Rod Serling singing Christmas carols, garden variety anxiety, and the dog show opener for a Beastie Boys concert. Steve Okonski (Okonski, Durand Jones & The Indications, Aaron Frazer) OKONSKI Entrance Music [RELEASE DATE: 2/28/2025]- https://www.coleminerecords.com/collections/okonski "After nearly two years, Okonski returns with Entrance Music — an album that finds the trio at the height of their improvisational prowess and celebrating the spontaneous and meditative. On the heels of 2023's debut Magnolia, pianist and leader Steve Okonski has reconvened long-time musical collaborators (Durand Jones and the Indications bandmate Aaron Frazer on drums and bassist Michael Isvara “Ish” Montgomery) for another session in the spirit of artists like the Bad Plus, Gerald Clayton, and The Breathing Effect. Ultimately Entrance Music serves as an invitation to early hours, where songs linger in the doorway, announcing their presence before returning to the air, in a meticulous drift into the next. Recorded over a five day session, Entrance Music was one of the first albums committed to tape at Portage Lounge, Terry Cole's studio in Loveland, OH. “It was a new setup, but with Terry behind the dials it was very familiar,” says Okonski. “I can't emphasize enough how much Terry feels like a fourth member [of the band] because of the space he's curating, the energy he is bringing, and the production ideas.” The energy and sound created with the Colemine label head at the helm makes for a listening experience equally at home with ECM or Stones Throw catalogs. From the rippling notes of the pastoral opener, “October,” Entrance Music is lush with anticipation, both band and listener feeling the tension in the tranquility — where the interplay of jazz improvisation and boom bap beats never shortchanges the musicianship but the talent is ever in service of the song. While the band does not play together as often as they would like, not much time is needed for the three to lock in. Montgomery's bass opening to “Passing Through” bends and moves with a singular meditative grace before piano and percussion joins the daylight filling a room with breath and light. If Magnolia resonated with last calls and late nights, Entrance Music counters with early mornings and first cups of coffee. Whereas much of the debut resonates with his time in New York, Entrance Music “feels a little less ‘on the streets at 2 A.M.' and a little more nature-based…a little more ethereal,” says Okonski. “It's definitely age, environment, and family — all of that does come through in the music.”" Excerpt from https://www.coleminerecords.com/collections/okonski Okonski: Bandcamp: https://okonski.bandcamp.com/music Instagram: @steve.okonski Website: https://linktr.ee/okonski Records: https://www.coleminerecords.com/collections Merch: https://okonski.bandcamp.com/merch Durand Jones & The Indications: Bandcamp: https://durandjonesandtheindications.bandcamp Instagram: @durandjonesandtheindications Website: https://store.durandjonesandtheindications.com Records: https://www.coleminerecords.com/collections/durand Merch: https://store.durandjonesandtheindications.com Aaron Frazer Bandcamp: https://aaronfrazermusic.bandcamp.com/music Instagram: @aaron_frazer Website: https://aaronfrazermusic.com Records: https://www.coleminerecords.com/collections/aaron Merch: https://shop.aaronfrazermusic.com The Vineyard: Instagram: @thevineyardpodcast Website: https://www.thevineyardpodcast.com Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSn17dSz8kST_j_EH00O4MQ/videos

"Passing Through and Passing Over" (Exodus 11:1 - 12:36)

The River Audio Podcast with Pastor Jack Holt

In today's message, Pastor Jack talks about "The Power of Passing Through" and how as believers, we often carry emotional and spiritual baggage from hardships, preventing us from fully entering the blessings God has for us. Drawing from the stories of the Israelites' journey to the Promised Land and the trials of figures like Jacob and Jesus, Pastor Jack encourages us not to let the pain of past experiences linger in our lives. Instead, we are called to cling to God, trust Him through the challenges, and emerge without the weight of our struggles, stepping into the fullness of His blessings. Pastor Jack reminds us that, like Christ passed through suffering for our salvation, we too can pass through our trials with hope and victory, leaning on God's promises and the support of our church community. Tune in now! Join us for service every Sunday at 9 and 11am (PST) and Wednesday at 7pm (PST) If you received Christ through this message, text JESUS to (253) 859-0832 We would love to hear how God is touching your life through this ministry! Sometimes while we are passing through, God will plant us before we arrive at our destination. In other words, God has a completely different plan for our lives. During this transitional time we must stay focus on what God is saying. If we cooperate with Him, we will fulfill the plans that He has for us and enjoy the blessings.

“Knowledge is structured in consciousness.” This is one of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's most famous quotes. Five simple words that don't just convey a meaning, they also embody that meaning. You might hear this quote and think you “get it,” but when you revisit it later on, when your consciousness has broadened even further, then you realize that there's actually an even deeper level of meaning to it, and now you “really get it.” And when you revisit it later on, you realize there's an even deeper level of meaning to it…This is part of a self-fulfilling loop, whereby knowledge progressively becomes wisdom, wisdom that can be applied in real time, in response to the circumstances we find ourselves in.Vedic meditators have a distinct advantage in this, taking twenty minutes twice each day to visit the home of all knowledge, to refine the process of Knowing, to become the Knower of the Known. But Vedic Meditators also have an additional advantage; access to Thom's most popular and enduring course, Exploring the Veda, a program that was recorded more than 20 years ago. It was a response to the need of the time, a need that is even more relevant now than it was back then, hence why hundreds of meditators take the course, or even repeat the course, every year.Think of it as your Masters in Knowledge and Consciousness, an opportunity to accelerate your understanding, not just of the laws of Nature, but the nature of Nature itself. In this episode, Thom delivers a brief precis of Exploring the Veda, and invites you to enquire with your local Vedic Meditation Initiator to find out when they might be holding the course locally. Episode Highlights:[00:45] What is the Veda?[02:39] Exploring the Veda in Eighteen Hour Increments[05:04] The Magic of Bija Mantras[07:19] 20 Minutes to Inner Silence[10:03] Passing Through the Veda Field[12:28] Creation, Maintenance, and Destruction[15:03] Exploring the Veda Course[16:31] Learning how the Laws of Nature WorkUseful Linksinfo@thomknoles.com https://thomknoles.com/https://www.instagram.com/thethomknoleshttps://www.facebook.com/thethomknoleshttps://www.youtube.com/c/thomknoleshttps://thomknoles.com/ask-thom-anything/ Find out more about Thom's upcoming Rounding Retreat in Sedona in May 2024, https://thomknoles.com/sedona

Linedy Genao - After receiving her bachelor's degree in Business Administration at the University of Connecticut, she began a career in banking. However, after receiving a message encouraging her to audition for the first open call of Gloria & Emilio Estefan's On Your Feet, her life changed forever. With only high school theater experience, Linedy landed her first Broadway-bound show, On Your Feet, and hasn't stopped since! Linedy has continued to rise through the ranks, most recently as the Alana/Zoe understudy on Dear Evan Hansen prior to its Broadway closing and on its first national tour. She was also recently named in Variety's “10 Broadway Stars to Watch” list. Additional credits include Passing Through, West Side Story, Havana Music Hall, A Taste of Things to Come, and In the Heights. She is honored to be the first Latina/Dominican-American to originate an Andrew Lloyd Webber Broadway-bound musical. Kris Carrasco is a genderqueer, Latino-American artist hailing from the Appalachian mountains of western North Carolina. Born to immigrant parents, his first taste of the stage was seeing Jennifer Lopez star in the hit movie Selena, and through the incredible power of representation, a flame was lit. Kris' love of storytelling stems from the belief that as artists, we are the storytellers of the human experience and that it is our duty to record humanity (and our experiences with it) as diversely and specifically as possible with a 21st-century anti-racist lens on everything. Kris' greatest hope is that anyone that comes to a performance of theirs leaves with a greater sense of empathy for themselves, their community, and most importantly those who've lived experience is different. SUEÑOS tells the untold story of three generations of a Mexican-American family and their pursuit of the American Dream. The story primarily focuses on the viewpoint of protagonist, Ali Viramontes,  and his journey to becoming a world renown composer. Juilliard is his one-way ticket and he won't let anything stop him, even if he has to sacrifice those close to him. Obstacles become too challenging to overcome and seems there's no other way, but to continue the cycle that tore down his family's dreams. This original, contemporary musical celebrates Latiné/Latinx people and cultures, and weaves their stories into the fabric of the American Musical Theatre.

There are no limits to the potentialities of consciousness. If you know where you are on an accurate map of reality, that will become clear. You will also learn that the world is made of language and is produced by pulsations of mental energy. This is information everyone needs to know—in order to cope with the rapidly unfolding events in this mind-driven matrix.   This teaching is taken from our most recent retreat, Passing Through the Gate - https://bit.ly/3qbVcxP

Tales from the edge of the morning sky

WindowThere's a window on the world tonight, looking beyond the rooftops, into the heart of a deepening night. It's so still out there, beyond the garden, through the early springtime, the drifting clouds, behind the moon and light. And above, the sky, shimmering, across the pools of water, the teardrops fallfragile, the stars, hushed and gentle, in their fadingevening light. For the falling rain is starlight, callingupon the still and silent earth, its so quiet, you can hear the bells of evensong, lifetimes once again passing by, in the whispers of dust and prayers. And waiting behind the stage, the theatre of time the callof departuresjust to the left, ‘goodbye to all this,'whispers the winter, turning to the rootshe quietly leaves his garden, and passes quietlyinto the sinking skies, and west…
