural icon, Emmy-winning talk show host, and broadcast journalist, as well as in her role as a young parent to a son with a shy but investigative nature to explore the world around him. In today's conversation, Tamron talks to Jen and Amy about that curiosity and why it is a trait that should be celebrated and nurtured, both in our children and in ourselves. They talk about the many cultural treasures that already exist right in our own neighborhoods, if we open ourselves up to the beauty of exploring new places and faces. And, Tamron also shares details with Amy and Jen about her latest labor of love, the children's book that she just released called Harlem Honey: The Adventures of a Curious Kid, an endearing story inspired by her real-life son and his adventure visiting Harlem's most iconic spots, learning a valuable lesson about the meaning of home. *** Thought-provoking Quotes: Things that are authentic tend to come easy but that doesn't mean that the process isn't challenging. – Tarmron Hall As adults, through our urgency, we can rush our children through great opportunities of curiosity. – Tamron Hall I was very worried when my son presented as shy. Shy kids, especially boys, can be steeped into tropes and stereotypes of what a shy kid is. It forced me to talk more openly about my own social anxieties. – Tamron Hall The best of my journey as a reporter was opening my eyes to the cultural difference and nuances of neighborhoods. – Tamron Hall Storytelling is something that we all have the ability to do. When you tell it from your heart and from an authentic space, it can resonate. It transcends gender, economics. It transcends everything. – Tamron Hall Resources Mentioned in This Episode: Prince - https://www.prince.com/ The Tamron Hall Show - https://tamronhallshow.com/ Jen Hatmaker Gets Real About Healing After Divorce on The Tamron Hall Show - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fkm0RqfRYMI As the Wicked Watch: The First Jordan Manning Novel by Tamron Hall - https://amzn.to/4hnc8qn Harlem Honey: The Adventures of a Curious Kid by Tarmron Hall - https://amzn.to/4hJEuea Deadline: Crime With Tamron Hall - https://www.investigationdiscovery.com/show/deadline-crime-with-tamron-hall-investigation-discovery The TODAY Show - https://www.today.com/ Sisterwives Tell All - https://www.tlc.com/shows/sister-wives/episodes/sister-wives-tell-all Ebony Glenn, Illustrator - https://www.ebonyglenn.com/ 100 Mighty Dragons All Named Broccoli by David LaRochelle - https://amzn.to/4jOvGFz Are You There God? With a focus on the charismatic figure of Deion Sanders, also known as Coach Prime, Clint explores whether Sanders' bold demeanor stems from confidence or arrogance. Through a recent clip from the Tamron Hall Show, listeners will hear Sanders discuss his expectations for success and the importance of unwavering self-belief. Clint notes how Sander's confidence can sometimes be perceived as arrogance. Sanders adds that this often happens particularly when it challenges the insecurities of others. However, Clint argues that what shines through in Sanders' words is a profound sense of "Godfidence," a confidence rooted in faith and a strong connection to God. Transitioning from the sports world to biblical wisdom, Clint introduces the story of King Jehoshaphat from 2 Chronicles 20, who faced a vast army threatening his people. Jehoshaphat's response to fear—turning to God in prayer—serves as a powerful reminder of where true confidence lies. Clint emphasizes that while we may experience fear and anxiety, it's essential to seek God's guidance and trust in His plans. As the episode unfolds, Clint encourages listeners to embrace their own Godfidence, reminding us that God calls us to show up for the battles in our lives, even when the odds seem stacked against us. Tune in to discover how to cultivate a mindset of confidence rooted in faith, allowing you to navigate life's challenges with grace and strength. -----

Just a few years later, his products have appeared on The TODAY Show, Good Morning America, ABC Secret Sales, and the Tamron Hall Show. They've also been endorsed by Sharks from ABC's Shark Tank. His product, the CordBrick, was voted "Coolest Product" by attendees of the National Retail Federation BIG SHOW in NYC in 2023.  Creating a Unique Product Nick built his first prototype of the CordBrick out of modeling clay from Michael's. He knew the design needed to be simple, clean, and mass-market-friendly.  Nick recommends all product-based entrepreneurs find a unique angle or design to help differentiate from the competition–and that once you find that unique aspect, protect it. The CordBrick has multiple patents, including utility and intellectual property.  Share Your Idea as Much as Possible Nick's biggest advice to other entrepreneurs is to share your idea with as many people as possible. Some founders are worried about people stealing their ideas, but the benefits outweigh the risks. An outside perspective can help you see your product in a new light and come up with better solutions.  Another benefit is that the more information you give people, the more likely they are to introduce you to their network and connect you with the right people.  Likewise, Nick recommends consulting with other entrepreneurs who have done the thing you're trying to accomplish. Look into what made those people successful. Read their biographies, and if you're able, reach out and connect with them. But when you ask for advice, focus on the big picture. The industry and technology may have changed, but the principles remain the same. Enjoy this episode with Nick Barrett… Soundbytes 10:17-10:38 “How much would people really pay to solve this problem? Like $5? So one of the first things I did was I took these and I took them to a little shopping center near me, and people told me they would pay not just five, but $10. Some people even told me $20. Several people told me 20 and I was like, Wow, that's crazy. I can't believe people would pay that much to solve this. I might be able to have a business out of this.”  11:58-12:24 “Don't be afraid to share your idea with a lot of people. I think people keep things too close to their chest for too long, and they either don't do anything, or they get stuck on a couple of thoughts. They either haven't diagnosed the problem correctly, or there's a solution they haven't considered, and just by talking to people, I would say I've gained so much more benefit from talking to people.” Quotes “Don't be afraid to share your idea with a lot of people.” “The more you share, the more information people can give you about how to help you better or introduce you to the right person.” “It's more work than you think, but that doesn't mean not to do it.” Links mentioned in this episode: From Our Guest CordBrick: https://cordbrick.com/  Connect with Nick on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-barrett-0781491a/  Connect with brandiD Download our free guide to learn 16 crucial website updates that attract more leads and convert visitors into clients: https://thebrandid.com/website-tweaks/ Ready to elevate your digital presence with a powerful brand or website? Angelena Taylor's caregiving journey began quite unexpectedly at the age of 28 when her father, Benjamin, experienced a stroke. This event marked the start of her role as a caregiver, which she took on with dedication and focus. As a daughter and military caregiver, Angelena balanced her responsibilities with her Miss USA World Universal Ambassador title, using each role to support the other.Early on, Angelena faced skepticism from medical professionals who doubted her capability. However, she quickly proved them wrong by advocating strongly for her father's care, ensuring he received the treatment she believed was best. Her father's recovery became a central part of her life, and Angelena managed the ups and downs with determination. She navigated through the medical system, learning and adapting along the way to ensure that her father received the best possible care.Angelena didn't set aside her dreams and goals even with her caregiving duties. She pursued her aspirations in pageantry, seeing it as an opportunity to raise awareness about the challenges and needs of military caregivers. Her role as Miss USA World Universal Ambassador allowed her to speak out on these issues, bringing them to a broader audience and creating a platform for others in similar positions to feel seen and heard.Angelena's commitment to her father and advocacy work reminds her of the strength and dedication required in caregiving roles. Her journey is not just about overcoming obstacles but also about finding balance and purpose. Her story encourages others who are navigating similar paths, showing that it's possible to manage caregiving duties while pursuing personal goals with determination and support.About Angelena:Angelena Taylor is a proud daughter, military caregiver, cat mom, world traveler, and reigning Ms. USA World Universal Ambassador. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Angelena works part-time as a behavior analyst. Still, her most prominent and favorite role to date has been as a caregiver for over 8 years to her father, Benjamin, who is a stroke survivor and veteran. Becoming a caregiver at the age of 28 without much assistance or support birthed Angelena's passion for advocating for her fellow caregivers and restructuring the care infrastructure. She has been heavily involved as a fellow with organizations such as Caring Across Generations and The Elizabeth Dole Foundation, where she has connected with hundreds of other caregivers, collaborated with elected officials, and more. Featured in The New York Times and on The Tamron Hall Show, Angelena's story is one of 53 million caregivers (and an estimated 5.5 million military caregivers) in the USA with the special redemption song of winning the prestigious title of Ms. USA Ambassador 2023. Angelena created Crown the Caregiver as a platform of awareness and advocacy in the caregiving community and plans to launch services as a Certified Caregiving Specialist in the near futureSupport the showConfessions of a Reluctant Caregiver Sisterhood of Care, LLC Website: www.confessionsofareluctantcaregiver.com Like us on Facebook! We talk about rage in motherhood, exploring the social elements that play a role in this and the power of treating your anger with compassion.  We also discussed: ·      The intensity that can come with difficult seasons of motherhood and the importance in having faith and self-belief that you can and will make it through these challenging times. We also discuss the power of drawing on previous experiences of when you have overcome challenging times to help foster this belief. ·      The need for time, space and separateness in mothering and how this is often perceived negatively in our society due to patriarchal internalised modelling that has led to the belief that a ‘good' mother wants to be around her children and husband all the time and who doesn't have needs of her own.·      Minna's identity as being a bisexual Queer woman married to a cis-man, how becoming a mother intensified this experience and how she used writing to help process her second ‘coming out' experience once she was a mother, and the part this played in her returning to herself.  -       The internalised belief of the “good mother - good child” association that is held in many facets of our society, and how this can manifest in relation to neurodiversity and behavioural differences in children. And much more.  Here is where you can find out more about me (Yara), how to work with me and some resources:Why Am I So Angry Workshop*** Waitlist for The Rebirth, Group Coaching for Mamas *** This is my signature 3 months online group coaching container for mothers which covers family of origin, inner child work, nervous system basics, anger, boundaries and much more. @lifeafterbirthpsychology  www.lifeafterbirth.com.auFree Inner Critic WorkbookFree Values Aligned Living Workbook  Find out more about Minna in these places:www.minnadubin.comMinna on Instagram Minna on TwitterYou can purchase Minna's book “Mom Rage: The Everyday Crisis Of Modern Motherhood” here – it's an incredible, comprehensive and detailed exploration on the rage felt my mothers, and I hugely recommend giving it a read! Looking for support for anger while you mother? Can You Actually Have It All In A Stepfamily? Today I'm sharing an interview I did for this year's Stepmom Summit because it's the kind of story that we don't get to hear enough of as stepmoms: a stepmom and mom who not only get along, but are real-life friends, work together, and have made co-parenting virtually seamless for their kids. I'm talking with Emmy Award-winning journalist Catt Sadler and Digital Dept. CEO Sarah Boyd. These women are each superstars professionally, and both vowed to put the kids in the stepfamily first. It's a wonderful story of how the dynamics can come together in a loving and positive way.  About Catt: Catt Sadler is a three time-Emmy winning journalist, renowned for her work on E! Entertainment, where she spent more than a decade contributing to E! News, E! News Weekend, Daily Pop, Live From E! and hosting various network specials. She's also been a fixture on the red carpet covering high-caliber events and interviewing celebrities during awards season. She has been co-host of the Vanity Fair Oscars Party show for the last several years. Today, she is the host and EP of her weekly podcast: CATT SADLER Now. Catt has appeared on The View, The Talk, The Tamron Hall Show, and many other programs. After choosing to leave E! over a wage gap issue and receiving an outpouring of support, Catt became a prominent voice for the equal pay movement. She has spent much of her time contributing to the cause by taking part in the LA Women's March, speaking at the Equal Pay Day rally at City Hall in New York, and starring in LUNA Bar's Equal Pay Day campaign. Catt was also selected for the NYDJ Denim campaign highlighting women leading change. She starred in the SECRET deodorant “I'd Rather Get Paid” initiative and MM.Le.Fleur's “What Are You Made Of?” fashion campaign. In 2021 she was featured with a diverse group of women in Summersalt's swimwear campaign celebrating an eclectic group of confident and successful women who love their bodies – in all forms, at any age. Championing women has always been her passion. About Sarah: Sarah Boyd is the co-CEO of The Digital Dept., which represents the most sought-after celebrity influencers. Her current/past clients roster includes Alessandra Ambrosio, Jamie Chung, Olivia Culpo, Julianne Hough, Lauren Bushnell Lane, Jana Kramer, and many more who look to Sarah to help them capitalize on their influential status in the entertainment industry to make their mark in the influencer world. Sarah started her career in Fashion PR and in 2012, she decided to channel her expert industry know-how, her extensive list of contacts, and relationships into starting her own business, SIMPLY, a collective with one goal in mind: connecting. The SIMPLY ‘Do What You Love' event is an annual Fashion and Beauty Conference in cities such as LA, NY, Chicago, and Dubai. Since 2012, SIMPLY has hosted tens of thousands of attendees. Sarah has secured partnerships with prestigious brands like CITI, Topshop, Barney's NY and many more. She's been featured in Marie Claire, People Style Watch, Fox News, E!, LA Business Journal, to name a few. She was named a “Female Founder to Watch” by Forbes and is now a Forbes Fashion and Beauty contributor. In 2017, Sarah completed a successful acquisition for SIMPLY with Socialyte (under the NYLON LLC parent company) and Sarah held the position of President of Socialyte. In 2018, Sarah co-founded the Moms + Babes Box with partner Jana Kramer which is a quarterly subscription box filled with 6+ full sized products for moms and their babes. In 2020, Sarah and Jana sold the business. In 2022, Socialyte was acquired by Dolphin Entertainment, and in 2023, Socialyte and Be Social merged to become The Digital Dept. where Sarah was installed as co-CEO. A teen inventor helping the visually impaired now focuses on artificial intelligence and saving the world from oil spills. Tiffani Gay is heading into her senior year of high school. She also hopes to catch the attention of her dream university, Harvard. The world has changed a lot since Gay last appeared on Florida's Fourth Estate. After going viral on our YouTube channel, Gay got a call from the Tamron Hall Show. “Without you, I don't think I would have gotten that opportunity,” Gay said. She has become known around the world for her invention that can help visually impaired people navigate using radar instead of guide dogs or a cane. “I'm getting replies from inventors in Switzerland and inventors here locally asking to collaborate on a host of different projects,” Gay said. “The next project I'm working on is an electromagnetic system that is capable of separating oil from water.” She recently won first place from NOAA for her research in this field. She is hoping to one day use the technology to help animals impacted by oil spills in the ocean. Another new passion involves social issues. Gay has noticed one common theme in her science classes. “It's kind of overbearingly full of men right now,” she said. Gay was one of two girls in her high-level science classes. “I felt like making a mistake would make me and all of the other women in the room look less intelligent,” she said. So, she and her partner in class co-founded Girls Who Code. Every Wednesday, they mentor 2nd to 4th grade girls. The little ladies started out shy. “As the months passed, I watched them become more interactive with the classroom,” Gay said. Gay and her friend brought in robots and made the classroom a living breathing experience. This busy high schooler said keeping this intense schedule isn't easy, but a tight-knit friend group keeps her grounded. “We are the closest friend group ever,” Gay said., She went to prom with a group of girls who had been together since middle school. She looks to them for balance. “Just having that great group of friends who are all really ambitious has been very important to me,” Gay said. As for the future, Gay will have a lot of options for college. One institution stands above the rest. “For me right now my dream college is Harvard University,” she said. She is researching there this summer. Gay appreciates the university's options for research during undergraduate years. She's also very interested in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Wherever she goes, we will keep you updated as she takes over the world. You can hear more from Gay on Florida's Fourth Estate. We are influenced by a lot in our early years that affect our sexual lives. Those who work on college campuses and teach human sexuality have noted that there is a rise in rough sex among the students. Some of what this rough sex involves is choking. Dr. Debby Herbenick has recognized how this can be problematic for many reasons, but one is that any constriction of breath can cause damage to our bodies and our brain. Her book, Yes, Your Kid helps parents navigate the necessary conversations that are needed in the home around sex and the exposure to porn. Often as parents we tend to think, “Not my kid.” However, the reality today is that with social media and 24 hour access to porn, this could very well be something your child has experienced or maybe thought about.  Dr. Herbenick is a Provost Professor at the Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington, Director of the Center for Sexual Health Promotion, and an AASECT-certified sexuality educator. Her newest book is “Yes Your Kid: What Parents Need to Know About Today's Teens and Sex” which has been highlighted in the New York Times and on CNN.com. Her research focuses on women's sexual health, US population-representative research, as well as trends in sexual attitudes and behaviors. She has published more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific articles related to sexual and reproductive health and serves as Principal Investigator of the award-winning National Survey of Sexual Health and Behavior, which has been ongoing since 2009. Dr. Herbenick's research, books, and expertise have been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Vogue, NPR, CBC, the Tamron Hall Show, Tyra, Discovery Health, The Doctors, and in thousands of others media. The Caregiver's Journal is the show where we are sharing the caregiving experiences, stories, and wisdom of family caregivers. Chapter 3 - "The Unexpected Crisis": In this journal entry, we welcomed Angelena Taylor, Debbie Weiss, and RoxAnne Daignault who shared their stories and experiences on "The Unexpected Crisis". Angelena Taylor is a proud daughter, military caregiver, cat mom, world traveler, and reigning Ms. USA Ambassador. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Angelena works part-time as a behavior analyst but her most prominent and favorite role to date has been as a caregiver for over 8 years to her father Benjamin who is a stroke survivor and veteran. Becoming a caregiver at the age of 28 without much assistance or support birthed Angelena's passion for advocating for her fellow caregivers and restructuring the care infrastructure. She has been heavily involved as a fellow with organizations such as Caring Across Generations and The Elizabeth Dole Foundation where she has been able to connect with hundreds of other caregivers, collaborate with elected officials, and more. Featured in The New York Times and on The Tamron Hall Show, Angelena's story is one of 53 million caregivers (and estimated 5.5 million military caregivers) in the USA with the special redemption song of winning the prestigious title of Ms. USA Ambassador 2023. Angelena created Crown the Caregiver as a platform of awareness and advocacy in the caregiving community and plans to launch services as a Certified Caregiving Specialist soon. Debbie Weiss became a family caregiver at 17 after her father's massive stroke. Her caregiving experience intensified after her son's diagnosis with autism spectrum disorder and then ADHD, depression and anxiety and after her husband became permanently disabled. Over the last decade, Debbie learned to balance caring for her family with taking care of herself. Even after losing her husband in 2022, she's still here, caring for her boys, navigating widowhood, but also living life on her terms. RoxAnne Daignault is the parent of a child who has struggled with mental illness for over 17 years and is now an independent adult successfully living on their own. She spent much of her time attending support groups, workshops, and courses related to mental health, coaching, and supporting other caregivers in search of finding a community that she could connect with on these challenges. She has spoken at various event about her experiences, notably the Vancouver Mental Health Conference in 2013 and most recently the Two-Eyed Seeing Conference in 2023. She now shares my expertise and creating an environment of peer support, education and empowerment with other parents and caregivers through organizations that she partners with; Parent's for Children's Mental Health, Firefly, Lake of the Woods District Hospital and Canadian Mental Health Association Fort Frances, so that others can find a sense of belonging and experience the same sense of community that she found when it mattered most.  The Caregiver's Journal is hosted by Lance A. Today's episode is sponsored by BetterHelp.  Just in case you're thinking about joining that incredible business opportunity selling a life changing product…don't give them your credit card info until you've listened to this A Little Bit Culty remix. We've put together a special Anti-MLM 101 Starter Kit episode with some of our favorite crusaders in the war on schemes, scams, and other internet flim-flams especially for you. Our upline on this one is pretty solid. We dug into our archives and Roberta Blevins came out swinging, so a segment from our Season 2 episode with the LuLa Rich fan fave is at the top of the batting list. She chats with us about the dangers of moldy leggings, #bossbabe energy, pricey sea cruises, other MLM tomfoolery. After Roberta, we move on to a clip from our more recent episode with Emily Lynn Paulson, an author and mother who believes that all MLMs—which form a $180 billion industry—are cults. Spoiler alert: We violently agree. And last but not least, we go all the way back to our Season 1 chat with Douglas Brooks, an attorney and MLM-buster with insights on what it takes to seek justice for people who've been screwed over. Take heart: When prosperity gospel grifters write big checks that their sneaky asses can't cash, there can be legal consequences. NOTES: Roberta Blevins was a Trainer with LuLaRoe, had a team of 75 women under her, and made over $65,000 in bonuses alone. But when she came to the conclusion that it was a rigged, losing game she didn't just leave the business: she testified in the Washington State vs. LuLaRoe Pyramid Scheme lawsuit as a witness for the state. Since leaving MLM, the fan favorite from the LuLaRich series has educated herself on the systemic structure of the business model, the psychological manipulation, the seedy underbelly and governmental ties, the cult indoctrination, and the history of Multi Level Marketing. She educates daily on TikTok, and podcasts in her "free time" on her own podcast, Life After MLM, which explores the dangers of Multi Level Marketing through the eyes of the victims and survivors. Her work has been featured on Amazon Prime Video, Vice Media, Bloomberg News, Split, and Business Insider among others. Paulson has also been featured in major publications such as the Today Show, New York Times, Washington Post, The Seattle Times, Chicago Tribune, Next Question with Katie Couric, and the Tamron Hall Show.
