Tracey Tee has been actively involved in the mom-o-sphere for over 13 years, first co-creating and staringin the nationally touring cult-hit comedy show for moms: The Pump and Dump Show while simultaneously co-producing Band of Mothers Podcast and serving as co-founder and CEO of The Pump and Dump Show's umbrella brand: Band of MothersMedia. During the pandemic, and during her own journey with psilocybin Tracey began to feel called to support moms in a deeper and more meaningful way. In 2022 she launched an online community and digital micro-dosing courses created exclusively for moms calledM.O.M. which stands for “Moms On Mushrooms.” Tracey's goal is to bring moms together through the sacred use of plant medicine for a shared journey ofpersonal growth and healing. Tracey weaves in a sacred facilitator approach into the M.O.M. ethos, calling on the support of the Sacred Feminine and Sacred Mother Earth to connect women back to themselves through prayer, herbology, grounding, nature and of course plant medicine. Her unique journey of reproductive health issues, infertility, a hysterectomy, and early menopause provides a unique and very deep level of compassion for mothers. This compassion and understanding coupled with a lifetime of learning about women's health and wellness allows her to hold space for moms with health, birth and womb trauma while also offering practical tips for overwhelmed and busy moms to simply feel better in their bodies and embrace a more sustainable and natural approach to physical and spiritual healing.Since it's launch in March 2022 M.O.M. has been featured on NPR (twice) Good Morning America, Today Show, Piers Morgan, Rolling Stone Magazine, Fox News, CBS Saturday Morning, NBC News, Romper Magazine, Café Mom, London Times and The Guardian. And yes: Tracey did appear on Dr. Phil to defendthe right to heal through micro-dosing. Tracey has spoken on panels for Rocky Mountain PBS, at Wonderland Conference, PsyCon Conference, with Micro-dosing Collective and was an invited speaker at the historic MAPS Psychedelic Science 2023 conference in Denver.

In this snack-sized episode of Parenting is a Joke, Ophira Eisenberg is joined again by Tracey Tee—comedian turned founder of Moms on Mushrooms (M.O.M.)—to talk about how microdosing psilocybin became the unexpected tool that helped her feel more present, emotionally resilient, and aligned as a parent. Tracey explains how her past work creating The Pump and Dump Show laid the groundwork for building a mushroom-centered community for moms looking for healing, connection, and alternatives to antidepressants. They discuss the myths around microdosing, the stigma of moms on psychedelics, and why Tracey compares it to a cup of coffee rather than a drug-induced haze. She breaks down how most moms in her community aren't looking to get high—they're looking to feel something again after years of numbing out on SSRIs, exhaustion, and societal expectations. Tracey also explains why mushrooms, unlike wine or wellness trends, actually ask moms to show up for their own healing with intention. The episode ends with Tracey reflecting on the exact moment she knew the mushrooms were working: when she stopped parenting for appearances and started listening to what her daughter actually needed.

Comedian Tracey Tee, co-creator of the hit touring show The Pump and Dump, returns with a whole new mission: helping moms heal with mushrooms. In this episode of Parenting is a Joke, she opens up to Ophira Eisenberg about how her decade-long comedy career and business collapsed overnight during the pandemic, leaving her physically and emotionally unmoored. She shares the long and grueling road she traveled through infertility, stage 4 endometriosis, surgical menopause at 41, and the grief of saying goodbye to her uterus before she ever really got to celebrate becoming a mother. It was only after a traumatic car accident with her daughter that Tracey began to recognize how much plant medicine—specifically microdosing psilocybin—had changed the way she processed stress, anxiety, and fear. The two talk about how the cultural stigma around psychedelics is shifting, especially for mothers who are desperate for support but drowning in shame and exhaustion. Tracey walks us through the wild, unexpected origin of her now-thriving community M.O.M. (Moms on Mushrooms), how a shaman helped her daughter heal faster than traditional therapy, and why she believes we're just beginning to scratch the surface of what mushrooms can do for mothers' mental health. Plus, Tracey reveals the exact moment she knew the mushrooms were working: when she found herself sincerely apologizing to a tree.

In this episode, in celebration of International Women's Day, Victoria interviews Tracey Tee: co-founder and CEO of Band of Mothers Media, co-producer and co-host of the Band of Mothers podcast, and founder of Moms on Mushrooms, an online educational community for psychedelic-curious moms outside the prying eyes of social media. With similar histories of womb trauma, self discovery, and body reconnection, Victoria and Tracey discuss the complications of motherhood, substance use and embracing psychedelics in a broken culture, in which engaging with small, approved coping mechanisms is fine – where the “wine mom” archetype and numbing yourself with medications is celebrated, but where we don't often talk about how challenging motherhood can really be, and the lasting mental, physical, and spiritual impacts of birth, loss, and grief. Tracey's goal with Moms on Mushrooms is to bring mothers together for personal growth, healing, and most of all, for the safe, supportive container that so many women considering plant medicine need. She tells her story of creating and performing “The Pump and Dump Show” and the psychedelic journeys that led her to creating M.O.M., and discusses much more: how those large dose journeys reconnected her with her body; how microdosing has helped her feel more vulnerable, honest, and in tune with her daughter; how psychedelics can help parents realize where problematic core beliefs came from; how teaching children the ways of the world forces parents to confront and reaffirm what they truly believe; and the challenges mothers face in even talking about wanting to try psychedelics. Prior to the pandemic, Tracey Tee's career - as co-creator and co-star of the nationally-touring The Pump and Dump Show - was on fire. But after COVID-19 brought live performance to a halt, for a moment Tracey felt more like a dumpster fire. While Tracey made tough decisions about her future, she began to feel she was either having a spiritual awakening...or losing her mind. The questioning and self-discovery sparked by this stressful and overwhelming time led Tracey to explore plant-based medicine, specifically psilocybin, or "magic mushrooms." Now, she shares what she's learned about microdosing 'shrooms with other moms, through her online course and community, M.O.M. (or, "Moms On Mushrooms.") In this frank and funny conversation, Tracey and Meagan explore pandemic-inspired pivots, the hard truths of midlife motherhood, and just what those magical little mushrooms can do for moms who are ready for something more in their lives. (Hint: It's not about getting high or "tripping", but a much more subtle, introspective experience.) Shayna Ferm started her acting career at The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago and then spent 11 years in NYC doing film and theatre, and producing and performing music, stand-up and sketch comedy. After having a baby in the Big Apple and immediately becoming pregnant with her second child (whoops!), she and her family moved to her hometown of Denver, Colorado. Weeks after baby number two was born, and always in search of a creative project, she and her lifelong friend Tracey Tee launched The Pump and Dump Show, a much-needed "mom's night out” event that quickly grew to a nationally touring production, written, produced and starring Shayna and Tracey. The pair toured for 5 years before replicating the show to star additional casts of new moms and co-founding their umbrella brand, Band of Mothers Media. Her current role in the company, outside of co-hosting the Band of Mothers Podcast, is as Chief Creative Officer for all the branches of the business as well as for the current touring productions. Tracey Tee double majored in Theatre and English at Hillsdale College, and quickly moved to Los Angeles where she worked as an actor, trained in improv comedy with The Groundlings and used her comedic flair as a freelance writer and purveyor of art and handmade goods in LA's burgeoning art scene. After 7 years in LA, Tracey and her husband moved back to her native home of Denver, CO to start a family. Not long after her daughter was born, she dove back into live comedy with her lifelong friend Shayna Ferm as they developed a “parentally incorrect” night out for moms, The Pump and Dump Show. What started in a bar as a creative outlet (and much needed night out) for both quickly grew to a nationally touring production, written, produced and starring Tracey and Shayna. The pair toured for 5 years before replicating the show to star additional casts of new moms and co-founding their umbrella brand, Band of Mothers Media, where Tracey is CEO. She lives with her husband of 19 years, their 10-year-old daughter and recently made the happy mistake of adopting a third dog. Thanks, COVID!
