Are you living a life that feels true to you? When was the last time you stopped to ask yourself what really matters? Are the choices you make every day bringing you closer to the life you want—or taking you further away?In this episode of The Courage To Be™ podcast—a show that explores what it really means to live boldly, make authentic choices, and create a life aligned with your deepest values—we sit down with Nancy Juetten. Nancy is an entrepreneur and visibility expert whose life took an unexpected turn after a breast cancer diagnosis right before the biggest launch of her career. She opens up about how this wake-up call forced her to reevaluate everything: her health, relationships, business, and most importantly, her core values.Nancy shares a powerful anecdote about sitting in a doctor's office, grappling with the reality of her diagnosis, and realizing that the success she'd been chasing didn't align with what truly mattered to her. This moment became the catalyst for her “cake vs. cringe” list, a tool she now uses to identify what lights her up versus what drains her. She also dives into the art of setting boundaries, redefining success beyond external achievements, and the transformative impact of living in alignment with your core values. If you're looking for inspiration on how to realign with what matters most—whether in your personal life, career, or health—this episode will give you both the motivation and practical steps to start today.• Find Nancy Juetten's offerings at www.getknowngetpaid.com/6questions• Download your FREE Think and Grow Rich PDF book, the book that has made millions of millionaires! We're diving deep into one of the most powerful assets you've got—your inner circle! Ever heard that you're the average of the five people you hang out with the most? Well, we're breaking down exactly why that matters and how to level up the relationships that surround you. We're talking about building intentional relationships for success, and I'm here to tell you, the right people can supercharge your journey to greatness. With the science of social influence on our side, we'll look at how your closest connections can shape your mindset, actions, and, ultimately, your results. But it's not just about who's around; it's about knowing the roles they play! Think of it as your personal dream team—some friends are the cheerleaders, pumping you up, while others are like quarterbacks, calling the plays that push you forward. And let's be real; you need those fun friends too—the ones who help you relax, laugh, and bring out the best in you when life gets intense. Not everyone in your circle has to be a hustler, but every single one should add something valuable to the mix. Of course, we're also diving into the tough stuff—how to spot toxic people before they drain your energy and steer you off course. Evaluating your circle might just be the shake-up you need to break old habits and refocus on relationships that actually support your goals. So, if you're ready to level up your connections and make sure your inner circle is greatness-approved, this episode is your playbook! Here are some tips for maintaining those relationships while not driving yourself insane.  WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: What happened to prompt Lori to create this solo episode of the podcastWhy it's important to reach out to our friends from time to time to check-inWhy it's important to extend the same grace to others that we would like when we are slow to respondHow to determine which friendships to keep around and which to avoidInstances where Lori often finds herself being hypocritical in maintaining friendshipsHow leaving messages unread helps Lori remind herself to not leave her friends hangingFAVORITE QUOTE: “Just because they're not responding right now doesn't mean they don't love you and they're not thinking of you, you never know what people have going on in their lives .”   Lori JewettHOW TO GET INVOLVED: Lori Jewett Unscripted is a podcast that uncovers the transformative power of unearthing your inner superpowers.  We're here to explore the incredible benefits that come from digging deep within ourselves.  Uncover hidden strengths and untapped abilities that lie within each and every one of us.  Whether you're seeking personal growth or looking to make a lasting impact on the world, this podcast is your guide to unleashing your inner superhero.  Be sure to catch this and other profound episodes of Lori Jewett Unscripted in Apple Podcasts.

Highlights of Special Episode 384.5 Vince Gabriele, owner of Gabriele Fitness and founder of Fitness Business University and Kiss Marketing "Life Lessons at 45" We spoke about the newsletter he sent out to his mailing list: 50 Nuggets of Advice on my 45th Birthday.  This Month on June 18th I turned 45 years old. When I multiply 45x2…I get 90. If I'm lucky, I'm half way. One of the proudest accomplishments of my life was presenting my kids a book that held 365 pieces of life advice. It was 50,000 words that took me a full year to create. I've decided to do a mini version for you here about life, business, success, family, marriage, health, marketing and any other random stuff that comes to my mind as I write this.  Some of these I've mastered, others a work in progress… Are You Successful? That's totally dependent on YOUR definition of success. Only your definition of counts. Not your parents, not yours, not anyone on social media. Only Yours. If you don't feel successful it could that you really are, you just haven't created your version.     On Reality. Reality is not the way you wish it was, it's the way it actually is. The farther away from this we get the less power we have to make our lives better. Show me someone out of touch with reality and I'll show you someone struggling with life.  So What? Most problems are very small if we put things in perspective. This is a habit that deserves practice and please borrow my favorite mantra for the perspective habit of SO WHAT?  Health and Money. There's no sense in ruining your health to make more money. The people that do spend all their money trying to get their health back. Many times, it's not enough.  On Happiness. Happiness is not a destination, it's a state of mind that can be achieved right now. Don't be on a journey to be happy. Look around and recognize the love, beauty and great people in your life and it's right there. You can have a great life and not be happy every minute too.  Your Inner Circle. Who you spend time with most will become major influences in your life. It works in both directions.  Free Money For Disciplined People. Save money… every month. Because compound interest is very powerful  Teach this to your children early.  Stretch. If your PR in the deadlift goes down by 4 pounds became if stretching that's a trade to make. As I get older, I need to stretch more…if I don't I feel like garbage.   Leave Thy Mother and Father. The most important person in the world to me is Vanessa (My Wife) My actions didn't always back this up. Today they do.  What matters most for retention. The secret to great retention is a great staff…It's not your programming, your equipment or your member BBQ's. The secret for bad retention is lots of staff turnover.   Marriages Over Time: Mine started rough, has gotten better every year. I can only point to personal growth from both us. The focus on becoming the best version of ourselves has done the trick.      Life Insurance: Get Life Insurance.      Double KB Deadlift>Trap Bar Deadlifts…for guys that write lots of books and have tight hips.      My Favorite Snack. Cinnamon roll protein powder (from my man Jason Derose and GymSupps.org) Greek yogurt with blueberries.     Read This: The Road Less Stupid By Keith Cunningham,…as many times as you can.      Making Money and Keeping Money. These are different. Making a lot of money doesn't mean you'll have a lot.      On Resentment: Resentment is like injecting poison into yourself and expecting the other person to die.       My personal definition of success has 4 components:  Good Physical and Mental Health Great Marriage Great Relationships with my kids and small handful of friends Work I love that makes a difference in the world and pays me in abundance What's yours?      Write everyday…it will likely make you rich.       Nostalgia is very powerful. Watching old school WWE documentaries makes me really happy. Go find what brings you nostalgia and consume it…intelligently, guilt free.      Focus on yourself LESS. The more you focus on you and every negative thought or feeling you have, the more miserable you'll be. Shift the focus to other and be grateful.    Pay Attention. The moment in front of us is most important, learned that from my wonderful wife.      Productivity. The most important part of productivity is knowing the most important things you do…and doing them as much as possible      Time Block. You are insane if you want to be more successful and you don't time block. Here's how it works. Decide to do something important (see 23) than, set a timer, then work on ONLY that important thing till the timer goes off. Very Simple, impossible for most.     On Decision: Your life is just the sum of all the decisions you've made up to this point. This is a skill, you can better at this. It's a wise decision.      If you want to make more money… make more offers  raise your prices  learn things that bring more value to your market       The secret to successful public speaking comes down to these 3 things:  Focus on bringing value to the audience and how you can impact their life, not how you're going to do Great storytelling: tell lots of stories about yourself that will have meaning for your audience  Talking about something you know inside and out        Let it Go. The calmest I've been in my life is when I've let go. The most tense I've ever been is when I'm holding tight.      Fixing Anxiety. You cannot truly fix anxiety if you do not address breathing.      Going to God. Don't just go to God when you need him, go every day.      If you have kids, write them letters. Letters that they will keep. Letters that will be there when you're gone. This means write something good, something worth keeping.      People. If you own a gym, you will never have freedom without learning how to recruit, lead and manage good people      Money Matters. The people that say it does not… don't have any. Become smart about money and by all means make loads of it. But know that money beyond a certain level won't bring more happiness. There's LOTS of miserable rich people.    On Visualization. If you want something, start to visualize it. Make it a daily habit and there's a very good chance you'll get whatever you visualize. 10 minutes a is the ticket to getting what you want. Wake up and do it.      On Walking. When you need ideas, mental clarity or just to dump some stress…WALK. Just start walking and don't stop until you need to. No headphones. Because silence wages war on the negative thoughts in your mind.      Let Them Do It. Let your kids carry their own bag, make their own lunch, turn off their own light and by all means of they struggle, as hard as it is, let them figure it out., They will.      Kids and BJJ. Start your kids in BJJ at a young age. It's been the best thing I've ever done for my 3 kids.      Stand on the Shoulders of Great People. Read biographies of successful people or listen to the founder's podcast      Date Night. Every Week. non-negotiable. You can't afford to say you can't afford it or don't have the time.      You can be jacked and not be healthy…Your blood tells the story of your health on the inside. Get it drawn a few times a year.      Be a Producer. Create and build things that bring value to the world. Write the book, start the business, film the video. Go do stuff.      Proudest Moments= Toughest Times. When I look back the proudest moments were during the shittiest times. Try to remember that in the moment of the shit time, it's hard but is a skill that can be developed.     Workout. Every Damn Day. No exceptions. No Negotiations. No Whining. It will be done.      Find this out. If you don't know what you want, no one can help you. If you don't know…This becomes job number 1.      Environment. Where you work matters a lot. I get much more quality work done at the library than I do at Starbucks.      Steel Trap Retention. In your quest to grow your business never forget that keeping your clients is much easier and cheaper than getting new ones. Build a business where people would never even consider leaving for a competitor.      Run hills. It's good for the heart and makes your calves look jacked. More importantly, everything worthwhile in life is uphill, might as well get some reps.      Be curious. Put serious thinking into why things work, why they don't, why some people are winning, why others are losing, why you have certain thoughts, why you feel certain emotions, options. Meet it all with curiosity and it'll show up very differently.      Fasting. It just makes sense if you want more energy and better health. It's amazing how much better I feel when I fast.  The panda man knows his stuff.      Paycheck People. Look for team members that will fall in love with your vision, culture and values. I hope you are excited for a productive and incredible 2023. This starts with a proper planning. And great planning includes evaluating the people in your life. Today's episode takes us back to one of our earliest episodes: "Your Inner Circle." We need to evaluate the people who are healthy to have close to you, because you are going to need them to build a team who can help you reach your goals. We also want to go back a couple of years to the idea of "Building Your Ladders." There is a tried and true strategy for using the calendar year as a 12 step program for building a ladder and reaching a new level. Take full advantage of the January fresh start and prepare for that first rung!Lastly, in this episode, let's get some really great ideas from Simon Sinek. He did an interview recently concerning how to build a great team. There has to be support when you falter. There has to be trust and people who throw you a party when you fail (in a great way). His instruction at the end will be important in setting up the kind of support that will make 2023 fail safe, so long as God allows!

Most of the time, people tend to shrug off advice from their inner circle of friends — even if it is a really good tip or idea. These are your closest people; people who love you the most. If you refuse to listen to them, you also refuse the possibility to grow phenomenally. You’ll be surprised how knowledgeable and capable your inner circle of people is. ----- Automated Transcription Below: Dean Soto  0:00   Hey, this is Dean Soto — Founder of FreedomInFiveMinutes.com and ProSulum.com. And we're here again with another Freedom In Five Minutes podcast episode. Today's topic is this: You Don't Know More than Those Who are in Your Inner Circle. That and more coming up.    Dean Soto  0:31   Oh, good morning! So the audio in this is going to be a little bit gravelled a little bit garbled.   Dean Soto  0:37   Thank you so much!   Dean Soto  0:40   So, I live in a community where people are super awesome. They flatten out the roads. We have these dirt roads that have asphalt on them. They're like asphalt grindings and literally, people will just do it. And that is pretty dang amazing. Sometimes they'll get potholes and they'll get little little washboards and things like that. People will just come with their tractor and grader and do it. I always try to spot them like 100 bucks or whatever. And they'll flatten out the road. They'll make it nice, amazing, and easy to drive on out of the kindness of their hearts. Basically, it's a pretty cool little community we have here.    Dean Soto  1:26   So all that being said, I was on a call with some of my really close business friends — guy friends — that I have. And it's so it's funny because there are times where I think that I kind of have it all together. I mean, just being honest. I'm gonna be totally honest. But I think I have it all worked out and everything like that. I have the best way of doing stuff and it was cool because this morning — I really just listened this morning more than anything.   Dean Soto  2:08   But as they were talking, they were talking about some of the different diets. They've been going on how they vacation. How they have fun, how they work, who they're hiring, who they need to hire, and what's been their troubles. And as I'm listening, I went from the feeling of "I know so much."   Dean Soto  2:33   I know all this stuff in business, and I'm living the four-hour work month and all this other stuff. And all the way to — "...they do things way better than I do."   Dean Soto  2:44   They're really good at what they do. I really don't even know what the heck I'm doing sometimes.   Dean Soto  2:52       Dean Soto  2:56   Maybe I should just sit and listen. It was cool because some people—  especially when we are new to certain things. We tend to almost be a little bit intimidated by people who know more than we do — even when they're close, I get it. This actually happens more when you're close to somebody.    Dean Soto  3:33   I'm going to roll the window up. So it might sound a little bit different.    Dean Soto  3:37   But this actually happens sometimes even when we're closer to people.   Dean Soto  3:43   Is that when we are given really good advice — I mean really good advice. Because of who they are, it kind of sometimes flies in the face of our view of, well, I should know better than this person or I'm the guy. And for me, I tend to feel like I'm the guy that knows how to work less. Who knows how to outsource and develop systems. Who knows how to do this and that. And so, when somebody gives me an idea. Like, one of my guys held me accountable to creating a webinar, creating the sales page for a webinar, and the entire copy for the webinar. I kept on saying, "Well, I'm going to do my book. I'm going to edit my book." And he's like, "Okay, that's great. What are you going to do this week? You did that? You said, you're going to do that last week? What are you going to do this week?" I said I'm gonna finish my book. He's like, "Well, that's what you said last week. What are you gonna do this week?" I'm like, "You son of a monkey." He totally, totally called me out. And in a good way, because I did not finish what I said I was gonna finish last week. And I will get to that. Now that becomes secondary. My primary is now making sure that I actually get this webinar up and running. I could bring in some cash and so on and so forth.    Dean Soto  5:28   So, my initial reaction is, "Well, it's gonna be more work, you know. I'm the four-hour work month kinda guy. I don't necessarily want to do that." It's so easy to just sit, edit, and use that as an excuse. I could say, you know, "Screw this guy."    Dean Soto  5:48   I could literally just say, you know, "Screw him. He works more than me or whatever." But he's right. You got more work and you got more valuable work. So you got more valuable work done than I did last week for sure. Right? And it's funny. A lot of people get hung up or get hit.   Dean Soto  6:13       Dean Soto  6:18   I don't know what the word is, but they get enamored with the idea of the four-hour work month. Working a lot less, right. When my wife and I went to our marriage counselor. One of the things that he told me that really stuck and resonated with me — and it should resonate with a lot of guys is that in order to keep our house clean, guys are looking good, guys, we tend to be minimalist. We tend to want to just get rid of everything and make it as easy as possible.    Dean Soto  7:01   Not all the guys, you know but a good amount of guys who want to just do that. And that gives us the ability to keep everything neat and clean all the time. Because there's no upkeep. You know, there's nothing to put away because there's really nothing, right? And that's not necessarily the best way to do things. So it's the easy way to do things, but it's not the most beautiful way to do things, I should say. And I know I'm kind of ranting in this particular podcast, but trust me it's going somewhere.    Dean Soto  7:47   So my marriage counselor said that in order to make a beautiful house, yes, you need to clean. But if you stop with just cleaning, it wouldn't be beautiful. It will just be an empty house. Right? And so, you actually have to put beautiful things and create beautiful things to put out there. And that's one of the things that yes, it's a selling point in my webinar. I mean, obviously I'm going to use it because a lot of people are workaholics. I was a workaholic as well. And in some ways I am. So am, I enjoy work. I don't have to — I enjoy working. I enjoy working my hands I enjoy just doing things that some people would find mundane, because they're in a cubicle, right? But work in and of itself.    Dean Soto  8:43   So sorry, working less in and out and of itself is not something that's fulfilling. You get bored really fast, really fast. When you don't have work to do. It's just the nature of things. It's very By nature, you will get bored fast. And so, part of me is like, “Well, yeah, I work less than some of my really close business friends. But they create beauty. They create new things. And while they might work more, I help them to work less. I help them to create systems. I help them to do things that give them the opportunity and the ability to be part of their family.”  Yes, I help all of that. They helped me to keep on track with building, creating, and making energy and building it up. Yeah, developing things that are absolutely beautiful.   Dean Soto  9:54       Dean Soto  10:01   Why is this important? Because especially with family members, especially with spouses, they are able to teach you things about yourself and they're able to teach you about things that they know way more easily than you could. If you just listen, they could help you to grow extremely quickly.   Dean Soto  10:22   And so, what I challenge you to do this week is to listen. I had a hard time listening to my spouse. I had a hard time with my wife when she would give me her feelings on certain deals that I was doing and certain things that I was doing. Had I listened, I would not have wasted two years, maybe even four years. Because I would have grown at a much faster rate. I would have grown at just a phenomenal rate had I listened to her when the time was right and the time when she had those feelings. And so I've learned to listen. If my wife has a really strong feeling about something, I'd stop. And she says, "No." I stopped. If she says, "Yes." I go because I've learned that it is something that I'm not going to be able to learn. It'll take me two years to learn the hard way.    Dean Soto  11:33   Two years to learn the hard way, rather than just listening.   Dean Soto  11:38   And following what she went through some of her feelings of herself. All that being said, I challenge you to listen to the people who are telling you something, don't just say "Oh, yeah. Sounds great." And not do it.    Dean Soto  11:52   Actually listen. Actually do it. You're gonna see that you're gonna have some phenomenal results when you listen to the people who love you and are able to be outside of the whole situation that you might be all right. This has been Dean Soto go check out FreedomInFiveMinutes.com, go check out ProSulum.com    Dean Soto  12:20   Lots of amazing stuff there if you want to automate your business in as little as five minutes a day.
