Have you ever just known something was true but you didn’t know how you knew? Have you ever been inspired to say something or create something but couldn’t explain where that inspiration was coming from? Have you ever had a flash of insight or information about yourself or another person? In today’s episode I talk with my friend Amanda Rieger Green, who also happens to be a psychic medium and a brilliant teacher on astrology and numerology, about how we learn to trust ourselves and our perceptions. Especially when those perceptions fall outside of our typical five senses. According to Amanda, we all have access to senses beyond the five physical senses, and when we can learn to tune into those senses and trust what comes through, we find ourselves more confident and aligned than ever before. Creativity and spirituality meet here — at the place where we begin to listen to the unique way god or love or universe wants to speak through us. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did. Please be sure to find Amanda’s show called Soul Sessions wherever you listen to podcasts. Host: Ally Fallon // @allyfallon // allisonfallon.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Elf Power is an indie rock band from Athens, Georgia, known for its blend of psychedelic, folk, and dreamy rock sounds. They got started in the mid-90s and quickly became part of the “Elephant 6 Collective,” a group of bands like Neutral Milk Hotel and The Apples in Stereo who created unique, experimental music.I had sold a lot of Elf Power's music in the record stores I worked. I had not listened to them in quite some time. I had forgotten how their music is often dreamy and mysterious, full of quirky lyrics and catchy tunes. Seeing them several times now since I began this podcast has opened up a new and more educated listening for me. Their songs explore themes like nature, dreams, and the surreal, and their albums are like journeys into different worlds. With frontman Andrew Rieger's distinct voice and poetic lyrics, Elf Power has a sound that's both gentle and powerful. Being able to talk to Andrew of Elf Power was not only a history lesson beginning with Andrew's recording solo 4 track cassettes, to recording in studios with some of the top producers in the industry. This resulted in their discography capturing a mix of haunting melodies, thought-provoking lyrics, and a musical style that's earthy yet otherworldly. I was so happy to see them live, and I am still rekindling my love of this band. This talk with Andrew was perfect as I listened to some of Andrew's thoughts that creeped into the side of quirky meets surreal. I hope you have a great auditory experience listening to Andrew Rieger.Show AthCastMusic (©): The Music of Athens Georgia, Now and Then.SEASON: 3 Episode 34Length: 39:23PUBLISHED:Updated Weekly on ThursdayEngineer: Kayla DoverIntern: Kati Putman (UGA Music School)Recorded at Tweed Recording Audio Production Schoolhttps://tweedrecording.comCONTACT FOR ATHCASTMUSIC:marlene@athcastmusic.cominstagram: AthCastMusicFaceBook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61550294283019INSTAGRAM: ELFPOWERBANDFACEBOOK: https:/facebook.com/elfpowerWebsite: elfpower.comBAND CAMP: bit.ly/4flHImAOR https://elfpower,bandcamp.com

The Monogram and the Wettest Block: Kansas City's Distilling Heritage In this episode of the Whiskey Ring Podcast, we're heading down to Kansas City, Missouri, to chat with Ryan Maybee, the co-founder of J. Rieger & Company. Ryan takes us on a journey from his early days as a bartender to the exciting revival of the historic J. Rieger brand, which originally flourished from 1887 until Prohibition put a stop to it all. We kick things off by discussing how the focus of Ryan's interviews has shifted over the years—from cocktail culture to the innovative whiskeys now coming out of J. Rieger. He dives into the unique terroir of Kansas City and how it plays a crucial role in their whiskey production, including their straight bourbon, bottled-in-bond bourbon, bottled-in-bond rye, and the fascinating Monogram whiskey, which features sherry—a nod to the blending practices of yesteryear. We also explore the rich whiskey history of Kansas City before Prohibition, the nuances of state laws affecting the spirits industry, and the distinction between Missouri bourbon and Kansas City whiskey. Ryan shares the story of how they navigated the TTB to establish Kansas City whiskey as a recognized category, highlighting their commitment to honoring the brand's roots while pushing the envelope in modern whiskey-making. As we wrap up, Ryan gives us a peek into the production process at J. Rieger, their upcoming 10th anniversary celebration, and what the future holds for the brand. This episode is a captivating exploration of the intersection of history, innovation, and the craft of whiskey-making in Kansas City. So grab a glass, sit back, and enjoy the ride!
