If digital marketing is part of your business then you've probably noticed that it's gotten a lot more expensive.  Customer acquisition costs have gotten so high that it's been driving digital brands to open physical stores - which is now seen as the less expensive way to attract new customers. Is it just that the price per click is higher - or has the performance or conversion as it is called - gotten worse? And what can marketers do improve both conversion and return on their investment in digital marketing?Today I am speaking with John Readman, Founder & Product Owner at Ask BOSCO.He's worked with some of the world's largest brands - including Asos, Pepsi, BMW, Superdry, Honda, HP, Toyota, Argos and Sigma Sports -  helping them shape their online proposition and increase their e-commerce performance. In this episode of A Seat at The Table, John talks about:Why the money is in the conversion not the clicks. How competing for keywords is helping Google and Facebook - not you.Why every brand needs a ‘marketplace strategy'How predictive marketing is helping brands maximise the return on their digital marketing spend.USEFUL LINKS:Ask BOSCO website: https://askbosco.ioConnect with John Readman on LinkedIn:  https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnreadman/Learn more about The Current Situation in Sourcing:  https://insidefashionlive.net/css A Seat at The Table website:  https://seatpodcast.com

A true star & very recognisable figure of British Cycling, there isn't much Matt Stephens hasn't achieved. From growing up racing across the UK scene in the 80s & 90s, turning professional & racing all over the world, through to becoming British Road Race National Champion in 1998, & more recently gracing our screens as a commentator & reporter for Eurosport's Cycling Coverage. We had the chance to sit down with Matt over a coffee here at G!RO to hear first hand what it was like racing in a scene that was a shadow of where we see cycling here in the UK today. Cycling is now a nationally celebrated sport, but for Matt to take the step to turn professional was a lesser trodden path in the 90s. Its clear that Matt still has the same passion now that he had as a youth racing for his local Hemel Hampstead Cycling Club & we loved sitting with him to hear his stories. This is hopefully one of a few more podcasts with this true gent! So sit back, grab a brew and enjoy! This most enthralling Tour de France took another twist on the Col du Tourmalet and Richard Moore, Lionel Birnie and François Thomazeau were there to witness the stage and record their thoughts as the race unfolded. The first big question asked of Julian Alaphilippe, the race leader, was whether he would cope on the first hors categorie mountain of the Tour, and the first time this race has gone above 2,000 metres. We asked a range of people whether they thought Alaphilippe could win the Tour, we ask what happened to Geraint Thomas and weigh up whether Alaphilippe or Thibaut Pinot are the most likely of the French contenders to win the race. The Tour de France continues to intrigue and, with just over a week to go, the question of who is going to win the race is yet to be answered. Join Richard Moore, Lionel Birnie and François Thomazeau at their hillside retreat close to Pau where they reflect on the only individual time trial stage of the Tour. We expected Julian Alaphilippe to still be in yellow tonight but few thought he would win the stage and extend his lead. We ask what this means for the Tour now. Is Geraint Thomas still the favourite to win in Paris? Who were the other winners and losers in the race against the clock. After the drama at La Planche des Belles Filles yesterday, the Tour de France settled in for a long, slow day in the sun. But there’s no such thing as a snoozy episode of The Cycling Podcast and so we join Richard Moore, Lionel Birnie and François Thomazeau at their hotel for a recap of the stage. The Tour de France burst into life with a classic mountain stage on La Planche des Belles Filles, with the final gravel section seeming to put an element of doubt into the minds of the riders. Richard Moore, Lionel Birnie and François Thomazeau recap the sixth stage of the Tour which saw two debutants take the major honours. The stage was won by Belgian rider Dylan Teuns with his breakaway companion Giulio Ciccone pinching the yellow jersey by a fine margin despite a spirited late bid to keep it by Julian Alaphilippe. To begin with, we hear from a range of riders and team managers about what they expected from the stage and then discuss whether their predictions matched the reality. Spoiler: They didn’t. We ask why no one chased harder earlier in the stage, we weigh up who had a good day and who didn’t, and discuss the significance of Geraint Thomas’s strength in the final few hundred metres of the stage. Jason and Ian's story is of two entrepreneurs, who began making their own luck as teenagers with freight ferry crossings from Belgium in a Vauxhall Nova filled with bicycle components. Their story is one of expansion, from Saturday morning sales from Turner’s bedroom, to a 9,000 square foot former office block - converted to a ‘destination store’ at a cost of £1m.  So whether you’re interested in the world of cycling, or want to know more about running a successful independent retail store, then I hope you enjoy this episode of the Inside Kingston™ podcast.    ~ LINKS & RESOURCES ~ Sigma Sports - Website & Twitter & Instagram Jason Turner - LinkedIn   ~ YOUR HOST ~  Hi, I'm Amyr Rocha-Lima.
