However, you can only accept accredited investors. • Now with the bigger projects, we're doing more on the 506Cs because we want to bring in those institutional equity groups that we just create relationships with now. It's where my audience buys and it's where I see the most engagement.So I did some planning at the beginning of this year and realized that if I am to experience this kind of growth and hit this number, I need to get my lead magnet in front of new audiences. One way to do that is through paid advertising, and for me, that's Meta Ads. In this episode we are going to talk about Meta Ads (previously known as Facebook and Instagram ads) and how they can help you with your email list which ultimately helps you generate more leads to grow your business. We learn Mike's never asked for a raise, but he is a finance business partner who is often the one approving raises. And Maggie has successfully asked for at least one raise and was in a leadership position where she was often asked for raises and the person deciding if it was going to happen or not. We share our best tactical advice on how to ask for a raise. How to ask for a raise:Do your research. Know your worth in the market, either through other job postings or offers, what you know someone else makes at your company, etc.Know your performance and value at the company. What have your past performance reviews been? Above-average? If so, you might have a strong case. If not? It's likely not going to happen. Don't point to knowing someone else's salary, it's not a core reason to get a raise. It's more likely to put you, the person whose salary you somehow know, your hiring manager, and HR in an awkward spot. There are plenty of reasons why people are paid differently. Focus on what you feel you're worth and the desire to get paid for your worth. The best advice Maggie was ever given is don't demand something right now. After managing people for a decade-plus, she now sees why this advice was given to her. It's tough when you put someone on the spot and demand something right away, the answer is rarely going to be yes unless it's a small company and you're talking to the owner who can agree right on the spot.If you have an actual competing offer from another company, that is one of the easiest easy to get a raise but be ready to go take that other job if they call your bluff. You can either actually resign and wait for them to ask if there's anything they could do to keep you, or you could upfront let them know you're looking and have an offer, but you're primarily only looking due to wanting to get paid more equitably and that you're willing to stay if they can increase your salary. Be respectful, be patient, and think like a people manager. A huge piece of this is how you ask for it, not even what you ask for. The how is critical. Don't be resentful if you don't get what you want. This call is about how fear of commitment may truly be fear of loss. Today’s caller, Rachel, is collecting evidence about why she doesn’t want to be in a relationship because it will be too much work even though she says she would like to have a relationship. We talk about how the losses she experienced as a child may be coloring her perception of what a relationship will be like and how interdependent relationships can help us heal.   [For show notes, go here: Christinehassler.com/episode264]   People who felt very alone as children will lead a solitary life and think that it’s what they want because they want to avoid a wound about being lonely as a child. They stay in that energetic and continue living a lonely, solitary life because they don’t know any different. It keeps the old wound from coming up. It may not make a lot of logical sense but if you are someone who lives a solitary or lonely life, and you believe that you are an introvert and you like it better, is it really true? Or, is loneliness a wound from your childhood you are perpetuating in your adulthood?   When we don’t have stability or structure in our life or childhood, things become overwhelming as an adult. It’s because there is still a traumatized child running the show. This is why having a lot going on, for someone who moved around a lot, had a parent that died, or didn’t have someone there to provide structure and stability, is hard. Just a few things can seem overwhelming.   Until we do healing work, our perception is influenced by past wounding because we expect to see what we have seen in the past.   Consider/Ask Yourself: Are you not getting into a relationship because you don’t want one or because you are scared? Do you have a history of loss? Has loss been a major teacher for you? Are you afraid that if anyone gets too close, you will lose them? Do you spend a lot of time alone and think that you like that better? Do you believe your inner child wounding could actually be healed in a relationship? Do you avoid relationships because you’re afraid you’re going to get hurt?   Rachel’s Question: Rachel has experienced multiple losses and would like guidance on how to approach relationships in her life.   Rachel’s Key Insights and Ahas: She believes a relationship would be a lot of work. Her mother passed when she was seven. She was separated from her family members when her mother passed. She was adopted at 14 by a family friend. She may be looking for a caretaker in a relationship. She wants a relationship but is not sure it will fit her life. She would like a relationship with someone she can count on. She is craving a nurturing partner. She leads a solitary life and feels safer hiding herself. She has a lot of love to give.   How to Get Over It and On With It: Stop letting the loss she experienced define her. Open her heart to herself, other people, or an animal. Consider if she makes decisions from her heart or fear. Watch or read things that model a nurturing love.   Takeaways: Know that the thing that has been the primary teacher in your life does not have to be a consistent lesson. For any decision you are dealing with, ask yourself if you are making the choice from fear or from your heart. Connect to your mothering, nurturing energy, whether you are male or female. Know Your Own Ability Everyone is designed with their own ability, but the thing is, you must push yourself to recognize it - if you already haven't. It is only when you have identified your ability that you can fully realize what you are capable of. Without constantly trying and putting in the work, you will not be able to know what you are good at and how far you can stretch.   While fear and lack of confidence cannot be ignored when it comes to reaching your full potential, it is also important to address your weaknesses in order to achieve great value. That said, the main question then becomes, how exactly do you identify your own ability? To help us answer this question is none other than Phoebe Hagan.    Phoebe Hagan is an IFBB bikini pro, online fitness coach and posing coach. She earned her pro card in 2018 at the Amateur Olympia in Spain where she placed top in her class and won overall. The UK-based athlete is passionate about bodybuilding and has competed in over 20 shows in the past four years. For the love of the sport and her passion to help people seeking guidance and knowledge about living a balanced lifestyle, Phoebe created an online business where she helps them meet their balanced lifestyle goal. He shoots, he scores! It was awesome chatting with the play-by-play sportscaster of DU Pioneer Hockey, Jay Stickney. He has been with DU for 16 years now and takes us through his time starting out to announcing the NCAA championship games in 2004 and 2005 and all of his crazy experiences along the way. Jay also talks about using the secrets of improv to engage his audience, the best and worst hockey towns and his brush with greatness on the set of Diagnosis Murder with Dick Van Dyke. He also gives us spot on impressions of sportscaster greats Keith Jackson, Harry Caray and Marv Albert (hint, Marv comes in at the end). I met Jay from doing improv at Denver's Bovine Metropolis Theatre. In fact, it was Jay's comedic background that got him the job with DU, citing that they wanted someone more like Dennis Miller than just another broadcaster. Sometimes that his humor gets him in trouble with fans though: "One time, four or five DU players were called for penalties at the end of a game and a couple guys had to sit on laps in the penalty box because the box only holds about three players at a time. So I made a joke about there being a lap dance going on in the penalty box. I got a call from an unhappy listener the next day. That was several years ago and I have not had any upset calls since. Maybe no one is listening to me anymore." Jay also spends time helping people find their dream homes, staying amongst the Top 20% Producers among all Denver Metro Realtors.
