SPECIAL GUEST Mahgdalen Rose Political Correspondent Vivek isn't any better than Nikki w/ foreign entanglement.  He isn't a phenomenon.  His voters are Trump supporters. DeSantis didn't jump in either which is strange. A division of people that should be great debaters and they just aren't even trying to take him down. Ted Cruz laughed off Donald Trump in the beginning and he actually went on to be president and Cruz didn't. It may also be that Trump made a deal w/ Vivek. Ronna McDaniels - says the RNC doesn't create marketing campaigns and isn't a marketing arm, if they don't do that then what do they do? Where is Matt Gaetz? He was helpful to Trump, but now it is clear that Matt wasn't ready for the Chair fight. He is staying under the radar now b/c of this. Why did McCarthy resign? He thinks of being in high esteem of people, like he is the big guy and he can't cope w/ the torture of falling from grace. He could raise money - he was a money maker. He went from King Maker to nothing and that is a dramatic fall for him. He doesn't want to be in that group of non-elites anymore.  AUDIO/VIDEO: Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene on NDAA - Speaker Johnson worked w/ Chuck Schumer to cut a deal that removes all abortion and trans surgery prohibitions we passed under Speaker McCarthy. It also would pass a CLEAN FISA extension. The $300 million for Ukraine is also back in it. I'm voting a strong no on this. I can't belive this is passing w/ a Republican lead Congress.  We are all pretending Mitch McConnell is fine, he is supposed to be dealing w/ this and we all know he isn't capable of handling his duties anymore. Mike Johnson is walking around doing what he can but he is getting no direction. We should have removed McConnell the first time he had the zoning out issue. Mitch McConnell is holding back the Republican party is b/c he is incapacitated and there is simply no direction coming from the Senate at this point. The young Christians and Conservatives are all feeling this is the end of the Empire. Revolutions turn out nasty and the good guys never really win. But I think this is revolutionary times. I think the small successes we see in the states is important.  DeSantis should take his ball and go home and be the bad ass President of Florida. Young Conservative movement is being run by social media influencers that are only in it for the money. Turning Point USA - they have like $15 million dollars they can spend a year and they put on a few concerts. Can you imagine what you could actually do w/ all that put into backing good candidates and messaging?  But we don't do that and that is our downfall. We are not in a declared war tell Boeing they have to make something productive not destructive anymore. IDB - Industrial Defense Business Remember when Mitch McConnell dropped the Industrial Base benefits off of killing people in other countries? I'm a simple man that just happens to have a microphone…these are simple questions. We have an elite ruling class that will not answer them. The only thing they seem to understand is the raw exertion of power and that is terrible. George Washington in his farewell address -

When traumatic historical markers are conjured for comparison with current events, and all for political reasons, there is a serious threat emerging. Celebrities and establishment drones on mainstream news are calling for violence if Democrats do not win big in mid-term elections, some even going further by threatening a Civil War. This was codified by MSNBC when they compared Joe Biden's divisive hate-filled speech to Abraham Lincoln before the American Civil War. The only problem with this term, however, is that the ‘war' was really not ‘civil', i.e., citizens engaged in conflict against each other. What we call the Civil War was actually a “Civil Insurrection” propagated by Confederates, Secessionists, Nullifiers, and pro-slavery elements against the Federal Government. Now that the same ideological zealots have power today they are invoking the past to justify their excesses, explicitly telling the entire country that if you do not agree with their views then you are an extremist and desire to overthrow representative government. This is the ‘unconstrained vision' of Thomas Sowell: liberals are always good and if you disagree then you are a very bad person who must be dealt with.

One's mokuhanga journey takes many twists and turns. One can begin that journey at any age, at any time. For Andrew Stone that journey began at the age of 40, where in the last  fifteen years or so, Andrew has done a deep dive into the nuances of the art form, from technique, to tools. His exploration into what makes mokuhanga, mokuhanga, is fascinating and important.  On this episode of The Unfinished Print, I speak with mokuhanga printmaker and baren maker Andrew Stone. We speak about his Florence Baren Project, his own mokuhanga, his life in Italy, his meeting with baren maker Hidehiko Gotō. We discuss his philosophies on mokuhanga and baren making, what it takes to make such a beautiful tool like the baren, and how they function and work.   Please follow The Unfinished Print and my own mokuhanga work on Instagram @andrezadoroznyprints Twitter @unfinishedprint, or email me at theunfinishedprint@gmail.com Notes: may contain a hyperlink. By using watercolours on washi, Kunio creates beautiful postcards which lend a hand to the ephemeral nature of the season and the medium.  lithography - is a printing process which requires a stone or aluminum plate, and was invented in the 18th Century. More info, here from the Tate.  Shin hanga - is a style of Japanese woodblock printmaking which began during the end of the Ukiyo-e period of Japanese printmaking, in the early 20th Century. Focusing on the foreign demand for “traditional” Japanese imagery and motifs such as castles, bridges, famous landscapes, bamboo forests, to name just a few.  Shin hanga was born in 1915 by Watanabe Shōzaburō (1885-1962) when he found Austrian artist Frtiz Capelari (1884-1950) and commissioned Capelari to design some prints for Watanabe's feldgling printing house . From there shin-hanga evolved into its own distinct “new” style of Japanese woodblock printing. It lasted as this distinct style until its innevitable decline after the Second World War (1939-1945). It is famous for its frescoes and religious heritage. More info can be found, here.  bokashi - is a mokuhanga technique, where the pigment fades from a heavy colour to a softer, broad colour. Made famous by prints designed by Hokusai and Hiroshige, this technique is, for me, the most popular technique utilized by  mokuhanga printmakers. There are various types: Ichimoji-bokashi or straight line graduation, used in the above mentioned Hiroshige and Hokusai prints. Ichimoji-mura-bokashi or straight line gradation with uneven edge. Ō-bokashi or wide gradation, Ate-nashi-bokashi or gradation without definition. Futa-iro-bokashi or two tone gradation, and ita-bokashi or softer-edge gradation, where the block is cut in a specific way to achieve this style of gradation. All of these styles of bokashi technique take practice and skill but are very much doable.  © Popular Wheat Productions opening and closing credit music - Rob Swift, A Turntable Experience, from trhe album Soulful Fruit (1997) logo designed and produced by Douglas Batchelor and André Zadorozny  Disclaimer: Please do not reproduce or use anything from this podcast without shooting me an email and getting my express written or verbal consent. Four Georgia families had enough. Faced with what they consider to be a violent environment, these families pooled their resources and bought over 96 acres of land in Georgia to create a safe-zone and eventually an incorporated town. Called the Georgia Freedom Initiative, these Georgians want to rid themselves of "Karens"--Yankees--and have a safe community that could lead to "generational wealth." This private initiative is "think locally, act locally" in action, and I wanted to discuss the prospects on this episode of The Brion McClanahan Show. https://mcclanahanacademy.com https://brionmcclanahan.com/support http://learntruehistory.com --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/brion-mcclanahan/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/brion-mcclanahan/support

“Four score and seven years ago…” Those are some of the most famous words in American history. Most of us know that President Abraham Lincoln spoke them in what is now known as the Gettysburg Address in 1863, at the official dedication of a cemetery for men who had fallen during the Battle of Gettysburg. And most of us know that Lincoln was referring to 1776 and the Founding Fathers who wrote the Declaration of Independence. But why did Lincoln mention that year and that event in the very first line of his speech that day? That is one of the questions that Lucas E. Morel answers in his short but illuminating book, Lincoln and the American Founding (SIUP, 2020). In a time when some Americans are vandalizing statues and other artistic representations of the Founding Fathers and even some of Lincoln and going so far as portraying the men of the founding generation as villains, Morel's book is vital reading. Morel tells us which of the founders Lincoln particularly admired, why the Declaration was of greater import to Lincoln's political thinking than the Constitution and how Lincoln turned to the Declaration again and again throughout his adult life as ammunition in his argumentation and as a source of personal inspiration and aspiration for the nation as a whole. Morel also brings into focus long-ago debates such as that over the Kansas–Nebraska Act of 1854 and explains why Lincoln was so reluctant to declare himself an abolitionist but also why he was adamant that as the newly elected president and head of the quite new Republican party, he could not make any concessions to the Secessionists. Morel makes the case for Lincoln as master logician in his debates with Stephen Douglas in 1858 as Lincoln tried to persuade his fellow white Americans that not only was slavery unjust but that it was a unsustainable foundation on which to base governance in any part of the growing nation. This is a gem of a book by a scholar for a general audience in need of an understanding of how the founders influenced Lincoln and, thereby, all of us. Give a listen. Hope J. But why did Lincoln mention that year and that event in the very first line of his speech that day? That is one of the questions that Lucas E. Morel answers in his short but illuminating book, Lincoln and the American Founding (SIUP, 2020). In a time when some Americans are vandalizing statues and other artistic representations of the Founding Fathers and even some of Lincoln and going so far as portraying the men of the founding generation as villains, Morel’s book is vital reading. Morel tells us which of the founders Lincoln particularly admired, why the Declaration was of greater import to Lincoln’s political thinking than the Constitution and how Lincoln turned to the Declaration again and again throughout his adult life as ammunition in his argumentation and as a source of personal inspiration and aspiration for the nation as a whole. Hope J.
