Listeners of Power Purls Podcast - Knitting, Crochet and Yarn Podcast that love the show mention: kara brings, thank you kara, interested in knitting,My life has been nothing short of incredible over the past 6 months. I made the decision to stop looking outside myself, to stay in my lane and doing some really scary things … that actually turned out to not be so scary after all.Today's episode is one that I'm sharing so I can explain what I did so you might pull a few bits of inspiration out of this for yourself … to step into your own sovereign self to see you're stronger and more resilient that you think. What you'll learn in this episode:How I tore it all down and completely started my business over this summerHow I made space for what was wanting to come inWhen I stripped every bare, I realized I had everything alreadyFinding refuge in the absence of the illusion of what I thought was safe learn what I did during my "summer of reinvention" and how it was a little quirky and unconventional, and how I created “home away from home” at a local campground. I spent my days in our family RV. which became my haven, my refuge. A place to explore, be curious and begin the reinvention process. And asked the big question: Who is that I'm called to serve? As you'll learn, when I flipped the switch to make my transition, what I know for sure is that when you hit on what's right for you, the Universe has one big happy dance.I have a lot of exciting things to share coming in the coming weeks and months, including, a relaunch of this podcast, so that means, there will be a podcast-a-palooza party. Friends … it is time to say “bye for now.”My path is circling back home to my art and love for making pretty things with string. Will there be a podcast about making and creating? Who knows. I'm allowing the muse to take me by the hand and we'll just have to see. What I can say for sure … I love the art of the TALK. So I'll be back. Don't know when or what that will look like yet and I love the mystery of it.“Cultivate not knowing.”-RumiFollowing the path of passion ALWAYS makes the most sense, because it leads to the best things for you, so let that be your compass even if it feels uncertain. Inside the uncertainty is where you find the CERTAINTY. Gaining this clarity is liberating and exciting … and definitely a bit like looking over a cliff about to jump, but I know it's right, and it's time to clear the way and make room for what's coming in, and proceed down this path to wherever it leads. Much love … and I'll see ya soon, Kara

Something emanated overnight which is now the material manifestation of today's podcast episode. I literally had to run from the bed to the mic to capture what you're about to hear … and it all just flowed from the divine. It's about a new workshop - and seriously it's the BEST shit that's come out of me to date. It's what you need, what you want, and it's the reason you are a podcaster, and it's how you create something divine in this world that someone can consume, and walk away from as a different person. This is not a huge giant thing I'm talking about. It's attainable and ez AF, and I want this for you if you're on the sidelines right now.Let's create a podcast that the world needs and is waiting for. If you're sick and tired of hanging out in the shadows, this is your TIME because THIS is what you signed up for: You are a coachYou are someone who is a guide, a steward, a benefactorI signed up for this over 8 years ago, and I had no idea it would take me to this place today — teaching you about how to podcast with purpose. To feed your baby birds. To turn words into wealth. The kind of wealth I'm talking about is the kind that always has starts inside, and then and only then can it become it's equivalent of material wealth in the outer world. YOU get to feel that and be in the abundance starting right now. It's just about sliding the door. Making a 1% tweak in your thinking. There's no waiting, or wishing. As I record this, tomorrow I'm hosting a free Podcast in ONE Day live workshop. I'm commited to getting as many coaches behnid the mic as possible — now more than ever. Women's voices need to be heard. We need to rise together. We need to be those lighthouses, those beacons. There's a reason I'm a Projector according to Human Design. Makes sense to me that podcasting is my jam. I can't keep my mouth shut, and if for whatever reason if I do keep my mouth shut when I need to be heard - is squashes my spirit. I'm here to be that lighthouse so you can shine your light too. This class is going to open up with us hanging out Brady Bunch-style in a Zoom room. I want you to turn on your video, say hi, share a burning question. Be present and ready to make this transformational journey, because it's going to happen fast. It's going to be something you have to get of your own way for, because it's an easy process that you''ll start implemnting as soon as we are done. It's not about watching the class, doing a little research, and planning for later, NOPE. You are ready to do the work.It will be me showing you how to use the simplest of tools that you presently have which is how I started - a phone and your mouth. I'm going to show you how I used just these 2 things to create an amazing experience for my listeners, and within a month a best-selling author reached out to ask to be a guest on my show — show's you don't need bells or whistles, or intros or outros. So it's these 2 things + the teeny, tiniest production studio you ever saw. I'm going to show you how I produce each of my episodes in literally 30 seconds, and I have a templated way of doing this which I created, and I'll also share what that is. So this is what it means to podcast with purpose, emanate the divine, create alchemy with words, cast spells with speech. Join me for this LIVE class happening Wednesday, June 29th at 2pm ET. yourpodcastinoneday.com
Lot's of people want the HOW TO podcast stuff, and that's super-simple, because I can teach you that in 20 minutes. The collection of things- the mic, the software, the show notes pages. What actually matters is your compelling reason for wanting to do it. That's when it gets to be fun ... when you relax. Take a chill pill. That's when you see things grow. The podcast is a vehicle where ideas can be shared in an intimate way and communicate in a way that build trust, share your gift of gab and influence those you want to reach, who need your message. So the podcast is just that. The vehicle. When you water the garden, your plants grow, but those plants take time. Your podcast is the same. Rushing doesn't EVER work, and never produces what you truly desire. Pushing and wanting and wishing only creates more agony, and stifles growth. It's like you sending out a vibe to the universe that says ... "I'm tight, I'm closed, so ... no thanks, I don't want abundance over here. Just keep giving me the measly scraps." Why I do this podcasting thing ... to inspire you to BE your purpose, build legacy, keep going when it feels chore-like, AND say bye-bye to your podfade brain that wants to stop. When you embrace the true chillax, something MAGICAL happens ... you make it fun, you let go of expectation, you just focus on the art and alchemy of the spoken word. Would you podcast no matter what? Would you do it if it had nothing to do with your business, or a desire to build a platform to attract listeners and clients? Would you do it for the love of giving, sharing, impacting? If you answered YES, you're on the right track. That's the secret sauce to keeping it going. That's what I help my clients develop and cultivate. That's the stuff I believe is the essence of podcasting. It's not getting the checklist. It's not the collection of equipment or tech. It's a higher-level consciousness thing. That's how to chill out and grow. Then your peeps flock to you like cray.I know you want to focus on feeding your baby birds, sharing the juicy messages, creating the legacy, excitement, and creating a real asset in your business ... a content foundation that you own. That's exactly what a podcast provides, unlike social media. Put out a post ... it hangs out in the feed for a bit, but a podcast lives on, and you own it.In my Your Podcast in ONE Day program, I put alllllll the moving parts together ... your show art, intro and outro, show description. I get it out there on the players ... and I produce your first 3 months of episodes. WHAAAT? You just slide into the driver's seat of your shiny new show, press record and GO!Check it all out at: yourpodcastinoneday.com
Let's cut right to the chase …You want to create a podcast that will grow. These are the 3 things you must do: Be a guest on other podcasts Have guests on your podcast Be the one who COMMITSSounds simple, right? But I find that many are unwilling to be the person who does these and then they wonder why they don't grow. If you are willing to be committed AF, listeners will flock to you crazy AF. And #3 is the rocket fuel that will carry you because just this ONE thing will help you grow because you're here for the long game NO MATTER how long it takes. That's what it means to be the uncommon person who commits and creates creates PREDICTABILITY in their business. If you took these 3 things to heart and became that uncommon person, that you know you already are, how would that change how you show up as a Podcaster? You already know that just a 1% tweak is all you need to be that person who goes all-in … who burns the boats because they are headed to the other shore. So here's your choice:Option 1: Be the one who sits on the sidelines who does not decide to commit, and finds excuses to stop. OR …Option 2: Be the one who is dialed and ready because the desire to commit is BIGGER than your reasons to give up.Get out of your own way, step into your potential and create alchemy with your words.

If you're making it hard to stay consistent, then today's episode is for you! I'm teaching you in this short and sweet minisode how to get a little scrappy, practice integration, while staying consistent to your commitment to podcasting. This episode is for you if …You keep pushing yourself to batch a bunch of episodes, but you keep letting yourself down, then the shame kicks inYou can't finish what you say you'll doPodcasting feels hard and like a choreThis episode is an example of how I get scrappy - I was falling behind this week, and when this happens I ask myself a simple series of questions:What's happening right now? Is this something I can share to make an impact even if it seems mundane and silly? How can I make this ridiculously easy and doable? What can I do to get scrappy, practice integration with things in my daily life (ie: gardening, shuffling the kids to baseball practice, and recording your podcast … heck, I've recorded a quickie episode in the car while my son was practicing. Ya do what ya gotta do!)Stop getting in your own way and sabotaging yourself. Make it easy by allowing it to be fun, scrappy and unconventional. I promise you'll love podcasting even more. Our best work often happens when we are not sitting behind a desk. It happens during those times where we are open to receiving because we are relaxed — walking, driving, gardening, or sitting out on the deck on a gorgeous spring day. What's EASY IS working hard on your dream AND resting so you can allow space for the universe to bring in the abundance that's waiting. It's a YES/AND situation. Yes, I can do what's easy AND I can work as hard AF on your dream too. WHERE is it written that business ... that if you do A you get B? What if you do A your way ... then B finds it's way to you in the way that fits your own unique life, and NOT in the way you expect?Where can you find the middle path? Meaning, how can you take in advice with a grain of salt, then OWN your wisdom. How can you cultivate not knowing and be TOTALLY OK with it? AND ... be ecstatic about the truth that you have a live-in advisor that is so freaking wise — YOU.No one can know what's right for you but you and until you embrace this truth you will constantly seek external validation which never gives you the results you actually want.== I'm hosting a LIVE Workshop Series: Magnify Your Message: Jumpstart a Podcast in 3 Easy Steps, especially created for life coaches who are ready to grow and prosper through the power of a podcast and easily reach the people who need them, instead of wasting precious time going down tech rabbit holes.Request access to my free Community so you can join me each week: www.karagottwarner.com/podcastnow GROW your life coaching business through the power of podcasting! I hated the word "mid-life woman" I would secretly think I'm not like them ... I've never had problems hot flashes, weight gain ... I mean geez ... I beat obesity when I was a teenager. My lifestyle is simply impeccable, but … I had a wake up call that I want to share with you in this episode. Since B.C. (Before COVID) I've been in denial ... of my exhaustion, racing mind in the middle of the night ... sleep deprivation ... lack of constant physical energy that has been present over the past few years. I blamed it on building my business. “This is normal,” I would tell myself. “I'm doing something uncommon … it's what I signed up for, right?” I knew something was off. It started with brain fog ... feeling isolated, tiredness, exhaustion. I was blaming it on hustle, busy syndrome, and telling myself it's all in my head ... and I just had to work more on my beliefs. “Stay positive … you got this!” was my mantra. It's like … wondering why the sink is overflowing, but I didn't realize I needed to turn off the faucet! Thoughts are not the only part of the puzzle of our complex humanity. When starting a podcast, or going after a big goal, we think it's all about our thoughts, and we just have to believe an intentional one to succeed, but that's short-sighted.When our physiology is off our brain is off.-Dr. Mindy Pelz And if you are pre-menopausal or post-meno woman like me, this is like the elephant in the room. You may not even see that your brain has been hijacked by your hormones. It's NOT JUST IN YOUR HEAD. As you'll hear in this episode, I'm on a mission to call every woman that feels that something is “off,” to STOP the shame game. Thoughts are only part of the equation. ==Are you ready to take your podcast to the next level? Spontaneity can be your biggest podcasting ally. Strategy is amazing ... but without spontaneity you could easily find yourself hustling, and stuck in a box.Without spontaneity you squash creativity and the unknown and the unknown is where the wonder is. Spontaneity creates freedom, allowing the breakthroughs to inspire you to jump behind that mic and share. When you have the moment when the creativity is swirling in the ether, harness it, bottle it up ... that's the magic.Don't box yourself in and say: "maybe later, 'cause it's not the time for that ... I gotta do that IG post."Don't miss out on the magnificence of the moment, and the fleeting gift that spontaneity is giving you.You write the rules of your podcast and your business. Podcasting is still the Wild West and you're the creator of it.Change lives with your words.Don't keep them inside when they are asking to come out.==Are you ready to take your podcast to the next level? It's fun to have structure, but it's also fun to be spontaneous and capture the creativity in the ether, which is exactly what this outdoor, rustic episode with chirping birdies in the background episode is all about. I'm always going encourage you to take risks and allow spontaneity to arise … to be off-the-cuff and go fast and loose. Just turn on the mic and go!What's the worst that could happen? Oprah once said “I will no longer be on TV but I will use it as a force for good and not be used by TV. When Oprah made this shift, it changed everything. How can you take this wisdom and apply it to your podcast? In this episode, learn 3 ways how.One day, not too long ago, I had a big ugly cry, and looking back now, I can't even remember why I was upset. It's so interesting to see how emotions can carry us away, and then dissipate and fly away once they wash through us. The gift that came out of this big ugly cry were rough notes, which are the basis of this episode. The question Oprah asks herself when disappointment or confusion strikes is: “what is this here to teach me?" Asking this question can be so revealing, because we often discover it's not the "stuff" ... not the static circumstance outside. It's way more subtle actually. Most of our problems circle back to trying to show us how to practice more patience, more love, more giving, more compassion. Solving inner obstacles always solves outer obstacles. Here are 3 things Oprah says “will carry us if we let them”1. Knowing who you really are 2. You must find a way to serve 3. Always do the right thing - be excellent so you become UNFORGETTABLEBe the change you want to see. Do what makes you come alive and meander down the path that pulls you to what you really love.==There's nothing better than community to help with that—so if you're looking for support to keep the FUN in podcasting, then joining my free community is a must. Here's what you're listeners don't want …They don't want the music. They don't care about the fancy 30-sec elevator pitch (they will press the fast forward anyway). They will never know what kind of microphone you are using so pick one you like. They don't wanna know all about your story and your history and all the accolades that you've had. Those things are nice and they are good to share but think about your client and where they are right now. They just wanna know - can you help me with my problem? Yes, do the music, the intro ... all of it, but not at the expense of forgetting what a podcast is really about. Podcasting has given me a successful coaching business where I get to pay forward all of this wisdom, and of course you can have the same. If you were a clairvoyant, and told me back in 2014 that a podcast would give me the success I have today, I'd never believed it. When you detach from the outcome and you no longer NEED it. That's when you start going somewhere. This shift can change your entire perspective. How can you find safety in detaching from the outcome? How can you podcast for the love of it, expecting zero in return in the way of downloads, listeners, clients, etc.?How can you hold the intention for your goal, but in a playful way ... like it's your number one job. +++Hey by the way … I have really amazing resource for you! It's a free class that I created to jumpstart your podcast, in just 3 steps. Want in? Podcasting's job is not to make you money or get you clients. You might be thinking ... "Since I did not make money yet what's the point of recording if it seems like no one is listening?" Sure, it's fun but let's get real ... it's not making me money. Why bother?" There's the obstacle thought - Why bother? Which becomes ... "I won't bother."When you say "I want ... I want ... I want," the universe hears this: "I don't have ... I don't have," so what that means is, you get more not having. This is the kiss of death. This is why the statistics for new podcasts show that most give up within the first few months. You can be that uncommon one by changing what you think podcasting success actually means. The actual point of podcasting - fun, experimenting, taking creative risks, and building a body of work.If your idea about podcasting is: "this is a marketing tool," you are missing the point entirely. It's like wanting the chicken before the egg.A podcast has the potential to become your ULTIMATE marketing tool, as it has for me ... but only because you create it with fun, passion, excitement and the willingness to always try new things. The first step ... do you like podcasting? Have you tried to act "as if" and record something?Does running to the microphone excite the hell out of you, like it's Christmas morning? That's the vibe I'm talking about here. You have to believe that every time you are speaking into your microphone it's like sending magical radio waves out to the universe.Your only job is to get behind the mic, and keep having fun, because NOTHING is linear. One post ... one episode, does not entitle you to the reward of a consult or a new client. It's about sowing the seeds, and believing exactly what you need will bounce back, then kiss it and let it go.Are you ready to take your podcast to the next level? It's so easy to fall into the place of comfort and complacency with the way we show up in our business and podcast. Sometimes we can't even see that because the desire to do what's easy is always running in the background. To zap out of this funk, here's a great question to ask: “what's my barfy-excited-scares-the-bejesus-out-of-me goal this week?” Little word of caution ... this does not mean go into the spin cycle by filling a sheet with 50 things to keep you busy.I've done this myself - sitting all day behind a computer thinking working harder will give me what I want. This is so FAR from the truth. If all you do is sit behind a computer mapping out a strategy, that's not scary. That's just creating more work on your to do list and stress. Here are some examples of what I've done over the years that got me out of my comfort zone:Asking to be a guest on very big, very popular and very visible podcastsRequest to be a keynote speaker in my nichePitching to do an in-person how to podcast course at a trade event. Asking celebs to be guests on my podcast (Yes, Deborah Norville of Inside Edition was on my show!)All you need to do is ASK. Then kiss it good bye and let the universe do the rest. You already know it's crazy, and you're like: “haha if pigs could fly, maybe Oprah will write me back.” But get ready ... because you might get that email, or DM and be asked to talk on someone's stage like it happened for me.The more you take yourself to your edge, the more fulfillment and accomplishment you'll experience.Landing that podcast guest or keynote speaker gig isn't actually the goal. The goal is the growth … the stretch out of your nest of safety. Now get out from behind the bushes. You have work to do mama bird. Are you ready to take your podcast to the next level? Hey I want to share this quick minisode with you to let you know about something revolutionary. Let's just say, it's my way of bypassing the necessity of scheduling a consult, and I bring it directly to YOU!So here's a little more about this concept ... Last month, I shared a peek inside my Confident Podcaster coaching program with a "live sales consult" Zoom call, and it was a BLAST! So ... I thought, "heck, why not do it again?!"Think of it like this - it's like you're coming to an open house. Have some wine and cheese, have fun. Totally chill. So I bring the consult to you ... and YOU get a peek "under the hood" to see what it's like to work with me as your 1:1 podcast coach. No strings attached, and you get a deep, inside look behind the curtain. Sounds cool, right?I'll also be teaching you my 3-step Roadmap process, so you can walk away with what it looks like to build, launch and grow a podcast from the ground up. No matter what you decide ... at the end of the session, you'll walk away understanding what it means to implement a doable process for launching your podcast. I'll be doing this training Wednesday, 1/26 at 10am PT/12pm CT/1pm ET, and if this time doesn't work for you, I'll be sharing a replay after I'm done, but I suggest you join me live for these 3 reasons:1.) You get to ask me your biggest podcasting questions face-to-face.2.) I'll be sharing limited-time bonuses if you should decide to work with me as your coach.3.) I only open a few spots each month for my 1:1 program, so when they are taken, enrollment closes.I work 1:1 with my clients, and I intentionally take on only a few at a time so I can deliver the most exceptional, supportive and comprehensive experience for each of my clients. To register go to karagottwarner.com/openhouse(After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.)See you Wednesday, 1/26 at 10am PT/12pm CT/1pm ET!

Melanie Childers, Master Coach and the creator of the Bad Bitch Mastermind, made it her mission to help ambitious women to bring their “patriarchy-smashing projects to life.”In this episode, Melanie shares the insights she discovered from having worked with me as her podcast coach, and how this support helped her overcome the obstacles holding her back."I used other people's podcasts against myself and I think it had to be a perfect or a particular way ... it gets to truly look like whatever I want it to look like. Having Kara on my team has really helped me see that."-Melanie ChildersBy making some simple shifts, Melanie learned to fuel her podcast with fun, spontaneity and a dash of quirkiness. She also learned how to tap into the tools to help her grow, and discovered that being herself is the secret sauce for podcasting longevity. More insights from Melanie: “Don't wait to start your podcast ... Kara's innate ability to help you streamline all of your thoughts that will lay the foundation for a lifelong body of work is so valuable.""And if you're in that place where you're like ... OK, I got that, but it's not fun anymore. This is the juice that keeps the ideas flowing ... It's the best thing for the longevity of my podcast because I found the fun again and I get to create it the way I want, and Kara does that so beautifully to help you take off all the shackles of the shoulds."To learn more about Melanie, visit: melaniechilders.comFollow her on Instagram: @theenlightenedbadass Want to see the video of this convo? With the new year fast-approaching, we're thinking about resets, resolutions, digital detoxes, and finally making this the year the best one ever, but what about taking time away? REAL time to do nothing and to do it with total intention. Taking a break can be one of the hardest things we can do, especially with our podcast, because we think we always have to be ON ... but one missed week is nothing 'cause you're here to build a legacy, right? In order to bring in more we need to make space ... empty the plate. Doing this takes courage, and willingness, but it can be the best gift you could give yourself this holiday season ... the gift that keeps giving, adding color and contrast to your life. AND ... when you do this you build self-trust. You know nothing falls apart. You'll take a reset, and you'll be excited to come back with fresh eyes and excitement to press record. This is the solution to sustainability if you want success with your podcast, your business, and your full humanity. Why do you need to be on all the time ... or appear that way in your online biz? What purpose does this serve? Will you will lose something if you do?Taking time off is actually where service starts. How can you serve others if you are not taking time to reflect, to see how things went this past year, these past few months? Sometimes weeding a garden or cleaning a cupboard is the work we must do. How can we welcome in more if the garden is overgrown and the cupboards look like a scene out of Hoarders? (Hey … speaking from my own experience!)Remember what Mr. Miagi said to Daniel in The Karate Kid when he was anxious to learn a new move? Mr M. said, “Wax on wax off.” The wisest teachers don't say much, and they repeat the simplest thing again and again so hopefully it finally hits our heart and we experience what we need. Give yourself grace ... love and time off if you need it and put the "shoulds" on a shelf.By the way … I have a special community for you. It's totally free, and and it's about ALL things podcasting. I go even deeper on what is shared here on the podcast, and you also get to watch live video trainings with me! Coming soon I'll be hosting a free podcasting masterclass inside the group to help you start your podcast in just 3 simple steps. In this episode, I'm continuing on with this theme of perfectionism, and how you can zap out of this by connecting to your inner peacock, and allow your colorful feathers to unfurl. You'll learn how to diffuse the things that hold you back, and finally get out from your own way to reach your baby birds through the power of your podcast. You're here for something bigger beyond the podcast. The podcast is the vehicle. Your words are the ALCHEMY. The podcasting equipment, the tools, the sound quality, that's the easy part. That part is just the action we take when we have a compelling reason that drives us.This I is what I'm talking about … check out this private message a client recently sent me: "I just can't contain my excitement ... I have to get this podcast out to the world!" That's the kind of HELL YEAH energy you gotta have.I used to play it safe because I feared criticism, or that somehow I wasn't playing by the rules about what I should or shouldn't share about myself, my vision as a coach and as a creative force in the world.I shared these limiting thoughts once with one of my coach friends and she replied ...You know Kara, you are a peacock, so what's the worst that could happen if you unfurl your feathers?" When you embrace your inner peacock it reminds you of who you are. You get to see yourself in full Technicolor … Flaws and all. How can you remind yourself how magnificent you are and really truly feel this in your skin? Is there something running in the background of your brain that is habitual? This might not show up right away or seem obvious, but keep searching for that hidden obstacle that keeps you stuck in the cage of perfectionism. Now go out there and unfurl your feathers and fly your freak flag! Don't x-out yet … I got something special for ya … Let's fuel your podcast with FUN and ease by checking out my free masterclass where I show you how to podcast in 3 steps. We may think perfectionism is a badge of honor, but let's call it what it is: FEAR in disguise and is the killer of dreams. Perfectionism keeps us so stuck that we spend months or even years thinking about starting a podcast, and then finally when you do, perfectionism rears it's ugly head again telling you it's not good enough ... record it again, create a better graphic, or promotional copy ... it's just not good enough ... you're not good enough. If you haven't started a podcast yet: how does wanting it to be perfect show up for you? If you have a podcast: how does perfectionism show up and take the fun out of it all? You can stay in your PJs and fave hoodie all day … and still create a big, beautiful business of your dreams and a podcast to be proud of!Here's how I see perfectionism rear its ugly head with my podcast coaching clients (and if any of these hit a nerve … GOOD!)They think …I need the right equipment before startingStill exploring the optionsI'm looking for the right producer/editorWaiting until the website is set up Keep re-recording because they don't like their voice, or a small slip upWriting and re-writing scripts/bullets because they have to be right firstIt should be a ground-breaking, profound topic Indecision about where to start - which topics come firstThey want to practice, take speaking classes firstThey want to wait until they have more time to go “all-in”Don't think they can have a seat at the "big coaches" table If any of these sound familiar, then I'm here to help. Let's fuel your podcast with FUN and ease by checking out my free masterclass where I show you how to podcast in 3 steps. Go to karagottwarner.com/confidentpodcaster to watch it now! In this episode, learn 4 actionable steps to easily cultivate an attitude of gratitude every single day. If you practice these and make the commitment to allow in abundance, you open the door to everything you want. When we are truly in a flow of gratitude, you see your completeness. You want for nothing because you already have all that you need. When you say I want it, I want it ... you're sending the universe a message that says "I don't have it.” Don't block the blessing. How can you apply this to your podcast so that it becomes a megaphone sending love and abundance to the universe so that it bounces back to you in ways that you can't image? To make this actionable for those of you who LOVE strategy and step by steps, here are some things you can do every day to make graditude your number 1 daily habit:1. Every day make a list of three things that you're grateful for that podcasting has brought into your life2. Name the three feelings that go with the three things that you're grateful for. Close your eyes and meditate on them. Feel then completely.3. If you practiced gratitude as your main podcasting, what do you think you would you create?4. As you go to your day pay attention to the times when you feel scarcity thoughts or are in a lack mindset and remind yourself that this is your inner GPS showing you that you are not in an attitude of gratitude. xo====Hey, want to take me up on an insane offer? In this episode, I talk about the equipment that I used to make podcasting so simple that I get to do it every day … effortlessly! You don't have to podcast every day, but the way I do it is super-simple. Most podcasters that have been at this for awhile have figured out the real secret to staying excited for years, and it is to keep it SIMPLE.I'll share what my recording studio looks like, and the different pieces of equipment that I use. You'll love what I share if you're feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start, and you'll be surprised to hear that you already have everthing you need to get started. Mix what I share with passion and excitement and you'll be unstoppable and unpodfadable. Are you ready to turn listeners into clients? It all starts right here. Book your free consult call with me.

In this episode I talk about how to make your podcast the main event in your biz instead of the other way around — which is to make social media front and center. We don't own our Facebook pages or IG feeds, and this episode is a call-to-action to take a look at how you're showing up in the digital space, especially if you have a podcast and you view it as separate from the other activities you're engaging in. This is my invitation for you to consider the power of your podcast as your number communication tool, and learn as I share ways to make it the nucleus of your business and how you communicate with the humans you want to impact. And if you want to take what we're doing here on the podcast a little deeper, I just opened a free community! Click here to request access to this FREE community. See you there!
What does podcasting with purpose really mean for you? This episode is an invitation for you to examine this if you've been at this for a few months. We go deep and below the surface, so get ready for some woo. When you're feeling like it's crickets, and think you're not growing, this is that invitation to check-in with what compels you to keep pressing record. When you catch yourself thinking, “yeah, but …” that's a wake-up call to check yo'self, and ask: “what outcome am I still attached to?” What do I need to believe to get back into loving-up my listeners? Use these revealing questions to help you find answers:What makes me feel like a child at play? What do I adore about podcasting? What gift does it give me that I would do just for fun like it's my side-gig? Hey, and by the way … if you want to take all that I talk about on this podcast even deeper, I'd like to invite you to the Podcasting with Purpose Community on Facebook, and join me for my Podcast Jumpstart Session every Wednesday at 12pm ET! There will be those times when you're just not feeling it. Maybe you're in the middle of banking your podcast launch episodes, or at the point of about 10ish episodes in, but … ya just don't wanna. Can you relate? Let's just fix that right here and now because there's just no reason for it.I'm a big on living in breakthroughs, the messy, in the PJs moments … (yes, and wearing no bra) and inviting you to do the same, because THIS is why your people flock to you … the REAL you. Not the REEL you.So why not share something that's happening in your day, maybe something that might seem even a little mundane? (I betcha your peeps won't think it is.)When you offer a little window into your life, this can help you connect with that one person who needed to hear it. They get to see you as an that authentic person you want to be … not who you're trying to be. 10 minutes of something heart-felt is WAAAAY more impactful than 30 minutes of “plain vanilla just push through it” content. Then you show up from mama bird energy … you show up as that bigger, bolder version of you.I'm not saying don't ever commit to a schedule, but I am saying give yourself grace so that you can keep going and create something sustainable for realz.Because when you face those times when you're not feeling it, you get to break the rules. You get to do whatever you want. It's your podcast. Your people are gonna love whatever you put out there, especially if it's something that is coming from that bigger part of you. When you unfurl your peacock feathers and allow those quirky, rough edges to show, that is how you are going to get past that 10 episode point, which is where most people stop podcasting. If you've reached this point and you're still going … that's cause for SERIOUS celebration because you're creating a sustainable vehicle for communicating and sharing love and being of service, instead of looking at your podcast as just another “thing” you do for your business. When you shift to love, what you create becomes an offering. That's when you begin to transform, and so do your listeners. Then your podcast becomes a valuable asset … a precious jewel in your coaching business. If you want to get moving with your podcast, and launch this baby, then let's talk about your next move! Let's hop on a clarity call to see what your next steps are and we will create a custom plan that fits beautifully with your vision. In this episode, I challenge you to take a look at that moment of awareness when you think the thought “I have to” as an invitation to consciously shift to “what do I want to do?”It's not like you're gonna sit on the couch watching Netflix and eating chips all day. You're an achiever, a person with a vision and big goals. So get the f*** out of your own way and trust that choosing what you want, you'll become more empowered, dynamic and in charge of your ship. You'll approach your business, and podcasting with a spirit of playfulness and childlike fascination, and you'll see the world as a loving, open and expansive. Energy goes where your excitement is. What lights you up. What do you adore?A podcast can be the nucleus for your business if you want it to be. You get to play in that sandbox every day. You may think, “but I'm not good enough yet … I don't sound professional … I trip over my words … people will think I'm a fraud … “But here's the gift — your early episodes are the moments when your people are going to get the most transformation, because you showed them possibility. When you trip over your words, and show your imperfections, then maybe they'll see they aren't a special snowflake after all.Look at the obstacles for what they really are because they're not the tools or the equipment. They're not practicing and waiting until you sound better. The obstacle is that big thing between your ears.Let's coach the heck out of your brain and get you moving with your podcast. When you're a hell yes, you'll stop wasting time and get moving. Let's call BS on the thoughts that keep you out of integrity with your wisdom. We'll figure out if working together is a good fit. It all starts right here.
If you struggle with episode content, in this episode I share tips to help you never run out of ideas for your podcast. These tips have helped me to show up for the past 8 years behind the mic! Tip 1: Share your programDon't ever worry about giving your program away because YOU are the asset! Your listeners get a taste of you, and they are like “wow, she's giving amazing value every week, I can't imagine what I get when we work together!”Tip 2: Share a Universal problem you see your clients faceIf you see common trends that you clients bring to you, and people that come to your discovery sessions, talk about those! This is pure GOLD.Tip 3: Ask questions and do surveys on social mediaThis one is fun! I love this and do it when it feels good, because people love polls and questions, and specifically polls because they are easy to do. Tip 4: Ask questions in DM Do this ONLY with people you have connected with in the DM/PMs. No one likes someone hopping in their inbox uninvited! Let your network/peers know you're doing a fun episode and ask them to record a 1 minute response to your question, or write it in the DM reply.Tip 5: Repurpose your live videos as an episodeThis gives you a little breathing room because you take one piece of content and use it in a new way.Tip 6: Find a method to capture ideas ... a creative conduit Brain dump it in Asana, create voice memos on your phone … When they come you can capture them in the ether. Then you'll have the insurance to tap into a resource if you don't have ideas in the tank. Let's blow things up with your podcast! Schedule your discovery session and learn how working with a podcast coach can help you turn listeners to clients!
It's time to call BS on that default thought that tells you “this isn't working … nobody's listening.” This thought is the poison that will kill your podcast. In this episode, I share how to shift your thoughts to focus on what serves you to keep going and to catch yourself when your brain wants to tell you it's not working … and it wants to give up.You are so much closer than you think, and could it be that what you're doing is already working? It's working in the way it should be, not necessarily in the way you want it to. Hey, by the way … I just opened the doors to The Podcasting with Purpose Community on Facebook! Come on over and join the fun because starting today with this episode, I'm doing “30 Days, 30 Episodes” and in the group, I'll share more inspiration, live videos and other goodies!Click here to request access to the Group and see you there!
When you become the person who commits, you make a decision to get very uncomfortable over and over and over again. The discomfort actually means you're almost there. Be willing to befriend the unfamiliar. You keep mining for diamonds, but you keep getting rocks … all you need is to turn over one more rock, and your diamond will appear. When you commit … there's no negotiation. You know WHY you're doing this … it's a burning reason. You're doing this for something bigger than yourself. Have your mac & cheese day, and give yourself grace. It's OK. Then pull up your big girl panties. You are building something meaningful and uncommon. No one said it would be easy and comfy … but you are in love with your reason for it all. You'll press record even if no one is listening … you'll do it anyway. When you keep speaking, and telling your truth even when you're voice shakes again and again, something amazing happens … you create a special kind of insurance because YOU did not give up like most do. Failure does not beat you. If you can do failure you can do anything. ++++I'm here to help you speak that truth. Let's find those humans who you want to reach. I'll help you work some magic behind the microphone so you are excited to show up again and again. Let's save you time and energy figuring it out on your own. You're about 10ish episodes in and you're ready to give up. Where are all the peeps? This is too hard … I'm not seeing the results I want. WTF? In this episode I share lessons learned over 25 years ago from reading a magical little book called, The Alchemist which I first read amidst a divorce in my mid-twenties, and starting over when I all I wanted to do was give up. Listen as I share my wisdom from this time of my life and how this can help you have the fortitude to keep going with your podcast … keep mining for diamonds even when all uncover is rocks and coal. Now that I'm in the 2nd half of my life, the universe called me to revisit not only the lessons I learned back then, and how I never stopped believing I could radically transform my life and how you can too. When we follow our reason for showing up and going after our dream, even the most opposing force cannot kill our spirit.Share your number 1 takeaway is from this episode by going over to Instagram and connecting with me @karagottwarner and comment what you LOVED about this episode on my most-recent post.
You want success in your coaching business you can almost taste it. You see how powerful a podcast can be to reach your potential clients, and you want the help to guarantee that success BUT … something is in the way.Thoughts like, it's too much work, I don't have time, I'm not ready get in the way and the biggest obstacle is your lack of trust that you can 10000% make what you want a reality. You dabble with free stuff, trying to figure it out on your own, you take the free courses and coaching programs, and get the checklists and guides, and tuck them away and say "later." ... later never comes. You're fearful of putting skin in the game to invest in yourself by hiring a coach, and so the success you want remains a wish because you don't know how to get there. You keep trying the same thing expecting different results. Great coaches have coaches, because they have discovered that a return on investment that compounds overtime is possible, and that's the insurance to reach the success they know is guaranteed because they are driving the bus. Once you get a taste of this there's no turning back. Your belief skyrockets and what you invest becomes irrelevant because you know you'll compound what you put in. For the first few years of my business I was seeking the golden ticket, piecing together the free stuff, the courses and I listened to all the "experts."I thought ... "If I just get all the strategies, the swipe files and checklists, and I follow them exactly, I'll figure this shit out." I stayed in this kind of scarcity without even knowing it, and the looping thought was: "When I start making money in my business, then I'll be ready to hire a coach." Instead of: "When I hire a coach, then I'll start making money and have the success I want." Scarcity and worry about not having enough was the mantra in my head and I kept creating the same problem because I could not see that I was the one creating the obstacle. When you view hiring a coach as an investment instead of an expense, you begin to trust in your own power to compound your investment because you put your chips on YOU.Can it be scary? Sure. That's what it means to be an entrepreneur. If you want to make your business work, you get help.I say all of this with total love because I know the pain of denial in my own business journey.Once I began investing in myself, that's when the shift began, and it happened fast.I held my breath and jumped in. The water was cold and a little shock to my system, but it was exhilarating too because I knew it was exactly the thing I had to do.Finding the money became a non-issue because I created the safety in my beliefs that I could create more. What you want is so close. You just have to move over and get out of your own way. If money was not an issue, and the success you want is 100% guaranteed, what would you do? Sending you so much love and support, and when you jump I'll be there to catch you.
