David is clearly passionate about increasing participation and performance in youth sport and his creation; scoreboard soccer is a really interesting twist on how to keep kids more engaged during practice and is definitely worth checking out for all coaches out there. Similar to both of the previous two seasons, I've set up this podcast with a dual purpose in mind, firstly to provide some thoughtful debate for coaches, but I've also linked up with the Lily Daly Foundation, who are a new charity raising funds for the heart ward in Crumlin children's hospital and Ronald McDonald house. In episode #161 I chat with Author, Coach Educator and Performance Rugby Consultant, Paul Phillips.  We discuss his experiences of developing high performance cultures in professional rugby.  Paul also shares some research on tackling and how to overcome fears with helpful triggers as well as other fascinating insights. Key Learning Points: In Rugby at the lower levels fear is very prominent. Establishing values and behaviours that are coupled with a vision for the team and club is an essential part of culture development. Why can't we generate behaviours before thoughts and emotions? James Clear's two-minute rule in the book Atomic Habits is a good way to start to develop habitual behaviours. The size of the opponent in rugby can be a big factor in activating fear. Visual, kinaesthetic and auditory cues and triggers are helpful in dealing with fear when tackling. Using metaphors such as images of animals or superhero's is a helpful trigger for adults and children. The development of positive relationships between players and coaches is a hallmark of high performing teams. Extrinsic environments are rife largely down to the way messages are communicated from senior staff and coaches in clubs and organisations. Too much focus on external factors results in lower emotional control. "When I went to beauty school it completely changed my life!'' says Nichole Farine, Owner of NC Hair Studio, Etna, PA. As a teen mom with a GED + a milllion jobs before starting beauty school she was looking into nursing school, hated it. Fascinated by haircutting she realized "I don't want to deal with you when you'r sick I to want to deal with you when you're happy/healthy + want to feel beautiful.'' So, in 2010 at 22 she went to beauty school + never looked back! Nichole believes we are all divinely guided + every single person on this earth has a purpose… 1 year later she opened her business where she now specializes in French Cutting + Balayage. She says Balayage is 100% different from what you've been taught for blonding or foiling. From the way you mix, stand, tools you use clay lightener is different! After taking a class at a hair show and applying (and being accepted), she became a Sunlights Balage Educator! As a hands-on Balyage educator, in 2020 her wheels got spinning…. ‘'How can I deliver my education anywhere in the world?'' and close the gap between a hands on clas and a ref refresher class at home where students can practice at their own pace. Education every single day at your fingertips and inspiring more people was her goal and ‘'The French Stylist Academy'' was conceived. ''No 2 stylists will ever paint alike because our visions are different''says Nicole who's mission is to get more people creative and stand in their own artistic vision using hand painted Balayage. From starting out to knowing nothing about Balayage to standing out on social media as a Balayage expert, Nichole teaches hands on Balyage along with the basics (of balayage and high-lights, low-lights, shading, melting) + put everything she knows into her 6 week live course with access for life. PRO TIPS: #1 | Pick a niche to build your confidence + expertise #2 | As an artist behind the chair you're going to evolve #3 | With social media you can reach anyone today #4 | Balayage lets you work fast + efficient; clients don't want to sit for 5 hrs! #5 | Being a successful hair stylist doesn't mean the number of years behind the chair, but it means your confidence level, how much education your willing to invest in yourself, that's what's going to set you apart + have you charge your worth. FAVE TOOLS: 7.5" french cutting shears Color: Matrix Lightner: Sunlights Styling: Living Proof; Crew WORDS OF WISDOM:

For them, free play is a must, a tool for athletes and young men to grow for real. Today we'd like to highlight the importance of this kind of project. But first we advise you to settle down by reading this article: https://www.psychologytoday.com/intl/blog/freedom-learn/202111/the-team-coached-themselves-won-the-tournamentYes, that's right, Ian chose to take his team, already trained using Free Play, into a structured competition and guess what, the team won the tournament. Without him.We asked Ian why he made this choice...Hear what he replied and enjoy this incredible episode!-----Allenare con il gioco libero è possibile?
