Timothy Williams is a multi-award-winning composer who has written music for some of the most iconic movie scenes in history, including the sunken place in Get Out!, the barn door opening in Pearl and the death of Leonidas in 300. Tim has had a passion for film scores since he was a child. He fell in love with bringing stories to life with music always looking to find the perfect marriage of music for the story and visuals. Timothy began as a classical concert pianist, but quickly found himself spending more time playing in bands and composing music than practicing. A move to LA in the early 2000s started this 20 year journey of having the opportunities to create music for some of the most iconic movies.  Early work included writing additional music, orchestrating and conducting films like 300, Watchmen, Super, Sucker Punch, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, (Fast and Furious presents) Hobbs and Shaw, Deadpool 2 and Get Out! This breath of work lead to working as a composer with Robert Duvall on Wild Horses, John Moore on I.T., starring Pierce Brosnan, James Gunn and Dave Yarovesky on Brightburn, Tom Hanks on the documentary Beyond All Boundaries, Mario Van Peebles on Red Sky and Marc Meyers on We Summon The Darkness. Tim recently co-scored the iconic Ti West's A24 film Pearl which won numerous international awards as best horror score.  Upcoming releases include Mary for Netflix, directed by D. J. Caruso, starring Anthony Hopkins, Locked, starring Bill Skarsgård and Anthony Hopkins, produced by Sam Raimi and directed by Dave Yarovesky, and Eye for An Eye for Leyline Entertainment (Everything Everywhere All At Once), starring Golda Rosheuvel (Bridgerton) and directed by Colin Tilley. Other recent work includes Your Monster, the Sundance Audience Award Winner, directed by Caroline Lindy and starring Melissa Barrera, Lionsgate's The Bagman, starring Sam Claflin, Lionsgate/Roadside Attractions' Finding You and Mistura for Seine Pictures, directed by Ricardo De Montreuil, which recently won best picture at The NBFF. Television work includes Netflix/Sony Animation's Agent Elvis, AMC/Shudder's Creepshow, Disney's Piney, the Fox pilot Richard Lovely, and additional music on CBS' Tracker, Fox's The Exorcist (S2), ABC's Missing and Cartoon Network's Sym Bionic Titan.  Tim's music has been released on multiple soundtracks from Milan Records, Lakeshore Records, Sony Records, A24, EMI, Lionsgate Records and MovieScoreMedia.  Tim holds British, Canadian and US Citizenship and is represented by Dan North at First Artists Management. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/steven-cuoco/support

This week, we're catching up with one of the Oscar-shortlisted Best Score nominees -- Anthony Willis' score to Emerald Fennell's lavish, mysterious thriller Saltburn. Fennell's second directorial feature, after Promising Young Woman, is a kind of Brideshead Revisited by way of Tom Ripley and mid-2000s party culture: A mysterious young bloke named Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) follows his irrepressible attraction to fellow Oxford pretty-boy Felix (Jacob Elordi) all the way to Felix's palatial mansion, Saltburn. There, he immerses himself in the hedonistic lifestyles of the ultra-rich, all the while hoping to catch a glimmer of Felix's attention -- or does he?   Reuniting with Fennell for his second score with her, composer Anthony Willis crafts a suitably Gothic sound for her idiosyncratic class thriller. Opening with romantic strings, transitioning into classical choir, then electric pianos and additional layers and textures, Willis draws the listener in like one of Oliver's obsessions, before disrupting the film's jagged classicism with rough modern electronic textures and a sense of sweeping orchestral doom.   Today, we talk to Willis about all of that and more, including his longtime collaboration with Fennell and his early life as a chorister at Windsor Castle.   You can find Anthony Willis at his official website.   Saltburn is currently available for rental or streaming on Prime Video. You can also listen to the score on your preferred music streaming service courtesy of Milan Records.

This week, I'm thrilled to talk to English musician and nascent film score composer Jerskin Fendrix about his score to the wacky, surreal, oddly poignant new film from Yorgos Lanthimos: Poor Things. Starring Emma Stone as Bella Baxter, the creation of Frankenstein-ian scientist Godwin Baxter (played by Willem Dafoe), the film delves into her ongoing quest to explore her humanity, sexuality, and the absurd social structures of a world careening into modernity.   Lanthimos' films always push the boundaries between the vulgar and sublime, and this one's no different -- a Victorian-era fantasia complete with bright, presentational production design and wild costuming that fits the strangeness of Bella's world. And this strangeness bears out in Fendrix's score, his first after spending years in the London DIY pop scene. The score is punctuated by minimal voices, spare instruments, dissonant, bended notes that seem to lumber awkwardly like Bella taking her first furtive steps out into the world.   Fendrix speaks with me about stepping into Yorgos' world, giving voice to a creature that evolves over the course of the score, and what it's like for such an autobiographical artist to surrender himself to a more collaborative medium like film.   You can find Jerskin Fendrix's work on his official Bandcamp page.   Poor Things is currently playing in theaters. You can also listen to the score on your preferred music streaming service courtesy of Milan Records.

Much like the zombies that infest its world, the Walking Dead franchise simply refuses to die. With Dead City, the shambling hordes make their way to the island of Manhattan, an urban hellscape now infested with the remnants of a dead civilization. And in the middle, two of the original Walking Dead's main characters, Maggie (Lauren Cohen) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), on a rescue mission that'll test their fractious relationship with each other.   While Bear McCreary's more mournful, orchestral sound personified the original series, composer Ian Hultquist sought a newer, more electronic sound, one more reminiscent of John Carpenter's work on Escape from New York (another thriller about characters trying to survive in a walled-off Manhattan). In addition to those ominous synths, Hultquist also made use of a suite of organic sounds of unique provenance, including recruiting friends to travel to the Maine wilderness to collect all manner of sounds.   Together, we talk about that sense of sonic experimentation, how Hultquist wanted to move the franchise's sound forward, and the importance of building a sonic palette to work from when composing electronic scores.   You can find Ian Hultquist at his official website.   The Walking Dead: Dead City is currently airing on AMC and AMC+. Veteran composer Jongnic "JB" Bontemps took a long and winding road to film scoring. Despite showing an early passion for scoring (and studying music at Yale), he didn't immediately enter that world. Instead, he sought a tech career, becoming a software developer and entrepreneur. But music came calling again, and JB found himself studying film scoring and building a career as one of the industry's top composers.   After years of building his bona fides working under various A-list composers and scoring video games like Redfall and shows like Godfather of Harlem, he's found himself with his highest-profile work yet: Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Building off his childhood love for the robots in disguise and the groundwork that composer Steve Jablonsky had laid for him in the Michael Bay films before that, JB worked with Rise of the Beasts director (and longtime collaborator) Steven Caple Jr. to assemble a suitably robust, muscular, and era-appropriate score for the '90s-set throwback blockbusters.   Together, JB and I talk about all of this -- his winding path to film composing, the value of building a team and working with valued collaborators, and using music to mark Rise of the Beasts' distinct globe-trotting adventure and '90s aesthetics.   You can find Jongnic Bontemps at his official website.   Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is currently playing in theaters, and you can listen to the score on your preferred platform courtesy of Milan Records.

Today, we're talking about the latest film from director Brandon Cronenberg, Infinity Pool, another in a series of cinematic provocations from the son of acclaimed body-horror maestro David Cronenberg. While his works travel along similar roads -- the alienation of the self from the human body, how class intersects with violence -- the younger Cronenberg twists the visceral knife even further in parts, trafficking further in extremity and seeing how that further warps his film's reflections of humanity.   In Infinity Pool, that takes the form of a blood-soaked bacchanal on a mysterious island nation frequented by rich tourists, who can afford to literally get away with murder (by having a clone made of themselves to be executed in their stead). With the threat of consequence no longer looming over them, the characters of Infinity Pool sink into a (sometimes literal) orgy of depravity, as disorienting as it is compelling to watch.   Aiding in that dizzying psychedelia is the score by acclaimed experimental musician and producer Tim Hecker, who crafts a suitably disorienting, doomed sound constructed from crunchy samples and unexpected analog elements. He's a deeply thoughtful musician and theorist, as you'll hear, as we talk about building a "music ecology" for Infinity Pool's constructed setting, exploring the limits of the film's sonic nihilism, and more.   You can find Tim Hecker at his official website here.   Infinity Pool is currently playing in theaters. Welcome to Right on Cue, the podcast where we interview film, TV, and video game composers about the origins and nuances of their latest works.   It's hard to think of a more overt lens through which to satirize the divisions of class more than through food: Fast food vs. haute cuisine, Michelin stars over star-shaped chicken nuggets. Mark Mylod's The Menu is a sizzling satire of the snootiness of fine dining, and the class conflicts it unfurls.   Set on a remote island that's home to one of the most exclusive restaurants in the world, The Menu treats us to a multi-course prix fixe of mayhem centered around high-profile chef Julian Slowik (a beautifully ostentatious Ralph Fiennes). But as the eclectic group of well-off diners sample one conceptually-minded meal after another, it becomes clear there's more than meets the eye for Chef Slowick's menu.   Accompanying each course of the menu Mylod, his cast, and screenwriters Seth Reiss and Will Tracy have set out for us is a cheekily propulsive score courtesy of Hereditary composer Colin Stetson. He lays out ornate soundscapes and unusual instruments (glasses played with chopsticks, pans as percussion) with the same perverse mirth as Fiennes' devilish chef, granting each course, and each sick joke on Chef Slowik's guests, a unique voice. And all throughout lays an arch counterpoint to the kind of chamber-music regalness we aesthetically associate with fine dining.   It's a pleasure to welcome Colin Stetson to the podcast to talk about all these ideas and more.   You can find Colin Stetson at his official website here.   The Menu is currently playing in theaters. I interview Tim Williams, composer of the soundtrack for the movie Pearl. (Oct 11, 2022) Here's the press release from his publicist: (September 15, 2022 – Los Angeles, CA) – Today, A24 Music released the single “Pearl Main Titles” from the Pearl Original Motion Picture Soundtrack with music by Tyler Bates & Timothy Williams, listen here. The full 19-track album will be available September 23 on major digital platforms. With only six weeks to assemble a 68-person orchestra, Bates brought in frequent collaborator Timothy Williams, who worked with the composer on Guardians of the Galaxy, to help him audition musicians, build the orchestra, rehearse over four days in Nashville, and record the score. “In the style of mid-century melodramas,” says West, “Tyler Bates fashioned a sweeping, shrieking, strings-based score that lets the viewer know from the opening credits that Pearl will not be a subdued or quiet film. I said to him, ‘let's do a romantic, melodramatic, old-school score for this movie.'” He continues, “This wasn't the first time I've used live instruments on a movie—but it was the first time I had a full orchestra. It was awesome. Tyler and Tim really hit it out of the park. The score is very much one of the film's central characters, and that was important." “Ti expressed the musical approach to this film with us before filming,” says Bates & Williams. “We knew that the music would be based in an "Old Hollywood" approach, which stylistically is something we both love to do. This was a rare opportunity to write a lyrical score where the main theme permeates the music throughout the myriad emotional and psychological dynamics from beginning to end.” ABOUT TIM Timothy Williams is a multi-award-winning composer best known for his work on Pearl, Finding You, Brightburn, and Get Out! Williams' films includes A24's Pearl, co-scored with Tyler Bates, Gravitas' The Swearing Jar, Roadside Attractions' Finding You, Screen Gems' Brightburn, directed by David Yarovesky, We Summon The Darkness, directed by Marc Meyers, which won best score award at ScreamfestLA; Wild Horses, directed by Robert Duvall; I.T., directed by John Moore, and Red Sky, for which Tim Williams was nominated Best Composer by Motion Picture Sound Editors and best score at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. Williams has written additional music for the Academy Award® and Golden Globe® winner Get Out!, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, Hobbs and Shaw, Deadpool 2, 300, Watchmen, Super, Sucker Punch, and The Spy Who Dumped Me. Television work includes co-scoring AMC/Shudder Creepshow with Tyler Bates, Disney Junior's Piney, the Fox pilot Richard Lovely, and additional music on Fox's The Exorcist (S2), ABC's Missing and Comedy Network's Sym-Bionic Titan. A graduate of the National Film and Television School, Williams has received two Motion Picture SE Golden Reel Award nominations (Red Sky), four Thea Award wins, 10 ASCAP Plus Awards and won best score at the 24FPS Festival (Butterfly Circus), best score at ScreamfestLA 2019 (We Summon The Darkness) and best soundtrack nomination at the HMMA Awards (Red Sky). Over the years he has worked extensively, live and in studio, with a wide range of bands and musicians including Tom Waits, Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, TV On The Radio, Feist, Laurie Anderson, Lou Reed, Bill Laswell, Evan Parker, The Chemical Brothers, Animal Collective, Hamid Drake, LCD Soundsystem, The National, Angelique Kidjo, Fink, and David Gilmore. Meanwhile he has developed an utterly unique voice as a soloist, principally on saxophones and clarinets, his intense technical prowess matched by his exhilarating and emotionally gripping skills as a songwriter. Stetson's astounding physical engagement with his instruments (chiefly bass and alto saxophones) produces emotionally rich and polyphonic compositions that transcend expectations of what solo horn playing can sound like. Stemming from that approach and aesthetic, he has been contributing regularly to the world of film, TV, and game scoring over the past decade with such titles as Hereditary (2018), The First (2018), Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018), Color Out of Space (2019), Barkskins (2020), Mayday (2021), Among The Stars (2021), Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022), The Menu (2022), and Uzumaki (2023). With our last show before diving into the spring season, it's only fitting that we have a giant slate of spring season dub casts to run down for this show - hence the surprised Anya face to serve as Andrew's exhaustion over cobbling together all of that information. And along with that, we have a wide discussion over Netflix's very bad week, some movie talk over what and what not to go see, pondering how deep that mysterious Blu-ray master vault really goes, and trying to find a way to end this show on a high note. There's enough horribleness going on in the world as it is, anyway. Stay tuned for next time, as well, where we finally go in on the spring season and probably spend a lot of time gushing over SPY x FAMILY. Which you all should be watching. Blog link: http://videogamegrooves.com/2022/02/28/episode-92-demons-souls-astro-bot-rescue-mission We have returned, just in the nick of February, with a wildly schizophrenic show that his the boundaries of human emotional response. Ryan Huff from One Run Records joins us again but we're not sure he knew what he was getting into this time... We decided February was a fine time to look back at Demon's Souls from Milan Records, and work our way through the trauma. This game may have launched not one but two genres of media: "souls-like" games and "souls-like" music! Composer Shunsuke Kida gets way out of his regular discography to bring us intense-Latin-choir-ala-Dante-Alighieri, and quiet understated themes of quiet and dark reflection. Some of what we discuss is hearsay (because we're bad at the game) and some of it is grammatical. (No, we do not finally solve the apostrophe thing.) Next, we swing to the far opposite side of the mood spectrum with Astro Bot Rescue Mission from Fangamer. Kenneth CM Young brings forward his experience with completely joyful games like LittleBigPlanet to make even the darkest moments of Astro Bot colorful and adorned with blinky digital eyes. We discuss Sony's relative success of using pack-in games to demonstrate new tech functions in a way that rivals or even surpasses Nintendo. We stop short of singing the praises of Astro's Playroom, which is not yet on vinyl... but we will bide our time. New releases and news bring up the middle section, with a quick solo dash through the newest vinyl your money can buy (links below), and we all reflect on the relative benefits and drawbacks of the now-biannual Record Store Day. Questions have arisen whether it helps or harms independent record store owners. We also observe that it doesn't tend to touch video game releases, and whether that's a good or a bad thing. We also discuss whether it might be better for RSD to take a break for a year, so the world might be mended (So the world might be mended). What do you think? Refugee narratives are a common one in documentary, but Jonas Poher Rasmussen's Flee is something unique. Telling the story of one of Jonas' childhood friends, a gay Afghan refugee named Amin, Flee charts its subject's childhood in Afghanistan, the circumstances by which he had to leave. Fleeing to Denmark without the rest of his family, he was left all alone to figure himself out -- not just his sexuality, but his identity as well. Told in striking, minimalist animation, both depicting interview segments with Amin and dramatized tales of his past, Flee feels like a hazy recollection of a traumatic history, both of the Middle East and its protagonist. But for all its applicability to real-world politics, its scope remains deeply personal -- how seismic global events rippled throughout Amin's life, and looking wistfully at how they made him the man he is today.   Equally evocative as the animation is the score, courtesy of prolific Swedish composer and multi-instrumentalist Uno Helmersson. Experimental and unobtrusive, yet completely in line with its subject's interiority, Uno's dense, layered cues float around the film's periphery to lend voice to things Amin leaves unsaid -- about himself, about his love life, and so much more.   And now, Helmersson joins us in the studio to talk about Flee and his lifetime of work in film and television music.   You can find Uno Helmersson at his official website here.   Flee is currently available in theaters. You can also listen to the score for Flee on your preferred music streaming service courtesy of Milan Records.

Throw a rock at an LA-based thriller, and you can hit any number of stylistic signposts: neon lights, fancy cars, pumping dance clubs, androgynous threats in the night. But in Netflix's Night Teeth, the LA thriller gets some fresh blood - literally! - in the form of a sprightly, energetic vampire flick that still beats with the oddly warm heart of a John Hughes film.   Night Teeth follows a young college student (Jorge Lengeborg Jr.) suddenly saddled with the responsibility of chauffeuring around two young women (Lucy Fry and Debby Ryan) for a night of debauchery. But naturally, it turns out they're vampires, and he's caught in the middle of a coup amongst the city's blood-sucking factions.   To keep up with director Adam Randall's pulse-pounding style, Night Teeth makes great use of electronic, synth, and hip-hop music, anchored by an endearingly droning score from composer partners Drum & Lace and Ian Hultquist. Together, the pair have scored works like Apple TV+'s Dickinson and NBC's Good Girls. Now, they bring their significant experience with textured, layered synths and hypnotic beats to Night Teeth's neon-soaked menagerie of mayhem.   Together, the composers sat down to talk to me about their long road to getting the gig at Night Teeth, the complicated process of working around temp tracks, and treating their score like a mixtape for the characters' wild, supernatural night in LA.   You can find Drum & Lace and Ian Hultquist at their official websites.   Night Teeth is currently streaming on Netflix. You can also listen to the score on your preferred music streaming service courtesy of Milan Records.

David Lowery's The Green Knight is a brilliant, mesmerizing take on the 14th-century Welsh poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, starring Dev Patel as a flawed, headstrong variant on the archetypal Knight of the Round Table. It's steeped in the ancient Arthurian traditions of chivalric romance, but muddied and tarred with the grit, fatalism, and pagan supernaturalism of the time in which it was created. It's a perfect assignment for Lowery, whose films, while diverse, are deeply thoughtful and steeped in an acute sense of the past. In both look and sound, The Green Knight straddles the line between the kind of brittle, supernatural dramas around which A24 has practically built their brand. (Also, considering its long delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the subsequent re-edits Lowery sent the film through in the interim, it also feels like the kind of film that was refined until it exactly matched the director's vision.) Part and parcel of that approach is Lowery's involvement of regular collaborator Daniel Hart, who brought him into the world of composition with his early shorts and his debut feature Ain't Them Bodies Saints. Since then, he's worked on numerous TV shows including The Exorcist and The Society, and composed music for This American Life and the podcast S Town. (And, of course, all of Lowery's films to date, including his mesmerizing score for The Green Knight.) His work here matches the curious, mournful approach Lowery takes to the material, mixing ancient rhyme with moody, groaning instrumentation to convey a world in which civilization clashes against the supernatural. It's as expansive in scope as it is intimately connected to Gawain's personal journey as a knight and hero. Hart talks to us on the podcast about the long, sometimes arduous process of developing the score for The Green Knight, the medieval delicacy of its instrumentation, and the "Apprehension Engine" he borrowed to make it. You can visit Daniel Hart's official website here. The Green Knight's official soundtrack is out July 30th courtesy of Milan Records. You can listen to it on Spotify or your music streaming service of choice.

Here are some hard realities of life that we all need to accept: Tom Brady is an eldritch god living among the humans, Hunter x Hunter and Berserk both have the same billion-to-one odds of ever coming back full-time, and nothing that any other studio makes could match the avant-garde glory that is Katsuhiro Otomo’s 1995 anthology film MEMORIES. Try as they might, very little can even stand in its league, and we caught the Discotek Media global dub premiere of the film and had some high praise all around for it. Definitely more praise than a more recent film that may be the reason why Hayao Miyazaki will never stay retired – another hard truth for all of us to accept. And we also spend a rather sizable amount of time going over some fresh dub casts for some excellent shows of the winter season (and Hidden Dungeon, also), a small batch of Netflix projects to go over and also dissect one such project’s very questionable name and marketing, and even dive deep into why we can’t find the second Eureka Seven: Hi-Evolution film *anywhere.* Sadly, there is no Metallica in this program. We’re in the deep of summer now, that’s for sure. The days are getting hotter, the storms are coming in quicker than you can predict, and the seasonal anime offerings are starting to heat up a little bit more – just wait for fall, it’s gonna get even nuttier. You know, because of the whole scheduling delays and postponements and stuff. But even though this season feels a lot slimmer than usual, there is still plenty to talk about from both the good and bad, and even a bit of the ugly as well. And to go along with our seasonal discussion, we have the expected rigmarole of the never-ending streaming wars heating up, a first-ever from GKIDS with a certain film coming very soon, some interesting music and dub news, and a few more-in-depth talks sprinkled in as well. New season, new shows, same ol’ snark. CARL THIEL is an award winning composer and producer who splits time between Los Angeles and Austin, Texas. Born into a European family and raised in Mexico City, he was exposed to a rich and wide variety of cultural experiences and musical styles from a very early age. At age 6, he began taking classical piano lessons under the tutelage of Carlos Alcaráz -from the National Conservatory of Music- and within a couple of years, he was already improvising and composing his own music. Just a few of Carl Thiel's recent projects include: "From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series”, “The Teller and the Truth”, Rooster Teeth's sci-fi comedy "Lazer Team 2", and "Diving Deep: The Life and Times of Mike deGruy". He recently completed the score to "Seis Manos", an exciting new Netflix original Animé series, produced by the same team that brought you "Castlevania".SEIS MANOS is an American adult animated web television series created by Brad Graeber and Álvaro Rodríguez. The story is set in the fictional town of San Simon in 1970 Mexico, where three orphaned martial arts warriors join forces with a DEA agent and Mexican Federale to avenge the death of their beloved mentor. The series debuted on NETFLIX on October 3, 2019.In this episode, Carl Thiel shares what techniques and instruments he used to musically blend Chinese and Mexican cultures together in his original score. He also dives into several key character themes and action sequences and details a number of the unique instruments he employs to help create, what he calls, a "melting pot" of a score. He scored the The Great Human Odyssey, a mini-series that explores the roots of human kind for which he received a nomination in the Best Documentary Score from the International Film Critics Association. ¡Disfrutadlo! Episode 20. To paraphrase "Fast Eddie" Felson at the climax of The Colour of Money....."We're BACK!" And we're now The Damn Fine Cast! (DFC) Still the same old faces/voices though, dear listener...TG and SJ cutting up a storm of wax for you, mostly soundtrack or related but with the odd "just 'cus we say so" non-OST recommendation. This time out, TG gets into some serious game scores on vinyl courtesy of DATA DISCS and INVADA, as well as the new POWER GLOVE EP, and SJ gets super wistful and weird with MUSTANG and LA PRISONNIERE, as well as bringing it hardcore 80s style with his Apache-Jump On It cut. We're joined by the top cool JC from MILAN RECORDS - one of the most long-running and prolific soundtrack labels from the 70s to the present day. We delve into the history of the label, JCs favourite scores and we get a peak at what's coming next including a DFC EXCLUSIVE on upcoming releases via Milan's Nicolas Winding Refn Presents imprint! (Trust us...you need to get excited NOW!) Apologies for the distortion during the first few minutes of the JC interview. The Doorpost Podcast Project // Inspiring interviews with some of today's most successful Entrepreneurs

Bryan E. Miller is a creative film composer whose goal is to help maximize the emotional impact of visual media by creating powerful, evocative film scores. Bryan studied at the Grove School of Music, and UCLA Extensions Film scoring program. Early in his career Bryan honed his craft by assisting composer Mark Waters on more than 50 episodes for Disney and orchestrated and conducted for composer Mychael Danna who has since won an Academy Award. Bryan has composed and produced music for hundreds of projects including movies, television, commercials, documentaries, and DVD featurettes. His clients include Walt Disney, 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate, NBC Universal, CBS, ABC, A&E and The Style Network. You've probably heard his compositions in American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Boston Legal, The Big Bang Theory, Next Top Model, The Shield, General Hospital, Southland, and Access Hollywood, or listened to his signature music for the Comcast Logo. It was based on his versatility in multiple musical genres and his passion for interesting and creative challenges that Bryan was chosen to compose the score for the new feature film by New York Times best-selling author-turned-filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza - America: Imagine the World without Her. Produced by Academy Award-winner Gerald Molen (Schindler's List, Jurassic Park), America was a hit in the box office, becoming the sixth highest grossing political documentary in history. Bryan has signed with Milan Records, which released the America soundtrack album. Though primarily a composer of dramatic and narrative films, Miller loves the documentary genre, and frequently takes time to compose music for charities and humanitarian organizations like St. Jude Children's Hospital, World Vision, Best Friends Animal Rescue, and The Museum of Tolerance. Bryan's view: “It's a wonderful feeling when you can be part of a passionate team that wants to bring positive change to the world.” Bryan E. Miller is a rising star in Hollywood who is refreshingly un-Hollywood. Originally from Albuquerque, NM, Bryan now lives in Los Angeles with his wife and 3 children. Bryan is equal parts pragmatist and idealist. He gets the job done in an efficient and ego-free way, all the while striving to create music that “stirs the soul” and “connects us to something bigger than ourselves.”
