Endlich eine passende Hülle für Google's Pixel Telefone... von Google selbst! Für die Google Serie, zumindest die Modelle 2 und 3, gibt es von Google selbst nun endlich passende Schutzhüllen - wahlweise in Stoff oder mit einem individuellen GoogleMaps-Kartenauszug auf der Rückseite. Produziert werden diese in den meisten Fällen noch am Tag der Bestellung in China und dann in rekordverdächtigen vier Werktagen per UPS über Amsterdam nach Europa und an Eure Adresse geliefert. Nur kostet eine Plastikhülle mit 50 Euro nicht zu viel Geld, um eine sinnvolle Anschaffung zu sein? Das Google Pixel 2 in seiner Google Pixel Maps Schutzhülle... na, wo bin ich? Das Google Pixel 2 XL macht es Drittanbietern doppel schwer: Finde eine dünne und haltbare Hülle, die für die Rückseite wirklich passgenau ist (machbar!) - und dann noch ein Schutzglas für die gekrümmte Display-Vorderseite (unmöglich!)... und Du bist eine Menge Geld los und hast jede Menge Umtauschkandidaten auf Deinem Tisch liegen. Aber nun kommt Abhilfe: Google selbst bietet für die 2er- und 3er-Serie der Pixel/Pixel XL eigene Hüllen an. Diverse Farboptionen und zwei Typen: "Stoffcover" oder Plastik. Wobei die Stoffcover mit fixen Farben kommen und fertig. Die aus Plastik sind flexibler - da man, neben diversen Mustern und Farbspielereien, frei aus GoogleMaps einen Kartenausschnitt wählen und auf das Cover (ohne Aufpreis! Wobei - 50€, das ist teuer genug!) drucken lassen kann. Ab sofort spreche ich nur noch über die Plastik-Cover, die Stoffcover bei Interesse selbst im Google Store checken! Das Ganze wird mehr oder weniger tagesaktuell in China gefertigt und mit UPS innerhalb von vier Werktagen an Eure Haustür geliefert. Ihr könnt noch wählen, ob das Cover Doppelschicht haben soll oder 10 Euro günstiger sein darf, als schlanker Schutz. Winkel ungünstig gewählt - die Hülle passt wie angegossen, auch wenn es nicht so aussieht! Endlich eine, die perfekt passt! Ich habe mit Sicherheit vier oder fünf Hüllen von Drittanbietern zurück geschickt: Zu viel Spiel, keine perfekte Passform oder plötzlich ragt ein Stück der Hülle über eine Taste drüber... unfassbar... und dann angeblich lauter gute Bewertungen bei einem großen bekannten Online-Versender... Fragt nicht nach den Schutzgläsern für das Display: KEIN EINZIGES hat gepasst. Am schlimmsten sind "Gläser", die sich als schlechte Kunststoffaufkleber entpuppen... und trotzdem an den abgerundeten Rändern nicht eine Sekunde haften wollen. Oder Gläser, die zu klein sind und dann die Kamera oder die Sensoren oben verdecken - Zack! Rücksendung! Und dann: endlich ein passendes. War klar, preislich das teuerste, mit knapp 20 Euro. Aber das Teil war auch nur ok, wenn man ignoriert hat, dass es nicht beidseitig perfekt hält - was dazu führte, dass man irgendwann das Handy aus der Hosentasche zieht - und das Glas nicht mehr drauf ist. Also: Altglasrecycling. Gut, der Display-Schutz ist weiter offen, aber der Handyschutzhülle ist endlich gelöst... wenn auch zu einem "Goldkanten"-Preis dank der Google-eigenen Hülle. Aber: ein Manko, neben dem Preis, habe ich auch sofort entdeckt, nachdem ich die Hülle nach Erhalt über mein Handy gestülpt habe: es gibt eine potentielle Sollbruch-Stelle: Google Pixel Hülle: Wäre ja zu schön gewesen, wenn da nicht doch eine Schwachstelle in Sicht wäre...Wie ich auf diese Idee komme? Weil die Hülle bereits im frisch ausgepackten Zustand bei den Aussparungen Spielraum hat und dabei leise "Knackgeräusche" von sich gibt. Ich kann mir also gut vorstellen, dass bei einem heftigen Sturz auf die Seite die Hülle exakt hier bricht und damit sofort unbrauchbar wird. Und, ein weiteres dickes Minus entwickelte sich ganz deutlich in den Tagen nach Installation der Hülle: Die Rückseite des Pixel 2 XL ist sowas von unglaublich rutschig, dass "Hülle" nicht als Alternative, sondern als "Muss" auf der Einkaufsliste stand. Blöd nur, dass die Google-Plastik-Hülle genauso, wenn nicht noch rutschiger ist, als das Handy ohne weiteren Schutz direkt in der Hand zu halten. Aber: da die Hülle am Rand bündig mit der Form des Handys abschließt, ist zumindest ein geringer Schutz im Vergleich zu keiner Hülle im Fall eines Falles gegeben. Aber, machen wir uns nichts vor: auf Grund der Materialien dürfte das Pixel einen Sturz so oder so nicht unbeschädigt überstehen. Juhuuu: Endlich eine perfekt passende Hülle, na klar, vom Hersteller. Wurde ja auch Zeit! Buuuuh: Warum zum Teufel ist die Rückseite gefühlt rutschiger als die Rückseite des Handys? Und was soll die Schwachstelle rund um die Tasten, die ab Herstellung zum kaputt gehen bestimmt sind? Ach ja: und der Preis! Clou: Gute Qualität, nach einem Monat Dauereinsatz kein Verblassen oder Lösen der Farbe erkenntlich. Bitterer Geschmack: der Preis für eine rutschige Rückseite und der sofort entdeckten Schwachstelle bei den Bedienknöpfen.
