In this solo episode, we are talking about the gift of motherhood — how we can find ways to accept where we are at right now in this season of motherhood.  In this last episode of Season Two, I am reflecting on what common themes from the past two seasons in particular how we pressure ourselves and set such high expectations for ourselves in all aspects in our lives which then lead to burnout and overwhelm. The modern day as mothers, especially in the Western culture weighs heavily on the hustle culture. What are ways we can find more self-acceptance? What Motherhood is teaching us in each chapter. Being ok with the ebbs and flow of motherhood and the fact that not everything is always going to be perfect is part of the blessings we experience in motherhood -- one of our many gifts in motherhood. __Podcast WebsiteConnect with Casey James:Instagram: @thryve_living, @thryvingmotherpodcastFor professional/brand support: @senseandsavvyWebsite: www.thryve.caEmail: hello@thryve.ca

She realized most baby and children's clothing available on the market were pink or blue. Nancy then questioned the impact of fashion on child development, but especially the integration of gender stereotypes. Why are clothes for boys differently cut than girls? Why are certain colours banned for one sex and not for the other, why, why, why? Growing up, Nancy spent her free time in her family's sewing studio where she was greatly inspired by her mother's talents in tailoring. In 2016, equipped with all kinds of fabrics and brimming, as well as her mother's help, Nancy set about creating unique and personalized pieces for each of the mothers-to-be around her. The enthusiasm was instantaneous. A few days later, she presented her personal project on social media. Charmed by the idea, thousands of users subscribed to her page in just a few hours. From there, The Little Yogi company was born. Six months later, while the brand was still growing in notoriety, the young entrepreneur left behind her career to devote herself completely to building her company.Learn more about The Little Yogi Company and Truand, Truand on Instagram @littleyogicompany and @truandtruand or visit: www.littleyogicompany.com. __Podcast WebsiteConnect with Casey James:Instagram: @thryve_living, @thryvingmotherpodcastFor professional/brand support: @senseandsavvyWebsite: www.thryve.caEmail: hello@thryve.ca

On the seventh episode of the Thryving Mother Podcast,  we're exploring ways to cultivate self-expression in our home with Shannan Scott, Co-Founder of Reason Goods, a seasonally designed home and lifestyle brand for the multi-faceted individual with giving back at heart. Self-expression allows us to understand ourselves and process our emotions. It's a form of self-discovery and personal growth. Expressing who we are in our truest most authentic self (and allowing our children to do the same) offers so many incredible opportunities to get to know who we truly are. There are so many ways we express ourselves. Making your home into a mindful sanctuary where you can relax and unwind is key to creating a positive environment that nurtures wellness and mental health and deepens your self-expression. During our conversation, Shannan and I discussed what this can look like in our home – in the simplest form. In a time of our lives where toys are likely sprawled all over our living room floor 80% of the time, the dishes in the kitchen are always needing to be cleaned – we can easily feel the lack of inspiration to have our home looking like a picture from Pinterest. But, Shannan shares simple ways that we can still make our home look and feel amazing through experiential touch points and ways to still make our space feel good that doesn't cost a fortune.  SHOW NOTES_______About Shannan Scott An event producer by trade, Shannan is the one who takes all that pretty and infuses intentionality and immersive touch points into every collection Reason Goods designs.
