Quick SummarySonya Szabo is a Canadian business lawyer, former café owner, and entrepreneur who has never done things the conventional way — and that's exactly why it works. In this episode, she returns to the Rain or Shine podcast after eight years to share the full arc of her story: building and selling the Vic Café, going to law school at forty, battling imposter syndrome, and ultimately creating a law practice that reflects her values instead of the industry mold.In This EpisodeHow Sonya opened the Vic Café at 35 with three kids — and led with boundaries from day oneWhy she hired a manager before opening the doorsThe highs and hard realities of running a brick-and-mortar restaurant for eight yearsGoing back to law school at forty and navigating four years of imposter syndromeThe "90-year-old self" exercise Sonya uses to make every major decisionHer "quit week" in 2025 — what triggered it and what brought her backWhy in-person relationship-building has been her most effective marketing strategyWhat Zebo Law does and how to work with SonyaKey TakeawaysKnow your priorities before you open your doors. A Forest Of Whispering Speakers - The BookTwo writers. Ten years of trust. One Tragically Hip catalogue. Episode two is the story of how the book got written without flattening the band.Episode SummaryA Forest Of Whispering Speakers is the oral history of the Theatre Aquarius world premiere of It's a Good Life If You Don't Weaken, the new musical built on the music of The Tragically Hip. Act II: The Book is the writers' room episode — how an exile's journey gets shaped into a story, and how Hip songs become the emotional grammar of that story without ever turning it into a band biography or a jukebox musical.Host jD sits down with co-writers Ahmed Moneka and Jesse LaVercombe, with producer Michael Rubinoff and Tragically Hip manager Jake Gold stepping in to frame the bigger picture. The episode opens at a campfire in Prince Edward County in 2015, traces the ten-year partnership that built King Gilgamesh and the Man of the Wild at Soulpepper, and lands on the two different doors each writer walked through to find The Hip — one across a bridge in Bobcaygeon, the other watching Gord say goodbye from south of the border.Inside the episode: the load-bearing wall of a decade-long friendship, the yin-yang of Ahmed's exile and Jesse's grief, a Thornton Wilder quote about platitudes, and a working theory that 700 people in a theatre cannot lie to you at once.Guest InfoAhmed Moneka (Toronto, via Baghdad) — Co-writer of It's a Good Life If You Don't Weaken. Keen On Democracy
A Terrible, Terrible Intimacy: Melvin Patrick Ely on Interracial Life in the Slaveholding South

“The burdens of slavery did crush some people. They elicited outright armed rebellion from others. And between those two extremes, there's all manner of response. But black culture was what most historians say it was: rich, semiautonomous — and yet there is all kinds of cross-fertilization that goes on.” — Melvin Patrick Ely As we approach the 250th anniversary of the republic, America is still struggling to come to terms with its original sin — slavery. With his new micro-history, A Terrible Intimacy, Melvin Patrick Ely takes all the abstractions, moral and otherwise, out of the story. The meticulous Ely has spent many years in the county records of Prince Edward County, Virginia, going through 75 cartons of nineteenth-century papers: court cases, lawsuits, plantation ledgers, testimony from black and white witnesses alike. The result is a history of six criminal trials which reveals the intimacy of life between whites and blacks in the slaveholding South. In Prince Edward County, as on most small Southern farms — and contrary to our plantation mythology, fully half the enslaved people in the South lived on small properties of fewer than twenty people — black and white people knew each other personally. They drank together, worshipped together, spoke the same dialect, shared the same folk knowledge of weather, nature, and time. Ely tells the story of an enslaved man named Tom and his white overseer Richard Foster who consumed a quart of whiskey together in the morning, and then fought to the death that same afternoon over a surcingle strap. That was how blacks and whites lived and died. Such intimacy, Ely is careful to make clear, did not mitigate anything. Everyone knew the master who gouged a slave's eyes with sticks and pulled sound teeth out with pliers. But he was the outlier. Life was mostly more tragically complex. That was the terribly terrible intimacy about America's original sin. Five Takeaways •       Thirty Years in the County Records: Five or six entire summers, six days a week, eight hours a day, in the Library of Virginia — plus months of collating, plus years of writing. Seventy-five cartons of papers from Prince Edward County: court cases with witness testimony, plantation records, mercantile ledgers, letters, building contracts (including the bill from the carpenter who built the gallows on which one of the book's central figures was hanged). Ely's method: go through tens of thousands of documents looking for needles in a haystack — nuggets of revelatory information about how the society actually operated. Most historians process that research behind the scenes and deliver a smooth narrative. Ely does it in front of you, in conversation with the reader. •       Tom and the Overseer: A Quart of Whiskey and a Fight to the Death: The book's first chapter is built around one criminal trial. An enslaved man named Tom is on trial for killing his white overseer, Richard Foster, with the handle of a hoe. The testimony — from white witnesses including the dead man's own sister, and from other enslaved people on the farm — reveals that in the morning of the day of the killing, the two men had sat down and drunk together as much as a quart of whiskey. Then, later in the day, a stupid verbal exchange about a missing strap escalates into a fight to the death. In a single day: drinking like buddies, then killing. That is the terrible intimacy — closeness and callousness, not as opposites, but as the same thing. •       Half the Enslaved Lived on Small Farms: The plantation is the dominant image of American slavery — the sprawling estate, the hundreds of enslaved people, the distant master. But fully half of the enslaved people in the South lived on small properties of fewer than twenty people: farms where black and white people of every legal status — enslaved, free black, poor white, slaveholder — were in daily personal contact. They shared the same churches, the same dialects, the same understanding of nature and time. Black culture was rich and semiautonomous, but there was also constant cross-fertilization. The binary of master and slave does not capture what was actually happening in most of the South. •       Nobody Said a Word While He Was Alive: One chapter centers on an enslaved man who killed his master — a man the testimony reveals had beaten him with sticks, broken sticks over his head, gouged his eyes, whipped him, chained him to the floor, and pulled sound teeth from his mouth with pliers. At the trial, white witnesses are called. Their testimony ranges from glossing over the abuse to calling it “barbarious.” But not one of them had spoken up while the master was alive. Not one ever said: beating a slave with a stick must never be done. The range of white feeling about permissible cruelty was finite — some drew the line at near-blindness, some did not. Nobody drew it at the start. That is the system. •       Beyond Pride and Shame: Two hundred and fifty years on, the temptation is still to resolve slavery into a usable narrative — either the sentimental Southern white memory of paternalist kindness, or the equally schematic counter-narrative of unremitting oppression met by constant resistance. Ely resists both. Unremitting oppression does grind people down — but it also elicits armed rebellion, quiet subversion, rich cultural creation, and all manner of response in between. White Southerners were not all identical — but the range of their difference was constrained by a system that made economic gain dependent on the legal ownership of human beings. The book doesn't offer resolution. It offers accuracy. Which, in the 250th anniversary year, is the harder and more necessary thing. About the Guest Melvin Patrick Ely is the William R. “In the generation just before the Civil War, something like one-quarter of America's enslaved people lived on large plantations with fifty or more forced laborers—in essence, work camps, where contact with whites might be limited and mostly utilitarian. Another quarter lived on plantations where twenty to fifty persons were held in slavery. The typical owner of, say, thirty captive Black workers knew his enslaved people individually, even if their true feelings often remained hidden from him. That leaves half the South's enslaved population living on properties where fewer than twenty Black people were held in bondage. Households that included, say, five or ten enslaved folk were very numerous. Callousness and exploitation were baked into the system, but slavery on this scale also required physical closeness between white and Black. This sort of environment was home to nearly two million African Americans by 1860, and it represented the predominant pattern in Virginia, which held within its borders the largest enslaved population of any colony or state throughout the period from 1619 until 1865.These smaller farms and homes formed a system where, for the most part, the exploiters and the exploited knew one another personally, sometimes even intimately.”These are the words of my guest Melvin Patrick Ely in his new book A Terrible Intimacy: Interracial Life in the Slave Holding South. An eminent historian of slavery and the American South, Ely's last book was Israel on the Appomattox: A Southern Experiment in Freedom from the 1790s to the Civil War, for which he received the 2005 Bancroft prize. In A Terrible Intimacy he returns to the archives he knows better than anyone, the court records of Prince Edward County, Virginia, teasing from them what they reveal about what is perhaps the most complicated subject in American history.

Once again it is confirmed that a large hotel is a world unto itself and that this world is like the rest of the large world. The guests here roam about in their light-hearted, careless summer existence without suspecting anything of the strange mysteries circulating among them."   — Siegfried Kracauer, The Hotel Lobby On this special episode of Out There in the Dark, Azed and Tom check in to Hotel Confidential. This week, we're shifting our focus to a unique collaboration. Hotel Confidential is a new three-day contemporary art exhibition that brings together 16 local and international artists to reimagine The Royal Hotel's Annex in Picton, Prince Edward County. Curated by Christina Zeidler and Stacey Sproule, the exhibition transforms the hotel into a site for radical artistic experimentation and unexpected encounters. The curators reached out to us to explore the cinematic DNA of the hotel, and we're checking in for a deep dive. From the sterile isolation of high-end suites to the decaying hallways of the mind, we discuss six films that define the "hotel movie": Grand Hotel (1932, Edmund Goulding) Hotel Monterey (1972, Chantal Akerman) Mystery Train (1989, Jim Jarmusch) Barton Fink (1991, Joel & Ethan Coen) Lost in Translation (2003, Sofia Coppola) The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014, Wes Anderson) Films set primarily in hotels possess a peculiar, uncanny quality. Regardless of genre, the hotel is never just a backdrop; it is a structural machine. By offering both extreme privacy (the "Do Not Disturb" sign) and exposed public arenas (the lobby, the bar), hotels reflect both a rigid socio-political hierarchy and a Freudian dreamscape. Whether they are exposing the machinery of capitalism or the hidden selves we keep behind closed doors, hotel movies invite us to see ourselves in a new light—as long as it isn't a UV light.

Sylvain weighs in on stalled interprovincial trade and Premier Doug Ford's ongoing feud with Crown Royal and Diageo, exploring the politics of booze, bans, and consumer choice - and his support of ice cream maker Chapman's. The hosts also spotlight the wild-blueberry disaster in Atlantic Canada, where drought and fires have slashed yields by up to 70%, threatening regional processors and exports. Then the conversation shifts to a fascinating—and controversial—guest: Trent Klarenbach, BSA AgEc PAg, Special Crops & Grain Marketing Analyst and Founder of Klarenbach Research. A former Saskatchewan farmer turned analyst, Trent explains how he uses technical analysis—tools typically reserved for stock markets—to assess farmland value. His research suggests land in Saskatchewan and Alberta may be overbought, echoing warning signs that preceded the dramatic farmland correction of the 1980s.Trent describes how investor psychology and market cycles shape agriculture just as they do equities, applying RSI and Elliott Wave patterns to farmland data. He details his own journey through farming's booms and busts, his motivation for building a subscription-based insights service, and the mixed reactions he's received from farmers, lenders, and ag-finance professionals. For listeners seeking deeper understanding of the economics—and emotion—behind land ownership, his approach reframes how to think about farm equity and risk. The episode wraps with Michael and Sylvain analyzing temporary-foreign-worker fines, Tim Hortons' price move and Starbucks store closures, and Donald Trump's revived talk of U.S. dairy access. This week on Make It with Mike & Kristen, we welcome the wonderfully talented Angela Jane Lavender, Togetherland's guest artist for the month of October. Angela's mixed media paintings are an expressive dance of colour, texture, and energy — each piece filled with movement, intricate details, and thousands of tiny dots that draw the viewer deep into her vibrant world.   Growing up as the middle child of five in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Angela's creativity bloomed early (even if it meant decorating the furniture and walls before paper caught her attention). After earning top honours from Sheridan College's Visual and Creative Arts Program, she has continued to build a thriving art career that balances motherhood, teaching, and professional artistry — all while keeping her curiosity and intuition alive.   In this episode, Angela opens up about the ups and downs of being a full-time artist, finding her audience, and what “making it” means to her. She shares how she finally found her artistic voice — one that captures women, light, and energy — and how she integrates numerology and witchy elements into her creative process.   Join us for an inspiring and honest conversation about perseverance, play, and the power of following your artistic instincts.   Watch this episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@mikeandkristen   Join our Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/c/mikeandkristen   Us on the web: www.mikeandkristen.ca Instagram: www.instagram.com/mike_and_kristen/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/mikeandkristencreative Shoot us a message! On this encore episode Michael LeBlanc welcomes Carson Arthur, media personality and independent retailer, and the founder of Carson's Garden & Market in Prince Edward County. Carson's career journey is anything but traditional—moving from launching brands at Procter & Gamble, to building a television career as a design and gardening expert, and now into the world of retail entrepreneurship.Carson shares the inspiration behind launching his own store, Carson's Garden & Market, a destination nestled among wineries and breweries in Prince Edward County. Designed to showcase the gardening products and tools he loves most, the store reflects his philosophy of bringing joy to outdoor spaces while educating customers on the beauty and practicality of kitchen gardens and edible ornamentals. He offers a behind-the-scenes look at how he sources unique products from around the world, including gardening innovations from the UK, Japan, and Europe, while balancing a commitment to local Canadian suppliers. Carson also candidly discusses the challenges and opportunities of retailing through the pandemic. While many businesses struggled, Prince Edward County became a tourism hotspot, doubling his sales during peak years before settling into a post-pandemic reality where customer expectations and buying cycles continue to evolve.Carson reflects on the lessons learned as a small business owner—how to stay true to a business model, the importance of building a loyal customer base, and the realities of managing growth in uncertain times. He also offers pointed advice for governments and financial institutions about the critical role of small businesses in Canada's economy, urging more support during the early years when entrepreneurs are most at risk. For aspiring retailers, Carson shares his “two starts and one stop”:-Start by investing in your customer base.-Start by becoming an active member of your community.-Stop wearing rose-coloured glasses—always plan for downturns as much as growth.Looking ahead, Carson is doubling down on the kitchen garden trend, helping Canadians rethink their backyards as spaces for food security and beauty. His focus on educating consumers about growing edible ornamentals positions his business at the intersection of sustainability, lifestyle, and retail innovation. The hosts discuss how desegregation under Brown was hampered in schools by a policy of “all deliberate speed” where the speed was often zero.  In contrast, and despite the fact that in large portions of the nation education is separate and unequal, the Trump administration has begun an “all speed ahead” policy of eliminating decrees which contained desegregation requirements'.   https://www.axios.com/2025/05/02/doj-decades-old-school-desegregation-louisiana   In this episode of Ellis Conversations, co-host Jamil Ellis and his father, retired federal magistrate Judge Ronald Ellis, reflect on the 71st anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education—not just the 1954 decision, but its overlooked 1955 follow-up. They explore the legal and societal impacts of desegregation mandates, the resistance that followed, and how today's rollback of civil rights enforcement—particularly around school desegregation—echoes familiar patterns. With real-life stories, including Ruby Bridges and Prince Edward County's school closures, the conversation traces decades of policy evolution—from Milliken v. Bradley to Roberts Court rulings that undermine systemic remedies for segregation. The episode also offers generational perspectives on optimism, protest, and the need for youth leadership in safeguarding educational equity.

This episode opens with alarming news about Canada's food inflation reaching crisis levels. Charlebois reveals that Canada now has the highest food inflation rate among G7 countries, primarily driven by countervailing tariffs that have backfired on Canadian consumers. The hosts explain how Prime Minister Carney quietly eliminated most food-related tariffs on May 7th, though this decision received little public attention during the election. The discussion highlights how these tariffs made alternatives to American products more expensive, creating a perfect storm for Canadian grocery shoppers. The conversation shifts to emerging issues like "maple washing," where Charlebois shares specific examples of pricing discrepancies between products marketed as Canadian on the shelves versus imported products, urging grocers to exercise greater caution in their merchandising practices.A significant business development takes center stage as Quebec's Excel chicken processing cooperative faces a potential acquisition by Saputo subsidiary Sofina. This $6 billion deal could reshape Eastern Canada's supply chain under supply management systems, potentially leading to higher chicken prices and operational challenges. The interview segment features Dan Sullivan from Rosehall Run Vineyards, one of Prince Edward County's premier wine producers. Sullivan shares his 25-year journey transforming a 150-acre farm into one of Ontario's largest family-owned wineries in the region, producing 9,000-14,000 cases annually. He discusses how Prince Edward County evolved from a drive-through destination to a four-season wine tourism hotspot, emphasizing the region's focus on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals.Sullivan explains how social media marketing has revolutionized wine sales, moving away from traditional critic-driven recommendations toward peer influence and community building. He describes their dual distribution strategy, selling premium estate wines directly while maintaining LCBO presence with entry-level products that serve as consumer introductions to the brand. The episode explores recent Ontario government support for the wine industry, including Premier Doug Ford's $35 million funding commitment over five years. Sullivan expresses optimism about current market opportunities, particularly given recent trade disruptions that have created space for Ontario wines on retail shelves. We also discuss innovative celebrity food collaborations, highlighting Selena Gomez's partnership with Oreo to create a horchata-flavored cookie. They note Gomez's remarkable success as one of the youngest self-made billionaires at 32, worth $1.3 billion, mainly through her Rare Beauty brand and strategic collaborations. The discussion extends to other celebrity food ventures, including Ryan Reynolds' successful breakfast collaboration with Tim Hortons, which generated impressive lineups and sales. These segments underscore broader themes of food security, consumer choice, and the complex interplay between government policy and market dynamics affecting Canadian food producers and consumers.Premier Doug Ford photo credit: Photo by Ernest Doroszuk /Toronto Sun The Food Professor #podcast is presented by Caddle. The Sipster's Wine Podcast

Text us your wine questions, craziest wine experiences, or if you just have a comment for us. . This week's guest is Anne Du Bois who own Savon Du Bois in Picton, Prince Edward County, Ontario. I've always wanted to do an episode like this because it is not directly about wine but rather, about aromas almost exclusively. Anne Du Bois is an aromatherapist and perfumer who extracts her own scents and essential elements from botanicals to create a huge array of products from perfumes, essential oils, soaps, lotions, and salts, which is only a small amount of the things that Anne offers in her store. She oversees the production of all of it personally and is passionate about how aromas, and the ingredients that go into producing them, can impact our lives and our health.  I have been to the County many times in the past few years and only noticed her store on Main Street this past November on my last visit. I was walking down the street when suddenly I smelled the most amazing things walking past the door to one of the shops. Walking into her store is like immersing yourself in beauty. I probably spent about a half hour there just smelling everything I could as well as reading the stories on some of the packaging, part of some amazing marketing that she's created on the packaging of her carefully crafted scented products. Thankfully, Anne had time to meet me the next morning - the last morning that I was going to be in Picton - to record this conversation.Visit Savon Du Bois online at savondubois.com. Welcome to the Sipsters Podcast! In December of 1883 Peter Lazier, a traveling farm implement salesman, was shot in the heart during the botched robbery of a farmer and his wife in Prince Edward County, Ontario. Two men would be arrested and tried for the murder, but would the sparse evidence against them lead to freedom, prison or the gallows? My guest is Robert J. Sharpe, author of "The Lazier Murder: Prince Edward County, 1884". As a Canadian lawyer and judge, he offers unique insight into a controversial case that is still remembered in Prince Edward County today. Ontario's Prince Edward County is a region we hype up on the pod regularly, so we were stoked to have the newest brewery in town hang out and crush some brews. Husband and wife team Colin and Steph VanderMeulen joined Cee and Nate to chat about the Dune Hopper story and Colin's history in craft beer, why they try not to fit in but offer something different to their neighbours, their approach to their impeccable branding and how that flows to their taproom and merch, why dogs and kids are encouraged, the importance of co-signs and working with other great breweries, why the County is such a great place for beer and wine tourism (and why Quebecois folks love it), and how they plan to slowly expand across the province. They got into some fantastic Dune Hopper brews - Tent Pitcher Craft Lager, Solo Trip (Simcoe) Single Hop IPA, Hatchet NEIPA, Adventure (Strawberry Passionfruit) Sour, and Hard Water (Banana Seltzer). Always fun to discover a phenomenal brewery - cheers!  BAOS Podcast Subscribe to the podcast on YouTube | Website | Theme tune: Cee - BrewHeads

This weeks guest is Madeleine Hayles who is a sommelier and the owner of Happy Coffee And Wine, a cafe and wine bar in the Parkdale neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Mads had done several stints at classic restaurants like Terroni and higher end fine dining at Actinolite and Hop Goods Foodliner, but she found her passion working at Midfield Wine Bar. After 4 years there, Mads and several partners opened up Happy Coffee and Wine in 2019 - a neighbourhood spot focused on keeping wine diverse and affordable. The cafe and wine bar is more likely to carry a pet-nat than a barolo, but aren't necessarily a natural wine bar. More recently, Mads has gotten into winemaking. Mads has done a couple of harvests at Trail Estate Winery in Prince Edward County, and at 2Naturkinder in Franken, Germany. Currently, Mads is working on her own wine project focusing on Ontario hybrid varietals, hopefully to be released in the new year. Mads is also working on a new collaboration with Jess Maiorano, the chef & owner of Pasta Forever, a specialty pasta shop, Italian grocer & caterer on Dundas West. Episode 199 Details Epic Struggle: Kayak Angler's 11-Mile Battle and Poacher's 24-Year Hunting Ban   Latest News: Outdoors & Western Living Marlin Tows Across Ocean Kayak Angler  Listen to this story - How far would you go?? In early August, California fisherman Kei Vang embarked on a fishing trip with two friends, targeting tuna off the coast of California. They were about six miles out when Vang hooked a massive striped marlin, leading to a dramatic five-hour battle.  The marlin towed Vang's 12-foot kayak approximately 11 miles over 5 hours time across the Pacific Ocean before the striped marlin began to tire, beginning to circle underneath the kayak. It was then the angler was able to grab the leader and finally able to get a good look at the billfish which was longer than his kayak, having him believe it to be 13 feet long and estimated to weigh around 200 pounds. He then managed to cut the line and release the fish. An Epic Struggle! Vang and his friends had to use GPS units mounted on their kayaks to map the distance the striped marlin had taken them, which totaled about 20 miles from shore. They were carrying extra batteries along with VHF radios and other safety gear. As night fell, realizing it would take hours to paddle back, they called a friend with a power boat who rescued them and towed their kayaks back. Vang said every kayak angler's dream is to catch a big fish and have a photo made of it holding it up next to their kayak… That wasn't possible with his Striped Marlin, who didn't get a photo with the marlin, considered having a replica mount made instead. FACEBOOK AIDES IN CATCHING POACHER In December 2023, photos of a famous nontypical Virginia buck, known as the "Hollywood Buck," posted on Facebook led to accusations against Virginia resident Jason Walters for poaching. Walters, who initially claimed to have killed the deer in Prince Edward County, was identified as having illegally hunted the buck and two other whitetails from Richmond, Virginia. Following a thorough investigation by the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR), Walters pled guilty to 20 wildlife violations. He was sentenced to six months in jail (with three months suspended), fined $2,500, and ordered to pay $11,000 in restitution. His hunting privileges were revoked for 100 years, but with 76 years suspended, leaving an effective ban of 24 years. Walters' accomplice was also found guilty and received a $1,250 fine, 30 days of house arrest, and a six-year suspension of his hunting privileges. The DWR emphasized that these penalties are among the harshest ever imposed and aim to deter future wildlife crimes. Investigations revealed that Walters had previously posted photos of the Hollywood Buck and other deer on Facebook, which were linked to the poaching incident. This case highlights the critical role of social media in wildlife law enforcement. Bison, Buffalo The Rut Is On  For those heading to ANY United States park with Buffalo, Bison… Take this as "You've been warned"… The Yellowstone National Park rangers have a statement for everyone: The bison rut is in full swing. You may see mature males with their mouth open, tongue out and upper lips pulled back. This is how bull bison sniff pheromones and determine whether a female is ready to breed. Bulls will also display their dominance by bellowing, wallowing, and engaging in fights with other bulls. The winners earn the right to mate with receptive females. Bison are unpredictable and can run three times faster than humans. Use extra caution and give them additional space during this time. Development of a unique style in nature photography is something most of us strive for in our quests as photographers of the landscape. Sometimes it is hard to put into words what that even means or looks like, and there are a plethora of variables that impact one's unique style. On today's podcast episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with one of my favorite Canadian nature photographers, Jason Pettit, about his journey and approach to the craft, including his approach for distillation of subject, which I found to be quite interesting. Sit back, relax, and enjoy our chat! On this week's episode, we discuss: Jason's journey into photography. What life is like in Prince Edward County, where Jason lives and grew up. Using photography as a vehicle for self-discovery and therapy. Why we choose nature photography over something else. Our evolution as photographers. Identification of a unique style and what even means in nature photography. Distillation of subjects for maximum impact. Making home a lifelong photography project. Jason's earliest and current influences. How Jason copes as a nature photographer who is color blind. And a lot more! If you enjoyed our chat, we did a whole bonus episode on Patreon where Jason and I pontificate the ramifications of AI on nature photography.
