A big pod today, and we start by chatting about Nelly Korda's big win at The Chevron, and it was a clinic, she won by a mile in a dominant display. Mark is amazed that she's only won the 3 majors, it felt like more. As good as Nelly's win was, the crowds and viewership was light, and Mark saw a tweet from Tour Pro Meghan MacLaren who posed the question as to why the interest was down, what is missing? Nick and Mark are huge fans of the women's game and have been for a long time, however we discuss the tweet and kick around what some issues may be.If we were to 'blow up' the women's major structure, what would you do? Mark says Shadow Creek is a no-brainer, and Nick would love to see a Women's Masters type even at Cypress saying it would be huge. Nick and Mark discuss if The Chevron itself is the issue. A good, perhaps not amazing, course. A major named after the sponsor. Nick says it doesn't have the feel of a major. For Hostplus, Mark awards Nelly Korda our 'That's a Plus' for golf, but not for winning the tournament, for something else. And we read a message from wolfpacker David who noticed something interesting on Nellys kit, Mark asks Grok to clarify. For once, Grok works. Marks 50 bucks paying off. What about Matt and Alex Fitzpatrick. What a story. It was a great win, and wonderful to see Alex get some just rewards following the win. We look at where their rankings are on the Find My Player app, if you haven't seen it, we love it. Follow any player on any tour in seconds. Download Find My Player from the App Store or Google Play. And for BMW, Matt Fitzpatrick gets our Touch of Class this week (how many is that!!!).We discuss the LIV news from the last 24-hours which will see a gap in the schedule of 6-weeks, with Louisiana now postponed. What does it mean (if anything). Mark's source, who he spoke to a couple of days ago, has given Mark some very interesting information about the reason why LIV may be slowing slightly - it has something to do with what is going on in Iran. Mark explains. And we talk about the appointment of Jim Furyk as US Ryder Cup captain. After the turn, for Betr, Mark lists the Top 5 courses in the world that would guarantee increased eyeballs were they to host women's majors. Love your thoughts on whether he's nailed it, or missed something.Plenty of action around the world in the PING Globals, Nick runs us through everything, and for Southern Golf Club, lots of feedback today: we start with the PGA cancelling a couple of events and whether this is an opportunity for Australasia to swoop in, Riley has a theory on Min Woo Lee at The Masters, Martin has a question about inconsistent ball striking, Mark has a view on the potential of returning LIV players, John agrees with Nick and Mark from last week that LIV is unsustainable but adds that the PGA's response to LIV has equally been unsustainable. We discuss. Then a couple of whacks. Laurie says that Nick and Mark are 'cheering for the death of LIV'. The boys respond. And Duane says that we're 'berks who are banging on with rubbish'. We respond, and also pay tribute to Duane's use of the word 'berks', and Nick, Mark and Dan kick around some of our favourite insulting words. You might have some to add! (Keep it clean though.....).And Sam wants to know how would LIV working with national opens even work, and why would the players do it?And for the Golf Clearance Outlet a great masterclass from Nick today, on chipping with your left hand low. We're live from Titleist and FootJoy HQ thanks to our great partners:Hostplus, Talk Birdie To Me's official retirement partnerBMW, luxury and comfort for the 19th hole;Titleist, the #1 ball in golf;FootJoy, the #1 shoe and glove in golf;PING will help you play your best;Golf Clearance Outlet, they beat everyone's prices;Betr, the fastest and easiest betting app in Australia; And Southern Golf Club. Masters Review this week, and we start of course by discussing Rory. Where does he sit in the pantheon of Mens Golf? Mark saw a tweet from Flushing It that he reads through which outlines his wins beautifully. Is he the best European golfer in history? Nick and Mark discuss, and list the other Europeans who would be in the discussion.Rory was brilliant, but he had a couple of wobbles on Saturday, we chat about some of the players who were coming for him - Cameron Young and Justin Rose in particular. We talk about the influence the great man, Jack, may have had on Rory's approach.Mark says that of all the majors, Augusta is the 'choke' venue, and explains why. Which is one reason why Rory played the venue for 2-3 weeks prior, he explains why, we play the audio, where Rory also outlines Tom Watson's advice to him on how to play Augusta.Nick says Scheffler made the greatest Birdie he has ever seen on the 15th hole, and talks us through it.Our Betr multi was looking a shot early on Sunday when Ludvig got off to a good start, unfortunately he fell away.Nick and Mark discuss the LIV players performance in The Masters, particularly Bryson and Rahm, who played poorly. And we look at the Aussies - Cameron Smith, and Min Woo Lee - both had a tournament to forget. Nick gives some thoughts on where Min Woo's game went wrong. For Hostplus, our That's a Plus for golf was Jason Day's performance, he was in the hunt and playing well. Almost an 'anti plus' was Sergio Garcia's tantrum which Nick and Mark refer to as child like, Nick says he definitely would have received a warning.BMW Touch of Class this week goes to Phil Mickelson for his gracious congratulations to Rory on the win, despite the history the pair have. After the Turn, we give a shout out to our friends at Te Arai in New Zealand who had a nasty fire at the weekend which burned down one of the restaurants. Clearly they need a Switchstar installed. Check them here.Marks Top 5 for Betr is the Top 5 'choke' holes at Augusta. The PING Globals is nearly all Masters, plus a Japanese tournament. Feedback is all Masters, comments and questions on Rory, Rory's caddy Harry, Sergio, Min Woo, Bird Noises, Commentary, and Broadcast coverage. And Nick's masterclass today for the Golf Clearance Outlet is on committing when you're hitting on a slope. When Rory McIlroy won the 2025 Masters you sensed that a weight lifted off his shoulders, this year he's returning to Augusta looking to go back-to-back. It won't be easy, players like Bryson DeChambeau and two-time champion Scottie Scheffler will no doubt be in the mix. As for the Australians Min Woo Lee goes in as the highest ranked hope and The Chef will be hoping he can cook at Augusta. Featured: Mick Warner, journalist, NewsCorp. Another massive pod today, we start with Mark reviewing Huntingdale, he played it at the weekend. Does it play as good as it looks? He tells us.And then. Gary Woodland. What a performance, what a story, and what emotion. A fantastic and very popular win in Texas, nobody deserved this more. Nick and Mark discuss his performance and how he has come to this point. We listen to/watch the winning putt, and hear some of the post win interview. Are challenging pin placements late in a round good or bad for golf? That might depend on whether you're playing or watching. Certainly Karl Vilips might have some strong views after he ping-ponged across the green at the weekend. Nick and Mark give us their thoughts.Tiger. We have to discuss Tiger. And we do. The BMW Touch of Class this week goes to Min Woo Lee after his extraordinary bunker shot at the weekend. And we award the Hostplus 'Thats a Plus' for golf to, who else, Gary Woodland. 7 Mile Beach. Nick and Mark have heard contrasting reviews - some love it, some feel it's very tough, maybe too tough. We discuss the reviews. After the turn, for Betr, Mark lists his Top 5 'gotcha holes', those holes that lull you into a false sense of security and you think you've got them, but then BAM they nail you.Nick takes us around the world in the PING Global Results. And in feedback for Southern Golf Club, plenty of whacks....some for one member of the team for something on last weeks pod, some for the entire team after something different on last weeks pod. And Mark reads out a text from a Tour Pro who listened to last weeks show where we discussed the Monday Q story on the player suspended for cheating, and makes some WILD accusations. We wrap the show with a masterclass from Nick - he calls this a 'combination masterclass', and it's a ripper. Welcome back to Golf's Preeminent Victory Monday Podcast! Andy and Brendan went LIVE on YouTube for this recording, with Brendan calling it a Victory Monday for everyone in the golf world after Gary Woodland's win in Houston. Andy is celebrating a Victory Monday for other reasons as the Fighting Illini are Final Four bound for the first time in 21 years. After some technical hiccups and debate about whether Andy is headed to Indianapolis ahead of the Masters, the two recap an emotional win for Gary Woodland at the Texas Children's Houston Open. The 2019 U.S. Open winner blitzed the field, winning by five shots at the conclusion of Sunday's round and setting the new scoring record for the tournament. Brendan declares Woodland's win the "Story of the Year" given the context surrounding his struggles with PTSD following brain surgery. Andy gives Woodland praise for going public with his diagnosis and commends him on helping not only himself but others in doing so. The two also discuss standout performances from Min Woo Lee, Johnny Keefer, Chris Gotterup, and Sudarshan Yellamaraju. Brendan shares some Substantiated Rumors from the Indian Open at DLF, where it seems as if the DP World Tour may be faking weather reports in order to ensure a fair course setup. Alex Fitzpatrick secured his first win on the DP World Tour, joining his brother, Matt, in the winner's circle following last week's Valspar Championship. In other results, the LPGA has its first repeat winner of 2026, Stew Cink is coming for a playing Ryder Cup captaincy, and the "Davis Zone" has hit the Korn Ferry Tour. Things wrap up with some news about the new player facilities at Augusta National and a brief bit of Tiger Woods discussion as more comes out about Friday's car accident and his ensuing arrest for DUI.
Welcome to Birdie Little Secrets, where Kassidy and Sydney are spilling the tee, unfiltered and just a little bit chaotic. This week, the TOUR's most colorful stop delivered everything: redemption arcs, total meltdowns, and behind-the-scenes drama that had players (and officials) on edge. Fresh off a tough loss, Matt Fitzpatrick flips the script in a big way but not without some tension along the way. Meanwhile, Sunday brought the heat as Sungjae Im's near-lock turned into a shocking spiral, and Brandt Snedeker had fans believing in a fairytale comeback that almost happened. And yes… there's one player the girls think needs to add a very important piece to his team (hint: it's not a new club). Then, things get even better with special guest Julia Johnson, who's doing what most golfers only dream of, competing at a high level and calling the shots on the mic. From her dominant Ole Miss days to life on tour and stepping into the broadcast world, she's got stories, insight, and a perspective you don't hear every day. Oh… and the TOUR is heading to Texas, Min Woo Lee is still that guy, and Scottie Scheffler has everyone on baby watch. It's fun, it's a little messy, and it definitely doesn't stay between the lines. Tune in… because not all secrets are meant to stay quiet. Follow us on Instagram and Tiktok @birdielittlesecretspod

Anthony Kim completed a stunning career comeback this weekend as he bested Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau by firing a final round 63 to win going away at LIV Adelaide. For Kim it was his first win since 2010 on the PGA Tour and was a heartwarming story of overcoming injury, addiction and other things he has been battling. He showed the swagger we all remembered as he poured in put after put to win. On the PGA Tour, Collin Morikawa made a final hole birdie to hold off Min Woo Lee to win the AT&T Pebble Beach by a shot. World number one, Scottie Scheffler, made a Sunday charge but came up a few shots short. We will give our reactions to both events this week on the Break80 Podcast. This will be fun. Today we're hosting superstar golf coach Ritchie Smith for Hostplus, and boy oh boy do we have a bit to talk with him about.Ritchie is unquestionably the leading golf coach in Australia, and you can make a compelling argument that he is the leading coach in the world. His stable of players include (among others) Min Woo Lee, Minjee Lee, Hannah Green, David Micheluzzi, Yuka Saso. Nick O'Hern and Mark Allen start by finding out how Ritchie got into golf, he started as a player, and he was a good one, but transitioned into coaching quite early. We find out about how he selects which players he will work with, the criteria that he has, and how he finds them or how they are brought to his attention. There is quite the process and quite a checklist, Ritchie explains why this is so important to him. One of the attributes is that he only works with players who are prepared to be 'vulnerable', and he tells us why this is a non-negotiable for him.Ritchie coaches Ryan Peake who has had some well documented challenges, of his own making, and Ritchie discusses the background, how they reconnected, and how he helped Ryan integrate back into golf after some years away following his incarceration.Hannah Green is one of Ritchie's most successful golfers, he describes her as 'the prototype of what I'd like my golfers to be'. He explains how he identified her as a kid, her development in the shadow of a couple of bigger names, and more recently how Hannah and he have completely rebuilt her swing. He explains how and why, and the results. Ritchie started working with Minjee as a 12-year old when he, in his words, 'didn't know what I was doing', clearly he does now! He talks us through Minjee's putting issues, why they changed to the long putter, and the results. He also coaches Min Woo and we're interested in his insights into coaching him, and particularly the work they are doing on Min Woo's iron play. Ritchie says that ''his iron play (was) poor", and he explains how they have been fixing it to ensure that aspect of his game is stronger. And he explains why he got 'cranky' with Min Woo at the Cognizant Classic, what he said to him, and what he had him change....and what happened as a result.David Micheluzzi has just come on board to be coached by Ritchie, and he explains to us what they are working on, and the theory Micheluzzi had on his swing that Ritchie needed to disprove for their work together to be successful. And we finish by finding out what comes after golf for Ritchie, what are his plans and dreams when he gives golf away!A fascinating chat with arguably the worlds best golf coach, thanks to Hostplus it was great to host Ritchie Smith on Talk Birdie To Me. We're live from Titleist and FootJoy HQ thanks to our great partners:BMW, luxury and comfort for the 19th hole;Titleist, the #1 ball in golf;FootJoy, the #1 shoe and glove in golf;PING will help you play your best;Golf Clearance Outlet, they beat everyone's prices;Betr, the fastest and easiest betting app in Australia; And watchMynumbers and Southern Golf Club. The boys talk to professional golfer Min Woo Lee about his golf journey and the origin story of the legend behind the "Let Him Cook" meme.
What a weekend......The Australian Open was sensational, and we are going to spend the next hour reliving it.Mark is in Queensland with the family, Nick and Dan at Titleist and FootJoy HQ in Melbourne, so the show sounds a tad different today. Onto the AO. Nick and Mark loved it. The Australian Open is back, and it was an event that everyone involved, and golf fans broadly, should be very proud of. Mark says last years Open was a 2/10 rating, this years was an 8/10, and he has a Top 5 later in the show of things that could get it to a 10/10 in his view. The big one being the date, it is a challenging date with the South African event and the Bahamas event on at the weekend attracting a lot of big name players. That said, Mark says on TV those two looked second-rate compared to The Australian Open. Changing the date is a no-brainer says Mark.Nick notes that each of the 4 days had completely different weather which made the event challenging but exciting, and he loved the Sunday pin placements...he also said that he was 'sweating bullets' on friday when Rory was sailing a little close to the cutline. But that finish. In fact the 17th and 18th holes. Extraordinary. We analyse what happened, how Rasmus and Cam played the holes. The pressure was huge and Rasmus came out on top obviously.Nick talks about some of the older players who played, and he loved it. And some players who missed the cut who really shouldn't have. How about Min Woo Lee's Open, a tough sunday according ti Nick, and Mark says can you imagine if Adam Scott's putting was more consistent what might happen. Then, Mark makes a big call about the BMW Australian PGA Tournament saying it needs to be moved out of Queensland. He explains why.The BMW Touch of Class today is Richard Forsyth and his team at Royal Melbourne for the incredible job they did getting the course into the shape it was in, it looked magnificent and considering how it was only a few months ago, Mark says that they are well deserving of the Touch of Class award. Speaking of BMW, Nick bumped into his good mate Wolfgang, the former boss of BMW Australia, now in Germany, and a huge supporter of golf in Australia. The Top 5 for Betr....Marks Top 5 things to get The Australian Open to the next level, including a red hot crack at the commentary....which is a little awkward given Nick is one of the commentators. And for Hostplus, each week we look at what is a plus for golf - today, the running of the event by Golf Australia in how they handled a monster crowd over the week, the number of kids roaming around Royal Melbourne, and Mark adds a final one involving Nick O'Hern.PING Globals, well there was plenty of golf on aside from the Australian Open, and Nick runs us through all the results that matter. Next week on the show we'll have two particular results of interest, firstly the Cathedral Invitational, and secondly the Vic PGA Pro Am in which our mate Snowy from FootJoy is defending his title in, and our Talk Birdie Wolfpacker Darren from Toowoomba will be playing in. Can't wait! For Southern Golf Club, feedback this week is all about The Australian Open, and we have a voicemail from Michael in Hobart who has a question about the AO and a Tour Pro who he says 'made a dick move', and wants Nick and Marks thoughts. After last weeks masterclass, for watchMynumbers, from Mark was branded the 'laziest masterclass we've done', Nick says he is doing a lazy one - although it turns out to be excellent. Nick talks about handling pressure at key points, Ala Cam and Rasmus. With the 36-year-old contesting the Australian Open at Royal Melbourne there is a sense the centre of the golfing universe residing in Victoria this week. Mark said a few months ago that it would need a 'minor miracle' to be ready in time....he gives his verdict on whether that miracle has occurred or not on the pod today.Nick played with Shane Joel, who is Min Woo Lee's caddy, and throughout the day they discussed Min Woo's game, how he might play certain holes, and how far his carry is with his Driver, Mini Driver, and 4 Iron....and Nick and Mark chat about the clubs that Min Woo and Rory McIlroy might use of the tee when they play the Royal Melbourne Composite course in the Open. After the turn, we have a chat with the big boss at Golf Clearance Outlet, Sam Colosimo, and he gives us a snapshot of how the stores are going, what stock is working well, and some of the things you can find instore. Much to the dismay of one YouTube commenter, Andy declares this as yet another Victory Monday episode! He's excited about the latest Bears comeback win but instead eggs Brendan and PJ on to discuss the Tank Bowl between the Jets and Browns on Sunday. After a quick recap of the misery at the Meadowlands, Andy and Brendan move into a weekend recap of all things pro golf. "Benny Booms" secured his third win of the calendar year at the World Wide Technology Championship with a 63 on Sunday, moving into the OWGR top ten and bumping Collin Morikawa out. Griffin's breakout 2025 is discussed at length, and Andy and Brendan try to figure out how likely he is to win a major next season. On the DP World Tour, Aaron Rai took down Tommy Fleetwood in a playoff at the HSBC Abu Dhabi to win the first playoff event. Rory McIlroy made things interesting with a 62 on Sunday, falling one shot short of the playoff. Brendan credits Rory for staying in the fight after a season full of wins which may make a random DPWT event seem somewhat meaningless. The rains did NOT bless the LPGA's Toto Japan Classic. Weather caused the final round to be stopped while it was in progress and the tournament reverted back to the 54 hole scores as the final leaderboard. This led to a playoff conducted on a makeshift 130-yard "par 3" that was actually a rain-soaked par 5. Andy pleads with the LPGA's new commissioner to fix the league's recurring issues and maybe consider playing more events in Asia due to great fan turnouts. Min Woo Lee announced that he will be playing on the PGA Tour for 2026, putting to bed any rumors of his departure for a LIV contract. This Dr. Chipinski storyline segues nicely into some TGL talk before NFL Minute rounds out this episode with a new Andy conspiracy about Aaron Rodgers.
This episode was recorded before NFL kickoff on Sunday, so Victory Monday for the Bears and Browns will have to wait. Andy is still licking his wounds from an ugly Illini loss to Indiana on Saturday night and wonders if winning out would still clinch a playoff spot. PJ is in high spirits after a Syracuse win in Death Valley and an early scouting trip to Bethpage on Saturday morning - only for the Jets to ruin everything again. We wrap up College Football Corner and discuss some wonderful coffee golf at the French Open (presented by FedEx) on Sunday. Michael Kim secured his first win since the 2018 John Deere Classic, edging out Elvis Smylie, Min Woo Lee, and Brooks Koepka. With Kim, Lee, and Koepka dropping in on the DP World Tour to great success, Brendan tries to draw some conclusions about where these fall fields stand overseas. Andy makes the case for a potential unification between the PGA Tour and DP World Tour that would have one points list and a stronger fall schedule. The LPGA had yet another unique result to uphold the streak - a cancelation of the tournament in Arkansas after 18 holes! Brendan has PJ share some scuttlebutt from the early merch preview at Bethpage, including some reporting about the famous sign - a favorite of Jason Garrett. In an actual bit of news, Rory McIlroy spoke with The Guardian and took his chance to pop Bryson DeChambeau ahead of a potential match this week. Rory also says he's "more confident" in a win for Europe now than he was when he made his guarantee in 2023. Andy and Brendan answer some listener questions about the Ryder Cup to close things out before traveling to the great state of New York for this week's festivities. Find our full Ryder Cup preview episode here on Wednesday night!
Whiparound Fridays return as Andy and Brendan cover the 2025 NBA Draft, Collin Morikawa's latest media beef, and a massive Cleeks profile in Forbes in this episode. Sports Minute kicks off with some frustration from Andy about the Bulls front office and how they've handled the NBA Draft as of this recording. It was ball-in-hand on Thursday at the Rocket Classic, resulting in the course record being broken by Burly Boy Aldrich Potgieter and Kevin Roy, son of Patirck. Andy's one-and-done pick Min Woo Lee had the early lead with a 63 and followed up his round with some interesting comments to the media. Brendan and Andy discuss why this event at Detroit Golf Club exemplifies the need for a rollback and shine some light on the issues highlighted by Dr. Chipinski. In other Detroit news, Collin Morikawa has another new caddie and some beef with a media member following an article published on Wednesday. The Cleeks have decided to "rebrand" themselves in an effort to become as culturally relevant as Jordan, Ferrari, and the New York Yankees and Cleeks lifer Brendan is loving what he's hearing from his team's new leadership. There's a brief check-in on the U.S. Senior Open before things wrap up with two Golf Advice questions as we hit peak member-guest season. Will Doctor reviews all 95 players at Augusta en route to finalizing card for the 89th playing of the Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club. -Reviewing 4 futures outright tickets -Reviewing 3 picks to win any major in 2025 -Going through all 95 players in the Masters Tournament -Adding 1 outright -1 t20, 1 t30 -2 bets "to make the cut" -1 bet "to miss the cut" -4 72-hole matchups -1 first round matchup -3 round 1 three ball matchups -1 t10 after R1 including an 8.2-unit loss at the Valero Texas Open and a failed 9-1 futures ticket on the Houston Cougars in NCAA basketball. He stresses the importance of reviewing picks, especially amid a losing streak, and outlines the four Masters futures he carries from December: Scottie Scheffler (7-1), Ludwig Aberg (14-1), Sung Jae Im (50-1), and Sepp Straka (100-1), with three additional tickets on Sahith Theegala, Tom Kim, and Davis Thompson to win any major. Scottie Scheffler, coming in as the favorite at +525, is praised for consistent elite performance, including no finishes worse than 25th in six events since returning from a hand injury, and podium finishes in his last four starts. His game, including a best putting performance of the season in Houston, is peaking. Rory McIlroy is faded despite strong wins at Pebble Beach and the Players; Will cites driving accuracy issues and suggests 10-1 would be a fairer line than 7.25-1. Jon Rahm, now on the LIV circuit, enters at 16-1 with recent top-10s but inconsistent putting and chipping. Morikawa is also passed over due to final-round collapses, though Will does back him to top 10 in Round 1. Other fades include Bryson DeChambeau (20-1), Justin Thomas (25-1), and Hideki Matsuyama (35-1), due to poor putting or chipping trends. Conversely, Will is bullish on Robert MacIntyre (60-1), who has recorded three straight top-11 finishes and two strong prior Augusta showings. He places both an outright bet and a matchup on him. Victor Hovland is another targeted play, specifically in a matchup over Cam Smith, following his Valspar win and a confident outlook on his improved short game. Shane Lowry, cited for consistency and solid Augusta history, is backed for a top 20, while Russell Henley earns a top-30 ticket thanks to elevated iron play. Several key quotes add depth. Scottie Scheffler credits Texas's varied conditions for developing his shot-making adaptability. Rory McIlroy reflects on family memories and the beauty of Augusta. Morikawa defends media avoidance, which Will critiques as symptomatic of poor mental preparation. Hovland speaks optimistically about short-game improvements with coach Grant Waite, prompting confidence from Will. Aberg's comments reveal awareness of recent struggles, but he remains committed to routine. Sepp Straka remains a strong value at 100-1 with excellent iron play and driving form. He's bet to beat Sam Burns in a first-round matchup, who is faded due to declining performance. Sung Jae Im's ticket has cratered in value, and Will expresses regret on that pick. Spieth is passed over at 40-1 due to erratic iron play, despite solid chipping and putting. Other noted fades include Tommy Fleetwood, Corey Connors, Cam Smith, Patrick Cantlay, Min Woo Lee, and Brooks Koepka, each due to specific statistical weaknesses in approach, short game, or driving. Later segments analyze lower-ranked players, including positive remarks about Phil Mickelson's resurgence and Charles Schwartzel's sharp form. Will picks Mickelson to make the cut, citing recent LIV success. Keegan Bradley and Akshay Bhatia are also featured in favorable matchups. Will wraps with lineup picks for Masters.com, choosing Scheffler, Patrick Reed, Shane Lowry, Davis Thompson, and Straka. It was an SGS-heavy finish at the Texas Children's Houston Open, where Dr. Chipinski, Min Woo Lee, was grouped with podcast favorites Alejandro Tosti and Ryan Fox in the final round. The Doctor was IN on Sunday, with Min Woo barely holding off a charging Scottie Scheffler and Gary Woodland for his first career PGA Tour win. Andy kicks this episode off with a Victory Monday celebration for PJ, whose hammer came down on the correct player this week in Houston. Brendan and Andy then unpack Tosti's Sunday, a round filled with various run-ins with rules officials and his fellow players. They debate whether the NBC broadcast was too mean to him after repeatedly criticizing his pace-of-play throughout the final stretch. Min Woo gets planety of shine, but his choice to lag putt on both 17 and 18 on Sunday leaves the group wondering if he'll have to give up being Dr. Chipinski moving forward. In Houston Open wrap-up, Brendan and Andy discuss Sami Valimaki tying the course record, Gary Woodland's return to the top of a leaderboard, and Rory McIlroy's new elbow injury he revealed after his top-10 finish. Former Fireball Eugenio Chacarra took down the Hero Indian Open at DLF, securing him a DP World Tour card through 2027 after his departure from LIV at the end of last season. Brendan adds some color from on-the-ground reports at DLF, had only three players finish under par in a weak field for the DP World Tour. On the Champions Tour, Steve Allan won a pro event for the first time in 23 years after getting into the Galleri Classic as an alternate earlier this week. PJ shares some updates from Bob Papa in Champs Tour Minute and alludes to some potential upcoming content with a local Champs Tour legend. In news, Brendan drops that some people inside the moat at PGA Tour HQ are concerned about LIV Miami's broadcast on "Big FOX" this week out-rating the Valero Texas Open. Per request, this episode ends with a short discussion on the new bats in Major League Baseball and how golf can learn from what MLB decides on their legality.

This Friday episode starts with some football whimsy - Andy is pumped about the Bears acquiring two high-priced offensive guards to start their offseason! The whimsy continues into golf talk as Aldrich Potgieter topped his drive into the lake on the sixth hole at Bay Hill, providing a must-see moment for Andy and Brendan on Thursday morning. High winds in Orlando led to a brutal first round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational. TGL stars Max Homa, Cam Young, Min Woo Lee, and Tom Kim were among the many players well over par after round one, leading to questions about whether these players are better suited for the SoFi Dome vs. outdoor golf. Elsewhere in pro golf, Andy shares an unsubstantiated rumor about a PR Open participant who may be playing games with his PGA Tour pension. This episode is mostly news-based as Andy and Brendan discuss recent comments from Rory McIlroy and Jay Monahan surrounding the current state of the PGA Tour. Rory says he isn't sure the PGA Tour "needs" a deal with the PIF at this point, which brings back memories from last year's comments from Jordan Spieth in a similar vein. Jay was interviewed by Eamon Lynch about a potential deal, the Tour's search for a new CEO, and more, with plenty to unpack for Andy and Brendan. Following this lengthy news discussion, Brendan dives into a Flashback about Jerry Heard, a two-time winner of the Florida Citrus Open (now known as the Arnold Palmer Invitational), whose successful pro career was derailed by a lightning strike.
