Welcome back Tealovers!Today I will be interviewing my eldest sister, Tricia Fung, Mother of three, Degree in Child Development, Married 27 years, lover of friends, family and anything fashion.Today's episode will highlight the concept of knowing you deserve more and moving throughout life as though you believe it. Tricia dives deep into her childhood and what it was like to be the child of teen parents who were navigating life themselves. She discusses moments in her life where she felt vulnerable and shame. However, she would quickly realized that shame was not a burden she was meant to hold onto. After losing her father to ALS when she was 21 years old she discusses how you can love someone but not agree with their actions and in order to heal you must first forgive others and yourself. From an early age she always beat to the sound of her own drum, navigating life as she went but never losing sight of what she deserved. Tricia describes her moments in life where she could of given up and thrown in the towel but through watching others learn their lessons she was able to not repeat certain cycles. Society has made us believe if we don't have what the person we follow has, then we aren't good enough. That simply isn't REALITY, humans are multifaceted creatures and with that are their highs and lows. In today's episode I talk about the 4 year anniversary of my fathers passing 9/14/2019. I always say grief is weird, hard to explain but those who understand know the feeling of loss. A feeling like someone special is missing the party and we are secretly hoping they walk through the door but subconsciously know that won't ever happen. Tea With D began because I needed a space to escape and express my emotions through a creative outlet. I rewind time and go back to that fateful day I received a call that would change the course of my life forever. The days leading up to the passing and the state of mind I was in. With a new perceptive 4 years later, a lot can change. From the day he left this earth and how I've coped ever since. I touch on things that are rarely discussed in society in terms of death/loss. In the hopes that someone grieving can relate and not feel as alone. My hope is to remind people that everyone is going through something they don't talk about, so be kind not only to others but yourself.
