A program setup by USA hockey for disabled veterans to use adaptive sports as a outlet for PTSD and anxiety. 2022 put together a event called Vetstock. It was a one night event for veterans to just hangout with like minded people. As the event was starting I realized we could showcase the local veteran nonprofits and give them the stage to talk about their programs. After a very successful event hosting around 100 veterans and families. I was asked multiple time to create a yearly event. As we formed the new board the name was changed to HEROSTOCK. We then included first responders and gold star families as well as veterans and their families. The event offers a cornhole game with prizes, 2 food truck, a silent auction, a gun raffle, 4 bands and a ton of laughs and hugs all this and it's 100% free(besides booze and food) this event is a great place to network person to person, nonprofit to nonprofit, and person to nonprofit. This is a 501c3 organization with plans for growth every year to help as many veterans first responders and gold star families and organizations as possible.Links:https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100090833425654Randas Ride - The 1000 mile Iron Butt ride to Vetstock51 people interestedJesse Coco Cunninghamhttps://facebook.com/events/s/randas-ride-the-1000-mile-iron/478236111109647/Jason SteinerRuck Battle at Herostock 202344 people interestedRuck-it Up 4Warriorshttps://facebook.com/events/s/ruck-battle-at-herostock-2023/1430327027374224/Facebook (https://facebook.com/events/s/randas-ride-the-1000-mile-iron/478236111109647/)Randas Ride - The 1000 mile Iron Butt ride to VetstockEvent in Ashland, NE, United States by Jesse Coco Cunningham and 2 others on Friday, September 8 2023LINKS:https://nonprofitarchitect.org/combat-vet-vision/https://www.facebook.com/iconutilityservices/photos/pcb.3282304212030773/3282304082030786/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqvd5sUEtC9xkm7ejGNK5Zw/featuredhttps://www.facebook.com/aqseiberthttps://www.facebook.com/CombatVetVisionEmail: Aqseibert@yahoo.comThe Warrior Built Foundation - https://warriorbuilt.org/The PTSD Foundation of America - https://ptsdusa.org/Virtual Office(Come see me) Virbella.comSponsorsSitch Radio - https://sitchradio.com/If you would like to become a sponsor or advertiser Call Sitch Radio (714) 643-2500 X 1I part of the solution or the problem.PTSD FOA Warrior Group Chaptershttps://ptsdusa.org/about-us/chapters/

This week on our motorcycle podcast we are joined by Wendy and Ian, who just got the official recognition from Guinness of their new world record. They are both veterans of the Iron Butt rallies and long distance riding, but that wasn't hard enough. They wanted the ultimate long distance riding challenge; visiting all of the United States in alphabetical order. Think about that. Here's just the first 5 in order: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California. And because Ian was on a tourist visa from Australia, they would only have a few months to complete it. With months of planning and preparation, what could go wrong? How about emergency surgery, hitting a kangaroo whilst on the first half of the trip in Australia, cracking a frame in half and lightning storms to name a few. They share their stories and tricks to keeping their older bikes running like tops, and how they managed to not give up. They completed over 80,000 miles in the US alone, and almost 100,000 miles over all. With Liza, Miss Emma, Ray Ray, Scott, Naked Jim and Bagel. Its 2021! After talking about our holidays and rides, we got into things we got for our motorcycles over the Holidays, and what we wanted to get. We then talked about trips we are hoping to make on our motorcycles in 2021. This lead to a discussion of practicing riding, Motojitsu exercises, and whether it is helpful to practice knee down riding. Brian H. then joined us and shared his opinion on knee down practicing, and also his recent purchase of a BMW s1000xr, and taking it drag racing at Sonoma Raceway. Also his extended Iron Butt riding on his BMW g310gs.   Whether it could be done on an electric motorcycle.   He’ll be joining us in future shows… Here’s hoping for a great 2010! This will give you some insight into why Chuck has absolutely no friends whatsoever.  After Chuck steals the show from Deb with his so called motorcycle ride. Rider Coach Deb regains control and finally gets this show back on track. In the WTF segment Deb discusses the Art Long Distance Riding featuring information on the Iron Butt Association and the Saddlesore 1000. Deb talks about motorcycle air filters and Chuck is totally dumbfounded. Learn about the 3 purposes for and air filter and how it affects every area of your life. :) A new segment of Wackadoodle Things is introduced - Deb brings up a Flying Motorcycle and how you can get yours next year.  Chuck is confused (what else is new) and doesn't understand how a motorcycle could fly.  This fool razzles Deb for being blonde and from Texas. Is this a hoverboard?? You won't find the answer in this episode of Biker Life Radio. Chuck freaks out (as usual) when Deb announces that Triumph Motorcycles has produced a new motorcycle call Rocket and several others.  Chuck begs for motorcycle manufacturers to send them motorcycles to demo. They have rides and routes setup or you can create your own ride that will take you wherever you want to ride.  There are small fees to enter a certified challenge and everything needs to be verified before you make the website list. You'll have to keep gas receipts with times and locations and have certain documents signed for later verification.  The Iron Butt Association has about 60,000+ members and is based in the United States, however, they have thousands of members throughout the globe!  If you are considering an Iron Butt Challenge on a Harley then you absolutely must listen in to this podcast episode. Rob and Jonathan will give you inside details about doing a challenge. They share important tips, tricks, and insights on what it takes to complete a challenge. Tonight Rich and Rico get the latest news from Jon on his past weekend trip with the Moto Amino Dragon Krew.  Jon took a little adventure and rode down to Key West, Florida.  On the ride down the plan was to complete the saddle sore 1000 Iron Butt Challenge.  This challenge is to complete 1000 miles in 24 hours or less.  There was a small delay in getting out of North Carolina as DaRula's chain broke while running about 70 mph on I-85 just south of Charlotte, NC. To answer the question - yes everyone doing the saddle sore did complete it, in fact they did 1119 miles in 22 1/4 hours! After arriving at the hotel at 1:30 AM - back on the road by 9:30 AM to finish the ride to Key West, FL.  Did a little sightseeing and then headed back north and planning to stay at OIFVET22's house south west of Jacksonville, FL.  Before getting back to the mainland of Florida, Jon followed a recommendation from brother Zyon to stop for dinner at Hobo Cafe in Key Largo, FL.  Highly recommend the place if you are in the area. The Dragon Krew didn't arrive until 5 AM.  After a little sleep and home cooked meal they were back on the road around 12:30 pm and Irish's brother-in-law escorted the Krew out of state.  Jon arrives home around 11:30 pm, but there was a small adventure with an NC state trooper.  Moto Amino Members on Ride:IrishmanJonKP MotoRatYamiR6Jaburbee95CruxJac-FZ09DaRula (Broke Down in Charlotte)PDMoto MommaOIFVET22Irish Brother-In-Law EVENTS2nd Annual Congregation Show - April 14 2-8pm2nd Annual East Coast Meetup - June 9th, 2018 - Captial Powersports, Wake Forest, NC.3rd Annual Motorcycle Podcasters Challenge June 21st 2018 - July 11th 20181st Annual Loud Pipes Meetup - July 13-1414th Annual Barber Vintage Fest. - October 5th - 7th 2018 (Jon is going Roger plans to ride out from Oregon .Support the show and receive rewards for your contribution by visiting loudpipes.net/donate.  Patreon is our focus and is an ongoing support model.  There is also a link for one-time donations and support of any size is greatly appreciatedRunning time: 1 hour 09 minutesQuestions or comments: feedback@rdubstudios.com or the Feedback page

In Part II of our series encouraging people to leave town and go touring on our motorcycle, we invited the best long distance tourer in America. 1000 mile days are likely not your goal. A 250 mile day can be perfect with a little planning. Jim Owen just completed the 2017 Iron Butt Rally with his second win. This is an amazing acomplishment. anyone who has ever had a 1,000 mile day knows what a challenge it can be. When you are required to string 11 days of 1,000 per day together to win the IBR it requires drastic measures that are each very well planned. Jim takes a systematic approach to the Iron Butt.  We take his systematic approach and break it down to help us all learn how to truly enjoy motorcycle touring solo or two up. The information from last weeks show in Part I with Carl Reese, Deana Mastracci and Norm Nelson combined with the valuable information we get from Jim Owen may produced the most comprehensive guide to fun touring ever.  Thank you for listening to this episode of Talking Motorcycles with Barry Boone Special thanks to Clearwater Lights, Bell Powersports, TrueToyotaParts.com, Bruce Rossmeyers Daytona Harley Davidson, Sweet Marlays' Coffee and Bakery and Dunlop Motorcycle Tires.

Des Easton loves Long Distance Motorcycle Riding! Traveling by motorcycle is fun, exhilarating but pretty energy zapping. Traveling hundreds of miles a day, day after day, sounds exhausting, But that is what retiree Des does .. for fun! Members of ‘Far Riders’ and the ‘Iron Butt’ groups set themselves challenges of long distance rides most bikers would not consider. But don’t get the idea that this is a dangerous undertaking. They plan and practice, sometimes for years, before attempting these feats, and travel strictly in accordance with the law and speed limits. Des explains the discipline and preparation which has allowed him to complete twenty thousand kilometers in twenty days. A challenge most of us wouldn’t even consider driving in a car. But he and his friends love it. He describes the routine required, from planning fuel stops to committing to a special diet. Your first thought may be .. “I bet they cheat,” but he nails that thought by explaining the protocols and confirmations riders have to complete for their trips to be formally recognized by their association. Long distance motorcycle riding is certainly not for every retiree, but if you are an experienced motorcyclist this is a new challenge, and a new group of slightly deranged fanatics you can hook up with. Even if you don’t ride, this is a great tale of courage and achievement. And Des tells a really gross story about one of his exploits!! A good example of this would be mountain ride discussed in episode 42. Reading recommendation for preparing the mind and body for long distance riding:Building an Iron Butt (source: BikeBandit.com) Rich: Focus on getting hydrated couple of days before ride Get a good amount of quality rest Do a nut and bolt check of bike a few weeks before ride, so you have time to correct larger issues Plan out a realistic route with some options for change Rico: Perform bike check- breaks, tires, tire pressure, fluids, and chain/belts Focus on yourself - eat light, hydrate, stretch, etc Check the weather so know what type of gear you need Have right gear for the type of riding you plan to do Have reflective gear if riding at night to make sure you are seen by others Ted: Carry a tire repair kit and tire pump Have extra oil and fuel A must is to have zip ties as they can be very useful in many cases Tool kit Wear compression gear to help with blood flow Camelbak to allow you drink while riding so you stay hydrated. Use the street view in Google Maps to have and idea what road will be like. Jon: Have route planned out and everyone be familiar with an overview of the route. Alternative to using dedicated GPS unit - check out an app called Co-Pilot (https://copilotgps.com/us/personal/). Our special guest Deb Gasque from The Fashionista has an IRON BUTT, joins us to share her long distance riding experience.  Being someone who likes coffee as much as do, we swapped our usual barley with beans for this episodeBackgroundOriginally from Utah, Deb moved to South Carolina and lives with her husband and garage full of bikes.  Starting out in 2006 as a passenger riding with her husband, she decided to take hold of the bars and ride her own.BikesSV650 was the first bike, but the husband felt this may be a bit much to learn on (see the next bike).Honda Rebel 250 - In response to the first bike, Deb was a little put off by the "baby bike" but eventually came to appreciate the weight for learning, especially picking it up. BMW GS650 (named GOAT after dropping a few times riding in the mountains)1994 BMW R1100 RS1994 BMW R1100 RSL - "new" bike :)The ideaDuring winter while not much riding is going on, Deb reads and article about about the Iron Butt.  Being a lover of a good challenge, Deb started mapping out how to complete the Iron Butt SaddleSore 1000. The ridesAfter some conversation with her husband, the planning was on and off she went.  After completing the first Iron Butt ride Deb fell in love with long distance riding and has been hooked since. In 2015 Deb completed the Bun Burner 1500 within the 36 allotted hours and covered 1600 miles.  This year she is planning to do the 50CC.  The plan is to leave from Jacksonville, FL and ride to San Diego CA.  On her way back she is planning to stop at the Barber Vintage Festival.  Look for the Loud Pipes crew to be there for an update on the ride as we enjoy our second trip to Barber. This episode was great fun for us and we look forward to catching up with Deb in the future. Running time: 1 hour 02 minutesQuestions or comments: feedback@rdubstudios.com or the Feedback page

OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER WEBSITE: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-In this episode we dive into the true life story of a very remarkable Law Abiding Biker.  Paul Pelland, also known as "Long Haul Paul", has a truly amazing story and he shares everything with me in this interview. You won't want to miss this biker podcast episode of true inspiration and dedication.  I learned that Paul Pelland is an absolute machine and force to be reckoned with in spite of the fact that in 2005 he was diagnosed with Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS). He didn't let that stop him from being a biker and he made it his life's mission to ride his motorcycle a million miles in his fight to bring awareness to MS.  It is called "Paul Pelland's Endless Road Tour".  In addition, he is driving efforts to raise money for MS research and to find a cure! The inaugural 2013 MS5000 ride was a great successful fundraiser.  45 riders collectively rode 200,000 miles while raising $23,000 for Multiple Sclerosis.  Anyone can enter the MS5000 event and you ride the miles you can to support the National MS Society. The reason for this Law Abiding Biker Podcast Episode is because of a loyal listener's email.  He made me aware of Paul Pelland and his mission.  I want to thank Quentin Lewis of Leicester, MA for the following email: "You probably don't know me (except for some dumb comments on FB as one of your podcast listeners), but I wanted to introduce you to Paul Pelland, known as "Long Haul Paul", because he was an Iron Butt rally guy in a prior life.....I say prior life because that was before he was diagnosed with Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS). Anyways.....he has made it his mission to ride for MS, and he is working on what he calls his "Million Miles for a Cure". Paul has organized the MS5000, and it is a ride that any of us can make where we will ride 5000 miles in 50 days. (Or for those of us unable to make that distance, a combination of miles and money.....because after all, this is actually a fun way for us riders to raise money for the cause and have a good excuse to ride!) You can learn more about him here: http://www.longhaulpaul.com. I am not connected with Paul, but I did see his talk at last years Americade, and found him to be a real rider who is trying to use his abilities to raise money for a good cause.  Anyways, I suggest you contact him for an interview.....he is a great guy, and I am sure he would love to get people involved with his MS5000 ride."
