Ryan Huff continues the series on James with chapter 3:1-12.
Ryan Huff starts us off in James Ch. 2 covering verses 1-9. Tune in next week for more on James 2.
Speaker, Ryan Huff concludes James ch.1 with a challenging word. 26 If you claim to be religious but don't control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. 27 Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. James 1:26-27
Guest speaker Ryan Huff brings a word on Encouragement and its place within the church body.
In this episode of Chasing the Insights, I talk to artist, musician and NFT founder Ryan Huff. Ryan talks to us about the Saviour Project and his journey into Web3.0 and NFTs. Ryan Huff, which most people know as RandomH or RandomHorizon, is passionate about all things art and music. He is a Canadian artist and musician, and his love of the arts was discovered at a young age and since then has grown into a deeply rooted passion and form of expression.
Blog link: http://videogamegrooves.com/2022/02/28/episode-92-demons-souls-astro-bot-rescue-mission We have returned, just in the nick of February, with a wildly schizophrenic show that his the boundaries of human emotional response. Ryan Huff from One Run Records joins us again but we're not sure he knew what he was getting into this time... We decided February was a fine time to look back at Demon's Souls from Milan Records, and work our way through the trauma. This game may have launched not one but two genres of media: "souls-like" games and "souls-like" music! Composer Shunsuke Kida gets way out of his regular discography to bring us intense-Latin-choir-ala-Dante-Alighieri, and quiet understated themes of quiet and dark reflection. Some of what we discuss is hearsay (because we're bad at the game) and some of it is grammatical. (No, we do not finally solve the apostrophe thing.) Next, we swing to the far opposite side of the mood spectrum with Astro Bot Rescue Mission from Fangamer. Kenneth CM Young brings forward his experience with completely joyful games like LittleBigPlanet to make even the darkest moments of Astro Bot colorful and adorned with blinky digital eyes. We discuss Sony's relative success of using pack-in games to demonstrate new tech functions in a way that rivals or even surpasses Nintendo. We stop short of singing the praises of Astro's Playroom, which is not yet on vinyl... but we will bide our time. New releases and news bring up the middle section, with a quick solo dash through the newest vinyl your money can buy (links below), and we all reflect on the relative benefits and drawbacks of the now-biannual Record Store Day. Questions have arisen whether it helps or harms independent record store owners. We also observe that it doesn't tend to touch video game releases, and whether that's a good or a bad thing. We also discuss whether it might be better for RSD to take a break for a year, so the world might be mended (So the world might be mended). What do you think? Brandon's advice for Entrepreneurs and Founders: “Stay curious.” & “Have the ability to make decisions.” In my conversation with Brandon, we covered a lot of the early days at Cirrus Insight. We focused on how Brandon and his Co-Founder, Ryan Huff, built the company from 0 to +250,000 users. Some of the topics that we covered are: Getting their first users. Converting them into paying customers. Pricing in the early days Vs Pricing now. Making their first sales hire. The bottom-up sales strategy. Creating your product roadmap based on feedback. Blog link: http://videogamegrooves.com/2021/07/18/video-game-grooves-gaiden-1-gaiden-gits-arise-countach-for-giorgio-welcome-to-brght-falls/ No, you haven't fallen into an interdimensional facsimile of your favorite video-game-music-on-vinyl podcast, this is just the side story. In our first "gaiden" episode, we are joined by Ryan Huff from One Run Records to investigate the video games "adjacent" world of vinyl, and do we have a weird lineup for our inaugural outing. Anthony bring us the soundtrack to Ghost in the Shell: Arise, by Japanese alternative musician Cornelius. We flow with (yet remain pleasantly unsettled by) the surprisingly chill vibe of Arise, and ponder the lyrical technique and philosophical questions posed by the unique tracks. Jeremy then takes us into the mind of Shooter Jennings and Richard Garriott with Countach (for Giorgio), a tribute album dedicated to the prolific (and still kicking) music producer Giorgio Moroder... adjacent to video games by association with Lord British and with a launch party that took place inside Shroud of the Avatar, we take the opportunity to appreciate both the music of Moroder and Jennings doing whatever he darn well pleases. Finally, Ryan takes us on a guided tour of one of the most enigmatic releases we've ever heard of with Welcome to Bright Falls, the soundtrack to the prequel webisodes to the well-loved (but not THAT well-loved) Alan Wake from Remedy Entertainment. In a great example of life imitating art, this inexplicable album seems to have come from nobody nowhere who is willing to shed any light on it... but it's also filled with a variety of little original gems. Even though we head down some bunny-trails in this episode, we still make sure to keep up on the new releases and a couple of non-release tidbits (such as Rockstar Games starting their own music label with vinyl releases) and just have a generally good time. Hang out with us and get weird! Blog link: http://videogamegrooves.com/2021/02/03/episode-76-street-fighter-iii-the-collection The World Fighting Championship returns to your turntable in the form of the underappreciated little brother of the Street Fighter franchise: Street Fighter III. We're joined by Ryan Huff of One Run Records for this one, so you know it's going to be a little offbeat to begin with! In this episode, Anthony takes the helm and steers us through the musically- and canonically-complicated waters of Street Fighter III: The Collection from Laced Records, with stops at New Generation, 2nd Impact, and Third Strike. The evolving music and sound of Hideki Okugawa as the game saw its various iterations from 1997 to 1999 and finally settled on something more evolved and distinctive than the series had dared previously. We discuss the art, the cultural impact, and the mechanical import of this Capcom gem, and help you to appreciate it as only a black-clad beret-wearing teenager traipsing around Germany could! We take care of some housecleaning with the new releases and other announcements of the past couple of weeks. We muse over the thematically-appropriate question of pan-series box sets, such as Laced has done with Street Fighter 3, and we discuss the relative merit of "less-popular" games getting unsuccessful standalone releases versus folding them into a larger set. Ryan Huff - Episode 10I met Ryan through our daughters who play on the same basketball team - The Dream Team! In getting to know Ryan and his wife, I saw them go through a tough scenario as their older daughter was a standout soccer player who unfortunately had multiple concussions that now prevent her from playing contact sports. Instead of feeling sorry for themselves, they found the positive and supported their daughter in new and exciting activities. The competitive drive is in the Huff blood, but what stood out to me is the unconditional love and support they provided their daughter. By doing this, she found the confidence to try something completely new and decided to join the debate team. She is now gaining valuable business skills that will help her tremendously in life. The same drive she possessed in soccer is now allowing her to be successful in a completely different activity. We have to remember that our kid's journey is their own, and not ours. No matter what curveballs life throws at you, it is up to us as parents to love and support them through thick and thin. I hope you enjoy this episode to hear Ryan's advice and personal story. #BestScoreBookGirlEver#TBA#HuffMode You can follow Ryan at Linked In - https://www.linkedin.com/in/ryan-huff-72672752/

Why do I run? Why do I get up so early? Why do I do what I do?We all have "why?" type moments in our lives, but have you ever taken a moment to actually think through the why? Everything that we do has a why attached to it but does that why align with your values and purpose? Sometimes travel takes you to the far ends of the earth. Sometimes it gives you a new perspective on the same places you've already been. And sometimes, dear listener, it returns you, like a turntable, right back to where you began. We're joined this week by One Run Records' Ryan Huff to explore the idea of travel, and we begin by following Paul's lead to the iam8bit release of Monument Valley. We reflect on the music and art of the game as an invitation to slow down and simply experience, and discuss Ustwo Games' intent to make something meant for display. Ryan then takes us on a deep dive into the largely-forgotten past of early Japanese adventure games with Sound Adventure Hokkaidou Rensa Satsujin: Ohotsuku ni Kiyu!! (Try saying that once fast.) This fairly unknown game, one of Yujii Hori's first for game studio Enix, was a reaction to the adventure game genre of the west but also a template for non-parser adventure games (including in the west!) from that point on. We explore the game's eclectic music through the "sound adventure" adaptation that uses a mix of live and digital instruments for a very early "serious" look at video game music on vinyl record. We continue, as we do, with the news and releases, and we dig up a few gems in addition to the widely-known products draining your wallet this month. Plug your ears for every other one to save a little money! Finally, we talk to Ryan about his recent trip to Japan in which he acquired his feature pick for this episode. We discuss the differences between vinyl shopping in Japan and America and Europe, and make plans to visit Asia and spend a ton of discretionary money. Ryan also drops a bit of One Run Records news for us, including the surprise announcement of a Castlevania The Adventure: ReBirth variant exclusive to that label! OOoooooh! In this episode of Spearfactor, I sit down with Robert Paine, the co-owner of the Kimera Spearfishing. He and his brother-in-law have invented the side slip system, a spearfishing tip that replaces the standard flopper giving you the benefits of a slip tip without the issues involved. I spoke to him about the process of starting a company and how the Kimera Sideslip system evolved into what it is currently today. We also discuss the future of the Kimera Sideslip system and where it is headed. Robert shares with me the plans for a Bluewater edition where everything within the system is "beefed up" for maximum strength. As we continue through the podcasts we talk about some modifications and challenges they came across in order to turn the great idea into a tangible product. Robert and I discuss some pros and cons to modern spearfishing equipment, and how the Kimera Sideslip helps to eliminate some of those issues. Checkout the Kimera Sideslip System at https://www.kimeraspearfishing.com The podcast begins discussing the recent spearfishing death of Ryan Huff. Ryan died this month while lobster diving. It is believed that he got entangled in his equipment while diving. We talk about some lessons learned over the years in hopes of preventing this from happening again. Tips to Prevent Tangling or Snags 1. Strap your knife to the inside of your calf, not the outside. 2. If possible minimize the amount of stuff you are carrying. 3. If your dive knife is on your belt, put it on the opposite side that your floatline trails. Did you enjoy this? If so, please share this podcast with your friends! How does it feel when you got no Grooves? Five-one blaze it everyone! It's a new VGG podcast, and we once again got the munchies for video game music on vinyl records! Don't touch that desk calendar, and join us for our latest and dankest episode yet! Paul and Jeremy are joined today by Ryan Huff of One Run Records, who has a brand-new announcement for a really stellar initial release, but is also one of the biggest weird-audio nerds we've ever met. We jaw a bit about what's actually coming from the new label, but then we roll right into today's dank offerings! We begin with a hit of Flyrule: A Terrible Fate, by Shag. This Majora's Mask-themed (yet Link-to-the-Past-skinned) release has us pondering the mood and themes of the game, as well as the flowing yet edgy beat and samples from Shag's sophomore game vinyl. Ryan picks a couple of his favorite tracks from this stylish record and we let the dankness flow. We continue with a bit of a harder sound with Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number from iam8bit. Another second-in-a-series, HLM2 continues the tradition of being excellent and listenable, while going even harder than its predecessor. There's so much good music and art in this release, we may just have to break the "2-per" rule. You'll have to listen to find out! We keep blazing with the new releases and news, highlighting the best bets for you to spend your cash or pass to the lefthand side. A few newsworthy announcements and other highlights of the last couple of weeks will definitely stoke some paranoia in your wallet, but we try to keep it mellow. Finally, we dig into the news that Bandcamp is beginning to roll out a vinyl pressing service for artists on its service. We discuss what the ramifications of this might be and whether it's all good or all great for the video game vinyl market and artists in general. It's a good and legal time (in several states) so why not join us? What would you do if your business suddenly lost its largest distribution platform? Brandon Bruce, COO and co-founder of Cirrus Insight, was thrown a curve when his company’s application was removed from the SalesForce App Exchange, its largest distribution outlet. While this blow might signal the end of most application’s lifecycle, Cirrus Insight’s branding and unique lead generation capabilities kept the app alive and well. What is CRM? Salesforce’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform allows salespeople to track their correspondence with clients, providing them with valuable data about leads, trends and relationship advancement. CRM systems typically require a significant amount of manual data entry, especially in regard to email correspondence. Brandon explains how this additional work required by most CRMs hurts user adoption, ultimately leading to a CRM’s failure. Software Architect and Co-founder Ryan Huff saw an opportunity to develop a Salesforce plugin that automatically maintains record of these communications, while connecting with email and mobile devices without leaving Salesforce. Cirrus Insight Prior to starting Cirrus Path, the parent company of Cirrus Insight, with Ryan Huff, Brandon worked in the advancement department at Maryville College in Tennessee. When Ryan approached Brandon with the idea of Cirrus Insight, Brandon’s background in both sales and CRM systems immediately told him they were onto something. Cirrus Insight lives inside of a browser plugin that automatically transmits data from Google Suite and Office 365’s calendar to the Salesforce ecosystem. Cirrus Insight launched on the Salesforce App Exchange in 2011 with great success, becoming the #1 application ranking on the app exchange for five months in 2012. The massive growth and success of the application even caught the attention of Inc. Magazine, placing them on the Inc. 5000 List three years running, peaking at #41 in 2016. Leaving the App Exchange Despite their high rankings, large userbase and stellar reviews, Cirrus Insight was removed from the Salesforce App Exchange without warning. Brandon shares his thoughts on how companies launching within somebody else’s sandbox should anticipate and prepare for critical situations like this, and how despite losing Cirrus Insights’ biggest distribution platform, it also opened the door to exciting, new opportunities with customers Supporters of Hope One of the greatest satisfactions for Brandon is finding good people with great ideas. Cirrus Path is always looking for the next opportunity, nurturing entrepreneurs primarily in the tech industry, showing them the company’s playbook for success and helping them launch their own businesses. In the tech world where there always seems to be “an app for that” to make life easier, Brandon cautions that this is not always true. Sometimes there’s no replacement for hard work, so you just have to hunker down and do the work, even if it’s manually. To those interested in seeing for themselves what Cirrus Path has to offer, Brandon invites you to be a guest at his weekly company lunch on Fridays if you are in Knoxville, Tenn. Welcome to another episode of the Startup Selling Podcast, in today’s episode we have Brandon Bruce the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at Cirrus Insight. Since founding the company in 2011, Cirrus Insight has been listed in the Inc 5000 ranking for three years in a row… A list of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. Cirrus Insight is an all-in-one sales productivity platform with world-class Salesforce integration. 250,000 people use Cirrus Insight and its sister products Attach.io and Assistant.to to work faster and smarter from the inbox and calendar. It allows you to Track emails, schedule meetings, set follow-ups and more, right from your inbox... In my conversation with Brandon, we covered a lot of the early days at Cirrus Insight. We focused on how Brandon and his Co-Founder, Ryan Huff, built the company from 0 to +250,000 users… Some of the topics that we covered are: Getting their first users. Converting them into paying customers. Pricing in the early days Vs Pricing now. Making their first sales hire. The bottom up sales strategy. Creating your product roadmap based on feedback. Using partners to sell your product. Brandon grew up in Los Olivos, a small California town of 800 people and had only one classmate in grade school. He loves endurance sports and raced his bicycle 508 miles across Death Valley in 2002 as part of the Furnace Creek 508 (https://www.the508.net/). He finished in 35 hours and 7 minutes. He also enjoys hiking, camping, and building with Legos. Brandon lives in Knoxville, Tennessee with his wife, Tricia, and their two children, Sonoma and Carson. Brandon’s advice for Entrepreneurs and Founders: “Stay curious.” & “Have the ability to make decisions.” Where to find Brandon on the Interwebs: LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/brandonbruce/ Cirrus Insight - https://www.cirrusinsight.com/

Ryan Huff is CEO of Cirruspath which provides a way of more seamlessly integrating with CRM systems. When asked what the trend is with enterprise apps, he said it was all about usability and you can’t expect to get it right in the first release. I speak with many enterprises who are interested in app development and many of them are just becoming aware of what it takes to develop a good mobile app. Keep in mind that a poor mobile app is likely not to be used and might not have much of an impact on an organization. Ryan says that organizations can’t expect to get it right on the first try or even [...]
