We're live from Titleist & FootJoy HQ and we start todays show with a story from Mark about the Australian Open Stonehaven Cup that Peter Lonard won at Moonah Links, and how the Cup was 'lost' for a number of months. Mark is convinced the story is accurate, but Nick and Third Man feel it sounds so unbelievable that we feel that it needs to be checked. So we drop a message to the former Australian golf boss Andrew Langford-Jones to give us a call and confirm or deny. Hopefully he calls before the end of the show.The Chevron. Nick and Mark describe it as 'mayhem', with the grandstand on the final hole an 'abomination' according to Nick. It resulted in a disaster for Ariya Jutanugarn with her shot ricochetting off the grandstand. Nick watched the whole thing, although the 5-way playoff went for a veeeeeery long time, with slow play an offender again.Nick raises the TIO ruling not only in the Chevron, but for the Hoygard twins in the PGA teams event in New Orleans. We discuss poor grandstand placement, which happens around the world, and Mark says it has to be better.Mark raises the LIV ratings from Florida which have been released and were soft. He is keen to have a look at how Mexico's LIV ratings go, given it was up against one of the great Womens PGA events, and what he describes as a pretty ordinary Mens team event in New Orleans, that he found difficult to watch. The world feed comes up (again) and, again, Nick and Mark unimpressed and they play some audio from Trevor Immelman analysing Justin Thomas' swing, illustrating what we are missing out on due to receiving the world feed.Mark says the Korn Ferry tour cut this was crazy - a 9 under cut and 30 under won the event. A big part of Luca's develop was being in the presence of the great man himself Ernie Els who specifically took him in at the age of 14 through the Els Foundation which funded Luca's Junior & Amateur career until just before turning pro in 2020 Luca mentions how accommodating Ernie was with him. Now a part of the GolfRSA brand owned by Dunhill owner Johann Rupert we see how some of the best talents in South Africa have won at all levels in the last 5 years. As a Junior Luca Filippi would be selected for 2017 Junior Presidents Cup side captained by Trevor Immelman alongside close friends Jayden Schaper & Garrick Higgo as well as the enigmatic Christo Lamprecht! Luca would also play big events such as 2017 Junior World Cup in Japan for South Africa, 2017 Junior Players' Champs, British Amateur 3 times (17',18',19) and would win the iconic South African Amateur Champs in 2019.  Luca turned pro in 2020 & takes us through some of the toughest times of his life in that year starting out on Sunshine Tour before the world shut off for Covid. 2022 would be better with a highest finish of 2nd at Blue Label Challenge the week after his mother was in hospital so it was very emotional. In 2023 Luca would have a whole host of Top 10 finishes on Sunshine Tour with persistence finally paying off alongside good friend Ryan van Velzen at Bain's Whisky Ubunye Champs pairs tournament which resulted in Luca's 1st pro title then would go on to win 2023 Blue Label Challenge for his 2nd not long after. A genuinely brilliant guy with the talent to really compete at a higher level. This delayed Wednesday episode begins with some big changes proposed to the PGA Tour's structure, namely trimming some of the fat with their status scheme. There are, once again, tweaks proposed for the playoffs and a three-event cash grab tour in the fall. Andy and Brendan discuss all these proposals, how they might work, and if they will matter in the fight against LIV. Stick around for the ad read on this one as well, as they might get in trouble. One name defecting to LIV is Brooks Koepka, and his decision is panned in light of his recent statements. There's also significant room allotted to Nick Faldo stepping away and Trevor Immelman stepping in at CBS. Shhhhedule for the week focuses on a logjam of major golf, starting with the Women's PGA at Congressional, which should show beautifully. The Travelers, Senior Open, and BMW Euro event are also discussed with varying degrees of amusements at the fields.
