Stacy and Eric get particularly into their conversation about International School Meals Day, comparing school lunch with home lunch. They determine the grass is always greener on the other side. As promised, they welcome a guest (Steve Haas) to the show and spin the Wheel ‘O Topics to determine their topic. Steve, Stacy, and Eric share their first “real” jobs. Steve learned his is now obsolete, Eric learned he likes suits and Stacy learned how to save lives. Vance Dingfelder from Dingfelder's Delicatessen and Nourish Catering shares that he started working in his family's restaurant by the age of 7 and clearly, he never left the biz! Go to https://dingfelders.com or https://nourishcatering.com for menus and more. Next time: What we've been watching recently
Which is why it's past time for Stacy to have an office to call her own. You'd think with “making her mark and owning it” (a reference to her Stacyism), Stacy would be more financially literate. However, as she and this week's guest, Steve Haas discuss, financial illiteracy is far reaching across all ages and stages of life. Steve uses his personal interests and abilities for a passion project, a financial literacy mentor. He works with both post-college, young adults, and folks he meets from his work with Peer Seattle (an organization that cultivates powerful, healthy lives by providing support and development services to the LGBTQ community impacted by addiction, mental health and/or HIV). Whichever demographic he's mentoring, Steve invests his time, confident the return on his investment will pay off in spades.
Today we're talking about shipping and logistics. Welcome to a brand new month! Coming up in the newscast today we take on the issue of crime. It's being framed as an election issue…but what are the…facts? Should there be a tax on excessive oil company profits? Job openings are up…again. It's the Tuesday, November 1st edition of the business news headlines…thanks everybody for being here. Also, remember that you can hook up with us all day on Twitter @IOB_NewsHour and on Instagram. Here's what we've got for you today: The GOP is hammering the Democrats on crime but, there is a but; Taxing massive oil profits or...not? In a surprise the number of job openings increased; Oil gained on the day closing at $88.57 a barrel; Retailers want your "extra stuff" and willing to pay; New I-Bonds are out and the rates are not too shabby; Older workers...being "quietly fired"? The Wall Street Report; Wage transparency comes to American Express. For the interview you'll hear from Steve Haas from the Fright Partners Group. If you ship anything, small to large you need to pay attention to what he has to say. It's really good stuff. You can hear that conversation by clicking this link. Thanks for listening! Welcome to EDGE Bandwidth, a show hosted by Patrick Whipkey, vice president of EDGE and Candice Aragon, vice president of marketing and education at the PSA Network, to share their expertise and have insightful conversations with professionals to explore and challenge what low voltage systems integrators are facing. Everyone is vulnerable to cyber attacks; it is not a matter of "if" but "when," with the past years having them rise to the top threat for companies of all sizes. In this episode, we discuss the importance of cyber insurance, what to look for in a policy, how to set a budget, and best practices, with Wayne Dean, Partner at Snellings Walters Insurance Company. It might be a little difficult to know where to begin, but we walk you through the process so you can minimize loss when it occurs. Join this conversation and learn about the future of cybersecurity insurance, Jump straight into: (00:52) - The importance of cyber security policies - “When cyber was formed by Steve Haas, it was designed to protect us on an individual basis. To help protect us from credit card theft, identity theft, and that's changed and evolved over the last years. And so from a company perspective, I would say the number one threat to a business is a cyber attack.” (04:12) - What should be looked for and best practices to get a cybersecurity policy - “You have to understand, first off, what coverages you're applying for. And second, asking yourself, are you able to get that amount of insurance for all of the carriers?” (12:20) - Based on the type of company, how to calculate risk and create a budget for a cyber security policy - “The more security measures and best practices you have in place, the better story we're gonna be able to give to the carrier and the better result we're gonna get from a premium perspective.” (14:11) - Tips, tricks and first steps for integrators to fully secure their company. - “Form a team inside your operation, include your IT guy and management, and then you explore options. If you don't have a cyber policy in place, you absolutely need to move in that direction.” Thanks for tuning in! He said that many evangelicals, for more than 60 years, had "clung to a very narrow theological narrative that weds Christian theology with a political ideology known as Zionism..."and, many of our brother Christ followers have allowed themselves to be squeezed into the roll of advocacy for Israel, and for war itself, by Christian Zionist errant scriptural teaching." In this podcast, we also talk about the Zionist attack to silence Anglican priest and Christian Zionist expert, Rev. Stephen Sizer who conducted a moving interview with Steve Haas in Jerusalem.
