Bestandsinvestoren wie u.a. Zum Unternehmensportfolio gehören u.a. This 25-year-old Ivy League Valedictorian obtained his PhD at Oxford University in just two years and is now pursing his MD at Harvard Medical School. His research expertise is ketosis and brain aging; however, he has published scientific papers on topics ranging from neuroscience to heart disease to gastrointestinal health to genetics to bone health to diabetes. Nick's passion for Food as Medicine is founded a personal history. At eighteen years old, he developed severe osteoporosis, a bone disease that crippled his promising running career. Next, Nick developed ulcerative colitis, an inflammatory bowel disease so severe as to cause him to lose twenty percent of his body weight in weeks and end up in the palliative care ward of a hospital with a heart rate in the twenties. Through scientific self-study, Nick discovered his salvation in a ketogenic diet. He reversed his osteoporosis and colitis and is thriving! But Nick is grateful for his apparent misfortunes. In his words, “The most remarkable part of my story is that it's not unique. The healthcare system isn't built to address metabolic diseases. For that, we need metabolic medicine rooted in nutrition. My lifelong goal is to help reform the system and edu- cate people. Plus, I'd like to think being a patient has made me a more compassionate person.” Follow Nick Norwitz at Twitter / @nicknorwitz LinkedIn / Dr. Nicholas Norwitz

On this week's episode, we're talking about the emotional and mental shift that happens in motherhood and how to honour and embrace these changes that occur when entering motherhood. As we enter this new chapter in our lives, our whole world changes. Our identity expands. Our old self begins to shed away what doesn't serve us anymore and we re-evaluate what is important to us. Our identity is our being - it is how we understand who we are. If we don't take the time to acknowledge and recognize those changes and our new roles, we lose touch with our identity - the core being of who we are. I'm sharing seven ways to honour the shift and transformation that occur throughout motherhood in hope that we can all feel more empowered as mothers and are able to show up for ourselves and our loved ones with even more intention. It is my hope that this episode provides new ways to see how we can embrace our expanded identity in motherhood and continue to re-define your self-discovery and motherhood journey. At Thryve, this is what fires us up the most -- from conversations on our Podcast, to 1:1 Self-Growth Mentorship, to future Thryve gatherings, my mission is to help guide women through these incredibly powerful changes in their lives as they embrace their expanded identity and all that comes with it. If you are dealing with health struggles or are just interested in optimizing your health this episode is for you! Kristel Bauer chats with Richard Lin, the CEO of Thryve, a company that provides gut microbiome testing, personalized nutrition, and customized probiotics designed by experts from MIT, Stanford, Harvard, Purdue, and UC Davis. Does the gut microbiome contribute to sugar cravings? How does gut health impact our well-being? Tune in to discover the answers! Prior to starting Thryve, Richard went through a very serious struggle with autoimmune pain for years before learning that the flora in his gut microbiome were at the core of his healing. Even after his deep exploration into the topic of gut health, Richard was left with more questions than answers and knew there was a need for education on this topic, and personalized, realistic offerings to help others take control of their digestive wellness. Listen to episode 455 of the Inspirational Living Podcast: The Power of Being Bold & Decisive. Edited and adapted from Pushing to the Front by Orison Swett Marden. Motivational Podcast Excerpt: The women and men who have left a mark upon their century have been the ones of great and prompt decision. An undecided person, a person who is ever balancing between two opinions, forever debating which of two courses they will pursue, proclaims by their indecision that they cannot control themselves, that they were meant to be possessed by others. They are not in the arena, but in the stands. The individual of decision, of prompt action, does not wait for favorable circumstances. They do not submit to events; events must submit to them. The vacillating woman and man is ever at the mercy of the opinion of the person who talked with them last. They may see the right, but they drift toward the wrong. If they decide upon a course, they only follow it until somebody opposes it. Visit our sponsor Thryve for perfect gut health, and other positive health benefits. Richard Lin is CEO of Thryve, the first gut health company to provide personalized probiotics and microbiome testing. In this episode, Richard talks about the deeply personal experience that inspired him to start his company, how his faith influences how he runs his business, and the enormous potential of probiotics to impact every aspect of human health.
Today on the 20 Minute Fitness we dig deep into a topic that has not entered the mainstream markets yet but is extremely important: gut health. And to get real professional insight on the topic, we talk to Richard Lin, the founder of Thryve, a personalized probiotics company targeted for your gut health. Listen to learn more about gut health, why it's important and how Thryve will get you the personalized probiotics your gut calls for to live a happy & healthy life!Three Things You Will Learn1) Why Thryve Is Better Than Your Average ProbioticsYou can easily walk in any major supermarket and get a bottle of basic probiotics. But to be fair, you might not be doing any good to your health & body with that. As 1) you don't actually know what you're getting & 2) it might have completely different strains than what your body needs. In contrast to this, Thryve works at a completely personalized basis. The first step with Thryve is to do an at-home microbiome test, which is then sent to a lab for analysis. Once you receive your lab test results, you'll know all the ins and outs of your gut and what bacteria live in your body. Based on these, Thryve will give you an overview of the various symptoms that you’re likely to have. Additionally, they'll also provide you with food recommendations and truly personalized probiotics. Tune in to hear more about how Thryve's gut health testing works and the benefits your body will gain from personalized probiotics! 2) Microbiome A-ZMicrobiome testing is unfortunately not that common yet, but it can really go a long way. There are a lot of chronic diseases as well as digestive issues that you can get to the bottom of with a simple microbiome test. While you might think, "I know how to eat healthily, I just have to avoid processed foods & eat more veggies", which is indeed a great generic advice, one size doesn't fit all. Meaning that your microbiome might call for completely different veggies than your best friends'. Personalizing your diet and complementing it with the right probiotics can have tremendous benefits for your gut health & overall wellbeing. The variety of bacterial species found in your gut will increase, just like the good bacteria. While the unpleasant bacteria that live in your body will decrease. This will ultimately result in improvements in digestive & metabolic issues. Press play to learn more about the microbiome and why microbiome testing can be beneficial for you!3) How Thryve Was BornYou might think that Richard has some sort of medical background, which is why he founded a gut health & personalized probiotics company. But this is not the case. In reality, Richard has a completely different background, however, he went through a very serious disease, which made him realize how important his gut health was.A couple of years back, Richard was misdiagnosed, put on some antibiotics and got a superbug in his stomach. Even though he could feel that something was wrong, all the doctors that he saw told him that he was perfectly healthy. So he went on to the road of self-diagnosis and looked for answers at online forums. Finally, he found out that he has a very serious chronic illness which kills about half a million citizens a year in the US alone. After being successfully treated and getting better, Richard came to the conclusion that consumers don’t have a good tool to understand what’s happening in their microbiome. Which he wanted to change.Listen on to hear all about Richard's dramatic journey and how he used one of his competitors to gain inspiration for Thryve!
On this episode of humanOS Radio, Dan speaks with Richard Lin. Like all too many of us, Richard became personally invested in his health when he developed a problem that failed to respond to conventional medical interventions. He eventually realized that a disruption in the gut microbiota was the likely cause of his illness. This inspired him to start Thryve Inside. Thryve helps consumers test and learn about their own microbiota by providing at-home microbiome test kits. But here's what sets Thryve apart: they don't just give you information, they also endeavor to provide solutions. Thryve offers monthly subscriptions of personalized probiotics to customers, which are formulated based on their microbiome and their individual health goals. To learn more about Thryve, and about the exciting future of microbiome testing and probiotics, please check out the interview!

Strategy is the highway for vision. The problem is, too many business owners spend a lot of time developing a complex roadmap that a) never gets finished, b) never gets communicated, or c) is too difficult for frontline workers to understand. So, how do you design a simple, focused business development strategy that leads to RFP success—and growth in your business at large? Gina Catalano works with CEOs and leadership teams to improve operations and increase business value. With 20-plus years of experience leading and consulting with businesses, she is an authority on the integration of business development and operations. Gina serves as a volunteer for Startup Tucson's Thryve mentorship program, and she is the author of the Amazon bestseller Tandem Leadership: How Your #2 can Make You #1. Today, Gina joins us to discuss the benefit of a simple, well-explained business strategy, offering advice around narrowing your focus to a single vertical. She describes how to write an RFP through the lens of the client and identify your champion within a particular organization. Gina also covers the Lean Startup concept of customer discovery, explaining how to leverage the people in a company who touch the customers in this process. Listen in for Gina's insight on framing strategy as an exercise in choosing what NOT to do and learn why implementation is more important than trying to craft a perfect strategy. He's unmistakably visible. His suit is covered with comic expressions like bam and kapow. His hat is orange, his cape is red and his sneakers flash green with every step. His superpower is lack of embarrassment and he plunges into the dangers of artistic apathy. While other superheroes are summoned by a bright light in the sky, Frank Powers summons the light and shines it what he calls the underdog- Comic Art. His current vision is bring the art to the people. To get this idea going he has closed his brick and mortar shop - which was called Constant Con- and is now pivoting the business to a bus - he calls The Comic Bookmobile... bringing local art and art education to kids through comics and super heroes. The bus will visit schools and put on assemblies as well as class to class visits advocating literacy and art programs to all of Tucson, and eventually the state of Arizona. We sat down with the man, the myth, the legend that is Frank Powers and got a little insight as to why a comic bookmobile is needed and where he is in the development stage. I think if Frank can overcome his shy quiet demeanor he could do well in show biz. It happened to be one of my longer interviews and took several detours, which we will be able to air on future shows. Today, however, it's about the bus. We'll link to the Gofund me site- busbusbus so you can see a composite video of the presentation Frank and his partner, Natalia, put together to win Startup Tucson's Thryve competition. I don't know if Frank will end up being the Krusty the Clown of Tucson, the mister rogers of his neighborhood, or the superhero saving schools, but I do have complete faith that Frank will continue to be celebrity using his powers for good.
In this episode you will learn: • The top three most important gut bacteria • What genetics influence what bacteria grow in the microbiome • And a surprising way to increase gut bacteria diversity Christina Tsai is the head of research and development at Thryve. Before joining Thryve she was the co-founder and Chief Science Officer of a company called Epibiome. At Thryve she develops microbiome profiling tests, and formulated Thryve’s probiotic blends.
How To Thrive With Thryve This podcast is all about getting your mind right so that you can make a positive impact on your immediate world and ultimately the greater world around you. However, sometimes it can be really difficult to be that positive light for others when we aren't feeling well physically. Have you ever wondered why sometimes even when you're eating healthy, drinking lots of water, exercising, getting enough sleep and taking care of your mental game that you still may not be feeling well? Some of the latest medical research has been revealing how important our digestive track truly is when it comes to overall health and wellness. It turns out that our gut can tell us quite a bit of information about our health. Probiotics have been very popular in the last few years. However, with so many options available, are we really ever sure if the probiotic we buy is really helping us? How can we know if the healthy bacteria in our gut is improving? Listen in today where we are joined by the CEO and founder of THRYVE INSIDE, a probiotic company that offers a personalized gut health program where the probiotic you receive is tailored specifically for you. How is this possible you ask? Well... you will just have to listen to my conversation with Richard Lin to find out :) Another episode of The Positivity Effect goes live next week - Stay Tuned !!!
In this episode you will learn • Why Gut health continues to be essential for overall health • What microbe RNA can tell you about your gut health • What you need to sample to to measure your microbiome Several years ago Richard Lin became ill after taking course of antibiotics. And ended up being hospitalized. Wondered why he got sick, started reading literature on gut health and discovered the microme. After heading down that rabbit hole he learned more and more about the gut microbiome he realized that there wasn’t a service dedicated to helping people monitor and improve their microbiome health. So he founded Thryve, a company dedicated to creating personalized probiotic formulas.
Richard Lin is the CEO of Thryve, one of the first gut-health companies. In this episode Laura and Richard discuss how microbes in your body can improve your health. You can find them online at www.thryveinside.com and on social channels @thryveinside. For more information about Laura and her work you can go to her website www.healingpowers.net or find her on Twitter @thatlaurapowers, on Facebook @realhealingpowers and on instagram at laurapowers44. After a medical scare with antibiotics, Richard set about to learn about the microbiome and its relationship with an individual's overall health. The brainchild from his research, Thryve Inside, provides a personalized report of what microbes are in your microbiome and what that means for you, written in language that is easy to understand for the average layperson, as well as a personalized probiotic each month. Through his research of all relevant medical studies and data, Thryve Inside has compiled a microbe library from around the world that can help people achieve their goals, including weight loss and overall health. Richard discusses some of the biggest problems with the probiotic industry today, and what Thryve Inside is doing differently to help their customers, as well as interesting trends they see and real success stories. To start, individuals simply return a test kit and answer a questionnaire about their current health and overall goals. Currently, Thryve Inside is dedicated to improving their reports, releasing test kits for different microbiomes throughout the body, and expanding their reports to include other organisms. In the long run, they hope to become a data platform that aggregates microbiome data from around the world and provides information on how different products such as shampoos, toothpastes, and vitamins can affect individuals. In the eternal words of Management Consultant, Peter Drucker, “What gets measured, gets managed.”I began testing my gut microbiome. There are a lot of options out there but I chose to use Thryve most often. Why? Well, mainly accuracy is a big thing for me but also the process behind the test. Not only do I get the information about the bacteria in my gut but Thryve includes the scientific research behind each of the findings of the test. This is extremely important to people like me. Based on the tests, Thryve also creates custom probiotics which are delivered refrigerated to your door. I emphasize the word refrigerated part (this is important for the effectiveness of the probiotic). We’ve had the founder Richard Lin on the podcast so if you wanna learn more I suggest you start with that episode or you can go to thryveinside.com and you can use the code DESuperhuman15 for a 15% discount on your first order. “If you look at microbiome and the human microbiome project when it was launched in 2008, it’s been growing about 35% year over year. Even though we’re kind of early on in the microbiome research and science, the pace of how fast it’s growing is pretty staggering.” My guest is Richard Lin, CEO of Thryve (www.thryveinside.com). Thryve is a microbiome genomics and probiotic therapeutics company with an end goal of indexing the entire world’s microbes to improve health & wellness. Richard started Thryve after antibiotic overuse. He has made it his mission to learn about the microbiome to improve human health. By starting Thryve, Richard’s goal is to provide a platform where citizen scientist, academic researchers, government institutions, and pharmaceutical companies can come together and halt the progression of microbiome related diseases. Richard has been featured on MIT Technology Review, CEO/CFO Magazine, Small Business Reviews, Medscape, Health 2.0, eHealth Radio, Silicon Valley Business Journal, and has been featured in a Brazilian documentary. This conversation is both an introduction and dive into the field of microbiome testing. For the purposes of this conversation, Richard and I focused on the Gut Microbiome. Key Highlights:What is the microbiome? The INSANE amount of growth in microbiome researchThe technology behind Thyrve and how it differs from other microbiome testing companies (hint: Machine Learning)Are microbiome tests accurate? Why some probiotics are more useful than others… and why others do nothing. The 30% discount code Richard gives to new usersSome pretty bad jokes from me!
