Editors - Andrew S. Eisen ACE, Terel Gibson ACE and Katheryn Naranjo Hiring editors for SKELETON CREW was akin to casting actors, considering how essential each editor's background and style would be in shaping the series. Kat, for instance, found her mark through her work on STRANGER THINGS which resonated with the show's tone of adventure. Meanwhile, Terrell's experience with Marvel projects like HAWKEYE proved that he would be up to the demands and rigors of a VFX heavy tv series. Finally, Andrew's extensive Star Wars history positioned him as invaluable in guiding the new team. Capturing the right tone was crucial for the editors, as the show combined elements of adventure and comedy with darker themes. Andrew, Kat and Terel discussed the significance of striking a balance, especially when the storyline demanded a shift from lightheartedness to seriousness. Jude Law's transformation from a seemingly rogue character to a complex anti-hero was a key point of focus, with the team ensuring his evolution was believable and engaging. SKELETON CREW, created by Christopher Ford and Jon Watts, takes place in the same time frame as THE MANDALORIAN, post RETURN OF THE JEDI, pre-THE FORCE AWAKENS. It's a coming-of-age story about four kids who make a discovery on their home planet that leads them to getting lost in the galaxy and the adventure to find their way back home. ANDREW S. EISEN, ACE Considering the cinematic approach that Andrew applies to THE MANDALORIAN, THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT and SKELETON CREW, it's no surprise to see his name in the credits of big sci-fi / action films like TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION and THE GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL 2. TEREL GIBSON, ACE Prior to joining the Star Wars universe for SKELETON CREW, Terel dropped by the MCU to cut HAWKEYE. He's also known for his feature work on movies such as CUCKOO (2024), SORRY TO BOTHER YOU (2018), READY OR NOT (2019) and THE FIGHTER (2010). KAT NARANJO Kat started her journey on Season 1 of STRANGER THINGS as an assistant, but over the following seasons started picking up full time editorial duties as well. She also assisted editor Dean Zimmerman ACE on the features, THE ADAM PROJECT and FREE GUY. Earlier in her career, Kat assisted on HALT AND CATCH FIRE and served as post coordinator on ONE TREE HILL. Today on Too Opinionated, we visit with the director of Clawfoot, Michael Day! Michael Day is a writer, director, and producer born in Pittsburgh, PA. While in college, Michael got his start by directing a music video for a then, up-and-coming rapper, WIZ KHALIFA. After college, he immediately immersed himself in the film industry, working on such films as THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, DJANGO UNCHAINED, and TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION, among others. In the feature world, Michael wrote and produced an action trilogy, titled ROGUE WARFARE. The second film in the series ranked #1 it's first week on Netflix. More recently, Michael started producing for Yale Entertainment, including such films as AS THEY MADE US, RARE OBJECTS, and THE KILL ROOM. Producing those films opened the door for Michael to produce and direct his first feature film for Yale, a dark comedy/thriller, CLAWFOOT, starring Francesca Eastwood, Milo Gibson, and Olivia Culpo. CLAWFOOT will be available on major VOD platforms. Michael second feature film, FOG OF WAR, starring John Cusack, Brianna Hildebrand and Jake Abel, will be released in the winter of 2024. Since then, Michael has produced several films that are currently post production: PRETTY THING, a sexual thriller starring Alicia Silverstone and Karl Glusman, directed by Justin Kelly; STRANGLEHOLD, an action comedy featuring Ashley Benson, Jake Lacy, Justin Long, and Ron Pearlman, directed by Clark Duke; and MIDNIGHT, starring Rosario Dawson, Milla Jovovich, and Alexandra Shipp, directed by Joshua Miller. The fourth film in this franchise was directed by Michael Bay but features an entirely new cast that include Mark Wahlberg, Kelsey Grammer, Stanley Tucci, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Li Bingbing, TJ Miller & Sophia Myles. Peter Cullen also returns as the voice of “Optimus Prime” and he also is joined by a new cast that include John Goodman, Ken Watanabe, Mark Ryan, John DiMaggio & Frank Welker. Welker voiced “Megatron” in the 1980s animated series and the 1986 animated film. This film takes place 3 years after the previous film and now the CIA has issued a Black Op mission to wipe out the remaining transformers, both good and bad. Optimus Prime is on run but is found and restored by a crackpot inventor from Texas. The inventor and his family become targets of the CIA while Optimus becomes a target for a Cybertronian bounty hunter. Despite this film being the highest grossing film of the year, it was yet again panned by critics for bland storylines, uninteresting characters and over reliance on big action sequences.

Michael Bay returns to the Transformers Franchise however this time Mark Wahlberg joins him. Its a different direction to the original trilogy and to be fair, as hated as this film is, I actually think it's the best since the first. Some great action, too much slow motion and of course more explosions than any sane person can handle, it's a Transformers film alright. You get what you sign up for and much more.
Can Mark Walhberg teaming up with Transformers be a recipe for success? Take a listen and find out in this action-packed episode you don't want to miss!

Spoilervarning! Se filmen innan du lyssnar på avsnittet. Michael Bay is back and his movie is BIGGER, LONGER and LOUDER. But is TRANSFORMERS AGE OF EXTINCTION as bad as critics say it is? This week Adam and Matt talk Transformers and wax on about critics.
I recently said that Transformers: Age Of Extinction might be the new Citizen Kane. This caused some astonishment but here is what I meant...
[Digital Drift 2014] The Transformers road trip has lost all but one lone, solitary truck, powering on through a new leg of what may be a never-ending journey. Yes folks, I did end up going to see Transformers 4, and on this show, Sharon asks me all about my experience. Is this a new lease of life for the series? A soft reboot, ditching the former human cast members in favour of all-new ones and setting aside awkward frat comedy for the dilemma of a struggling family. [Sounds great.] Still written by Ehren Kruger and now starring Mark Wahlberg [Oh Jesus Christ!]. The autobots are now a hunted, endangered species, thanks to their heroic genocide of their own people in the last movie, done in the name of protecting us humans, with our interminable capacity for greatness. Plus it has the dinobots [No it doesn't]. And Optimus is seriously suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder [Nobody ever mentions it]. Is this better or worse than the first three? Find out right now. I do something with Michael Bay halfway through that will surprise you. Next pit-stop we are rejoined by a full cast as we delve into the best depiction of these bots in any medium, the animated show, Transformers Prime. Even if you haven't seen it, have no immediate interest or don't want it spoiled we still suggest you listen as the depth, subtlety and character focus we describe in detail will surprise and delight you, leaving everyone wondering why that can never be their big screen representation.
