Editors - Andrew S. Eisen ACE, Terel Gibson ACE and Katheryn Naranjo Hiring editors for SKELETON CREW was akin to casting actors, considering how essential each editor's background and style would be in shaping the series. Kat, for instance, found her mark through her work on STRANGER THINGS which resonated with the show's tone of adventure. Meanwhile, Terrell's experience with Marvel projects like HAWKEYE proved that he would be up to the demands and rigors of a VFX heavy tv series. Finally, Andrew's extensive Star Wars history positioned him as invaluable in guiding the new team. Capturing the right tone was crucial for the editors, as the show combined elements of adventure and comedy with darker themes. Andrew, Kat and Terel discussed the significance of striking a balance, especially when the storyline demanded a shift from lightheartedness to seriousness. Jude Law's transformation from a seemingly rogue character to a complex anti-hero was a key point of focus, with the team ensuring his evolution was believable and engaging. SKELETON CREW, created by Christopher Ford and Jon Watts, takes place in the same time frame as THE MANDALORIAN, post RETURN OF THE JEDI, pre-THE FORCE AWAKENS. It's a coming-of-age story about four kids who make a discovery on their home planet that leads them to getting lost in the galaxy and the adventure to find their way back home. ANDREW S. EISEN, ACE Considering the cinematic approach that Andrew applies to THE MANDALORIAN, THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT and SKELETON CREW, it's no surprise to see his name in the credits of big sci-fi / action films like TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION and THE GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL 2. TEREL GIBSON, ACE Prior to joining the Star Wars universe for SKELETON CREW, Terel dropped by the MCU to cut HAWKEYE. He's also known for his feature work on movies such as CUCKOO (2024), SORRY TO BOTHER YOU (2018), READY OR NOT (2019) and THE FIGHTER (2010). KAT NARANJO Kat started her journey on Season 1 of STRANGER THINGS as an assistant, but over the following seasons started picking up full time editorial duties as well. She also assisted editor Dean Zimmerman ACE on the features, THE ADAM PROJECT and FREE GUY. Earlier in her career, Kat assisted on HALT AND CATCH FIRE and served as post coordinator on ONE TREE HILL. The Credits Visit ExtremeMusic for all your production audio needs Listen to Andrew talk about his work on THE MANDALORIAN Season One (Part One and Two) and Season Two, as well as THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT Hear Terel discuss cutting the Marvel series, HAWKEYE Check out Kat's interview for STRANGER THINGS Check out what's new with Avid Media Composer Subscribe to The Rough Cut podcast and never miss an episode Visit The Rough Cut on YouTube

Skeleton Crew foregår mellem Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi og Episode VII: The Force Awakens, og altså i samme tidsperiode som fx The Mandalorian.
WARNING: Do not listen to this episode unless you have seen the 2024-2025 Star Wars release "Skeleton Crew" or do not mind hearing key plot points. Skeleton Crew is the latest entry in the Star Wars universe. It is an 8-episode series streaming on Disney+. Set five years after Return of the Jedi and the same era as the Mandalorian, Ashoka, and Boba Fett shows, it involves a group of four children who accidentally stowaway on a spaceship and leave home. The series is about their journey to come back home, and the plot evolves from there. Jude Law stars in the series with Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, and Nick Frost and is created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford. Watts recently directed the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man trilogy. Filmmaker, owner of the Scum and Villainy Cantina in Hollywood, California, and Star Wars insider JC Reifenberg returns to the podcast. They discuss the charm of this series while the stakes of the plot are not as dire as other entries in the Star Wars timeline. The wildfires in southern California have been devastating.

Today's episode is the culmination of a long search to find a countervailing force: a Buddhist Trump supporter. This search was born out of the Buddhist impulse to find the other side. What is talked about as cultivating non-attachment to views and also called “beginner's mind.” As you will hear, after a lot of searching, we finally found our person. Christopher Ford is a longtime Republican who worked for Trump (albeit indirectly) at the State Department. Ford wrote a pair of fascinating and provocative articles for the Buddhist magazine Lion's Roar. One was entitled, Zen and the Moral Courage of Moderation. The other was called, The Elephant in the Meditation Room. Christopher Ford is a lay chaplain in the Soto tradition of Zen Buddhism. His teacher is Roshi Joan Halifax, who has been on this show a couple of times and is herself a longtime progressive. From January 2018 until January 2021,he served at the state dept as Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Nonproliferation. He's also worked at the National Security Council, and as a congressional staffer. This episode explores:Ford's argument for a Buddhist conservatismFord's experience in the Trump administration and his assessment of our current political stateThe personal tools Ford recommends using in day-to-day life, some of which go right to the issue of not being attached to our views Full Shownotes: https://www.tenpercent.com/podcast-episode/christopher-ford-420See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In which the Mister and Monsters join me in reviewing ROBOT & FRANK (2012) currently streaming on Amazon Prime, as well as other platforms. From a script by Christopher Ford and directed by Jake Schreier, the story follows Frank (heartbreakingly beautifully played by Frank Langella), an older gentleman who is stuck in a time long past and who is set in his ways. His son (James Marsden), Hunter, brings him a robot companion (voiced by Peter Sarsgaard) who is supposed to ease some of the caretaking burden off Hunter. At first resistant, Frank soon warms up to Robot and the two form a lovely friendship that sees them embark in some not so innocent adventures. Liv Tyler and Susan Sarandon round out the cast as daughter, Madison, and Jennifer, the librarian, who we come to find out is more than just Frank's crush. The film is rated PG-13 and clocks in at 1 h 29 m. Please note there are a few SPOILERS in this review. Once or twice a year we do a show all about defensive gun use, as we feel the need to continually prove the main-stream media wrong when it comes to their rhetoric on how dangerous firearms are. Last year over 21 million firearms were purchased and 8.4 million of those were from first time gun owners. If 2020 proved anything, it was that the government wasn't going to save you and it was up to you and you alone to protect yourself - here are some of those stories. Enjoy! 2020 was a hard year. Everyone on the planet felt it's effects but I think it was a good wake up call for Americans as it showed them just how fragile the system really is. Hopefully this spawns a new generation of preppers but for those of us who were prepared, we still learned some valuable lessons and takeaways that we can use going forward - because I think we are going to need it. I think 2020 that was just the beginning. I believe we are in for a decade of hurt, especially if you value freedom over safety. So the lessons learned in 2020 will be needed in the years to come. In today's episode, we share what we learned. Enjoy! Christopher Ford's rise to becoming a highly regarded Hollywood screenwriter is a story within itself. Back in 2010, he was discovered by Eli Roth when Ford along with director Jon Watts (SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING) did a short film as a yarn to get the attention of the famous director. After deciding to produce a film based off the short, the movie CLOWN (2014) was made. That movie jump started the careers of both Watts and Ford. And by 2018, a hidden gem of a film (written by Ford) appeared called THE CLOVEHITCH KILLER. Tyler Burnside (Charlie Plummer) is the perfect high school student. He's in the scouts, is an outstanding member of his church, and has a loving family. One day when he discovers an S&M picture in the family truck, he begins to wonder if his dad is more than the great father that he had thought. Working with his friend Kassi (Madisen Beaty) they begin to travel down a “rabbit hole” that may turn their life and their town upside down. The movie, directed by Duncan Skiles, stars Dylan McDermott in the pivotal role of Tyler's father. With excellent acting, including Samantha Mathis as Tyler's mother, the movie feeds doubts into the thoughts of a young man about his ideal life. What follows is the slow fall of what otherwise was a perfect family. Dark Discussions takes a look at this very interesting film and gives their thoughts.

The United States is often asked what more we can do to reassure the international community that we remain faithful stewards of the disarmament vision articulated in the Preamble and in Article VI of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). If we are to build the kind of disarmament dialogue we need in order to make progress toward that goal in a time of deteriorating global security conditions, it is important not to misdiagnose the problem. Please join us as we debunk the false critiques surrounding the NPT disarmament narrative with Dr. Christopher Ford, Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Nonproliferation. Duncan Skiles grew up in a movie-loving family. He started off making movies with friends and family, before he took a stab at professional films. For this feature, he teamed up with Christopher Ford - hot off the script for ‘Cop Car’ - and they paired up for ‘The Clovehitch Killer.’ The mystery stars Charlie Plummer and Dylan McDermott and exists within the vein of ‘Rear Mirror’ or ‘Disturbia,’ with a twist. The official plot reads, “ A picture-perfect family is shattered when the work of a serial killer hits too close to home. McDermott stars in this chilling portrait of all-American evil.” In this interview, Skiles discusses his love of cinema, the origin story and influences behind ‘Clovehitch,’ making a disturbing movie set in daytime, the necessity of trial and error, moving from over-the-top to reserved works, and creating outcasts in film.
