Remedy Entertainment have built a sort of extended universe by this point, but 2019's Control is both the piece that introduced a lot of people to their world and the key that unlocked the possibility for an extended universe in the first place. Control's Men in Black-meets-SCP Foundation setting is ripe for creative sci-fi storytelling and Remedy took full advantage of that. Despite some hiccups in the story and gameplay that may wear out its welcome, Control is an undeniably cool game. On this week's episode,Remedy Entertainment tells us how many copies of their upcoming game they need to sell before a game is profitable,CD Projekt Red gives a few updates on The Witcher 4 and other titles,Naughty Dog's latest game title that was released may not be true and we get an alleged announcement window for the Nintendo Switch 2.
In today's Daily Fix: Xbox Game Pass Wave 2 for November has been announced, and there are some real bangers in this lineup. First up is the latest Flight Simulator game, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which is available now. Next is the long-awaited S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl which arrives tomorrow, November 20th. Little Kitty, Big City hits the service the same day, and the following week sees Nine Sols and Aliens: Dark Descent. In other news, Sony is reportedly in talks with Japanese media company Kadokawa to add it to Sony's stable of subsidiaries. Kadokawa is known for publishing manga and anime, and also has several game studios under their umbrella, including Elden Ring developer FromSoftware. And finally, in a rare move win for business transparency, Remedy Entertainment has revealed how many copies of their upcoming games they need to sell to break even. The multiplayer-centric FBC: Firebreak needs to sell 3 million copies, and Control 2 needs 3-4 million. It's worth noting that the budgets for these are relatively modest compared to other AAA games (ahem, Marvel's Spider-Man 2): the combined budgets are around $84 million.

In a world where IP is a plenty, we seem to be getting more of the same? Or is it the opposite? Depends on who you ask...Anyway, we've got more time with Star Wars Outlaws, and despite what the internet says, its not bad. Capcom is facing a crisis, buts its not a dino crisis... Eon is looking for the next director for 007, Burton shys away from Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beettlejuice, Ian McKellan is in for a 3rd time as Gandalf! Plus go watch The Fall Guy!
In its pacing and structure, Alan Wake is similar to a thriller television series, with episodes that contain plot twists and cliffhangers. The game consists of six episodes, and the storyline continues in two special episodes, The Signal and The Writer, that were made available as downloadable content (DLC) in the year of the game's release. Additionally, a six-episode live-action web series called Bright Falls acts as a prequel to the game, and a number of related books also expand upon the Alan Wake story.

You read that correctly, the state of the gaming world is unreal, as in Unreal Engine. As the GDC is fully underway, there was still a lot of news to get through. From Epic games having their state of Unreal, to Saber Interactive breaking free from Embracers embrace, to the failure of the PSVR 2, and Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection taking a nosedive. Also Popeye, The Cat in the Hat, and The Never Ending Story are all making some kind of comeback, The Acolyte gets its first trailer, and Dune Pt. 2 continues to sizzle as the box office. That and a whole lot more.

THIS IS A PREVIEW. FOR THE FULL EPISODE, GO TO Patreon.com/worstofall My name is Alan Wake. I'm a writer. Two years ago, three “critics” from The Worst of All Possible Worlds podcast decided to slander my good name and drag my first game through the mud. Now, they've Returned from their previous Departure and have fully Initiated themselves into my torment anew. Will they dub me the Champion of Light? Or cast me off as the Herald of Darkness? Only one thing's for sure: Stephen King once wrote “Nobody better lay a finger on my Butterfinger.” He said this before snorting three lines of cocaine and trying to fight a bus. He would later go on to marry that bus in a private ceremony in Maine. This marriage was quickly annulled when everyone involved realized you cannot marry a bus. I married Alice, a human woman. I know this because I know the difference between a woman and a bus. That's why I famously wrote the line: “It's not a woman, it's a bus.” Want more TWOAPW? I wanted to give an Alan Wake 2 review roundup, but I found a strange trend. If you are looking for an Alan Wake 2 Xbox review you might struggle to find more than a few. Is this related to Alan Wake 2 Xbox Series S performance or something else entirely? The way the publisher distributed the review codes is extremely interesting. Why would Alan Wake 2 PS5 review codes be given priority and timing over the Xbox? I think there are three huge reasons why this is happening, and it is a disservice to Xbox console owners. Alan Wake II is a survival horror game developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Epic Games Publishing. Story of Alan Wake. Alan Wake went missing in 2010. He was a bestselling writer based in New York City. On a vacation in the Pacific Northwest with his wife, Alice Wake, he came face to face with a force of supernatural darkness. It brought Wake's writing, a horror story, to life. Alan Wake II is already set to be one of the top games of the year. With layered horror storytelling and a mixed-medium approach to game design, this sequel to 2010's Alan Wake carries on the legacy of one of gaming's biggest horror-mystery icons. Developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Epic Games, we got the chance to talk with Creative Director Sam Lake and Game Director Kyle Rowley about Remedy's first survival horror game and revisiting an IP 13 years later. Additionally, we discuss Saga's importance and the uniqueness of bringing in another protagonist hero alongside your titular character and making her just as important.
