McLean is a mother of two, wife, Motherhood Coach, Postpartum Doula, Birth Educator, Certified Pre + Postnatal Yoga & Pilates Teacher, Certified Nutritionist, Hypnosis & Reiki Practitioner, Frequency Guide, Circle Leader and Sound Bath Facilitator. She became a Postpartum Doula in order to embody the help that she didn't realize she needed after the birth of her first daughter in 2011. Becoming a Postpartum Doula led her to her truest passion- to support women during their rite of passage from Maiden to Mother. She believes that Postpartum Care not only helps the new Mama heal, but also sets the entire family up to thrive. Through her Postpartum Coaching and Doula work, she helps couples come together, not drift apart. Mothers do not exist in a vacuum. And so we must look to the foundation of the entire family unit as a means for maternal health in mind, body and spirit. McLean bows down to all of her incredible women in her life and mama friends who have held her up, made her laugh to tears, supported her work vision, inspired her and created space for immense healing. And most importantly, she thanks her two biggest teachers- her daughters Jemima and Goldy Wolf who launched her greatest adventure, to be their Mother. Does your house clutter overwhelm you? Studies have shown us that our stress hormone rises when we see clutter and mess. We naturally get overwhelmed because we see all the things that we still 'need to do'. In todays episode I had the honor of interviewing Abby and she loves teaching mamas how to live an abundant motherhood starting with decluttering their home. Abby Haggard is a motherhood coach, course creator, and the host of “The Fullness Show" Podcast which empowers mothers to step out of overwhelm and into overflow in all areas of their lives. As wife to Chris Haggard and mother of 5 little ones, her dream is to raise her kiddos from a place of fullness and abundance and watch the overflow take place. Abby's mission is to see mothers, fathers and families set free from the unhealthy cultural pressures that steal from the promise of the abundant life Jesus died to give them. The Haggards believe parenthood and childhood are too precious of a time to spend just surviving. We are called to thrive! In this episode you will learn:-What clutter does to us mentally and emotionally-Creating a safe haven in your home -Where to start when you are so overwhelmed by your home -Questions to ask yourself when decluttering -What if I will need it again some day? Little did she know what induction really meant. Once her Pitocin induced labor finally kicked into gear, her contractions were uncontrollable, very suddenly! She felt out of control and frustrated trying to deliver her baby without a sense of reality. Because of the interventions offered to her that day, she landed back in the hospital from complications from the catheter. After experiencing such a hard recovery from that experience, and not being informed of the side affects, she decided to prepare herself for an all natural birth with her second and third child. She had full support from her husband and they set out to have the birth they desired. A natural one. Her story is one of redemption and empowerment and proof that women can handle childbirth when they are left alone to labor the way their bodies were intended. Be encouraged by her story! Jenna is passionate about motherhood. She is a motherhood coach and has written her very own motherhood manuals. On this week's episode of Spinsterhood Reimagined, I talk to The Solo Motherhood Coach, Mel Johnson. Mel is a solo mum to her 4 year old daughter, Daisy, who was conceived using IVF and donor conception. Following her own journey into solo motherhood, and passionate about empowering women to fully understand their options on the path to parenthood, Mel created The Stork & I. Through The Stork & I, Mel provides a platform and community for women embarking on this path to parenthood. As a qualified coach, with over 10 years coaching experience, Mel supports single women considering solo parenthood as well as offering support for every stage of the process. She provides one to one and group coaching, and she also launched The Stork & I podcast in 2020, as well as a membership community for solo parents, Thriving Solo. Mel also documents 'a day in the life' of a solo mum on The Stork & I Instagram, to give a balanced insight into what daily life is like.In this conversation, Mel and I discuss her time living in Budapest when she decided to embark upon her solo motherhood journey; how she was always crystal clear about the fact that she wanted to have a baby - partner or no partner; and how, at the age of 36, she decided to take things into her own hands rather than wait for a partner. We also discuss the five real options when it comes to having a baby on your own; how it's almost impossible to be your best dating self when you've got the pressure of a baby at the forefront of your mind; the differences between IUI and IVF; and the steps that Mel had to go through in order to conceive Daisy. Mel and I also chat about how she chose a sperm donor; the financial implications of both IVF and IUI, as well as the financial implications of childcare once you have a baby; and the societal narrative around solo parenting. The Stork & I website: https://thestorkandi.com/Follow Mel on Instagram: @the_stork_and_i Link to Mel's podcast on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-stork-and-i/id1519111127Link to Mel's podcast on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/7FiJKxOdNTVIcGaHSBf71JJoin my private Facebook Group: Join my private Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1870817913309222/?ref=shareFollow me on Instagram: @spinsterhoodreimaginedFollow me on Twitter: @LucyMeggesonEmail me: lucymeggeson@gmail.com

In this episode of the Thryving Mother Podcast, Cayley Benjamin, Motherhood Coach shares her insights on Matrescence - the transition into Motherhood. She speaks about how we need a mother-centred society rather than just a baby-centred society — nurturing the mother through her major transitions just as much as we nurture our baby. She also offers insights on the transformative identity shift a mother has and what she believes to be the best approach is in re-defining motherhood. Show Notes: In this episode of the Thryving Mother Podcast, we discuss, What inspired Cayley to support Mothers. What some of the shifts Cayley sees the most when working with Mothers. How she would re-define motherhood in ways that would actually make an impact and help support women on their journey in motherhood. Her insights on the career/working shift that often happens when women enter Motherhood. Looking at what it would look like with a more ‘mother-centred' approach in our societyThe common areas of vulnerability that come up for so many mothers include worthiness, pressures, mental load, mom guilt, expectations and how she suggests women can begin to work through these to feel more empowered.
