What if your pain, irritation, or sexual discomfort was being dismissed because no one ever taught your doctor how to look for the real cause? There's a reason vulvar conditions like lichen sclerosus are often missed or misdiagnosed—and it's not because they're rare. It's because most doctors aren't trained to recognize the signs. In this episode, I'm joined by Dr. Jill Krapf, a dedicated gynecologist and vulvar skin expert, to unpack the truth about vulvar dermatoses, why it takes so long to get diagnosed, and what can be done when scarring, pain, and sexual dysfunction start taking over your life.We don't just skim the surface—we go deep into the subtle (and not-so-subtle) symptoms, the stories of people who were told nothing was wrong when something clearly was, and what really works when managing chronic vulvar skin conditions. Jill also shares insights about how women of color are even more likely to be overlooked and misdiagnosed because of gaps in training and representation in medical education. If you've ever been told “it's just in your head,” or if you've silently dealt with vulvar discomfort, pain with sex, or itching that won't go away—this episode is a must. There is real hope and effective care available. You just need to know where to look—and what to ask.

Imagine striving to believe something for over 30 years, but your “light switch” just isn't turning on. The doubt, the fear, all building up for decades...until it finally culminates to a final, decisive act! How did it happen? What would you do? Why does it have to be this way? It's time to unpack some details! We're taking it back to Nick Snapp's old stomping grounds: the original 4-HOUR Miracles & Atheists LIVESTREAM! We're re-releasing an important conversation that Nick had with worldwide evangelist, Brian Essary, and positive atheism advocate, Janet Reyes. Janet Reyes is a former Southern Baptist Women's Minister who just recently came out as an atheist after 30 years of being involved with the Church. She's a research grant writer for a preeminent research university and has been grant writing for 18 years, and Janet has spent time volunteering for the Atheist Community of Austin serving on their Social Media Committee. Representing the Christian perspective is Evangelist, Brain Essary. Through his mass miracle crusades and networking with church planting programs he has seen over one million people come to Christ and hundreds of national churches planted throughout these villages of India. Brian is motivated by the belief that you can impact a region through a crusade but you will only change a nation through the national ministers. It was a lot of fun revisiting this particular livestream. One of our inspirations for going back through this conversation again because of the interesting challenge Janet posed to Brian at the end of the conversation...bring it! We are joined by two guests, Shane Rhinewald and Karen Dodson. Shane is Senior Director of Public Relations at The Strong Museum of Play, the ultimate play destination for all ages and the only museum in the world dedicated to the study of play. Shane works with the media and external partners to share the museum’s stories; from public programs and tourism programs to exhibits and new collections. He also leads the induction team for The Strong’s National Toy Hall of Fame, and World Video Game Hall of Fame, which receive billions of media impressions and international attention each year. Shane has a bachelor’s degree in History and a master’s degree in Journalism. He has been with the museum for 10 years in a variety of marketing and PR roles. Shane was also the 2017 Chair of the Visitor Industry Council and past Chair of Visit Rochester’s Social Media Committee. We also have Karen Dodson, Tourism Sales Associate at The Strong Museum of Play. Hired in 2016, Karen’s role was established to help build the travel trade market segment and increase visitation, both domestically and internationally. Karen’s more than 30 years’ experience working in the travel trade industry has included both regional and local hotel director of sales and marketing, 10 years managing a 425,000 square foot 100 plus store retail outlet, to planning and escorting outbound adult and student tour groups from the Rochester and surrounding areas. All of this has enabled her to bring her wealth of knowledge and experience to her current position. Karen also has served as the 2015 Chair of Visit Rochester’s Visitor Industry Council, has been a past Chair of the Travel Trade Committee of which she continues to be a member, and has been a past President of a local area Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the ABA Orientation Committee for the 2019 marketplace.
