Last year I was totally delighted to appear on a podcast called The Coach's Compass, giving me an opportunity to dive deep into all things coaching with host Clark Luby.In the episode, Clark - a listener to The Coach's Journey - turns my favourite starter question back on me by asking me to recall when I first came across coaching, and that takes me back to a crucial juncture in my life and career. From there, we talk through the support structures and containers that helped me through early coaching challenges such as finding clients and talking about money, and I offer up some practical tools that can help you to establish the kind of coach you really want to be, factoring in the styles of coaching you admire and personalities you aspire to emulate. We also explore the importance of Rich Litvin's work to the evolution of coaching and to my own practice, and I share one of the exercises he taught me that led me to do some of my best work.In this episode, we talk about:The shift that happens after your first attempt at being an adultMaking the process of your work something that you really enjoyBeing a player in the game of your businessThe point at which coaching businesses start to carry themselves forwardHow to stay authentic while taking influence from other coachesWhy I think it's okay to steal from people*We also talk about the best times to break the rules of coaching, or the rules of anything for that matter! To hear other episodes of the Coach's Compass Podcast, visit https://thecoachscompass.libsyn.com/For information about my wider work and writing, visit www.robbieswale.com, and to buy my book, click here.Join the WBECS Free Pre-Summit: https://share.coaching.com/6d3qN2Music by My Good Man William: listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/4KmeQUcTbeE31uFynHQLQgTo support the Coach's Journey, visit www.patreon.com/thecoachsjourney and to join the Coach's Journey Community visit www.thecoachsjourney.com/community. Irish new wave rockers The Boomtown Rats will return in 2020 with their first new album in 36 years. Entitled Citizens of Boomtown, the 10-track effort is due out on March 13th via BMG. The album features the lineup of Bob Geldof on vocals, Pete Briquette on bass, Simon Crowe on drums, and Garry Roberts on guitar. Briquette also served as producer. The first single, “Trash Glam, Baby”, will be released on January 10th. Update: Listen to the song here. To coincide with the album's release, The Boomtown Rats will embark on a UK tour next spring. Additionally, Faber Music will publish a new book by Geldof entitled, Tales of Boomtown Glory, compiling the band's lyrics, new stories penned by Geldof, and his archival notebooks. If all that weren't enough, a new documentary film from Billy McGrath is also on the way. In a statement, Geldof explained the genesis of the band's new album: “So why a new record? “Because that's what bands do. They make records. Songwriters write songs. There's so much to respond to in this new and different febrile atmosphere that we live in. People forget we took our name from Woody Guthrie, the great musical activist. I think The Boomtown Rats have always shown that rock'n'roll is a form of musical activism. The music has intent and purpose even if that is just the sound, about boy/girl, nothing particularly at all, everything in general, or pointed polemical…. whatever.” See the album's tracklist and band's upcoming tour dates below. Business Coaching with Join Up Dots

Doing the impossible can quite often seem a step too far for most people. But my guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who seems loves doing the impossible more than anything. He is kind of normal from the outside, but did deeper and you can see a world changing mission. One side of the fence is a coach, and a very successful one at that. He has has helped clients create multimillion pound investments from nothing, he has coached CEO's to build thriving companies, philanthropists to set up charities, couples to conceive and lovers to start fantastic relationships. He has helped the intrepid to change jobs, change careers and even change countries. He has helped entrepreneurs to find their dream companies and senior executives to earn promotion to the Board. He is dedicated to serving extraordinary people in recreating their lives beyond recognition. Which is of course powerful stuff for sure but then you see the standout journey that he is on. At least it is for us at Join Up Dots. In 2015 he created the impossible busting Chicken shit foundation, which was created to honour and fulfill the legacy of Rafael Bejarano Rangel, who was tragically killed in Egypt, to bring empowerment, education, and transformation to all people through music, laughter and compassion, and to help re-awaken waning or lost indigenous traditions and support their sustainability and survival through the youth of the world. They accomplish their mission by enrolling the support and voices of Chicken-Shits (ie. those who need to believe in themselves more, even if it's just at certain times with certain people, and who would benefit from taking stock of the gifts and talents they posses that the world is hungry for, and then sharing accordingly.) Our current projects include building schools in Liberia West Africa and for a community in Mexico as well as youth empowerment and preservation of indigenous traditions among youth around the world. They do this by fund raising, mentoring, providing leadership and raising awareness and through building a global community. Big stuff is going on in this mans life so it is a delight to have him on the show. But what made this English man do something, very un-english, and peer his head over his own garden fence and start to make a difference to others across the world? And does he look back and think, I wished I had started this earlier or did it appear at the perfect time for him to be able to achieve his aims? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Simon Crowe

Leaders Of Transformation | Leadership Development | Conscious Business | Global Transformation

What is your bold vision and what is required in order for you to transform it into reality? In today's episode, UK-based Transformational Coach, Simon Crowe, takes us on a mind expanding journey as he describes his adventures in leadership and transformation, and how you can use your curiosity and creativity to heal the world. For over a decade, Simon has been coaching entrepreneurs, leaders, and philanthropists to find passion projects that stir their soul and then make them a reality. He has guided several groups of leaders to visit Liberia, West Africa, where they get to experience firsthand how different people think and operate differently, based on their view of the world.  As Simon shares his heartfelt stories, including describing his own passion project for building a school in Liberia, he weaves in vital leadership principles, steps on how to shift your mindset, and how to move from being resource-driven to resourceful, where you're able to connect to the vast opportunities around you.   Money is not a limiter, rather, our mindset is the only thing standing in the way of us fulfilling our bold visions. In this interview, Simon gives us the tools to transform our thinking, fulfill our wildest dreams, and leave our mark on humanity.  Key Takeaways 1) When you start to feel rather than think, your construct of the world changes. 2) Rather than focusing on your lack of resources, develop a mindset of resourcefulness so you can see the opportunities already around you and be able to connect to them. 3) Rather than ask, "What can I do?" ask yourself, "How can I be?" This is where true transformation begins.  4) Harness the power of affirmations in changing your mindset.  5) Anything you commit consistent action to, will have a lasting impact.  Favorite Quote "See the world differently, and your world changes." Simon Crowe Bio Simon Crowe's sole purpose as a coach is to support the personal evolution of his clients. He sees this as the key to self-expression, fulfillment and living a meaningful life. Simon coaches successful people to accomplish this in rich and creative ways. He loves the fun and challenge of helping the people he works with to evolve and thrive in this ever-changing universe. Simon has helped clients create multimillion pound investments from nothing, he has coached CEO's to build thriving companies, philanthropists to set up charities, couples to conceive and lovers to start fantastic relationships. He has helped the intrepid to change jobs, change careers and even change countries. He has helped entrepreneurs to found their dream companies and senior executives to earn promotion to the Board. He is dedicated to serving extraordinary people in recreating their lives beyond recognition. His curiosity has lead him to many interesting parts of the world. He has lived and worked in Europe, Africa, India, and the USA and has worked with clients as far afield as Russia, New Zealand, Hungary and Singapore. He recently returned from Liberia in West Africa where he shared the stage with leaders like Rich Litvin, Spryte Loriano and Kimmie Weeks at an empowerment event for 400 teachers. Website: TheBigIdea.space Most Influential Person My wife, Stacey Effect on Emotions To me, an emotion or a feeling is a word that we give to an awareness of a vibration. Why that's important to me is, I've been reading a book called The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer and what I appreciate about the book is he talks about our emotions. If we're scared of them then we live our lives trying to protect ourselves from our emotions and we create this incredibly crazy complex life full of emotional interactions. If we can just see our emotions as energy, they don't mean anything to who we are ... that distinction between our higher self and our ego-driven mind. What I find myself doing now when I feel strong energy, I try not to label it as a particular emotion. I let it rise up in my heart and my chest. I let it find a way out. Almost like letting the gas bubbles in a bottle escape. If I suppress it or try to change my behaviour, or change the external world in some way, then all I'm doing is keeping that locked in. And so it just keeps returning. How mindfulness has really helped me is, I've become much more aware of those energetic vibrations. I've got a completely different relationship with them now. I get less fearful of them and I now allow them to arise in their energetic form and not connect to the stories that I hold around those energetic vibrations, those emotions, and just watch them pass. I feel so much more resilient and able to deal with situations. Thoughts on Breathing I have a series of affirmations I say every day and one of them is, I breathe deeply into my belly. I had a yoga teacher one who said, if men just breathed properly into their bellies, then 90 percent of the problems we go to therapists around, would be solved. The breath is a fundamental connection. When I'm meditating that's what I use as my focal point.  I bring my awareness and my attention to my breathing. Breath is something which opens me, which expands me, which connects me to the greater cosmos. Suggested Resources Book: The Art of Living by Bob Proctor Book: The Unteathered Soul by Michael A. Singer App: ThinkUp: Positive Affirmations & Motivation (Precises Wellness LLC) Effect on Emotions There were times when I was a young boy when I was guilty of bullying other people. I realize that when I was twelve or thirteen, I would pick on the kid in the class for whatever reason. Whatever this person was being singled out for, whether they wore glasses or they looked different, or were from a different background. I would just join in the name-calling and didn't give a moment's thought to the experience that poor person was having and what the impact may have been as to what they thought or felt about themselves. It felt very selfish. But that's only on reflection. I didn't feel selfish in that moment, I was just doing what everybody else was doing. It's because I didn't have that awareness. There were two things going on, there was the action I was doing and there was the ability to think about and assess whether those actions are ones that I really want to be engaged in. Whether it's something that they would have the impact that I would be proud of and now I'm slightly embarrassed to have to tell this story. It was a complete lack of mindfulness, of awareness in that moment. I was just behaving automatically. It was just really ignorance. I hadn't given it a moment's thought. Now with the awareness I now have as an adult, I think that was just really poor behavior.

Overcoming FEAR can at times be quite challenging. Add to that the desire to build confidence. When we see others operating at their full potential or at capacity, we wonder why that is not true of us. At least, I do. What you'll discover in this episode is that confidence is not something you wait for, it is something that comes by you simply taking action over and over again. The more those action steps are taken, the more confidence will be built. In so doing, fear will have to take a back seat and move from being behind the wheel.
