But they seem to be doing their work more furiously today than in recent history. Why do they continue to grow?Shenee Edwards can use her background to elaborate on the unfortunate topic of bullying and how it can have serious consequences. I'm used to the 280 character limit that Twitter gives me, but since I have more room here, let me tell you about myself! I graduated from Binghamton University in December of 2020 with a BA in English and I am looking to go into a career in the realm of public relations and social media. My passion lies in the field of athletics, whether that be college, professional sports, or athlete branding and marketing. However, I am open to learning and growing in different fields and have done internships in Lifestyle PR, higher education, and non-profit work. Currently, I am an Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant at St. John's University. In this role, I serve as the primary media contact for both Women's Volleyball and Track and Field/Cross-Country, as well as being additional support for basketball. It is so exciting to be able to learn and grow new skills in the Big East Conference. Thanks to my position, I am also receiving a fully-funded Masters Degree in Sport Management. The knowledge I am learning in the classroom is invaluable. During undergrad, I took on leadership roles in various different clubs and organizations, including Dickinson Community Players (a student-run theatre group), Binghamton Dance Marathon (#FTK!), and my sorority, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Pi. I have worked with various different groups of people really honing in on my teamwork, leadership development, and communications skills. In addition, I spent two years interning in Binghamton's Athletic Department. Beyond the professional realm, I also am a creator. Since my YouTube comeback in January of 2019, I have been producing content focused on a wide variety of angles. My most popular videos include those depicting life at Binghamton University. My videos show every aspect of my life, encompassing my health and fitness journey and navigating post-grad life, the job-search and grad school. When stepping out into a business venture with boundless determination, we forget the most important thing; we're only human. And as humans, we need boundaries. But how do we distinguish what it means to remain steadfast on our journey to professional success and what it means to surrender to understanding that not everything is within the confines of our control? Join host Tawney Allen as she opens a conversation with Shenee Randolph, owner of Ms_NaeStyles and creator of Ms. Naestyle's Growth and Beard Oils. They dive deep into the importance of balancing the grit and grind of being a business owner with the grounding and gratitude essential to making it work. Though our roads are paved with good intent, circumstances beyond our power will always appear on our route. But if our thoughts become our reality, how can we continue to embody our purpose despite the hurdles that may deter us? October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Having a high-risk pregnancy and being put on bed rest brings many challenges to a woman already in a heightened emotional state. These emotions carry a lot of anxiety and worry about the health of the mother and the baby. Join us to hear Shenee’s personal story.  Shenee Bend experienced a high-risk pregnancy that required her to be on hospital bed rest for a month. It was shortly after this time that she decided to focus her counseling work on pregnant and postpartum women. Shenee Bend is from California and now resides in Georgia with her husband and their two children. She is a licensed professional counselor who is trained in perinatal mental health. Shenee has an online practice serving pregnant and postpartum women in Georgia and Florida. Shenee will be sharing her bed rest pregnancy story along with coping skills to use if you are currently experiencing a high-risk pregnancy. Show Highlights: Shenee’s pregnancy story of her second pregnancy with her son, when things were going very smoothly . . . At 32 weeks, early morning bleeding caused some concern, so Shenee went to the hospital and prepared for a possible preterm delivery After a three-day stay, she was sent home with strict instructions With more bleeding in the next 24 hours, she returned to the hospital for what ended up being a month-long stay until her son was born Many emotions played into the acceptance of her fate and her anxiety about her son’s health and safety The difference between high-risk pregnancy(certain risk factors, like advanced age, multiples, and previous problems) and pregnancy complications(developing health issues, like high blood pressure, anemia, gestational diabetes, and mental health conditions) The link between mental health and pregnancy How Shenee was worried about her baby and sad for her body in the way it was experiencing pregnancy Shenee’s tips about coping skills: Feel all the feelings Forgive yourself Shift your perspective Keep a schedule Use positive affirmations Limit social media use Be selectively social with other people The danger in having negative thoughts How Shenee was induced at 37 weeks after a month in the hospital How to recognize the need for professional help in determining the difference between high-stress situations and clinical depression Hopeful messages from Shenee: “Remember that a bed rest situation is temporary, and you will get through it.” Resources: www.pregnancytherapist.com Check out Shenee’s three-part video series! @pregnancytherapist

Shenee is a counselor who focuses on serving pregnancy and postpartum women. Her second pregnancy was going well until her 32nd week presented with bleeding the same week as her baby shower. She was blessed to have additional support in town, her husband stayed with their older daughter, and her best friend joined her at the hospital over the next three days. The bleeding was unexplained, but she was treated to prevent a preterm birth. She was advised to stop working, but she pushed for less restrictive discharge orders as she believed she had a vascular cervix. Her providers suspected placental abruption as she found herself back at the hospital less than 24 hours later.Shenee eventually agreed to stay at the hospital until her baby was born to keep them both safe. There was a period of surrender that led to a month-long hospital stay. This was followed by a feeling of body shame and grief for the pregnancy experience she had expected. Her husband and daughter would visit every other day and enhanced their bond during their time together. Shenee dug deep and started each day with intention and positive affirmations that would later inspire her counseling work. The low intervention birth plan had made some significant changes, but she managed to maintain some of her choices. The Get Paid Podcast: The Stark Reality of Entrepreneurship and Being Your Own Boss

Brand strategy and brand copy is incredibly important in our businesses. Our brand image, design, logo, as well as the copy we produce can often send subliminal messages to our readers, clients, and potential customers about who we are, what we do, and why they should work with us. In today's episode, I talk with Brand Copy Strategist Shenee Howard about her view points on brand copy, style, strategy, and chemistry. Shenee, in my opinion, has become famous for her awesome email newsletters and GIFs. She also gets incredibly intimate with me about her business – from what drove her to become a successful entrepreneur to setbacks and doubts she has had over the course of her career as well as a few future aspirations she is looking to dive into!

Show notes found at http://kristyoustalet.com/46   Years ago, our guest, Shenee Howard felt frustrated on where her business was and lost about what direction she should take her business.   Today, Shenee is sharing with us the one thing she did to turn the ship around to create killer copy + Hell Yes! offers. In this episode, Shenee will tell us about the 100 people project, why she did it and how you can do it too.   Let’s start here: There’s no substitute for talking to real people. What does that mean?   With all of the Ideal Client Avatar hype, you run into a little problem… they’re not real + its all about the subtleties that you can only pick up on when your actually talking to a potential client. So, Shenee challenged herself to talk to 100 people to turn her frustrating business around and get back on track she appropriately called it the: 100 People Project.   What’s the point of spending all that time talking to people… for free?   It gives you a chance to stop and get clarity on what you want to do, what you like to do and figure out how that matches up with your customers wants + needs.   Based off those conversations she created her first sold out class.   BAM!  That sounds like a turning point if you ask me...   Interested in starting your own 100 People Project?  Here are a few tips:   How to find the people for the project: Make sure you are in Facebook Groups with your clients (not only people in your industry). Find other people based off of momentum. When you start talking to one person in a mastermind group, offer a freebie call to speak to each one. Ask for referrals. When you reach out (post on social media or email directly) make them feel like they its so good they should have been charged. In other words – give value. Don’t make your offer too general, otherwise people won’t ‘get it’ and see the value. The intention is literally to talk to you for research, so be clear that this isn’t a sales pitch. Create regular content so that people want to talk to you and know what to talk to you about. Be sure to ask these two questions: 1. What do you need?2. What are you looking for?   Free consults to pick your potential customer’s brain is technically like working for free, but so is not having any clients for your latest program…Which do you prefer? All show notes can be found at http://kristyoustalet.com/46
